As always never disappoints and truly one of the best little hole in the wall diner/breakfast spots around. Popped in a little later than usual. So we decided to try something different and ordered lunch. Such an amazing Feeling to walk in and the server that we usually work with know exactly what we want. Gayla is our server and she is absolutely incredible... when eating here we feel like we are part of a really big amazing family. Love this spot!!

Very classic style diner for breakfast and lunch. They have their own parking in the back. It's also conveniently located if you decide to walk from a hotel that you are staying at like I did. As you enter, there is an ATM machine. They only accept cash. So bring $20 or more for your food plus tax and tip. The owner and waitresses are very friendly. They serve the food fairly quick. The food presentation was not fancy but definitely scrumptious. Their house salsa has a kick to it. Definitely try it out if you like spicy salsa. The food portion was adequate. I was very filled with one skillet plate. Overall,it gets a 4.8 out of 5!

I enjoy the atmosphere of a classic diner and Mac's definitely has it. The food was good. The coffee is strong (it gave me a headache), and the classic breakfast (eggs, sausage links , and pancakes) is good. The service is attentive. I appreciate that they had a "lighter" section in the menu. Tip: Read through the extensive menu. They have many options! And they serve breakfast all day.

Visiting Chicago, Nov' 23. Stopped by Mac's restaurant for breakfast / brunch. Had the dish with Ham and egg and hash browns. And toast and jam (not pictured). I don't remember name of the dish. Food was great tasting, ham had right amount of salt and sodium. Nothing was spicy and food was rather bland, but it was tasty enough and I'll give it a pass. Solid breakfast spot. The one negative, they accept cash only; and I was lucky that I had a 20 dolla bill stashed just in case. Because I don't imagine they woulda been happy if I only had card no cash. But yeah, pretty cool breakfast spot in Chicago area. Check it out. I promise won't be disappointed -- I know I was not.

Side ramekin of their homemade salsa. You can see their knife work and I promise you it's worth trying!

Came into town for a meeting and was here for a couple hours. My friend suggested we have lunch here, and I am very glad we did! It's right off the exit near O'Hare, but if you don't know about this spot, chances are you drive by without getting the benefit of their fantastic offerings! We were greeted by Nick (owner/GM?), and Beth was our server. Everyone was super friendly and helpful- offering advice, getting refills, making sure we were completely satisfied with the meal. The diner has parking on the side and in the back lot, plenty to accommodate everyone if they drove separately. Diners are still going strong in Chicagoland, but now that I'm in GA, I don't have as many options where I live. I usually get an omelette (ham and Swiss) but I changed my order up and went with do red beef hash, a short stack of pancakes, and a side of loaded home fries (Swiss cheese, bacon, onions and potatoes, all cooked to the highest level of crispiness. Nick told me that they make their own salsa, and that people love it. I got a side to try with my loaded home fries- I can get into some serious trouble if I still lived in town here! You can tell they are making this fresh, onions and tomatoes, seasoning, hot peppers, everything is cut nicely into even pieces so you are getting the best of everything when you get into a bite- I loved it! They had two soups today, cream of potato and beef barley. I have been up for almost two days, flying on a redeye from Vegas to ATL, then over to O'Hare for the meeting today. As soon as I get home I am going to sleep for hours! You simply must come in and meet the team that's crushing it out here in Park Ridge. Nick and Beth were the two names I remembered since my brain is operating at low performance from a lack of sleep. I will tell you that it's probably impossible to get out of here without being completely satisfied. They have a personal touch on everything that's obvious in every bite you take. Support small businesses! Thanks for a great lunch today Nick and Beth! I'll be back next time I'm in town!

The breakfast was excellent. There were so many choices I have to return again to try more. They have a parking lot but I parked on the street because it was very packed. The service was great they were very attentive and kept refilling the coffee . It is a family atmosphere place. Booths and counter seating Reasonable prices I look forward to dining there again

I love breakfast food, especially good breakfast food. Macs Restaurant is an old world diner w/excellent food. If your a meat lover you have to try their meat lovers skillet. This comes w/sausage, bacon & ham over potatoes w/eggs. As always I asked for my potatoes cooked well & crispy (excellent perfectly done) & my eggs over easy (once again perfectly done over east w/a nice gooey yolk). Just the way I like my potatoes & eggs. The one exception I had was do I want 2 or 3 eggs, of course I asked for 3. I'm a little bit surprised by a $3.00 add for an egg? Oh well I asked for it and I got it. That being said the meat lovers skillet was excellent w/all the ingredients cooked to perfection per my specifications.

Ordered the French toast, eggs, bacon, and hash browns. Service was phenomenal. A great breakfast place. Highly recommend. We stopped on our way from O'Hare into downtown. I'll be back again.

We stopped here after dropping off some friends at the Ohare airport, this breakfast place is located conveniently only 10 minutes away and opens at 7 am. The stand outs of the meal were the blueberry pancakes (super fluffy and delicious and full of berries), as well as the fast and efficient service. We also tried the two egg breakfast with bacon, and hash browns added on the side, which we thought was good, but overall could have been more flavorful in my opinion. I did really enjoy the super crispy bacon, which tasted somewhat like chicharron in my opinion, if you've ever had that before. Oh! And another thing to be aware of is this place is CASH ONLY!

All the food we got was up to par as far as quality and quantity. They also had these Cinnabuns that looked absolutely delicious a few people around us got to try. Service was good and attentive. The restaurant in itself is rather large with ample seating. Becoming more of a breakfast person throughout my lifetime and this was definitely better than any ihop I've ever tried!

I don't remember it being this bad but... now I know, I guess. Food was not great. The pancakes were kind of--well, gummy is the word that springs to mind. Not pleasant to eat, at any rate. The omelet I ordered, the Southwestern Omelet I think, was ok. It was a bit thin, but maybe that's just because there were a lot of ingredients in it. The "Homemade" lemonade tasted like it was fountain lemonade. I left half of it, and the half that was consumed was mostly because my child wanted some. That was especially disappointing, because I don't order lemonade at restaurants unless it's not Minute Maid because that stuff is awful--and if Elly's truly has homemade lemonade, they should be embarrassed that it tastes identical to what Coke sells. I don't usually eat everything when I go out for breakfast and am happy to take half home for another breakfast, but I didn't want to take any of this home with me. I will say that they're fast--we were here less than an hour. I think it took fewer than 15 minutes from the time we were seated to when we got our meal, and we didn't order immediately upon being seated. We went on Saturday round 9:45 a.m. and it was half empty, though it was Easter weekend so I'm not sure if that had any impact.

The diner has a classic, retro feel with a checkerboard aesthetic that gives it a traditional diner vibe. It is not very modern or trendy, but it is clean and well-kept, which is really what matters. The space feels simple and comfortable, making it a place someone can visit regularly for a quick, reliable meal. The menu is very straightforward and features typical diner staples. The food was pretty good, but the dishes were very basic with nothing particularly unique about them. It felt like the kind of food you might make at home, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it wasn't especially memorable either. I ordered an egg sandwich with cheese and sausage ($9.95). I also ordered bacon on the side (3 for $4.25). The egg sandwich was okay, but the bagel tasted like those cheap bagels you would get at a hotel during their complimentary breakfast that come from a bag. The sandwich didn't have anything on it other than exactly what they called it on the menu: a bagel, sausage links cut in half, an egg, and cheese. Nothing on the sandwich was seasoned or flavorful. My husband enjoyed his food much more than I did, and he ordered the Big Texas Breakfast ($12.95). This came with country-fried steak with sausage gravy on top, 2 eggs your way, and hash brown potatoes. He also ordered sausage links on the side (3 for $4.25). The service was friendly, and everything came out in a reasonable amount of time, which worked well for us since we were on a bit of a tight schedule. Overall, Lola's Diner delivered a simple diner experience with homemade-style food. I would come here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice for breakfast.
