The staff working on this evening quite miserable. My order was literally thrown on table with my silverware and she says as she is walking away..."let me know if you need anything". Food was ok. Establishment has the doors open so there are flies everywhere. Covered my drink and my food when I wasn't drinking or eating. So, not thrilled with this place. read more

Took a day trip with my daughter (18) and her two best friends to the New Paltz area to hike/swim at Split Rock and explore the town. We were starving after hiking and swimming so we went straight to Lola's for lunch. Wow- what a wonderful dining experience! We all ordered different meals and all basically "licked our plates clean". My daughter's friend ordered the impressive hot chicken sandwich and we were all blown away just by the looks of it! I ordered the turkey and Brie panini with blackberry preserves and the peanut noodles (which were to die for) We all loved that we could choose a side with our sandwiches and that you could refill your lemon water from an icy communal canteen. Prices were reasonable, staff is friendly and welcoming, and there is a parking lot in the rear of the building (metered) which made it easy for 4 hungry girls to get lunch. This is a cool little spot right inside of town and not too far from our favorite place for views, mohonk mountain. We sat outside and it was chill. You have to order your food inside and then they bring it out. All the waiters or hosts were very friendly. I got the grilled chicken bruschetta panini with a side of corn and beans, it was very good, except there was a lot of oil under my sandwich which left me alittle greasy. I think it may have come from the salad. My husband got the quinoa bowl with poke and shrimp. Also very good, but had a bit too much oil at the bottom as well. Cute cafe in New Paltz. Stopped in midday on a Sunday. Food was mediocre. Had the chicken salad wrap with fries and my guest had the special - curry chicken salad wrap. We also had a bowl of the black bean soup. My guest enjoyed her wrap. My standard chicken salad wrap was just okay. The black bean soup was watery and bland, like they were stretching the pot. Soup orders have no "cup" option - only a full bowl. So lots uneaten. Fries were standard frozen fries. The staff at the front and at the register where you order were sullen and unfriendly, not rude at all, but like there were a million other things they'd rather be doing than what they were doing. Not helpful with the menu for a first timer. No New Paltz vibe at all. I've heard raves about this place, but I don't get the same excitement. In upstate NY for the day, I ended up at Lola's with friends on a recommendation. Super cute atmosphere. Nice outdoor seating area right on a street corner where you could take in the sights, but not so noisy you felt you couldn't enjoy your company, a great balance! I immediately noticed that both gluten free and vegan menus were available, and so of course, I asked! I was very happy to see that the short rib grilled cheese that was recommended to me was also on the gluten free menu. Very simple ordering system, with friendly, well-informed service. I will say that I was expecting more short rib in the sandwich, but it was definitely delicious, and I could see myself ordering it again! if I'm ever in the area again, I know where I'm eating! read more

So glad our friend recommended this restaurant!! When we walked in we were greeted by a girl at the counter who informed us that she'd take our order when we were ready, and a waitress would bring the food to the table. We were eating during the lunch hour, so I was pretty amazed that our food was on our table within 5-7 minutes of us ordering it! I had the Short Rib Grilled Cheese w fries, my husband had the Southwestern Cobb Salad--we both absolutely LOVED our food and were pleasantly full when we left. The rib meat on the grilled cheese was super tender and flavorful (my mouth is watering while I'm thinking of it!!) And the Cobb salad was tasty, and we loved the dressing!! Lola's is a great place to get food quick if you're in New Paltz. They have great sandwich, panini and salad options. They even have vegan and meat chili which is perfect to order on a colder day. came here on mothers day around 1pm after hiking at mohonk. the sun was out so we sat outside. id say the food was just average. losing a star because they hand you menus when they seat you but they dont tell you you need to go inside and order at the counter, so we ended up just sitting there for an extra 5-10 minutes not knowing that was the case. i saw the same happen to a few other tables too where people looked frustrated. One of my favorite places to eat on Main Street in New Paltz! I recommend Lola's to everyone I know. The service is fairly fast, its really clean inside and the food is delicious. I like the black bean burger and the B.L.A.T. the best!! I also get the peanut noodles (they're cold noodles) as my side instead of fries. Only complaint is this. I got the Chicken Waldorf salad as take out and had to add some toppings to it at home in order to eat it. It was extremely bland with hardly any toppings and I didn't like the cider dressing. Also, a heads up that they messed up my take out order once so check your bag of food before you leave the restaurant! Despite the complaints, I really love my two regular dishes and how clean and fast Lola's is. Highly recommend trying it. read more

Both wraps were a good size. It's nice they include an offer of a side - their fries were good and they also offer peanut noodles, side salad, etc. The chicken salad wrap was interesting since it had a citrusy taste. So, I can say that I've never been the type of person to consider eating healthy but! Lolas has truly changed my mind. The Southwest Bowl is absolutely delicious! I love the taste, the tofu is so delicious I could strictly have an entire bowl of that. The avocado also tastes fresh, which is nice because that's rare to find nowadays. I'm very pleased with the quality of food that is coming out of Lolas because it helps people who choose not to be healthy actually consider being healthy! My friend and I were told we could sit outside on the porch, so we did! There was a party of five with a dog at another table. The dog would bark at everyone. He was awful. His/her owners didn't seem to care, because it's 2021 and no one cares much about how they effect others anymore. But enough about society, let's talk about the food: It was DANK! Dank-a-pod Dank-a-Saurus Dank-A-Dactyl. The menu is inventive. There was a crazy grilled cheese sandwich with chutney and ribs. Really good. The fries were dank-a-copter too! Asian style rice and noodle bowl was less than half filled with very little broccoli. It was very good but for 15 bucks you would figure the portion size would reflect that. Panini was good, but came with a very tiny portion of salad as we substituted with fries. Pickle was a cheap basic vinegar based spear. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this little cafe in a college town, but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food here. The interior was spacious, and everything, including the bathrooms, seemed clean. My only qualm about cleanliness is that the sink is located outside of the bathroom in an open area. It's cute and quirky, but my inner germophobe was panicking at how many people had probably wiped their butts and then touched that bathroom doorknob before being able to wash! Ordering was simple and efficient. The food came out relatively quickly despite the Sunday brunch crowd. And the waitresses were very polite and animated. Love how they had cucumber/citrus infused water in a dispenser for free! My boyfriend tried the short rib grilled cheese and it was a masterpiece! I ordered a chipotle turkey panini, and that was good too, but just couldn't hold a candle to the grilled cheese. My sandwich probably needed something to amp up the flavor.
