I have to give a big SHOUT OUT to these guys as they BLEW US AWAY on Veteran's day! My family and I (my wife and I are veterans) went to The Outback at around 5:30 for their Veteran's Day special. They were very busy and we were told a 45 minute wait....it was more like 30 minutes and we were a party of 5! We were seated and our server was there in no time...he had an excellent demeanor about him and everyone enjoyed his conversation and recommendations! The food came out EXACTLY as we ordered it! VERY few times has my steak been cooked this accurate to my liking. The burgers were perfectly cooked, juicy, cheesy...YUM! The restaurant was very busy but the ambiance was perfect! The service was excellent, our waitress was incredibly nice. However, the food was absolute garbage. I had an 18oz ribeye medium rare, it was cooked properly but the quality of the meat is less than you'd find at a grocery store. I cook, I cook a lot, and I do all the grocery purchases because it's something I like to do and am good at. I would never purchase this grade of meat for our home, never. The left over ribeye I took home, scrapped off all these useless and terrible seasons, rinsed it and gave it to my two dogs mixed in with their food. They both had diarrhea without b a couple hours. You can say it was the seasoning or, more likely, you could say it was the garbage meat, you decide. Went there to celebrate our 41st anniversary. Their coconut shrimp and dip was very good. My 6oz and other Fox items turned out pretty good too. My spouse opted for the chicken. We both saved half for leftovers at home. Bit pricy but we don't do this often. Our waitress was nice and quite on the ball. The ambiance - well, probably not ideal for celebrating one's anniversary but since we were inthe bar area, it's what canbe expected. Still, if that's to one's own choosing, still not bad. Absolutely love coming here on the daily! Food is delicious and hot and relatively quick to come out. Ambiance can be very noisy and hectic most days, however since it is quite a popular place, you'd expect that anywhere. Service can be either very good or very bad, depending on what days or what servers. Some days you could be waiting an hour or 5-15 minutes. Some waiters are very kind, others don't seem very happy, rushed, and stressed. That's is alright with me most of the time, because it's constantly flowing with so many people at once. We went to Olive Garden, but it was too crowded and the wait was too long. So, I suggested we go to Outback. That sure was a mistake. The food was terrible. How do you make a medium rare slice of prime rib and make it too tough to chew? The Mrs had the prime rib sandwich, but it was microwaved so the meat/cheese were on the cool side and the bread was too tough to chew. Her baked potato was good, though. Service was okay. The last time we went to the one off Foxcroft Road in Martinsburg, we appreciated the care from the waiter, gave us two loaves of warm bread rather than one, plenty of butter, drinks were immediate. Consistent. I order here often, never to dine in always to go. Everything is always consistent in that the food is good, fresh, in stock, and the service is efficient. I tend to do the ahi tuna app, kookabura wings, and I have had the kids meals also, my youngest thought the chicken strips were "spicy" I thought they were fine. Hadn't been here since months before Covid, and today thought I would give them a try. I called and was able to quickly & easily place my order. The lady gave me a wibdow for when it would be done, the details of my car, and my total. Twenty minutes later, I had a delicious Aussie Cob salad with the hot meat in a separate container from the cool salad, as well as extra dressing (I had forgotten to ask for it, yet there it was), a loaf of their good brown bread, and butter all nicely packaged to make it stay neat until I got home. Delicious and perfectly made. The staff I spoke to on the phone and in person, were very nice and polite. The pickup area was clearly marked and easy to get into. I understand that COVID changes things, HOWEVER, you should know tour menu items. I looked online and saw the Botany Bay Tilapia with Crab topping. I called to place my order and asked if they had it. I was assured they did. I picked it up - having paid the price for the crab topped dinner, get home and NO topping! I called and spoke to the manager who told me that it hadn't been on the menu for 2 years! He tried to blame it on a new server! Just a hint, if you have someone working and taking orders, they SHOULD know the menu or at least look at it! He also tried to blame it on "miscommunication", but the only thing miscommunicated was them charging me for the more expensive item KNOWING they didn't have it! To his credit, the manager tried to offer me something to make it right (hence the extra star), but I declined. This is the second time in a row that my order has been wrong. Excellent meal and excellent service! Food was hot, fresh and served quickly. The bloomin' onion was excellent as always, it's definitely a must have at any outback. Two different ribeye's ordered, the bone in was cooked to perfection and so was the bone-out ribeye. The Shrimp skewer was excellent! Both loaded baked potatoes were delicious and we were given a few refills on our water without having to ask for it. I dropped in for a late lunch at Outback after my spa day. Here's a run down of the experience. Food- 3 stars I ordered a cup or clam chowder and the grilled salmon with a side of broccoli, seasonal veggies and frilled shrimp. There was nothing amazing about the meal but it did the job of alleviating my hunger. Customer service - 5 stars My waitress was polite, gracious and accommodating. Other situations- 1 star While finishing my meal, one of the waiters approached adjacent to mine and was chatting with the couple. When I looked up, he was carrying two pieces of what appeared to be Ahi Tuna in his hands (in his bare hands... no gloves, no plates, NOTHING!!) Eeeewwww!!!! Only God knows where those hands were prior to holding that fish!!! I can understand that those may have been his friends and that he just wantes them to sample the dish but for CRYING OUT LOUD, DO IT THE RIGHT WAY. It scares me to think of how he handles food for other patrons. I will not be returning. read more

We went here on mother's day to enjoy a quick lunch. We made it just before the rush. The floor was a bit slippery as we walked to our table. The wait for food was not very long. The blooming onion was SO salty, we couldn't finish it. The coconut shrimp was the best thing we ate. The grilled salmon was VERY plain. Thank goodness for the pineapple sauce that came with the coconut shrimp. I put that on my salmon and that kind of saved the meal. Hubs steak was cooked perfectly and he enjoyed his whole meal. First visit here...apparently they have a special menu for Wednesday evenings only, with specials, 2 for $25 and 2 for $35. With each, you can choose from one of four entrees, an appetizer OR dessert (these are listed), a salad, and a side. We opted for the 8-oz prome rib on the 2 for $35 menu, bloomin' onion, french onion soup ($1 upcharge), side salad for me, steamed broccoli, and baked sweet potato. Lemme say that Nathaniel was spot on with service...friendly and "timing" was perfect. I gave him a much better than average tip. We arrived about 5:16 PM and were seated right away, but when we left one hour later, people had what appeared to be a short wait for a table (perhaps 10-15 minutes). I am generally not fond of chains, but this was one of our best outings in recent memory, for service, food quality, and value. Overall a good experience for a chain but the food was a bit lacking. We were seated quickly and the waitress was very attentive. The appetizer came out very quickly. It was the blooming onion and they are very good but let's face it kind of hard to eat. For our entrees I got the focaccia sandwich and my wife got the Parmesan chicken flatbread. They were both a bit bland. Mine was supposed to have aioli but if there was any I could not discern it. The portions were large and the prices were reasonable. Also the coffee was outstanding.
