This place is super cute. We made reservations 2-1/2 weeks ago for my besties bday. She wanted something that would go with our wine tasting. We were running a bit late but they were able to move our reservations 30 mins later. We choose to sit outside. It was a bit too sunning to sit in there patio/lounge area. The staff tried to move the patio umbrella's around but we ended up just moving to their outdoor seating area instead. We tried their salmon, sea bass entree, and had beignets for dessert. It tasted ok, healthy. Their drinks were nice and strong, the waiter also gave us 2 half shots of limoncello for her birthday. Overall good experience. read more

Locanda Wine Bar is definitely a wine bar. The drinks are great and they have a wide selection of wine. Food was ok. To start, for the table they gave us bread and some olive puree spread. Olive spread was good but bread was so hard its almost stale. So we asked our server if they have fresh bread because our bread was stale. He quickly said he will give us the crostini. To our surprise at the end of the meal he charged us for the crostini that we didn't even asked for nor even touched because it was almost burnt. Don't offer something then charge us for what we didn't ask for. All we wanted was fresh bread not stale bread. Our meal: Steak Florentine 3/5 it was cooked to our liking and taste ok. The meat was not something outstanding for $47.00 I expected better. Lasagna - 3/5 they drenched the plate with sauce that's fine but very small lasagna drowned in the sauce. Branzino - 3/5 the fish was a good size and taste good. The salad that came with it was super sour it didn't go well with the fish. The Brussels sprouts was good. Caesar salad - 4/5 good enough it had fresh shaved parmesan, croutons was good the salad was fresh. Overall, food was ok, drinks great. If you want good food go somewhere else just come here for drinks after all its a wine bar. We all agreed we will not come back here. Let me start off with the positives, welcoming host, nice ambiance, excellent wine. Our server came across very green, lacked communication skills, and kept telling our table conflicting information. For example, statng something wasn't available when it was. Then we received our food. I ordered the GF Margherita, others ordered a basic two topping pizza and Gnocchi. We could have broken a window with the crust from our pizzas. Eztremely overcooked. Lastly we ordered the chocolate Raspberry cheesecake for my grandmothers birthday, which was noted in the reservation. The server said nothing about her bday and just set the dessert on the table with spoons and walked away. Overall experience was below our expectations and nowhere near the service I experienced at the Danville location. The cooks and servers need much more training. read more

The day dawned, sunny and bright on Mother's Day and Locanda was the perfect spot! We chose to dine on the patio and I'm glad we did. The wine was chilled perfectly and the mock tail was the best. The rustic bread and tapenade was a nice segue into the zucchini squash blossoms and jumbo prawns. Every bite of the salmon was succulent. We kicked off a friends' day with a lovely lunch here before wine tasting. From the start, I loved the authentic environment, including an obviously important football game that the staff were keeping an eye on. We started with a pitcher of aperol spritz and two orders of the Insalate Locanda to share. They pre-split the salads and it was plenty for the four of us. For our mains, my lunch companions had Carpaccio Di Carne, Margherita pizza, and meatballs. The pizza is definitely shareable, we each enjoyed a leftover slice that afternoon. I was intrigued by one of their specials -- tuna lasagna. It wasn't something I had ever heard of, and also not something I ever see myself making at home, so that was an easy pick. It was really good, reminded me of a fancy, Italian tuna melt. I think that and the Carpaccio were the clear favorites at our table. Service was fantastic and I loved the space, which includes a large outdoor covered patio. Now that I know they have other locations, the closer to home locations in Danville and Lafayette are definitely on our to-try list! read more

I wanted to like this spot so badly, but my family and I will not be back. At 7:30 on a Saturday night, most of their items were unavailable. The best part of this spot was the drinks, and our server Sarah was professional and an absolute doll -- she did everything she could in her power to elevate our experience, and even brought out a free dessert for us after our disappointing dining experience (gotta say, the limoncello cake was delicious). The pizza crust tasted over salted, both Caesar salads had stale croutons and dressing that tasted like gritty eggs, my mom ordered the salmon dinner which came with no sides and was RAW, and my cannelloni noodles were over cooked as was my dad's ahi! Our server took half of the meal off our check, and didn't even blink when my mom mentioned the salmon -- she was SO helpful and understanding as my mom was on the verge of tears (my mom is a literal angel & she hates complaining -- we know how hard the service industry is). The prices for this place are far too steep to be slipping in quality like this, and none of us left this restaurant feeling satisfied. I think I just found one of my favorite wine bars EVER. To all ya'll trying to go on a first date and want those good, flirty vibes with the bumpin' music and great hospitality from the staff--THIS IS THE PLACE. Not only do they have a great wine list (and cocktail list), but their food is so fricken good too! I've had my fair share of wine bar experiences where the wine list isn't that impressive, or the food is just subpar with a basic charcuterie menu--BUT NOT THIS PLACE! Also, their hours on the weekend are until midnight too, so if you want to stay out late in Livermore at a sit down, this is a great spot! My husband and I sat at the bar on a Friday night and were immediately given menus, water, and bread with an olive tapenade FO FREE. The olive tapenade was SO good. There's no salt in it at all, it's just pure deliciousness from the natural olives. Big fan. We got a couple refills on the bread throughout the night, which made this place a huge win in our book. We also loved the atmosphere, the decor, the music, the people. It just felt very alive inside (you also have the option of sitting outside too, which had v cute vibes as well with string lights if you want that too!) What did we order?! For drinks: I got the Laconda Rossini (REAL STRAWBERRY PUREE INSIDE!) and a glass of the Sauvignon Blanc (crisp, slightly dry, tasted like green apples to me. Loved it!) My husband ordered an Italian wine: Brunello Di Montalcino (at $23/glass). It definitely reminds me of a pinot noir, and it is SO easy to drink. My husband really liked that our bartender gave us a tasting before. For food: We ordered the tuna tartar and LEMME TELL YA--I thought it was great. Good portions and great presentation. GET THIS. I love the vibe of this place. It's so casual but classy at the same time. Their meatballs are so freaking good it's unreal! I've been here 3 times and have only sat on the outdoor patio so I cant really say much about the inside other than it looks crowded. The outside is PERFECT during summer or winter. Their drinks are all delicious especially the Espresso Martini. All the servers are super friendly and attentive. I would have to say that their service is probably the best part of the dining experience. We ordered the meatballs, Brussels sprouts, Zucchini blossoms and a margherita pizza. Everything was amazing and flavorful except the pizza. The bread was super soggy in the middle and the toppings kept falling off from the dough floppy and almost raw. Pretty disappointing; the server said we should have ordered it "Well done" but I dont think we should have to specify that our pizza be "well done". It should always be well done. What a transformation! What a beautiful spot! Such an attentive and kind staff. My partner and I tried out the new renovated spot and we're pleasantly surprised. Livermore loves our outdoor dining on first street and this location will be no different. (When the construction is done for the new park it'll be even better - prime downtown views) The staff was very kind and attentive and were obviously trying hard to make sure the first few days were running smoothly. One especially exuberant staff member was very sweet with his Italian singing and it was quite entertaining. Food was definitely made to share and definitely the Italian I prefer. Fresh and summer type plates and not the awful heavy sauce laden type of Italian. I never order froze normally but this one seemed elegant and not like other places. I'm also a sucker for grapefruit. I am reviewing the two times I have walked into Laconda in Livermore. Several months ago I approached Laconda close to 8 pm. I was walking from the street about 20 yards from the entrance and a waiter yelled out "WE ARE CLOSED BYEEEE, Unless you want to buy a drink we are closed!" Instead of allowing me to walk to the front desk to ask for availability I was screamed at in the street. Everyone in the establishment heard, I then walked away and chose another restaurant. A very rude way to approach potential guests. Tonight, I tried Laconda again. It was myself and a family member. The two of us were brought to an outside table in the very corner of the restaurant. I am disabled from a drunk driver 6 years ago and have had a recent knee surgery. I walk with a crutch and have a large knee brace. At our table my guest was facing the sun and could not see without the menu blocking the sun from her eyes. I was in pain because I was unable to stretch out or elevate my injured leg. I asked the food runner if we could please sit in a seat where I could elevate my leg and my guest wouldn't be in the sun. I had noticed while walking through the restaurant there were multiple seats available outside. The restaurant was not full at all. The same server that had yelled at me months prior approached us and said "There are no seats outside, you can sit inside." I then said "okay I will be leaving then." On my way out I pointed to each table that was available for us to sit in outside that he did not offer to us. Laconda in Livermore has employed people who are disrespectful and do not care about the well-being of their guests. I have tried Laconda twice and have been disrespected twice. Being a disabled person I would hope that an establishment would be accommodating and respectful of peoples needs. This has not been the case. I will never return. read more

Went for a business lunch, the staff is very friendly, but do not go there if you are hungry. The plates are EXTREMELY small, and not inexpensive. The food was good, but all of the lunch entrées were essentially an appetizer. The bread for the table, which included what appeared to be a Kalamata olive tapenade, was delicious. When my clients and I were about to start our lunch entrées, we all agreed we would need to put in an order for a pizza to be satisfied at all. I ordered brussel sprouts, these were more on the softer side. I would rate them a 6/10. I love my brussel sprouts more on the crisper side. For Valentine's Day I ordered the Ravioli Cupido. Amazing! The pasta itself you can find at Costco during Valentine's season. But the dressing they made....like no other!! I ordered the Veuve Clicquot, which is a sparkling. The bartender recommended it and it did not disappoint. The inside had a few selection of tables but plenty room at the bar.
