Shout out to Hannah! She is by far the best waitress I have had at any restaurant in a long time. We had a table of 9, so it was a little difficult to manage at one time. We were staying at the Drury Inn next door to this restaurant. This particular chain isn't close to home, so we figured we'd give it a try. Normally, we would have just done the free dinner at the hotel, but it was still an hour away since we were in the Central Time Zone instead of Eastern here at home. Overall, the look and feel resembles that of Lone Star Steakhouse we have here at home. We came in around 4 pm and there was already a bit of a crowd here. The inside is similar to other steakhouses I've been to. We were seated right away when we came in. However, it did take a while for the server to come to the table (about 5 minutes after being seated). Once the server came to the table, she came over with peanuts and then asked for our drink orders. What surprised me at first was that you can just throw the peanut shells on the floor instead of in a bucket (here in Virginia Beach, it is against health code to do so). On this particular night (it was Friday, August 7, 2015), they did seem to be a bit understaffed for the crowd that was already there. Once ready to order, it took a little bit for the server to come back to us. At the same time, she brought out fresh rolls to the table. She explained that she had to wait for them to come up. I think the under staffing didn't help any with this. Once she came back though, she was on the ball. I had ordered the Smoky Mountain Chicken Sandwich with fries. I was surprised at how quickly the order came out. Overall, the sandwich was good and liked the smoky flavor to it. The portion of the fries though seemed small and some were cooked way too much. I didn't really say anything then since I could snack on stuff at the hotel when getting back over there. After the meal was finished and the plates already removed, a manager walked by to ask how everything was. I just said everything was okay and left it at that. Since I was sitting near the front of the restaurant, I was able to see a lot of what was going on that evening. I wanted to note some of the observations I saw during this visit. There was an empty table behind us at the time. When I looked back, it looked like some of the staff just sitting and chatting with each other at that table. I'm guessing they were bussers. There was also another gathering of the staff, including management from what I can see, just chatting away at the check in area to the restaurant as well. Although it may not have been much of a concern, it gives the perception that they don't care or don't want to be there. Perception is reality to us as a customer when coming in. Given the overall experience, I would give the place an overall three stars. Everything was good and there wasn't anything with a wow type factor for me to rate it above a three. read more

I came at 11:15 and was seated in the bar area was told by a friendly greeter that the bar area was the next server up's area. No other customers were in the section (perhaps none other in the restaurant). Several employees were standing around chatting and none greeted or waited on me. I asked the bartender for water and went to the restroom and when I came back, still no acknowledgment that I was there, much less water, and the employees were still ignoring me. I went to this location yesterday and was told that they were short of help so it would be a 20 minute wait. After waiting for a half hour I was seated and ordered a burger. The server said " Sorry, we are out of burgers". Why aren't patrons informed of what food is not available when they enter the restaurant? I had to wait 30 minutes only to be told that my food of choice was not available. This is extremely poor customer service but is typical of this Logan's. My last time at this location. read more

My husband and I stumbled upon this place on a work trip. Our server was Shuriak she was the sweetest since we got seated very attentive very friendly and welcoming. She took our orders right away brought us bread and drinks our food was in our table in less than 15 minutes as soon as we cut our steak omg it was perfect we are used to people over cooking our steaks but this time perfection we got ours with mushroom and onions perfect combination the onions had a sweet like taste and mushrooms also had a perfect taste not over cooked nor under cooked just right! For our steaks we didn't need to add any sauce to it! That's says a lot so no need to disrespect the steak with sauce... the Mac and cheese amazing! Totally home made style DIDNT taste frozen or boxed. mashed potatoes both regular and loaded since my husband chose loaded were also delish!!! I should have trusted the Yelpers. Food is low grade. Menus are greasy, I mean they actually have grease on them. I ordered their signature ribeye medium rare. There were some parts of the steak that were medium rare. Some parts were well done, some parts rare and some parts raw. I didn't bother to send it back because if you mess it up that badly the first time, you have no hope. Quality of the meat was super poor. I eat my steaks fairly bloody such as a medium rare or rare. I ordered this one medium rare it it came out still mooing back at me. I sent it back and asked to cook just a little more like a medium rare (which is what I ordered to begin with) and they brought me out a very well done steak. So that sucked to start with. Them the waiter was rude when I asked for a refill since we had not had one since getting our drinks and we were almost done with the meal. My wife's food was nasty and she didn't eat it at all. So we read the reviews and decided to give this place a try anyway. Glad we did. Kenya took great care of us even though she was crazy busy. Know at the get-go that this is a chain. Where do I begin. This place is a mess. Most chain places have bad reviews by people that have improper expectations but this place deserves it. I stay on the road and see Logan's as a consistent cheap decent option. Clear that management is the problem. Bartender is running all over looking for food that should been expoed and she shouldn't have to run around without support. Cooked medium. When it came out was still bleeding. Apparently they just got it out of the pasture and put on the table. Could not get waitress or any one else attention so sat there for 10 minutes till manager finally came out. Sent steak back to be recooked. They sent another one out cooked the same way. You would think a steak house if they were going to name one as a signature steak. You would be able to chew it. First one came out and it was so tough I could barely cut it let alone chew it. The first thing I noticed when my wife and I entered this Logan's Roadhouse location was the three employees at the front hanging out and having a great time. I could tell right away that we were an inconvenience to their having such a great time. When we entered there were only about five tables with customers. When my wife volunteered that we needed a table for two we were taken to the left side near the bar and nothing was cleared from the tables. I told the greeter that the bar was alright with us also. For some reason that was funny because the tables are "high". It looked as if a tornado had passed through. The dirty table we were offered was missing two chairs, the ones it had were facing in the same direction. We were also an inconvenience to our waitress. She looked like she did not want to be there and her attitude showed it. We ordered drinks and did get them while still discussing the menu. After that our waitress made herself scarce for the rest of the evening. We waited and waited and waited while she and others huddled around in the back of the restaurant in a group laughing and having a mini party. She did return and our orders were placed. After another long wait my wife had to ask for rolls. I have been a Logan's Roadhouse customer since about 2002, especially the one in Alexandria, Louisiana and I know how well a Logan's Roadhouse can be ran. I have also eaten at Logan's Roadhouse while traveling and I have never had a problem. So, the rolls we received were hot. They were also not buttered on the top and should have been. There was also no butter offered with them and there should have been. This happened twice. I asked for butter the second time and after another long wait I got some butter. When receiving our order the entrees were better than room temperature. They must have sat in the kitchen for a long time. Probably while we were waiting for them at our table a long time. Nothing like tepid food to go with the tepid service. I ordered crumbled bleu cheese for my steak and did not receive it. When the waitress passed by not looking at us I got her attention and asked her to take the bleu cheese off of my order. She then had the nerve to ask, "you want me to get you some?" I declined her offer. I was looking around for a manager and after about 20 minutes I saw one. He looked as if he did not want to be there either. He had a very disgusted look on his face too. He did have time to hang out with the party at the front door. He did not however, have time to greet or check on his customers. No one had the appearance of wanting to be there. This must be a horrible place to work. The only employee that had a smile or tried to be friendly was shooed away from our table by our waitress as if she was poaching customers. By the time we were finished eating at this rudderless, leaderless Logan's Roadhouse even we were not in good moods when leaving. Notice it's been three days and I still cannot get over this place. This Logan's Roadhouse location needs some corporate attention and customer service training to say the least. I will probably not be returning any time soon. Our waitress did develop a slight personality when she dropped off our bill, it was tip time you know. She said that she "left us a little note" on our bill. I did tip but, only because she did provide some service. I normally tip 25% but she got 10% for her stellar efforts. My wife did not want to tip anything. The host just pointed at a table from the host stand and told us to sit there. 15 min later the bartender took our drink order and when we ask for a min to decide she went back to the bar and didn't return from talk g with the servers for 30 min. I should have reviewed the other Yelp reviews prior to going to this Logan's. The other folks have it right, this place is horrible. Easy to walk to from the nearby hotels but just go to another place and drive. True to other reviewers you walk in and are barely greeted by the screw-around crew hanging out in the front. Hardly any customers around but don't be fooled, service is scarce too. Forever to get your drink, rushed to order, a while for the food, but the check comes promptly. Also, Logan's recently changed the twin bone in pork chops to two smaller thicker cuts so it's easier for the cooks to dry them out just for you. Never saw a manager, not even roaming around. Terrible experience . Our party was told it would be 15 wait due to shift change. Then after 20 minutes the next shift said it would be 15 minutes due to shift change. A customer exiting had been watching us waiting and told us "good luck." After 40 minutes our party left. 1) be honest, if you can't seat give an accurate wait time. 2) I have been to several dine in restaurants at shift change and the servers hand off after being seated no problem.
