Holy cake tasting!!! First of all, this tiny little cake joint is in the cutest area with so much charm. In fact, our entire experience was charming. We had the extreme pleasure of meeting Mama Loft22 (the owner's mom) and her granddaughter. I had read online that cake tastings were only available if the wedding was 100 or more people. Ours is less than 1/2 that so, we went in and bought a slice of every cake available which meant we brought home SIX slices, pictured below. Hands down and unanimously, the White Amaretto AND the Strawberries and Champagne, were our faves. Not too sweet, icing isn't too heavy and the flavoring is oh so delicate. Those are wedding picks. If it was a birthday cake, we all leaned towards the Cookie Monster or, even better, the amazing Mint Chocolate Chip. The owner's mom was just the sweetest, friendliest woman. Oh my gosh! Add Loft22 Cakes to your list of places to try when you need to satisfy your sweet tooth. I couldn't decide what to get so I ordered one of everything that they were offering on this particular day. They had chocolate birthday, vanilla birthday, orange sherbet and strawberry margarita cupcakes. They also had a butterscotch banana pudding that is THE BOMB! It was perfection! I highly recommend them! They were so friendly and worth every penny! I was told by the owner that the orange sherbet is their best seller and it tastes just like a dreamsicle. Well...it does! Oh my gosh! I'm not even a dreamsicle type of girl, but it was definitely my favorite cupcake from my batch. I picked up the strawberry cake last weekend for a surprise party, I couldn't run in to get it because I just had a pedicure (poorly timed). This was a VERY disappointing experience. My sister needed a cake for a christening/ 1st birthday and provided the picture on the left along with an explanation of what we wanted. She asked that it not have any flowers or macrons and that the colors be ombré. Upon pick up there was no one to consult about the poor outcome of the cake and she was forced to take this home. As soon as the cake made it home the cross broke into pieces. This cake was needed for a very special event and the cake was supposed to be a wow factor. I reached out to inquire and was told to take screenshots of cakes I like, email and I could get a quote... okay, not the most personable service, but whatever. So I called to order a tasting box. It cost me $30 for what I thought would be 6 flavors ($5 each) and they had my pay over the phone when I ordered it but said it would be available until a week later. When I showed up to pick it up, the door was locked, the people inside saw me at the door but never came to the door to ask why I was there. I had already tried calling and it went to voicemail. When I tried again and explained why I was there they asked me which flavors I had ordered.... are you kidding me? I've been here for 30 mins now waiting on something I ordered and paid for last week. I've gotten tasting boxes from other bakeries that have included more flavors and cost less. I've gotten cake from here a few times and they were good. It wasn't anything custom just an average cake nothing special. The cake was fresh and everyone at the event seemed to like it. Picking up the cake was a breeze I saw other reviews complaining about the pick up process but I guess I came on a good day. So, we ordered a custom cake for our son's 11th birthday and requested a gaming theme in the flavor milk and cereal, and gave them creative freedom over the design. We paid exactly $195. I go to pick up the cake and it's their specialty cake with a Xbox fondant game controller on top and play station buttons on the front of the cake. I was pissed. I call the store and express that we ordered and paid for a custom cake not one of their specialty cakes. The owner comes out side and says "That's what happens when you give creative control, you may or may not like it". I told her that's the problem, it's lacking the creative part and is not a custom birthday cake. She goes on to tell me she doesn't want me to think all they did was put a controller on top of their specialty cake, and I'm told her well that's exactly what you did and charged me for a custom cake. She recommends adding some color buttercream to the cake and I agree for the sake of trying to improve the experience, but that only made the sloppily made fondant pieces slip off. Now get this, it's the day of the party so we have no time to order or get another cake so I have no choice but to take the cake. We cut into the cake and it's not the flavor we ordered. I was pissed. We ordered the cereal and milk flavor and got vanilla or plain white cake, couldn't quite tell. Very disappointing experience, I had high hopes for this bakery and hoped they'd be my go to spot. The owner had no accountability and refused to acknowledge they'd done a poor sloppy job. The first picture is their specialty cake, which if I had ordered that would of been $75. The second picture is the supposed custom cake we paid $195. Mins you the blue/green color was added only after I complained, otherwise it would of looked identical to the first picture. "Absolutely superb" does not even begin to describe the talents of Loft 22 Cakes. I found this company on Instagram, after scrolling through the local foodie profiles, and I'm glad I did! I am the Office & Marketing Manager for a local architecture firm and was planning the 25 year anniversary event when I hit a brick wall on where to get the cake. I had tried a couple of the cake places in the area and they were simply not up to par. One day, while scrolling my profile, Loft 22 showed up on my Instagram feed and I figured that it was worth a shot to try a taste of those beautiful cakes! We booked a tasting with Tareka, the owner of Loft 22. Tareka prepared us SIX different samples of cakes. As we were going over the cake design, I found myself having a difficult time concentrating as the cake was so good that my mouth was tingling! I was sold! We decided on a three tier cake, with two of those being the vanilla/peach preserve and one tier being chocolate. Loft 22 made the design process effortless, as Tareka made sure at every step that we were getting exactly what we wanted, and we did! I must note, this is not your average 3 tiered cake. Most large cakes are dry especially when they must hold up multiple tiers plus fondant. Tareka has perfected the art of a beautiful moist large-tiered cake. I don't know how she does it, honestly. Loft 22 delivered the cake earlier than the proposed 2 hours before the event, and we were stunned! The photos explain themselves, and we will be using Loft 22 for all of our future events! Side note: while we were having our tasting, we decided to grab lunch at Loft 22 as she had two sandwich options in addition to cookies, dog cupcakes, coffee, etc. We grabbed a couple of her chicken salad sandwiches on a croissant bun. I looove this place! For starters their staff is so nice. I have had about three different interactions with three different people, each time they were the most professional and the nicest. The first time, I ordered an orange sherbert cupcake and that was really good. This last time I went I ordered two slices of the BlackOut cake and it was sooo good. First someone placed us on hold then another person answered and we told both of them why we were here. Placed on hold again then another person answered and we told them the whole thing again. It was like know one knew what they were doing?? Finally the women on the phone states that we need to place our graduation cake order by email and send pics of designs we want...that's it, nothing more! Doesn't even try to get to us and and make an suggestions, nothing! BTW she never gave us an email. We looked on the website and still couldn't find. Had to call back again and ask for that. In the meantime we are waiting for the one sample we ordered. Took forever and you pay $7.00 for this huge stale piece of cake. I'm pretty business savvy and this whole process was a joke. Why wouldn't you just have certain days that you do sampling and sell maybe a small box of 4-5 flavors for your customers?? Also they are so worried about covid and have the doors shut but none of the workers coming to the door even had a mask on or if they did they were wearing it on their chin! Again none of this made sense! We took a few bites of the stale sample and were NOT impressed at all! Finally to top this whole ridiculous process off, as we were waiting for the sample my Daughter got the email and was placing her order. That was over a week ago and we still have not heard anything! I suggest you don't even waste your time with this place! Anyhow we ended up booking with another bakery (bakeology) in Keller Tx who actually wanted our business! I ordered a dozen of their super rich cupcakes for a small birthday party. Everyone loved them. They were also super nice.

I really think they mis-measured the sugar in my son's cake. I've never had a cake NOT taste sweet before. It was odd... it was supposed to be the Cookie Monster cake ... which you'd think would be sweet... we couldn't really find any cookie crumbs and the cake itself barely had sweetness, nor did the "signature mousse". I'm confused and disappointed. We had changed the color and added happy birthday and some cookie crumbs on the outside so it was $125 too.. a costly disappointment. I think we will have to find a different cake shop. So sad. read more

This was the very first shop I thought of when we started planning the wedding. I had walked by it one time and saw it, it was cute and home looking. Their desserts displayed looked amazing I called and purchased a cake tasting box over the telephone on a Friday and paid for it in full $30 with my CC. Was told it would be ready the following Friday at 1pm. The cake tasting box was described as getting 6 sample slices of six various flavors. The following Friday finally came I was so excited I rushed right over at 1pm during my 30min lunch. Only to be so so hugely disappointed. The young lady at the counter looked at me like I was crazy. Had no idea what I was talking about. And said there's no tasting box set out. And the older woman sitting in the front corner of the shop asked for my name, I could tell by HR voice it was her who I spoke to over the phone. But she had nothing in writing regarding my tasting box order. She took all my info again said she'd notate to give me a discount. By the time I was done talking to her. The young lady at the counter hands me a box of she says I out one together for you. I thank her and leave. Get home only to find out only three slices were in the box. Small, paper thin slices. With no way of knowing what flavors they were. I call them back to let them know this. She tells me the flavors and I tell her excuse me I paid for 6. She says it will be ready for you next Friday. We will call you for pick up time. It's been three weeks. Still no call. I called again today to follow up and only to get a statement that she would let the owner know to refund me. Huh? So no making up for it and giving me what I paid for? Just a refund and lose a customer. Beyond let down. Hopefully I get a call to let me know I was refunded. Shop around people.
