Lolas Cafe is a great healthily spot to eat in Ladera Ranch. They have a fabulous menu and the owner is a gem. The food looks amazing and a must try is the lavender Arnold Palmer. Try the Avocado toast, the veggie wrap and the breakfast burrito with turkey bacon. My last trip I ordered the zucchini spiral salad. Everything has been great. read more

Went here to order breakfast to go on a weekday. Was not very busy. Staff was even trying to kill time by restocking coffee cups and other items. The chicken pesto sandwich is also amazing! The pesto has so much flavor and goes very well with the chicken, fresh mozzarella and sundried tomatoes but most importantly, the baguette is not hard to chew and very flavorful. The breakfast burrito is soooo good you guys, you just have to order and find out yourself. Their gluten free pastries are to die for! Order the banana bread! Moist and not grainy. My friend and I had lunch here for the first time. I came home raving about this place. We ordered the Italian tuna which was tossed in olive oil and sundried tomatoes, and more. We also had the Brie with fig spread and sliced pear sandwich. It was beyond delicious! The food takes a little bit longer but is well worth the wait. The sandwiches were seriously crafted to perfection! I've been waiting for a place like this to come to Ladera Ranch. If you're not in the immediate area it IS worth the drive. I am so very impressed by this little cafe. First of all, the service was absolutely incredible. Every single staff had a smile on their face and genuinely cared about communicating with their customers, how refreshing! Secondly, the food blew my mind. You can taste the quality and care given to it. I ordered a club sandwich and it was crisp, succulent, and full of flavor. I had a bite of my dad's crab cake salad and was so impressed. There has never been a crab cake that I have liked; this one changed my mind. It was stuffed with lump meat that was not overpowered by the seasoning or breading and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There's so much more I could say about the soup of the day and the different sauces I tasted. The atmosphere of the place was so enjoyable as well. So far I'm loving this place. It was my first time visiting today and I was pleasantly surprised. Breakfast sandwich was amazing, and the coffee (lavender latte) to die for. Nice quaint ambiance, not too noisy. Is there room for improvement? Sure. The lady at the cash register wasn't the friendliest, but was not rude. I just thought she needed to be more helpful. I asked her about the pastries, because there was no description of them anywhere. I asked about the coffee as well. I felt she wasn't willing to be very "descriptive". There was no line behind me, so she was not in a hurry. I had an orange ginger scone and I can say it was just okay. That said... what made up for the bumpy experience with the lady at the register and the scone was the manager (owner, don't know) who personally went to check on us and asked what we thought about the food, flavors, etc. I firmly believe when an owner (or management) takes time to care about customers any wrinkle can easily be ironed out. Will definitely go back. Tomorrow. :) UPDATE: I have gone back several times. Just addicted to the lavender latte. I gave the cranberry ginger scone a second chance and was not disappointed. Great flavors, moist and soft. Finished it even before the rest of my food made it to the table. Tip: If you want the scone, get there early. It flies out the door! read more

There aren't many vegan restaurants in South OC and restaurants that do offer vegan options have been a disappointment. Sure enough, as expected, I left disappointed. The vegan food selection is very small and nothing to return for, its pretty expensive too. As far as their non vegan menu and selections, I really can't speak for, but I won't be returning. Was there 12/18 at 10:00am. I do NOT appreciate being lied to! When placing my order for one small decaf coffee I asked the cashier if it was brewed coffee. She assured me that it was. I watched the barista make a shot of decaf coffee and add hot water to it. It was the worst cup of coffee I've ever very had! Hot water with a coffee flavor. Terrible place! Our first experience was good and then second and third was horrible. They need to stop taking orders when there are no seats. Food is ok but completely overpriced. Cashier was rude when I asked her to refund my order since there was no where to sit. When she gave me my refund, it was short. The worst part about it was I gave a 15 percent tip when I paid for my food. Basically, cold food, mushy and cold tater tots, regular coffee, breakfast burrito and a pizette for $40 that I ate in my car. I could have went to Mc Donald's and gotten better service for a fraction of the price. As a ladera resident, I had high hopes for this place. After a couple of years in business, they should have figured out their traffic flow and customer experience. Update: clearly the tone starts from the top down. First, the reasons I deducted a star: --If I hadn't been with someone who'd been there already, it would have been an embarrassingly long time before I found a food menu, as they were in a bin near the patio door, not near the entrance or the counter where you order --One employee just had an off-putting demeanor, like any question was a bother. Perhaps she just has "resting b*tch face" but it was a definite vibe --I asked said employee for more of the sauce that was on my wrap, and instead she brought me something she said I'd like better. Nice in concept, but not what I asked for - and for the record, not as good as what was already on my meal. Now the positives: --LOVE the comfortable decor and vibe --LOVE the healthy menu, and the variety of gluten-free options --As I said, I've only been there once, but my food was delicious, and I am looking forward to returning. Lola's is more akin to hip healthy restos in west LA where we moved from. Had a Lola's salad with curry chicken - highly recommend. This is the kind of salad worth going out for, with fresh interesting ingredients and unexpected flavors. Very satisfying. Interior is adorbs. The art is fun and modern and cool. Only constructive criticism to offer would be to turn the music down a notch, with the lunch rush it was pretty loud. But that's a very easy fix and very minor considering how good everything else was. The location is kinda tucked away, but worth finding. I'm not a big Yelp reviewer but hope this place gets tons of business and stays for good. We need more options like this! Thank you! read more
