The food is very good and well presented. Pretty place and nice ambiance as well as seating outside with a small patio. Just don't come after 2:30 if you expect a full service lunch, their kitchen closes down and no made to order salads or sandwiches are served after that time. We normally enjoy the coffee and pastries. Saturday we came in for an actual breakfast around 11:30. It wasn't particularly busy however our food took an unusually long amount of time to come... talking about avocado toast and poached eggs 30+minutes. Gluten free bread on the avocado toast was soggy. The taste of the avocado spread was very nice however. The poached eggs on toast lacked flavor. The worst part tho is when they brought the long awaited food my add on bacon was very cold... I took a bite and asked the server if it was supposed to come out cold... he replied no and took it... came out 30 seconds later and said it's probably pretty soggy but no longer cold. He brought me out the same bacon with a bite out of it after he threw it in the microwave Was not impressed however my girlfriend likes the coffee and pastries may give it another shot. read more

Lola's Cafe is located off of Terrace and Corporate Drive, right in the corner of a cute shopping center. I stumbled upon this place during my daily Yelp searches and stopped in for a quick visit between my daily errands. Walking in you will notice such a cute rustic decor with several wall art displays and unique shelve items available for purchase. They have a great selection of drinks and instantly you will notice a delicious display of fresh delectable pastries as well as salads and sandwiches. They also have a great selection of coffees and Teas. I ordered the Green Tea Matcha Latte and it was made just perfectly and every sip was heavenly. Of course drinking it in a large mug with cute latte art makes it so much better! I also ordered the Avocado Toast on Multi grain bread. Its topped with a generous spread of there avocado, hemp seeds, chili pepper flakes, Himalayan salt( some kind of salt) and greens. It comes with four slices with several plump cherry tomatoes on a cute wood board. The presentation is simple yet the overall taste and experience is Amazing! I enjoyed my quick visit the first time, I returned the next day with my son to enjoy another round of Avocado Toast and the Honey Vanilla Latte. My son had the kids Jelly Sandwich. As a picky eater, he truly enjoyed his breakfast. Overall...Lola's Cafe is such a great addition to the Ladera Ranch Community and it has instantly become one of my favorites. Ugh i'm sad the breakfast burrito was just not it. the ratio of the egg and everything else was so off. I think it would have been better with salsa or some sauce on the side. And i did not see any aioli. However one of my favorite things is asking for a matcha lemonade, it's not in their menu and everyone is so nice and willing to make it. It's been a minute since I've eaten a Lola's so thought I've give it a try with my 10 yo granddaughter. Thought it would be a fun place to eat after a day together. She was excited to get the Avocado toast and I ordered the BBQ chicken flatbread. Service was friendly and out food arrived within a few minutes. The flatbread was fine... toppings were scare, flavor was as expected. The Avocado Toast was not done. Not sure if the bread was stale or simply over toasted. One of the pieces was the heel so that didn't help the fact that the bread was hard, solid, not able to be eaten. I had a challenging time even trying to cut the crust off the bread so she could eat what was left. I definitely would have returned this item but we were in a bit of a hurry so we shared the flatbread and took a couple bites from the center of the toast. Would NOT order this item again. On a good note, the place is cute, has patio seating and we like the fresh squeezed orange juice and usually pick up something from the small retail goodies offered. read more

First thing: absolutely wonderful staff. The location is super convenient and has an uplifting atmosphere. The layout is welcoming and allows you to browse the items they have displayed for sale. I ordered an iced London fog with oat milk and lavender syrup. They couldn't have made it any better. It is delicious. Great place to study or catch up with friends! I stumbled upon this cafe while exploring Mission Viejo and immediately fell in love with the relaxed laid back atmosphere. There's a combination of long communal style tables with benches and small square tables for individuals working or studying on their laptops. Although it wasn't on the menu the server agreed to make me an earl grey tea latte (what great service!) and I sipped on it happily while studying on a Monday morning. Most diners were eating avocado toast in the morning and flatbreads became popular as the morning transitioned into the afternoon. I was debating between the avocado toast and a few lox options but ended up ordering Suzy's Icelandic Breakfast, which was a sandwich consisting of house smoked salmon, egg salad, red onions, capers and lettuce. The salmon was heavy on the dill which I didn't mind and was very fresh and delicious! Came by on a Saturday afternoon at about 4:15 with my girlfriend because I was craving a nice coffee beverage. I really didn't want something from a chain so I was trying to find a privately owned little coffee shop through Yelp and came across Lola's. It was quiet when we got there - only one table was full. I looked over the menu and asked the barista what they were known for. She gave some great recommendations and I settled with the iced lavender latte with almond milk. They make their syrups in-house which I found awesome! The drink was ready fairly quickly and wow, did it taste good! A real quality beverage. It was a bit pricey but it was delicious so it's okay. Really glad a place like this opened up in Ladera Ranch. Would love to try their breakfast sometime. read more

I've tried and tried to like this place - their vegan options are terrible. I've had conversations with the owner to give feedback and offer some ideas on what could be done to improve the flavor for vegans - he always acts like he's interested and cares but over time nothing has changed and the food remains blah. On top of that, every time i go in the decaf grinder isn't working and i have to have something besides coffee. Once i understand, every time maybe you need a new machine. It's always crazy busy and loud - i think young moms have play dates there with lots of littles running around and yelling. Today i had another bad scenario and spoke with the owner - seeing as there was a lineup he didn't care. I paid extra for something i didn't get and there was not even an offer for reimbursement. Sorry Lola's but I'm done with you! **UPDATE:** In follow up to the owners' comment, i was having a great day and was in fine mood until coming into Lola's - i ordered from the menu "toast with vegan cashew cheese and strawberry preserve" - I've had that before and it was good - this time the the cashew cheese was green and tasted like pesto - not a good taste with strawberry jam. If what they served me in the past was not the cashew cheese then even then i did not get what i ordered. The alternative menu item he offered today was not a vegan option which would not be option for me - i wouldn't offer milk as an option to someone who is lactose intolerant. I didn't insult your customers - i only made comment that it is always noisy in there with kids running around. That's the reality of your restaurant - not a slam. If I'm looking for a quiet place to visit with a friend, this is not the place to go. Please don't make my bad experience to be about me having a bad day - i had just started the day and come into your shop laughing and happy with a friend - i also left laughing and happy as my issue was solely the food and service, not my attitude. read more

Food was fine but the service needs work. I went in with a party of 6 for brunch one Sunday visiting friends in the area. Not being from Orange County I couldn't help but feel the ambiance, menu, and prices on the menu seemed exceedingly Orange County. One thing I noticed right away when ordering was that the pretentious cashier would immediately ask everyone in my party who requested that a menu item be modified, "Have you had it before?" No chili flakes on your avocado toast? "Have you had it before?" No tomato on the egg and bacon sandwich "Have you had it before?" No sweet potatoes in the breakfast burrito, "Have you had it before?" My assumption was this was the owner and he was getting peeved that someone is messing with the perfection that is his masterly crafted menu. But I'm sorry guy, sometimes you know you don't like sweet potatoes in your burrito, which is why that's what my girlfriend was trying to order. We pay and sit down and when the food is brought out the waitress asks who ordered the breakfast burrito. My girlfriend asked if it was the one with or without sweet potatoes as someone else ordered one standard. She wasn't sure, but when she got the second batch of plates she had the receipt and said only one burrito, standard, was ordered. We looked at the receipt and sure enough the guy didn't charge us for the sweet potato-less burrito. The waitress then told her she would have to go back to the counter, wait in line, and order her food. When she got back and our food continued to cool, she even mentioned how the guy was apologetic because he, of course, remembered she was the person who definitely did order a burrito without sweet potato. One does not simply forget such an insult, no doubt. There was no communication problem on our end, it seems he just forgot to input the order because he got distracted unnecessarily questioning her about her order. I really don't think this would have happened if the guy was more chill about people's ordered and just inputted them in the machine as they placed them. People have dietary restrictions, or can just be picky, and its a foolish thing to push back against. But the reason for the 2 stars is that they actually made her go back in line and order. I know a lot of places where with a party of 6 they would have just given the person the benefit of the doubt and ordered up the missing item free of charge so that they could all eat warm food together and not be further delayed. I know even more restaurants where they would have at least done this and then had the waitress run the card to the counter and do the transaction for them if they couldn't afford to hand out free food to compensate for mistakes. Or the guy, upon realizing that it was totally him to screwed this up and understands the inconvenience of her having to leave her party and stand in line again, could have made it on the house. But that's not how these guys roll. read more

I was 20 minutes late for work (7am start) although I came in at 6:30am to order two lattes and two sandwiches. Not to mention I was the only costumer in there, one other person was already served. The cashier did not help the back kitchen staff although she knew that the male was on his first days of training. I do not know who had the great idea to leave a brand new person training ALONE especially with countless recipes and specifics on how certain things are cut and prepped. Your costumers are not a first time learning experience, put a trainer with him at least. The male chef made our order wrong, understandable but there was no communication with me and the cashier, I would have understandably taken a refund. I would have much rather had a cashier ask me if I had the time to wait or wanted a refund. I did not get my food until 7:12, more than 30 minutes. This place has ridiculous prices too. I paid $42, for that price I would have gone shopping and made my own food/latte. I get the price for food, I am paying for quality but the markups on the lattes were insane. I got a honey vanilla latte and the base price is 5.25, a dollar added for a large and a dollar charged for the honey latte. I got a dirty chai, a dollar added for a large and a dollar charged for a dirty chai. Of course there is no mention on the markup price on their online menu. Just charge me for the cup and ice while you are at it. I can't care on how sweet a cashier can be, that only gets you so far. It isn't a laughing matter than my food is more than 30 minutes late when I am the only person in the café. read more

A mellow little cafe that has an abundance of coffee's and teas as well as some delicious breakfast items that are just down right good! They also offer a variety of sandwiches for lunch time too but I'm mostly in it for what's good for the morning breakfast hours! The breakfast burrito was super scrumptious it came wrapped in a spinach tortilla that was filled with eggs, cheese, turkey bacon, avocado, Pico and a few other awesome things to hit your flavor spot as everything inside was just super fresh and all around good! The French toast we ordered was also awesome it was like a big cupcake filled with berries and a sweet sugar glaze over the top of it!
