Morristown was in desperate need of a cute cafe like lokl. I love the atmosphere here, the decor is really trendy. Everything we have tried so far has been great, I recommend the mascarpone brownie, chocolate walnut cookie, and of course the baklava (the star of the show). We were in town for one morning and wanted a great cup of coffee and something GF to munch on. Loki cafe has AMAZING coffee service. I got an Americano with steamed milk and my husband got a cappuccino. The quality was really excellent. Best I've had in a while. They only had one Gf option but it was delicious. read more

This place was a disappointment. First of all, a bunch of very young girls (maybe junior high school?) behind the counter with very long, messy heads of hair---not tied back, and just hanging in the food and drinks they were "preparing." All of these young girls constantly wiping their nose and mouth with their hands and then touching all of the food they are serving the customers. How about some training in proper food service? A lesson in sanitary practices? Especially these days! My iced cappuccino was basically a full cup of milk with a very small splash of coffee that you could not even taste. It was terrible. Some of the baked goods looked fresh and some did not. They play this very loud music--it was blasting, which does not lend itself to a relaxing early Sunday morning vibe at all. Ok this is tough but people need to know. I loved this place BUT- I hate it when places make it big and then cut way back and get sloppy and this is a classic case. Cake slices cut in HALF! I know costs are up and maybe they preferred this to raising prices but costs have not doubled as the portion was halved. I figured today that they can't cut the baklavah in half.... Yup- instead of individual pieces it's now one big pie in a tray with tiny slices- easily less than half the size oif the old ones. I got a tuna sandwich to go and a Cortado with almond milk- with a dollar tip and the parking meter it came to just under $18 a few days ago. Sipped the coffee on the way home and it was SOUR- not sure if it vwas sour almond milk or the espresso was that sour- decided not to take a chance and tossed it. Got home took out the sandwich- very big roll very little tuna salad and even the veggies were miniscule. But the worst was yet to come- it was full of capers to which I am allergic. The rest of my $18 goes in the garbage. I did not post this until today when I had a chance to go there and read the ingredient list on the tuna sandwich- 7 things listed down to the pickeling of the onions but no mention of capers. Woke up that night with bad food poisoning/ stomach virus symptoms. Cannot be sure but I have been super isolated for COVID safety and cannot imagine what my other exposure could be. It's beautiful, the staff are generaly nice and the crowd is pleasant and chill but you gotta serve good things at fair prices to maintane success. The food is truly delicious. I had the Bougatsa, a Mini Quiche, small Banana Pudding, and a Honey Cookie. All excellent. The staff was very nice and helpful. There is a nice Greek flavor throughout the cafe. Highly recommended. read more

I am so glad this cafe opened in town! The atmosphere makes you want to cozy up and stay all day. The cold brew is FANTASTIC! My only complaint is that it only comes in one size. Please make a larger size!! I am still dreaming about the blueberry scone I got earlier this week. It was not too sweet, so soft and chewy and fresh. I also went in for baklava a few weeks ago and they let me know it was "resting" out of the oven and not yet ready to be sold. I was disappointed since I had heard such great things, but before I left a staff member came over to me with a fresh warm piece to try! He said he felt bad and couldn't let me leave without it. Was popping through town while waiting for my son's hockey game to end, and I wanted a cup of coffee. By mere chance, I noticed Lokl Cafe and am happy I did. I went to Lokl Cafe yesterday. The atmosphere is great and I felt very comfortable. The counter lady was very friendly. My latte was well crafted. I usually like my coffee stronger but it was really good. Is great this coffee shop is the area we definitely need places that pay attention to create good coffee! I will definitely go back. Love stopping in here for breakfast or just after dinner dessert. The cookie is like a stuffed cookie so yummy along with a nice coffee/espresso selection. If not here for dessert their sandwiches are delicious, bread is fresh and filling is simple but oh so satisfying for a savory tooth. Sometimes there is a line but it actually moves quite quickly which is impressive with all the different drink orders that are getting prepared at the same time. They also have a rewards program which is great because each time you are there you are that much closer to a free treat. read more

I love this place. Just moved to Morristown from Los Angeles and it's the only place that has coffee like what I could get in the city - their coffee is very high quality, super smooth and strong. The lattes in particular are creamy and just the right amount of sweet. Their food is really good, and the owner once saw me drop my uneaten pudding on the way out when I tripped and gave me a new one simply because they were nice. Absolutely only coffee shop in the area I would recommend. read more

After seeing all the great reviews, I was so excited to try this cafe-However, I was very disappointed. The guy behind the counter was far from welcoming. He was rude and inattentive to our family. Got the order wrong (after repeating it correctly to us) and said we didn't tell him. Ironically enough, when the next 2 customers came it was like night and day. He was so nice to them. Im giving them one star only because the lady that ended up coming to help behind the register was a lot nicer. Lovely cafe, beautiful interiors. Small but delicious menu. I had the eggplant sandwich (cold) that was delish and my kid had the Morristown sandwich(egg, cheddar cheese, guacamole, bacon) which was good too. We also got the banana pudding, based on all the reviews. It was ok - considering I had to compare it to Magnolia bakery's famous one which we are a regular at. The croissant is adequate, perhaps even good. It's cold, though they offered to warm it. Should that be a thing before 9am though? Everything was overpriced. Even taking the inflation on the chin and chalking it to potential for quality, their attitude was deserving of fresh pasties. The decor was a vertical arrangement of desperately-seeking-chic Vermont country store, art school coffee spot (complete with Latin American small town photography), Cracker Barrel, and Urban Outfitters. As a brown woman, I understand my filter is different and that a big (6+ inches taller than myself) "regular" reaching over me to pay, when I got to the front of the line, and the barista saying nothing about waiting his turn, is going to be internalized in a different way than another person. That said, having stopped at the local Starbucks just 2 mins away immediately following my exit from the store, the casual, unpretentious greeting and a simple "Have a good day" from several of their team members made the reflection and review of Lokl so much more ridiculous. read more

Finally had the chance to try this café today. My friend and I stopped for lunch. We loved it! The food was amazing...I had the freshly baked spinach and goat cheese quiche and my friend had the spinach pie. And of course we had to have dessert and coffee. We shared the banana pudding and the most delicious warm chocolate chip and walnut cookie that I've ever had. The staff was so nice and went out of their way to be helpful. So happy to find good banana pudding close to home. I popped in to pick up 2 for takeout. Magnolias, in the city, is my top fav, but I just can't go anytime I I want. A fantastic and welcome addition to Morristown. Wow, food was amazing! I had the chicken lemon orzo soup, spinach pie, tuna sandwich, chocolate chip cookie, and Americano coffee. It was all truly magnificent. The coffee especially knocked it out of the park. I took home the Baklava and it was hands down the best I ever had. Friendly staff, fantastic decor (and I mean this is probably the best looking place in town) and incredible atmosphere, where has this place been all this time? I went this morning with my elderly father and had a horrible experience. The person who worked there was so unprofessional and downright nasty. In Morristown, we are not used to this. The only person working there was standing outside when we entered. We had to wait until he came into help us and he appeared agitated that he had to come inside to help us. He was rude, condescending and made us feel like he was doing us a favor. We ordered a coffee, iced tea and a scone which cost $10.50. This was not cheap. After he almost threw our drinks at us, he walked away and did not give us our scone. We had to ask for it and he seemed aggravated that we asked for something we paid for! We were so uncomfortable being there, it was something I will never forget in all my years living in this town. Overpriced and horrendous service. Go to the coffee shop two doors down, it is less expensive and you will get a thank you when you patronize them. read more
