Came here for a family dinner and it was a nice location in downtown Pleasanton. We were seated outdoors, which was nice on a pleasant Saturday evening. A little bummer that bread service is an added cost here but the food was good. We started with brussels sprouts and shared a pizza. Both were good! I got the Tagliatelle Boscaiola and really enjoyed it. My dad really enjoyed his Brasato (short rib), it was cooked nice and tender. Everyone enjoyed our experience here, the food was good and service was attentive!

Although I went here for the 1st time a few weeks ago, I came back here again for my parents anniversary dinner. We started off a fritto misto and zucchini flower (the name on the menu I am forgetting). The fritto was fine, but would have been better with a different sauce. The zucchini flower was amazing, I would go back just for that. For dinner, I ordered the brasato. The meat was perfectly cooked and practically well apart. It paired perfectly with the palenta. Our waiter was very attentive and provided god food and drink recommendations. We sat outside so the ambiance was very relaxed but still felt elevated. Still need to try the pasta from here so I will definitely be coming back! :)

My first time here at Locanda - I came with a long time friend who'd recommended it (a former colleague whom shares my affinity for italian cuisine). My first impression was how lovely the decor was. The color pallet makes the restaurant so inviting and the addition of colorful tiles and plate settings add a sophisticated contrast. 10 out of 10 on the interior design! The service was friendly and our meals were served quick. They were also beautifully plated and reasonably portioned. The dish I'd ordered suited my taste well - I absolutely enjoyed it. Would I come back? 100%

Went around 6:30 pm on a Tuesday and was pretty packed. They told us they couldn't seat us inside anymore until like another hour (there were tables open inside the entire time we were there) The server was excellent and the food came out SO fast. Like it was instant!! We got the calamari, marg pizza, and penne vodka pasta. The calamari was delicious but the mains felt short. The marg pizza was just okay. The sauce was delicious but I don't like soggy pizzas. The pasta I did some modifications- no cheese but subbed tomatoes and basil. The sauce was incredibly bland. I had to add salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and even more salt before I actually tasted a bit of flavor which was disappointing. The dessert was the best part. Limencello cake was incredible and worth the bland food. Chocolate cake was also delicious.

Always a great time at Locanda. When they know who you are because you're a regular customer, they treat you like family. Even when I'm walking down the street, they will greet me and say hello. Sometimes, a hug. Food is always good. Love the Frito Misto and the Margarita pizza. We tried a new pasta: fettuccini with zucchini. Tastes like cacio e pepe. Rich and cheesy. The triple chocolate cake was delicious! Cocktails are always amazing because Tomaso is the best bartender! All his cocktails are fabulous! Try the Negroni, Gimlet Mare, Amalfi Garden, Tommy 2.0, and my favorite: La Grande Mela. Service and atmosphere is always wonderful! They always check on you - water, take plates away, see how the food is, etc. This is why I love coming back to Locanda Amalfi!

Dinner and drinks at this cute restaurant located in downtown Pleasanton. We loved the Antipasta Locanda and ordered extra bread on the side. The pappardelle bolognese was amazing and perfect for sharing. The meat on the brasato was slightly fatty, but overall had good flavoring. Drinks were made well, so we ordered a second round.

Smack dab on Main Street, Pleasanton sits a quaint Italian (Napoli) restaurant with outdoor seating to enjoy some of the best weather in the world. We were promptly seated on a Sunday evening and served water. The menu had a decent selection with everything made in house. Both salads were flavorful and I have to say that I don't like beets, but these were well done. The bolognese wasn't as healthy as I expected but these noodles were amazingly well made and cooked. I'm very much looking forward to coming back to enjoy downtown Pleasanton while imbibing in wine, food and laughs.

I had a great experience! My server Nico was very attentive and enhanced the atmosphere. The bread basket felt dry since there was no oil or anything to dip it in. The pasta was very tasty and I would recommend. The tiramisu was okay I was a bit disappointed with the flavor and the presentation.

To celebrate my FIL's birthday, we decided on Locanda Amalfi in Pleasanton. Our reservation was for 7PM and we were seated immediately. This restaurant fired on all cylinders. From the straight forward menu, the cute atmosphere, great food and amazing service, our entire party was satisfied. For starters, we were treated to Foccacia bread with pesto. The warmth and lightness of this bread was very comforting. Add on the pesto sauce for that extra flavor kick. Our drinks and appetizers came out shortly after. I was really impressed with the speed of service. For such high quality food & beverages, the turn around time was quick! The special old-fashion that had a hint of coffee flavor was refreshing and unique. To put it bluntly, this was one of the best old-fashion's I've ever had! Water was continually being refilled by one of the staff members. My main course consisted of the beets salad with an add-on of grilled shrimp for protein. My waiter made this suggestion and I'm glad he did. It was delicious and fulfilling. The servings here are generous and plenty. Nobody left the restaurant hungry, I can tell you that much. The food shined but so did our waiter; very friendly, accommodating, generous and overall a pleasant individual to work with. He taught us a little bit about Italy and other random food & drink facts. It was a pleasant evening and I look forward to coming back!

True authentic Italian restaurant located in downtown Pleasanton. The restaurant ambiance is wonderful from the blue, yellow, and bright colors really make it feel as if you're in Amalfi. There's outside seating, inside seating and a small bar section seating. The food is fresh, you can tell they make the pizza dough and pasta from scratch. They make one of the best Caesar salads we've all ever tasted, the tiramisu had the perfect balance!, the kids plates were huge, my family also loved the eggplant Parmesan, and the gnocchi mamma Carmella Aka truffle gnocchi was top notch! Will definitely be visiting again.

    #5 Pizza in the WORLD

Wow! What an incredible experience. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the attention to detail. The Mediterranean vibe, complete with decorative tiles and lemons adorning the walls. This all set a warm and inviting tone. Our server greeted us immediately and was exceptionally friendly, offering personal recommendations from the menu. His enthusiasm made us feel right at home. We came specifically to try the award-winning Margherita pizza, ranked #5 Neapolitan pizza in the world. It absolutely lived up to the hype. Its simplicity was its strength: the San Marzano tomato sauce was rich and flavorful, topped with creamy Fior di Latte cheese and fresh basil. The crust was perfectly baked with a crunch. I'd return just for this pizza alone. We also ordered the Locanda Salad, which might be one of the best salads I've ever had. The base of crisp butter leaf lettuce was complemented by artichokes, watermelon radish, Marcona almonds, goat cheese, and a light vinaigrette. It was incredibly refreshing and would pair beautifully with any of their white wines. Overall, we had an amazing experience and can't wait to come back to try more pizzas, and definitely to enjoy that salad again.

The food really delivers. The special, chicken thighs stuffed with smoked ham, was standout and memorable. The margarita pizza is exactly what you want it to be. It is simple, well executed, and perfect for sharing. Do not let the "small" size fool you. It is easily enough for two, maybe even three if you are catching up over drinks. Portions across the board are generous. The fish entrees are especially impressive. The salmon alone felt like it had to be close to half a pound. All of this comes at prices that feel more than fair for the quality and quantity you are getting. This is definitely a spot worth returning to. He was welcoming, never rushed us, and even surprised our daughter with a complimentary birthday dessert after learning we were celebrating. That thoughtful gesture was the highlight of the evening.
