I was excited to see this restaurant open because I love their sister restaurant in Danville, Locanda Ravello. Amalfi recently shared an IG post about their family meal deal and everything looked and sounded delicious especially the pizzas. I love a good pizza! I called the restaurant and they were very friendly and told me about the family deal. I ordered it and added an extra pizza because my growing boys have huge appetites. Caesar salad-fresh romaine salad with cheese, crunchy croutons and a creamy dressing. Margherita pizza-pizzas here are so good, I would enjoy any toppings or none at all! The crust is thin but the edges are puffy, crisp and chewy. I enjoy Amalfi's red sauce-its thick and full of tomato flavor. Porcini pizza-my family always enjoys the combination of sausage and mushrooms and this was delicious. Strozzapreti-pasta with sausage, peas and mushrooms in a parmiggiano reggiano cream sauce. The service here is super attentive and fast. The wine list is okay but the staff here are so amazing and ensure a great drink situation. The ambiance is nice and wasn't too busy for lunch on the weekends. The food here was really good! The arancini balls, beet salad, and peppers all made great appetizers. I was supposed to go to another pizzaria, but it closed. This was the first place that popped up when I was panicking to find a spot for pizza. This place was packed and even though I didn't come with a reservation I got sat down at a table. I ordered the San Daniele and Margherita pizzas. The wait was on the longer end, but I suppose that's how it is at a crowded restaurant. The pizza was so far the best pizza I ever had. Usually I trash the crust because its too dense and chewy or other times a rock, but I genuinely enjoyed eating the crust. I wished I did have something like tomato sauce to dip the crust in so I wasn't just eating dry bread. I would come here again. read more

We ordered a kids pasta with sauce on the side and got charged an additional dollar for the sauce on the side. We weren't told this would be the case either when we ordered. We ordered the papperdale bolognese and it tasted like nothing. The sauce did not even taste good. The eggplant Parmesan was okay with slightly bitter eggplant unless doused in cheese. Also charging three dollars for bread is fine but why charge me a whole additional three dollars for some additional bread. Been to many many fine dining places where this is just not the case. In my opinion, save your money and go to Delarosa. Quick service, great food, better service. Never are you left wondering why you came there. I mean 25 dollars for a dish that has no flavor?! We brought the kids for dinner before AC disallows outdoor dining. It was a little taste of Europe and brought us back memories of our recent trip. Pizza is always a good idea. We ordered our favorite pizzas (pepperoni and cheese), salad and lobster ravioli! We enjoyed watching the pizza making while waiting for our table. They allowed us to place our order while waiting for our table and we got our food in minutes after seating. I just hope they had extra heater. As a previous fan of their Lafayette location , I tried the Pleasanton restaurant to mixed results: Noise level -- don't expect to have an intimate dinner here, or even to be able to carry on a conversation. The noise level is through the roof. Food -- very good, everyone enjoyed their meals. Value -- the dinners are very fairly priced for a nice restaurant, albeit one lacking in ambience. BUT the add-ons charges turned it into a very expensive dinner. Most nicer restaurants now offer a choice of sparkling water or still. We were offered the choice without the mention that sparkling was a $7 bottle. The request for a small side of pasta was met with a children's dinner of rigatoni for $12, with a $2 additional charge for red sauce. Salad was a $2 up charge to share. Combined with services charges, it's hard to justify the cost of dinner in a semi- casual restaurant. read more

We made a reservation for 5:30pm the Saturday before Christmas. The dining room was already full when we arrived. We were greeted kindly and seated immediately. Unfortunately our table was right next to the door and the front desk. Our server was very attentive and helpful with questions about the menu and recommendations. The restaurant is loud so it was a little difficult to hear him. (It's also a little dark, at least were we were seated, as you can tell by the pictures.) We ordered appetizers as pictured. They were plated nicely and very tasty. Our entrees came out quickly after. Each dish was plated beautifully and flavors were spot on however portions are small. We did then have room for dessert. The dessert menu has a good assortment of options to please us all. The cannoli was our least favorite. Overall, we enjoyed our meal very much. We like the location on Main Street which made for an enjoyable family Christmas dinner event including walking the decorated streets after. My oh my, we had a very nice time here on a Saturday night. We did not have a reservation, but we were still warmly welcomed. To seat us faster, the sweet host suggested outdoor seating under the heat lamps. We decided to order and share appetizers. I can be a bit picky/selective because I don't care for a lot of meat. I'm not exaggerating in the slightest when I say that everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! The stuffed zucchini blossoms were lightly fried, and tasted sensational. The rice balls were crispy, savory, and satisfying. They peppers were hotter than I expected, they were SO good! I also enjoyed half of a meatball, which is not something I typically choose. Every bite, every morsel, even the delectable dipping sauces were wonderful. Even though it was a busy night, our server was very attentive, and checked in with us quite often. He not only kept the drinks and food flowing to our pleasure, he had an extremely fun and upbeat personality. I ordered an Espresso martini and my compliments to the bar tender. It was strong, smooth, wasn't too sweet and was the perfect accompaniment to round out the feast. I loved everything: the 5 star service, the delicious food, the fun atmosphere, the perfectly crafted cocktails, and heat lamps to keep us all comfy. I'll be back for sure. My favorite foodie (@fatkidcode on Instagram) asked me on a lunch date and of course we've been trying to explore more of downtown Pleasanton. We found this little joint, and thankfully they were open on a Monday. We started with some wine and some bread. After looking over the menu we decided shareables were where it's at! Our amazing waiter Andrew was super awesome. We saw the word "Coccole" and did not know how to say/order this item. Andrew was awesome and repeated it twice and told us what it actually meant. (It means cuddles... and the joke was, little pizza cuddles) We also ordered the meatballs, and Brussels sprouts! Literally cannot stop thinking about all 3. The Brussel sprouts had bacon in it, and were seriously cooked to perfection. The meatballs were a perfect shareable item and we even used the sauced for the "pizza cuddles". The Coccole was amazing, it had arugula, olives, burrata, Prosciutto, and the softest little bread knots. Everything mixed well together and I regret nothing! The service was amazing. The restaurant offers outdoor and indoor seating. Inside also has a little bar to sit and have a drink. I am mentioning this because the restaurant makes their own liquor! We tried the banana and chocolate flavored shots and holy hell... we were impressed! We appreciated everyone working that day. *Note* We didn't visit this restaurant. This review is about our experience of planning to go. We visit Rubino Winery in Pleasanton monthly for our wine membership pickup. Occasionally, afterwards we've headed over to Campo Di Bocce to enjoy a bottle of our wine with a meal (I can't remember if corkage was free or discounted for local wines). We've discovered that Campo Di Bocce is no longer in business and we were looking for a new spot to enjoy a bottle of our Rubino Winery Italian varietal wine. The menu here looked fantastic and they are located on our way home from the winery. We made a reservation. We called to ask their corkage price and were told it is $25. We asked if there is a discount for local wines and were told no. This is really disappointing and frankly, I feel is a bad business decision. As they don't have their wine list online, I did a quick look at their reviews for "wine". It appears their wine list is primarily wines from Italy, which is cool and I'm a huge fan of wines from Italy. However, I'm surprised, as another reviewer pointed out, that they don't offer wines from the local wineries doing Italian wines. When we learned of the $25 corkage we thought that maybe that meant they would have good pricing on bottles of local wine, but after looking at reviews, this doesn't appear to be so. Without having access to their wine menu and pricing prior to coming here, we decided to cancel our reservation. I hope this business rethinks their relationship with local wineries. read more

We walked in and were greeted immediately by an energetic and friendly guy named Andres. We asked to sit on the gorgeous decorated sunny patio. He came back to check on us shortly after and took our order. We asked for no cheese suggestion since my finance doesn't eat dairy. Andres suggested we not alter the pesto pizza because it needs the cheese to balance the dry pesto and suggested the marinara pizza as comes without cheese. We also got calamari, salad and butternut squash ravioli. We asked for a wine suggestion as well and it paired perfectly with our full meal. It was dinner time and there were lots of parking options. Full bar and the bartender made great drinks all night. Service was fantastic. There was always someone checking on us, filling water glasses, and clearing away dishes. Now for the food... I ordered brussel sprouts, the famous L'oro Di Napoli pizza and Limoncello cake for dessert. Brussel sprouts were amazing 10/10 Only thing I would change is crispier bacon but that's just my personal preference. L'oro Di Napoli 3/10 Unfortunately this dish was disappointing. It was undercooked and very bland. There was no flavor to the tomato sauce. A couple coworkers tried it and agreed it was not good. Limoncello cake 7/10 Great tasting cake but extremely sweet.
