We had a free appetizer coupon and ordered the Texas Tonion. For entrees he ordered a 12 oz New York strip steak with baked potato and salad and I ordered the 10oz salmon that comes with seasoned rice, a baked potato, and salad. Fresh bread and butter was served, also. The Texas Tonion arrived quickly: hot and delicious. NOT GREASY! I prefer ranch dressing rather than the dip provided and Melannie brought it quickly. The salads were out fast. Tasty. The entrees were delivered long enough after the appetizer and salads so we didn't feel rushed. NICE! I don't enjoy starting an app or salad only to have my hot entree placed in front of me. Good timing here! So, that being said, my potato was warm not hot. His potato was hot and a little dry. His steak was delicious, seasoned nicely without an overabundance of salt, and cooked medium rare as he asked. My salmon was perfect. Again not overly salted but perfectly seasoned. The rice was good. It was a very enjoyable lunch. The atmosphere is conducive for conversation; we didn't have to yell over the music to be heard. Melannie was very attentive, checking back frequently, and brought another soda before I needed to ask. The only other cons, hence the 4 stars, is that my menu was filthy. I asked for a clean one and the hostess found 2 more that were dirty before handing me a clean one. Also, his fork had food stuck to it and my steak knife was greasy before I used it. Came here for dinner on a Sunday night around 5 and it was busy, but we had no wait at all. We started with the warm bread and butter (always a win) and ordered the stuffed mushrooms to share. I had a margarita, Caesar salad, and the filet with a loaded baked potato. The bread and salad being included with the meal was a nice touch. Service was very friendly and our food came out surprisingly fast, especially considering how busy it was. The restaurant was very clean, with western-style décor and low lighting inside, which I personally prefer. There's also plenty of parking. Overall, a solid experience. Everything was waaay too salty, it was like the steakhouse version of Olive Garden. My sad flat ribeye steak was more fat than meat. One steak order was overcooked. Typical chain restaurant fare at best. The service however was really good, and they were super quick and friendly about fixing the overcooked steak, but I don't think I'll give them a second go. read more

We came in today for my mother in law's birthday. This is our go to spot for family events. We have a few picky eaters in our family but this joint seems to make everyone happy. Yessy took care of us today, there were 10 of us. Of course we were all separate bills and some of the little older ladies with us were kinda needy but she handled it like a boss! She got all of our orders taken, fresh bread dropped off and drinks filled while we were waiting for our food. I ordered a side strawberry pecan salad with a lobster and a side of asparagus today. Surprisingly it's a good amount of food for me. The salad was so good! It was my first time having it and was delicious! The strawberries, grapes, feta and vinegrett went all so well together! It's one of my favorite salads now. My lobster was cooked nicely. My asparagus was on the softer side but still tasty. The salad was such a nice amount that I ended taking my asparagus home cause I couldn't finish it. We ended lunch with a huge birthday dessert. Initially my mother in law wanted to take it home. Yessy forgot and plated her birthday dessert. We shared that thick chocolate cake with the creamy chocolate moose and man it was so good! It also came with a side of ice cream. It was hard to not have a lot of it! That bad boy is over 2400 calories! You know it's going to hit if that's 2 days of your caloric intake! Yessy acknowledged that she messed up and gave my mother in law another side of dessert to take home, how sweet! She got us all separated with our bills, checked out and boxed up! My husband and I love the weekday lunch specials here and since I had a day off, we took the opportunity to visit. The place was relatively busy for lunch hour, but we were promptly seated and able to order immediately. I ordered the grilled chicken and strawberry salad lunch order that comes with a side of soup; loaded potato soup was an easy choice. Hubby ordered the crispy ranch chicken sandwich with fries. Both items are affordable lunch options! We first received crispy crusty bread as a pre-meal tummy stuffer. Cutting the bread blasted crumbs all over the table and the extra cold butter was hard to spread, but the bread was quite hearty and deliciously soft. We quickly received our meals, though my husband's sandwich came without the ranch dressing inside. We had to wait a while until the server returned to the table and another 3 or so minutes until our server returned with mayo (since there was no ranch, he just replaced with mayo instead). Luckily after all that time, his sandwich was pretty warm, as was my soup...so it was a minor inconvenience. This salad was scrumptious...you could taste every element from the freshest strawberries, tender chicken, crispy lettuce, plump grapes, candied pecans, generous feta and a tangy raspberry vinaigrette. I couldn't stop yummmmming all through my salad. The soup was okay...loved the bacon crumbles and green onions, but the potatoes were scarce and it didn't wow me. It may have been a "me" issue. I had a Berry Sangria...very berry good. I finally found a place that understands just how to cook a steak... rare, medium rare, medium and well done. Our waitress was super nice and right on time with everything, even bringing us more of their incredible bread. I've eaten here a few times. Pretty much any time I am in the Boise area. The place is an institution and has amazing steak. I usually go for the prime rib which is always cooked to perfection. Not at all inexpensive as you might expect. You won't get much change from a Grant. The place is usually packed and especially on a Sunday evening for some reason. This restaurant reminds me of Cattleman's Steakhouse in California when I was younger. It was saved for special occasions and was worth every penny. Now that I live in Boise, ID I had to find a good steakhouse, and this is it!!! We usually go on a Saturday evening around 6:00pm, which is always busy so a wait for a table is to be expected (3-person party). The decor is a very "classy" cowboy vibe which we enjoy. The waitresses/servers are always very nice. However, depending on how extremely busy they are, it could take 30-45 minutes to get your food. Even things like soup or salad can take 15-20 minutes to receive. But it has always been worth the wait! They serve warm bread and butter, which my 5 yo son mysteriously enjoys ALOT! Maybe it's cutting with the knife he likes so much....Haha. The mixed drinks are fabulous. We get the Strawberry margarita (long pour) and the Moscow Mule. My son says the chocolate milk is superb! ;) We always order steaks. We enjoy the Renegade sirloin with Red rock grilled shrimp plate with rice pilaf and veggies. The shrimp's flavor is soooo good! You will be addicted to them in no time. We also have an Outlaw Ribeye with an Idaho loaded baked potato and steakhouse mac and cheese. The potato is crispy and topped with tons of toppings. I also order a luscious mixed greens salad with blue cheese dressing that I absolutely LOVE! My son orders the kids chicken tenders and fries, and let me tell you they are very GOOD. My girlfriend and I decided to come to the Longhorn steakhouse for a great steak salad. That's exactly what we got. Rita love the peppered steak on her salad and I liked that they were able to take some of the pepper off for me and make it just like I requested. The service was awesome. We had the best waiter I've ever had. My gosh, his name was Anthony Bole, and he had a great personality as well. He brought us extra dressings on the side and any other request that we had that were special and out of the ordinary. I guess I'm trying to say that he was awesome. I will definitely be back to this restaurant when I have a chance because the food was great and the ambience was nice and when we had such a special waiter, how could you not return? My sister asked to join her for dinner. I got there, and the place was pretty packed. My sister was bragging about the Cesar salad and how good it was. Our server came over, greeted me, and got me my soda water with lemon. I ordered a steak with a baked potato and the Cesar salad, which it was very good it was a fresh salad, and the croutons had a good crisp flavor. The server was busy, but he managed his time well. The Baked potatoes must have been left over from the day before, Easter. Skins were hard and chewy. Even the second one they brought. Fries were cold and my rice with the salmon dinner was chewy. (Undercooked) When asked the server for certain things I got a glare like it was a bother. Never asked to refill our sodas. No mgr ever came by to see how things were or why food was returned. Wow, half pound cheese burger, yes please. This is a solid burger, fills the bun completely. It's served with lettuce, tomato and onion. We ordered this to go for lunch and it was a total surprise, $9.99 and it comes with a side. We got stuffed baked potatoes but no way could we eat those with the huge burger. If you haven't tried this place do yourself a favor. For $10 you get a ton of food. It's fresh and truly you won't find a better burger anywhere. First time here on a slow Monday night. I was excited for a steak lobster birthday dinner. Server was very friendly. I ordeded a small beer she apologizes and says she brought me a large(no biggie right)...until the bill comes and I was charged for the item I didn't order or even finish. Next comes the salads no bread? 5 mins into the salad comes the meals(that was awfully quick) my steak comes WITHOUT my lobster :( so hear I am eating my warm steak without the lobster, that finally comes after my entire meal is done! All 3 of our steaks were warm at best, not cold but slightly warm as were my daughters shrimp....I will say however the meat did have good flavor. Would I try this place again? Maybe probably. At $40 a plate I'd like to have all my items ordered correct and served hot. read more

It is owned by Darden Restaurants, Inc., which owns and operates a number of other popular restaurants, including their recent acquisition, Ruth's Chris Steak House. I have visited Longhorn Steakhouse four times. The first two visits were for lunch. The first time, I ordered a Burger with a side of French Onion soup. The second time, I ordered a Crispy Buttermilk Chicken sandwich with French fries. Both times, the food was very good and well priced. The service and ambience were excellent! The third time, I did a take out order of French Onion soup and a small Caesar salad. The soup tasted good, but I don't recommend getting French onion to go. I didn't care for their version of a Caesar salad. These photos are from my fourth visit, a dinner with KM: We started by sharing an appetizer of Texas Tonion ($8.99) - Crispy battered onion petals, served with zesty dip. It was excellent! We both French Onion soup ($5.49). KM's French Onion soup was excellent, but mine wasn't very flavorful. I brought this to our servers attention. She returned my soup to the kitchen and brought out another one. The second time around, it was great! We both ordered 20 oz. Outlaw Ribeye steaks ($30.29) with a side and salad. We both ordered Loaded Idaho Baked Potatoes as our side, and Mixed Green Salads with Blue Cheese dressing. Both of our steaks were cooked to perfection. They were delicious! We had to request a little extra butter and sour cream for our baked potatoes, which our server brought us at no extra charge. They were very good. The salads were good. As always, the service and ambience were excellent! Longhorn Steakhouse's signature seasoning is a salt-based mix called "Prarie Dust", which they use on a lot of menu items. It is what your server is referring to when he/she tells you "We are known for our bold flavors." The first time I visited, my hamburger was very salty, as was my friend's steak. That's when I found out about Prarie Dust. Ever since then, I have requested that they use very little Prarie Dust and/or give it to me on the side. Since then, the food has been perfectly seasoned. That is what we requested when ordering our ribeye steaks. If you're looking for a well priced steak house with nice ambiance, great food and service, be sure to put Longhorn Steakhouse on your list.
