We always enjoy our meals at Lola's! It's set up like a fifty's diner. So cute! Staff is always personable and kind. Burgers are yummy and cooked perfectly to our satisfaction. Pancakes and egg dishes are good as well. My only issue was with Lola's fruit crepes. Loved that I had the choice of fresh fruit or compote. However the crepes were thicker than I'm used to and they were dark. A brownish color that I think was due to cinnamon and perhaps nutmeg that was a little too flavored for me. I like my crepes more mild flavored. But they were still good and I cleaned my plate! Lots of food options. Opened for dinner only on certain nights. Call before you go. Enjoy! read more

Place was busy and parking lot was full but we got seated and served so quickly. Loved the diner inside but It was a little chilly with the breeze every time the door opened. Coffee was standard diner coffee but they were prompt with keeping the cup full. Greek skillet was so unique and tasty came with a side of pancakes as well. Lola's is not a glamorous restaurant but if you want good solid food and a waitstaff that hustles and is super friendly, Lola's is the place to go. We had a good standard breakfast of eggs, homemade hash browns and a nice slice of ham. Everything was very good but Jose, our waitstaff person, truly made this such an enjoyable breakfast. He could not have been nicer and so very friendly. You always want good food when dining out but what makes it really a great time is the person who is taking care of you. I love Lola's Diner! The price of the food is absolutely amazing especially for how huge the portions are. The food always tasted great as well. There are also a bunch of options and they're very open to supplementing foods. The diner itself looks super cute, it has a retro old diner look to it with teal booths and chairs, just a nice environment overall. This diner is cute. I really wanted to enjoy the food but that wasn't the case. I had the chilaquiles special with scrambled eggs (well), red sauce and steak. The eggs were brown, the sauce was thick and the steak was dark, hard and dry. It looked like I got someone's leftovers. Went here for dinner on a Friday night and it was a sh*t show. Waitperson didn't know anything about the menu. Very loud music playing from the kitchen. All staff looked younger than 20 and like they didn't want to be there. Ordered the country fried steak and it was absolutely disgusting. Mashed potatoes were hard. Literally. Gravy was putrid. Literally. I sent it back and got mean looks from kitchen staff the rest of the time I was there. I won't be back. Not even for breakfast after that. Lola's should be embarrassed. I recently went with my 3 kids and all was going well until the food was brought out. We had 2 orders of pancakes, 1 order of french toast, and a reuben sandwich and fries. The food came out promptly but the fries were already cold and soggy, seemingly not fresh. We were short utensils, no ketchup, no syrup brought with our orders so everyone had to wait to eat. I also did not receive any dressing with my reuben. We were eventually brought the syrup, ketchup and utensils, but for the dressing I had to wait...and wait...and wait...For anyone that eats reubens, they know that the dressing is key to the reuben! By the time I got my dressing, the sandwich was cold and soggy. The dressing was also unusually thick and flavorless. I'm giving 2 stars because for whatever reason, they gave my kids 5 huge pancakes EACH when the normal order is 3 pancakes. The restaurant also had a musty smell. My wife and I both had the navy bean soup. It was pretty good. My wife had a Cobb salad she liked it and the portion was massive. I had the Turkey and bacon club it was pretty good. This place was such a great find! We stopped by after having gone to the spa. It was around 10 am and we were originally hankering for a burger (I know it was still early) and stumbled on this place. First off - the bright awning was inviting and make the restaurant so incredibly cute and inviting. It's street parking and we got lucky and got a spot directly across the street and once we got out of the car, we were assaulted with all the yummy smells. Secondly - my NY self LOVES diners and spent many a nights hanging out in them and my heart did a happy dance when we walked in and that was exactly the feel that we got! It was bustling but not yet full (we arrived at the perfect time before the huge rush) and the plates were piled high with food. We were seated immediately and looked over the extensive menu. You want breakfast? They've got it...You want a burger? Yup...A salad? Go for it! It pretty much had everything you may want. We ordered the Monte Cristo and something called The Nest. * Monte Cristo - It's essentially a ham, turkey and Swiss sandwich but instead of just being made with regular bread, it's made with French toast, sprinkled with some powdered sugar and usually is accompanied by some kind of jam like raspberry. I am always on the search for a REALLY good one...we're talking about a Bennigan's one that is deep fried goodness. Sadly, this was not it. Despite not being what we hoped for, it was still delicious in its simplicity. It was a straight-forward Monte Cristo - two slices of French toast filled with ham, turkey and Swiss. The only thing is that it was not served with any kind of jam to dip into or spread across. When we asked if it was served with anything like that, they didn't know what we were talking about and looked like it was a foreign thing. * The Nest. So what is it? So, you take your eggs and cheese and meat of choice (in this case, sausage) and you wrap it all around shredded potato hash. The perfect bite has crispy hash browns with creamy and cheesy eggs and a little bit of the meat. It was a lot but it was so good that I finished it! Overall, we loved this place. It was cozy and homey and everything you want in a diner. Sometimes you don't want fancy...you want comforting and this was it. If you want something healthier like an apple pecan salad, Lola's Diner has that too. I was in the mood for a BLT so I ordered a BLT with french fries. The BLT tasted good and it came with crinkle fries, which I liked. The meal was excellent. Service: The manager was friendly and our food was ready as soon as I got there. My boyfriend and I visited Chicago this last week and we got to try Lola's diner. First I would like to add that the portions sizes are great you get a lot of food for fair prices. I got French toast which made it to my stomach before taking a picture but I believe it came with 6-7 slices. The French toast came with a side of bacon or two other choices of ham or sausage. They were made perfectly, the French toast was not dry and it had a lot of flavor. I would highly recommend you give them a try. read more

Hello Foodzies, recently Glenda and I found ourselves in Park ridge and on the recommendation of my good friend Paul Villanueva we ate at Lola's diner at 920 Busse rd. When we entered it was as if we were transported back 60 years (not a theme restaurant either) the booths and chairs were all matching blue and white vinyl, the hostess area was glass blocks and the middle of the restaurant were in closed plastic showcases with an eclectic display of 60s items. The coffee cups were so old the there were silver stir marks around the inside and they had the old fashion sugar dispenser. Our hostess and server Ale was nice and friendly but not very attentive. We had to wave her over to get coffee and then again to place our order. Glenda had the ham and egg crepes, they were very good, the crepes were sweet and fluffy no syrup needed. The ham was off the bone and eggs scrambled nicely. I went with the Italian omelette it was packed with flavor the sausage, onions green peppers and mozzarella melded perfectly, and it was seasoned well. The portions are good size and worth it. Walked into Lola's diner and placed two orders to go. I drove 20 minutes before attempting to eat the food as I was sharing with an elderly person. Order one - Part of the order (bacon slices) were not in the container with the French toast. Not sure why you would keep one item warm and not the other? Imagine my surprise when I arrived at the destination (20 minutes away) and found the bacon was cold. Order two - French Toast with sausage - DID NOT RECEIVE THE SAUSAGE. I drove back 20 minutes to get the missing item only to hear "sorry we usually credit the missing items when you call, if you come back, we only provide the missing item/s". Does this mean this happens often? When I pressed for an accommodation, they offered $2.00 (so much for that tip). It gets better, the replacement (sausage) was handed to me in wax paper and the cashier was too busy to provide the $2.00 refund. I walked out as an ex-customer! read more
