We had heard great things about Lola's, so we met up for a family dinner here. We were smart to make a reservation, because it's a smaller spot that likely won't have a table free if you just walk in. The food was so good!! Felt like home cooking in the best way. Quality, fresh ingredients, and a solid menu with both American and Italian dishes. Everyone who worked there was kind and welcoming. We loved it and will definitely go back for another family dinner!

We have been coming to Lola's for years and absolutely love it. It is a family run restaurant with delicious food. BYOB which is a nice perk. They also have a back room that is perfect for private parties. We went for a Mothers Day lunch this year and everything was so great - food, service, and the full experience!

I really had high hopes. Rest is in a dumpy industrial plaza. It just had to be a hidden gem. Meh, bland from the interior, to the waitstaff lackluster personalities to the food. Upon entering the place smells like musty basement carpet. And vaguely a cat scent permeates the area. Byob. I didnt see any soda on tables so there may be no option for carbonated soft drinks either. Water carafe brought to table had white flexs swirling around in it. Food was bland and wouldn't go back. Even the table house-made bread lacked a sourdough starter. Chicken piccata was loaded w capers and it shockingly extra lemony. Pork may have been boiled and marsala sauce ironically also tasted like lemon was infused into the sauté sauce. Not good. French onion soup was old because u can clearly see the onions have been sitting in broth in their walkin for far to long.

Happy Anniversary Lola's! This is my go to restaurant. The food is always amazing. My favorite is the sesame crusted tuna. It's perfect every time. The servers are experienced with the main dining and there is a great spot for larger parties. I had an engagement party here and a luncheon after a funeral and they accommodated our group without knowing "exactly" how many guests would attend. BYOB is a bonus.

Great BYOB with a small corkage fee. Chef selected entrees, and great preparation. The menu is small which is not a bad thing, an additional special menu for inside dining is available as well as take away. The dining room is small and basic, however service stands out. Good food with Good sized portions!!!

We had heard this restaurant was BYOB, which is always a plus. So we made a reservation to go check it out. When we showed up they somehow had lost the reservation, but were very accommodating and got us a table anyway. Food was delicious, the portions were large.the staff was very friendly. We cannot wait to go back and try it again. There are so many good choices on the menu. I highly recommend the fried green beans as an appetizer.

We have snow that night which makes the experience even greater. You have to call to make reservation for the igloo in advance and pay $150 deposit. This will be applied to your meal, so technically you don't have to pay extra for the igloo like the ones in the city if you order enough. The service was good too. We don't have to leave the igloo at all to ask for service. However the food wasn't that great. The Caesar salad (including the wrap) was so salty! The beef on the sandwich was so dry. The burger and the mac and cheese were okay. So if next year the menu is the same, we probably won't return.

The brunch theme is Mardi Gras, and let me tell you, I felt like I was back in New Orleans! From flavor profile of all the food to the soft music in the background. My boyfriend and I were served fresh breads shortly after sitting down. They were so fresh and delish! For my wine I had the house rose, which was divine! My boyfriend had the sauvignon blanc, which he enjoyed as well! He did say he liked my rose a little bit better. For our appetizer we shared the Char Grilled Oysters. These were phenomenal! I'm still thinking about them now as I write this review! I wish there was more than 5. My boyfriend was nice and let me have the extra one! For our entrees, we each had a different Benedict. I had the Andouille one and my boyfriend went with the crab cake Benedict. Both were packed with flavor! The potatoes that came with them were also packed with flavors! We ordered additional drinks; ultimate Bloody Mary and Hurricane. Sip sip hooray! So good! For dessert I had the cheese cake parfait and my boyfriend had the cinnamon bread pudding. Desserts are made on sight at the bakery and both of these desserts were great! Even the whipped cream was fresh. Everything was amazing from start to finish! Our server, whose name I don't remember was such a sweet heart! We will absolutely return! 5+ stars all the way!

I walked in and from first glance, you can tell it is a staple type establishment for those within the community of Plainville. A spot that folks love to hit up in the mornings and for lunch to get their day started and to keep it going. I always can appreciate a good home-style vibe. Jim's had a few patrons inside, all having conversations with the ladies behind the counter that were making food and then the gentleman at the register as well. I will say that when I walked up to the counter, one lady looked at me as if I had a third eye, scoffed and walked away but I didn't think much of it for she may have been having a bad morning....moments later the other Woman said, "What do you want?" in a questionable tone but again, I digress for they both looked flustered. I placed an order and simply walked to the register and proceeded to grab a few more items for my review. I started off with the Pastrami Reuben on hardroll. The roll was toasted for that crispy factor and the pastrami itself, was good. You really can't go wrong when the cut on the pastrami is just right and it has a nice cut about it. The sauerkraut was ok, nothing major to write home about to be honest and it had a nice savory sauce with some Swiss cheese that. complemented the sandwich. Moving along to their macaroni salad! The mayo was tangy, and the red onions drew in the flavor profile rather nicely. It was seasoned with pepper as well and with the macaroni cooked to near perfection, you couldn't go wrong here. Now their Bacon, Egg and cheese on a hard roll left much to be desired. More BREAD than egg and bacon....You could barely see it from the side, let alone taste anything. I was sadly disappointed in their excuse for a breakfast sandwich. It lacked style, ingredients and flavor. This brings us over to their Apple Crisp! Fresh apples, cinnamon and granola goodness that made up for the horrible breakfast sandwich. Each bite of the crisp sent harps my way to play me a melody of tasty treats. Not too bad but between their. questionable customer service and my breakfast sandwich, I can only give Jim's an overall score of 3.5.
