Spectacular brunch at this hidden gem. For $47.95 you get a prime rib carving station, omelette station and any breakfast food you can think of. Included in this is a mimosa. The food was so delicious and the staff are attentive and helpful. 10 stars!!!

Delicious brunch! We got married at Avon Old Farms and try to at least go back once a year for Sunday brunch. The selection of food is amazing. They have everything from eggs and toast to prime rib and pesto pasta. You get unlimited coffee and mimosas and they always have a live pianist playing. I definitely recommend trying their brunch out if you have the chance!

Went to Sunday brunch with a friend and had the best time! Service was attentive. The buffet selection is the best in the Farmington Valley. Everything was so fresh and tasty. I enjoy the option to sit in the bar and have brunch as it was just my friend and I so having the quiet away from the dining area was a nice touch. Hands down the best brunch in the valley - quality, selection and price.

My husband and I came here to use our free brunch which was included in our wedding package. This was probably the best brunch I ever had! Unlimited mimosas, waffles and prime rib! I was in my element indulging in just about everything. The cheesecake was also amazing as well! What even made the experience better was the friendly and attentive staff. I wasn't aware we had to make a reservation for brunch but the staff member up front still managed to find us a table after only a few minutes of waiting (we got lucky!!). Additionally I had my wedding catered from this restaurant and can say the prime rib, stuffed shrimp and penne alla vodka are to die for and are a must if you plan on having your wedding at Avon old farms hotel! Very pleased with this restaurant! My husband and I plan on coming for Sunday brunch as an anniversary tradition so we will be back for years to come!

Standard lunch menu, very quiet in the off season (December) but still prone to book your events like weddings or parties for the great rates. Pick your own catering- no restrictions. Tavern can be open until 1am also for after parties.

We had a very nice lunch experience here on Saturday. The dining room was fairly empty, but what a gorgeous dining room it was! It has a circular exterior wall with over a dozen windows overlooking a pretty landscape. It really is quite scenic. Seasons is the house restaurant for the Avon Old Farms Hotel. They offer quite a few menus - breakfast, a Tap Room, Happy Hour, Main Dining Room, a Sunset Menu, plus drinks, desserts, and special event menus. We ordered from the Main Dining Room menu. It includes French Onion Soup and four salads in a half or full size, nine great looking small plates ($7 to $14), and nine entrees in the $20 - $40 range. Our lunch was a half order of artisan salad ($7) with grilled chicken ($4), and a turkey club served with fries for $11. My salad was very very good. It was described as "Fresh cut artisan greens, baby heirloom tomato, English cucumber, feta cheese, sweet pickled onion, toasted almond, dried cranberry, blood orange champagne vinaigrette". The veggies were fresh and crisp and perfect, as were the almonds, cranberries and terrific dressing. The very decent serving of grilled chicken was perfectly cooked! It was moist, tender, juicy and was quite a good value for $4. The half portion of salad was just right for lunch. The turkey club was served with a huge portion of outstanding french fries! They were big meaty slabs, crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. They were seriously some of the best fries I have had in a long time. Bottom line ? We had a real nice lunch in a real nice place for under $25.

There were fruit flies swarming the tavern and bar. Plus when i was handed my drink there were smudge marks all over the glass it was dirty. This places has changed over the years the service is still oof point and very nice. The facility itself has gone down hilll.

I was wavering between 3 and 4 stars for this place and settled on 3 because although the food was really good and the venue is gorgeous, I was very uncomfortable upon arrival. I'll explain: My husband and I wanted to take our moms out for breakfast to celebrate Mother's Day. We went the day before (5/13/17) and made reservations one week in advance for 9:30 am. We arrived at the restaurant and were greeted by no one. We stood at the door near a large group of people enjoying their breakfast. So not only were we not greeted, but we were hovering over other people that were trying to enjoy their meal. I made eye contact with two servers and 5 minutes passed and we were STILL not greeted. I was frustrated because it's now 9:40 and this place is supposed to be upscale and you'd expect promptness. I walked to the back of the restaurant to let a server know we were there. They said it'd be 10 minutes. I said we had a reservation. They said "I know but it will be 10 minutes." So I walk back to the front and we wait 15 minutes. So now I'm just extremely frustrated and embarrassed because we made reservations and I really have to go back and ask what's going on! I approached our to-be server and she explained to me how a lot of large parties showed up with no reservations and it was a crazy morning and they were very busy. Ok, I get it! I used to be a server myself so I know things can get hectic. However, WE HAD A RESERVATION...and I feel as if the point of a reservation is to avoid being in the exact situation we were in. The server was very passive aggressive to me but I didn't want to get angry because I really did understand she was genuinely stressed. I explained to her I was upset that we made a reservation and this was a Mother's Day breakfast and I was embarrassed that my party had to wait so long and feel uncomfortable. We waited a few more minutes and ended up walking in and seating ourselves after the server told us we could come in any time (which was also uncomfortable because this meant we were not greeted the entire time). Once we were seated, our server completely changed her demeanor and she was so sweet and apologetic. My mother-in-law, husband, and mom were completely happy and I was sitting there like wow this girl is good (no seriously, I was impressed I am not being sarcastic). She greeted our moms and said happy Mother's Day, took their orders first, brought coffee over immediately. We ordered our food and it came relatively quickly and everything was delicious. Really, it was so good and worth the slightly elevated prices. I think the place needs to pay more attention to people coming in and take reservations more seriously (especially since a family with no reservation was seated the same time as we were). Perhaps more than 2 people working would help. I really do feel grateful that the server quickly shifted her mood as to not make breakfast uncomfortable. I do feel my annoyance was justified but I do understand her annoyance as well. To the stressed server: thank you! My mom and mother-in-law had a great breakfast. I apologize for adding to your stress but I appreciate your maturity. To the restaurant: get your stuff together! To the kitchen: keep it up! To future patrons: perhaps don't bother making a reservation, just walk in and wait so you are not disappointed.

Worst strawberry shortcake ever. Was at the bar and got a dessert to go but it was yucky. That's how it looked

Very pretty place and we went to taproom for a drink. I wanted a dessert to take back to our room. Worst! Strawberry Shortcake EVER! Hard biscuit with maybe 4 watery strawberries and that's it Yucky expected better..more...something yummy considering the surroundings. Gave then 3 stars because it was pretty place. We didn't eat dinner there but our hotel room was nice. Just needs a better pastry chef

    Carrie C.

It's actually the Season's Restaurant and PUB...so while I can't vouch for the restaurant in terms of food, I most certainly can regarding beverages...good stuff!! Go for happy hour in the late afternoon around 5ish...they set out a spread of free appetizers including potato skins and eggrolls! Season's is connected to the hotel so if you just so happen to be staying in the main building, it's a hop, skip and a jump to the bar...so handy. Also, the room service menu for the hotel is pretty much the same as if you were eating at Season's...so you know you're getting good grub while staying there... They serve breakfast lunch and dinner every day including a Sunday Brunch and the wine menu is ever-changing.

But Toasted Oat hits the high points of quality of cook on the food, even if the ingredients may not all be top notch. They have breakfast sandwiches, bowls and scrambles, as well as regular sandwiches, salads and burritos. We enjoyed the regular breakfast sandwich with spinach and cheese (subbed the meat but wish the spinach had been cooked in - $7) and the breakfast scramble which included 2 eggs, 3 veggies, cheese, protein all mixed/cut up together, as well as hash brown (didn't exactly look homemade?) and toast ($11). Everything was served in to-go containers so the looks weren't the best but makes sense given the place and that most people probably don't dine in. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. Everything takes time to come out so you know it's done to order. They also have some coffee and tea. They had a few coffee cake items in a glass display but didn't look homemade either. It feels like a cafe should have more selection of pastries but again bother me. Service was friendly and patient. The actual location isn't that great visually either. There is one longer table and a few smaller ones, but it's not a big place and not decorated to impress (fine by me!) It is located in a small nondescript plaza with an Indian market. Small parking lot. Wish this small business well!

First off, it's definitely one of those small, tucked-away spots you could easily miss if you didn't know it was there, but once you walk in, the decor is so cute. Think cozy, shabby chic vibes that make it feel warm and welcoming right away. The standout for me? The dinner roll. Honestly, one of the best I've ever had. It was dense, rich, and satisfying, not your typical light, airy Kaiser roll. It reminded me more of a Jamaican hard dough bread in texture and weight, which I personally loved. Super flavorful and filling. I was also really happy about their buy three, get one free promotion. It made it easy to try a few different things without feeling like I was overdoing it. As for the pastries, I tried the cinnamon roll and carrot cake. I didn't finish either, but the carrot cake definitely gave true homemade vibes. It had coconut mixed in, wasn't overly sweet, and felt more traditional than indulgent. If you like a less sugary, more classic-style carrot cake, you'll probably appreciate it. Overall, this bakery is worth a stop, especially if you're exploring the pastry trail. Not everything wowed me, but there were definitely some highlights that made it a good visit.

They have breakfast and lunch cafe menus (+catering), yummy pastries (cookies, muffins and scones) and various coffees and drinks. We enjoyed the omelette (if you order more than 3 ingredients there's a charge) and the village breakfast which was eggs, potatoes (slightly blackened), sourdough toast (or wheat) and bacon. Prices are fairly standard ($11-14) and portions not very large. The panetonne, toasted coconut, and chocolate chip scones ($5 each) were all good and baked well. The honey latte and hot chocolate (most drinks are $4-8) were also very creamy and delicious, though slightly too sweet for our tastes (made it taste good though!) You order at the counter and then take a table and place a marker with nice words like "love" and then your food is brought to you. The actual space is very inviting, with lots of nooks and crannies (tables with chairs, couches, a fireplace). They also sell t-shirts ($30) and sweatshirts ($40-50?) which are pretty soft material, as well as ground coffee, cards, granola, etc. The other half of their space is their homemade pasta place so it's a unique layout and looked fun as well. There were plenty of customers cycling in and out, many sitting down with a warm drink and a pastry. Parking isn't huge but was not super super small but could be an issue if they got an influx of folks hanging out. Wouldn't blame them though because it's a comfortable place with free wifi. We walked in a little before 1:00 yesterday and found a table for two in the back left corner of the dining room, so we had a good view of the entire room. I have to tell ya, the place was packed! Breakaway closes at 3:00 every day except Sunday (2:00), and there were breakfast and lunch menus out, plus a few daily specials. My wife went with a "William's Ham Panini" ($17) with thin sliced ham, bacon, caramelized onions, cheddar and honey mustard on a grilled panini. We both were struck at how much ham was piled onto her sandwich. She had a few choices for a side dish and put her nickel down on potato salad. I went with The JT Salad ($16). The menu says it's been their "best-selling salad 25 years and counting". It was a big portion of mixed greens served with house balsamic dressing, grape tomatoes, gorgonzola cheese, and grilled chunks of teriyaki glazed chicken breast. It was stellar, with plenty of that yummy cheese and chicken. The only sour note with our lunch was a rather steep $4.25 for a glass of iced tea that was half-filled with ice. The food was very good and a decent amount of leftovers came home with us for another day. I was unexpectedly impressed by how crowded Bistro was on a random Monday. I bet you'll be too.

The avocado creama, creamy eggs, spicy homemade chorizo, and pickled onion lead to a very well balanced and well seasoned bite. Plus they were huge in size but every bite offered a similar experience. If I had to be a stickler, there was a lot of potatoes on each taco. Filler is fine, but I did notice the amount. As a taco, it's a very solid contender to one of the better tacos I've had in ct. the quality is there, the quantity is plentiful, and the price is right. If I only got the tacos, and I was warned that it would be a few minutes to make sure they came out right, then it would be a five-star taco. Because the coffee is okay and there was a bit of a wait, I did dock a star because of it. It's a great place for a local breakfast and lunch spot. So long as you go in knowing that it might take a little bit to get your order then the wait is worth it. The vibe is chill, the food is good to great, and the staff are very nice.
