This place is connected to a gas station, but was surprisingly GREAT!! Service was great!! The drinks were huge (especially for only $9.50) & had real fruit, not a bunch of artificial sweeteners. I asked for a smaller one the 2nd time around($1 cheaper). The blackberry was my favorite ~it had a ton of blackberries in the bottom of it! The chicken chimichanga was also very large. I would have liked it to be a tad crisper and for it to come with a side of lettuce and sour cream, but it was still great. My husband loved his taco salad. We will be back!!

I can't say enough about how well we were treated here and how good the food is. We had a party of ten and they accommodated us quickly. The restaurant is located next to a gas station. It is small, but has plenty of seating and parking. We were served by an outstanding server. She was hospitable, patient and attentive. Chips and salsa were brought to our table as soon as we were seated and replenished when they ran low. We all ordered different items. I went with the shrimp tacos with onions and cilantro and a side of rice and beans. The food was tasty and the portions generous. Everyone from our group enjoyed the food and experience. We will be back!

All I can say is OMG. Looking for Mexican food while in Buford. Pulled up to this spot and instantly was about to turn around. It is attached to a gas station. But went in anyway. Health score is 96. First, service here is impeccable. We ordered street tacos (steak and shrimp) with corn tortillas. The tortillas were fresh, fresh and fresh. No bag stuff. Taste like authentic street tacos. We also ordered the taco salad. The taco was fresh as well as the lettuce. The tamarind margarita was the best. It had tamarind at the bottom. Sweet and tart. I highly recommend this spot.

This small local Mexican place beside a gas station is phenomenal. Honestly, if a restaurant has the guts to sit themselves beside a gas station & survive.. you know it's good. This place was awesome. There were only a few people in there because it is Buford and it wasn't near a ton of businesses. We we're starving after a 5k at lake Lanier & dropped here to fix that issue. We had 5 of us and sat right away at a booth table hybrid. We got two orders of chorizo queso because we couldn't get enough of it. They have two kinds of hot sauce and both were good. I had the enfrijolades and they were amazing. The prices were reasonable and worth it for sure. If I were in the area again, id totally go back

What a miserable experience - tasteless chicken, cold beef inside the burrito - the beans were like brown caulk! Barely any onions in the fajitas and the chicken was done consistency of water logged play-dough mixed with sawdust! Wow - we literally left all of the food! Changing from 1 to 2 stars - as the manager took some of the food off the bill - and offered to make new stuff - but we were already done... Maybe too an off night :(

Looking for a great local Mexican Cantina restaurant? Look no further! True, authentic and best Mexican food around this area (Buford, Sugar Hill, Cumming). I had their special soup and my husband had the shrimp tacos. This is our new Mexican dive!

Absolutely the best local REAL Mexican restaurant. The owner are the real deal and everyone that works there make you feel like family 5***** stars

We came to this place because we saw 4.5 stars and thought we would have great Mexican food, but after my dinning experience I'm not sure how did they end up with 4.5 stars. The place looks decent like a typical Mexican place. The service was ok. Our waitress in particular was not great. Not sure if she was too busy but really not very personal and friendly. The food was mediocre and my dish in particular was a disappointment. I ordered a vegetarian option and she said it would come with zucchini's and mushrooms but 99% was onions and there was no mushrooms, so I questioned her and she brought me a small plate with some cooked mushrooms. I was not supper happy but I made it work. But besides that, the food has not much taste. On the positive side the margarita was huge and while it was not the best I ever had it was also not the worse. Overall I'm giving this place a 3 star because I understand we are not in regular times and I want to be reasonable with my expectations.

The restaurant is big, spacious, and doesn't make you feel like you're dining inside a shoebox. Now... the booths. You know those tragic booths where one side is basically punishment seating? Or the table leans like it's trying to escape? Or the seat rocks like you're on a mechanical bull you did not sign up for? Yeah, none of that here. Everything was sturdy, level, and shockingly... normal. A tiny miracle. I failed at my food‑photographer duties and didn't get pics of my husband's or father‑in‑law's meals, but trust me, they inhaled them. I ordered the birria tacos and let me tell you....these things were loaded. Not "Instagram loaded." I mean real loaded. One taco almost took me out. Two had me questioning my life decisions in the best way. Perfect seasoning, zero complaints. Dessert? Also no pics because apparently I blacked out from happiness. But listen here............. CHOCOFLAN with ice cream. Get it. Get it to‑go. Get two. It's a non‑negotiable.

There are no vegetarian options on the menu. But when we asked, they made them. The rice has chicken powder sprinkled so be cautious. The service is impeccable. The drinks are top-notch. The street corn is heavenly. The mole has the right amount of sweetness, tanginess. The spicy salsa Verde is ok, but they charged $3.50 which is pricier. Beware, as there is only street parking, you need to circle a few times during peak times for parking.

As a frequent visitor to their various locations, I walked in with high expectations for both the atmosphere and the kitchen. While the flavors on this visit were a bit of a rollercoaster, the exceptional customer service and stunning interior design make it a standout destination in the local dining scene. Hacienda stays true to its brand with an eye-catching and vibrant interior. The decor is a masterclass in modern Mexican aesthetics. Bold colors, intentional lighting, and a layout that feels both spacious and intimate. I was promptly greeted by a friendly hostess who seated me in a cozy corner booth, perfect for a quick business lunch or a relaxed solo meal. While the food had some misses, the staff at the Buford location is world-class. My server/hostess was super sweet, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. In an era where great service can be hard to find, the team here reminded me why this chain has such a loyal following. It's the kind of hospitality that makes you want to give a place a second chance, even if the kitchen had an off day. I opted for the lunch special accompanied by their signature queso and a pineapple juice. As a fan of the queso at other Hacienda locations, I had high hopes. It's a staple for a reason, though it didn't quite hit the peak flavor I've experienced elsewhere this time around. The salsa was also a bit of a letdown. It lacked that signature zest and kick you expect from authentic Mexican spots, feeling a bit under seasoned. I'd describe the burrito as mid. On the plus side, it was packed with protein, which was great for satisfying a serious hunger, but it lacked the flavor profile I usually associate with Hacienda's recipes. I have to be honest. The pineapple juice was a disappointment. It tasted more like sugar water than fresh fruit, and I'd recommend sticking to their margaritas or water instead. Hacienda in Buford is a beautiful space with a staff that truly cares about the guest experience. While the kitchen didn't quite meet the stellar mark on this particular visit, the protein heavy portions and the vibrant atmosphere still make it a solid choice for a quick lunch near the Mall of Georgia. Because the service was so incredible, I'm definitely open to returning to see if the flavors catch up to the hospitality. #ashsaidit #HaciendaBuford #BufordEats #GwinnettDining #MexicanFoodGA #RestaurantReview
