Make your own vegetarian egg white omelette

Yummy and cozy brunch option right in the middle of town. Got in a white make your own vegetarian omelette with potatoes and toast, chicken fingers, and fries, and a burger and fries. Everyone enjoyed it! Will be back.

Bistro Roll & a Mai Tai
    Brandi S.

I've always been a fan of brunch at Main St. Breakfast is affordable and delicious. They're always busy and there is a wait on weekends but it is worth it. However, the other night I was walking by and saw a Late Night Bistro sign with sushi, so I had to stop by. The drinks are reasonably priced. I went with a Mai Tai which was under $10, but be aware they don't mix with alcohol, they mix with Sake. Still delicious though! I went with the Bistro roll and it was pretty good! Lots of meat, well-made, fresh. They don't have a huge selection with raw fish... mostly cooked stuff. It was pretty slow at night, was shocked because of the price point.

Huckleberry Frolic wrap with side of home fries and groovy mimosa and side of bacon partially eaten.

Came here after the diner across the street was closed on a whim. Was looking for a place with diner food and this was it. We both got the Huckleberry Frolic which was a vegetarian breakfast wrap and it was delicious. I added mayo on the side. We also tried the groovy mimosa that was huge! The guys working there were friendly and service wasn't too slow even though our server did apologize saying they were short staffed. The seating was decent and the ambiance was just okay but it was a great affordable spot for pretty tasty breakfast food. We also got a side of bacon to share and it was a large portion and tasted good.

My friend asparagus and salmon hash

Came here on a Friday morning- it was packed but only had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table of 4. Ambiance wasn't too bad, diner feel for sure, not too loud. Bathroom was a little sketchy, door doesn't even reach to the floor but up over a foot in space off the ground. Food came out in a timely manner after ordering and was hot and delicious, coffee was hot. The waitress staff was not pleasant. Had a bottle of hot sauce slammed on the table when asked for it. Food is great but service is lacking. But if you want delicious breakfast food, this is your place.

Our son went to SUNY New Paltz, that's when we got introduced to this quirky delicious restaurant, staff are very patient, friendly and helpful, love the local artist painting and works on sale hanging on the walls, diner booths and all work together for cozy relaxed eatery . Son graduated a while ago but we still stop here to eat and get take out for family. Definite recommendation for everyone.

Portobello and tofu sandwich with fries

4.5: Friendly service, solid food, lots of options Came here on a weekday for a late lunch and there was still a good crowd inside. But we didn't have to wait for a table. There are a lot of breakfast items on the menu and also some sandwiches, soups, salads, burgers, desserts. You can probably find something that someone in your party will like. I was impressed to find many options for vegetarians or vegans. The portobello tofu burger had a decent amount of filling and also came with fries (or soup or salad). The shrimp quesadillas also had decent filling, with avocados, black beans, tomatoes, mozzarella, sour cream and red pepper sauce. Menu items were also decent prices. We had to wait a bit to get our food so I can imagine it would be quite slow on a weekend. But the server checked on us a few times so we didn't feel abandoned. The tables are a little cramped and it's retro inside. There are quite a few other restaurants nearby like Asian, Cafe, burgers, pizza but this is a solid option. Metered parking, .25 for 3 hours.

My friend asparagus. Don't be misled by the name of this dish and description. There is basically sprinkle asparagus instead of scallion!

My friend asparagus. Two over-easy eggs, asparagus, bacon, tomato, scallions &hollandaise served over tater tots. Sound great right? No. I don't even know why they put asparagus in the name of this dish! It was two over-easy eggs over tater tots. Sprinkle with asparagus instead of scallion and tiny bits of bacon. Not good. Salty. The hot chai latte they served in a tall plastic cup. I had to ask them to bring me a coffee mug bc the plastic was extremely hot to hold. Was good flavor. We were in the area visiting friends and went for brunch. The wait was over an hour on Sunday. This was a poor experience. I don't know why this place has 4.5 stars.

More creative egg breakfast choices than I have ever seen. Service was fast, friendly, & thoughtful. Ingredients were fresh & portions were large. Looking forward to returning again & would absolutely recommend. Street parking available.

    Inedible blueberries and pancakes.

I have always had a good meal at the Bistro. But holy cow. Were the chef and the servers with experience on vacation today? What. The. Heck. I had what can be called a breakfast with my kid that missed on all fronts. Water for tea was lukewarm at best, pancakes ugh. Thin and rubbery. Inedible. Blueberries were tasteless and super mushy-inedible. Bacon was undercooked and fatty. Didn't receive the real maple syrup but got charged for it (was taken off the bill no problem) we were not checked on once when we were there and I could have really used another napkin as my first held the remains of the blueberries I had tried. Sorry Bistro we are out for the foreseeable future. Sign in the window was looking to hire 'experienced' line cooks. Uh yeah. That'd be great. Are there new owners or something??

Overall, the food was good and came out hot. The place was packed and took a hour to get eggs. The staff were extremely friendly. There was no AC and the noise level from people talking was over bearing. I would go back when it is less crowded but this place is nothing to rave about.

    Biscuits and gravy

We were in the area to do the walk over the Hudson and almost went to a different place for breakfast, but glad we didn't. The inside of Main Street bistro is cute and nicer than some close by alternatives. The wait on a Saturday wasn't too bad and they were accurate on the wait time. It was also convenient they send you a text so we were able to browse the book store across the street while we waited. We got the Franklin lake cranberry cakes, the biscuits and gravy, and the chocolate chip pancakes, and the tater tot special to share. Overall, we enjoyed everything. The tater tot special was a good addition because the portions weren't too big, we basically finished everything between 3 of us. The franklin lake cranberry cakes we're really good and different (and were recommended by our waiter). The biscuits and gravy were OK, not amazing but still good. If we went back I'd probably try lunch items next time.

We ordered that every time we have eaten here in the past. Weird burger combos were noted. I asked about a burger with gorgonzola cheese - instead of the feta cheese that came on one of the burgers. I was told no - they don't have any. Their other restaurant right next door makes a gorgonzola burger. They are always going back and forth to get stuff - why couldn't they just say yes, and grab a bit of gorgonzola from next door? Note that this was around 5:00 pm and there was just one other table occupied, and two people at the bar who were leaving. I wanted a burger, but didn't like any of the weird choices, so I got a Reuben sandwich. The fries were good, but for $17, I would have hoped the corned beef would be good as well. It wasn't very moist or fresh - in fact there were weird brown areas on the meat. I chalked it up to a bad choice. My partner ordered the Philly steak sandwich on a baguette. He has had the French dip sandwich there in the past and liked it. Unfortunately it was no longer on the menu, so he ordered the closest thing. He said he would not order it again, and that says a lot. I tasted it - and it was just not very good. Sorry to say but it is unlikely we will be back.

The drinks were around $5 which is a steal compared to New York City prices. In the past they used to offer a large fishbowl drink for your birthday. It was huge and took several people to drink it. Currently it is the size of a large cup as you can see in the picture. It does the job but it is much smaller than what it was in 2010. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. I usually sit at the bar which is a great place to meet others and watch the game. Everyone usually comes in for drinks and a quick meal. I found Karma Road on Yelp--a vegan cafe? Yes, please. It's a small cafe with a few tables inside as well as a few outside. When I arrived, the outdoor seating was full but there was a few tables available inside that were perfect for my needs (dining and working). It's an order at the counter set up. I knew I wanted a sandwich and was leaning toward an avocado sandwich they had on menu. The worker was excessively kind and welcoming. Upon hearing it was my first time there, they asked if I might like a recommendation. I mentioned I was thinking of getting a sandwich. They shared that they're favorite sandwich was the baked tofu. I asked if I could get it with avocado added, they enthusiastically recommended I do so! I did, and my goodness--that sandwich was outta this world. It was absolutely divine. It came with some cucumbers that were seasoned and seemed to have maybe a squeeze of citrus as well? I truly don't know what they had on them but what a simple yet absolutely astoundingly fresh and fabulous side. Whether you're vegan, vegetarian, or simply like good food--seriously, give this gem a shot. It is well worth the stop. Get to it!
