My friend and I ordered a salmon poke bowl and aina combo for lunch! There was plenty of parking available in front, but as with any barbecue restaurant, you'll want to call your order in ahead of time. I think we waited about 20 - 30 minutes for our order, which is average, but could've been avoided if we planned better, haha. For the poke, I got the limu sauce (my go-to). It was good, but I was still hungry after, so I feel like I could've ordered a musubi to supplement my meal as well. Went for lunch. Totally understood that they're short staffed and were patient. We ordered combo lunch plates (as shown in pic). While it was tasty, it was quite dry. I'm not sure what would help? Extra sauce? My hubby said that his beef almost tasted like jerky. Prices and portions were great for the price. The musubi was good, but wished a thicker slice of spam, but I get it. Maybe a little more teriyaki sauce, like I said, a little dry, The Mac salad was good, it wasn't super sweet like some of the other places we have been. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and helpful with my selection. I ended up ordering the combo plate that had chicken katsu and Hawaiian BBQ chicken. Ahhh.. The vibes were good and the service was quick to take our order, which was a nice start. Unfortunately, the poke wasn't ready until 12 PM, which was a bit of a letdown. The loco moco was extremely dry, almost like they forgot the most important ingredient the gravy on the patties entirely, or barely added any at all, beef patties were over cooked and tough. I was really craving the beef ribs from 808 so I ordered 3 plates of it to feed my family. I was literally in shock when I opened the first box. 2 out of the 3 ribs were meatless. Like someone ate all the meat and they sent me the bones. The third rib barely had any meat at all on it either. The second box I opened, the meat was incinerated, completely burned. I don't mind the char, that makes bbq delicious. These ribs were burned, dry, and bitter. My third dinner box had 3 decent ribs but they were not great either. There was scarce meat and it was overcooked, but not burned. I don't know what happened but it was too late to get the kids a new dinner this night and we were all disappointed. When we finally did, we were not disappointed, first of all, great price. Taste was really good, the beef rib was somewhat meaty, fall off the bone, bbq'd in a sweet teriyaki sauce, the bbq chicken was a little on the dry side, and kalbi was good, above average. Tha macaroni salad was just ok, a little to much on the sweet side for my likings. With the sweet teriyaki flavor of the meat, with sweet macaroni salad, it was too much sweet, the white rice helped to calm & reset your taste buds. Where's the gravy??? Went to get breakfast and got the killa loco, it is pretty much their loco moco add Portuguese sausage and spam. The least amount of gravy I've ever gotten on a loco moco, legit I didn't think it had any and called them because I was about to go back and ask them to fix it. It turns out it did have gravy all the way at the bottom, covering only about half of my rice. The gravy in and of itself isn't the only problem though; my eggs were medium well so there was hardly any yolk, AND the patties and sausage were overcooked and dry. The saving grace of my meal was the rice and spam, which are hard to mess up, and the mac salad which is incredible. My girlfriend got the regular loco moco; her eggs and patties were also overcooked, and she also had barely any gravy. The customer service was acceptable. read more

Laid back vibes with friendly staff and fresh poke! I've been to 808 about three times, and have always ordered their poke bowls (more like plates, they're portions are very big). Last night in particular, I stopped by for a quick dinner and ordered their signature poke bowl (mixed greens base, seaweed salad and cucumber for sides, with spicy mayo tuna and ginger tuna). I wish the poke cuts are a tad bigger, because the cubes were rather small. I definitely prefer the spicy mayo over the ginger, and I think ginger tuna would've gone really well with a bowl of rice which I didn't order. Service is always friendly and staff are very patient. Although I always end up getting the poke because it's always fresh and delicious, they're very friendly. Both very good, however I think the beef ribs were lacking a bit of flavor in the middle and Kalbi was not as tender as I would have expected it to be. I leave nothing on the bones and this Kalbi, it was difficult to do so. Is that from the amount of time to cook or the quality of the meat. I did like the authentic taste to it, so I'm sure I'll be back.
