This spot is killing it! My husband and I have been looking forward to a different kind of place on the water since everything is American food and this new authentic spot is it!!!! The portion sizes are huge! We got a sampler for appetizer and were so full and then for the meal we got steak tacos only $8 for 3 and taco salad! Everything was delicious. Also the coconut mojitos yum yum! Highly recommend. We are looking forward to the beautiful inside being open! Love the fun atmosphere. Also the prices for being on the lake are very inexpensive. Ummmm. Judging by the bouncy music and Corona-themed decor, this restaurant is more of a Senor Frogs-themed restaurant than a "Tex-Mex" joint. The waterfront scene is cool as is the vibrant atmosphere. Came here on the day before Father's Day. The service was excellent and friendly. My friends ordered burrito bowls. Sadly, the they were mostly rice and minimal protein. I had the skirt steak--ordered medium rare and came out limp, reddish and without char. I sent it back and it came back acceptable. I always judge a Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant (Yes. there is difference.) by the quality of salsa/sauces offered. Lola's has a limited offering--bad and worse. No heat or selection. (Does the kitchen know what a jalepeno pepper is?) BTW, Tex-Mex food is NEVER served with black beans. Pinto Beans always as a side. I know because i grew up in Texas. In any case, our party enjoyed our time together despite the Taco Bell-style quality of the food. OH! forget to mention that the menu was a "Fathers Day Menu" which increased the prices about 15%-20% over the regular menu. Hey, got to get the revenue! We stopped in on Mother's Day around 1130 got a table right away and we ordered a cocktail not knowing that they were having a Mother's Day brunch. I asked for a menu and the server said that they only had the brunch going so seeing that I ordered the drink already. I said OK do they have tacos at brunch? He said yes everything is very good. First off they were not replacing the food fast enough everything was cold and the taste of everything was really terrible. The desserts were boxed cookies. My husband got the check to his surprised it was $40 a person which was totally outrageous. He didn't know what to say, and then the server said we could add an extra tip, even though the tip was on the check, they had a 20% tip in the server didnt do anything. Eight of us went to Lola's last Sunday for a birthday celebration. I made a reservation on 7/10 for 7/30. Upon arrival, we checked in and were immediately told we would have to wait an hour if we wanted to sit outside. Meanwhile, there were plenty of empty tables that they could have easily pushed 2 of them together. I was frustrated, as I had called several times to confirm everything. The hostess then spoke poorly of me to a coworker in Spanish, not realizing that I understand some Spanish, and one of my friends knows Spanish fluently. Finally we were seated an hour later, at a table that was wobbly and wasn't set with utensils and napkins. We asked for utensils and napkins several times and didn't receive them until after appetizers were brought out. Additionally, we had to ask several times for plates, which were also brought out well after the appetizers were served. Two of my friends wanted non alcoholic "mocktails", and they were told that couldn't be done-- REALLY?! You're unable to make a virgin drink? They were offered soda or lemonade. Pathetic. We asked for more chips and salsa (there were 8 of us, so the 2 baskets they brought went rather quickly). We saw later when the bill came that we were charged for the additional FREE chips and salsa. My friend ordered a salad, and the lettuce was missing! They brought her a plate of lettuce after she asked for it, and she was charged for the lettuce!! I asked for some sour cream and tomatoes with my salad and I was charged for that as well! The bill took forever to come , after asking for it a few times. The waitress did the best she could, but she was not attentive, as she was the only server for a large part of the restaurant. Parking was also a nightmare. I'm giving 1 star for the location and views of the water. Save your money and energy and go somewhere else on the water. The Windlass is beautiful and not chaotic like Lola's. read more

Every single car that came after us was told the same thing and equally as annoyed. Our only option was to keep driving around and wait...ridiculous! Reservations mean nothing at this establishment and we were told there was nothing they could do. Security and employees were complaining and stressed. Food has no flavor and my margarita had too much liquor I got tipsy off of one drink. Ask took my daughter to the bathroom, no toilet paper or paper towels floor and sink area were soaked. I asked our server to recommend a sangria, and he steered me right with the red. A warning about parking, though. It is usually valet and got pretty crazy over the weekend. The set up is pretty cool on the lake. The fact that I am obligated to valet my car is a little annoying. I don't usually carry cash -- but the valets know this so they're more than happy to give you their Venmo or Cashapp so you can tip them. Food is alright, nothing extraordinary. I will definitely recommend either sitting outside UPSTAIRS or just sit inside. Sitting ground level next to the water you have to contend with any bugs, bees or smelly water from the lake. This is usually a sign that you're skimping out things like sea salt and using table salt. They're not the same and makes your food taste bland. Spend the extra $$$ on seasoning 3) Drinks are really good. People who complain they're too sweet don't understand how margaritas, mojitos are made. 4) Vibe is great, keep it up. 5) Either only valet or only self-park the mix of the two isn't working 6) Have staff roaming the parking lot as people wait. Offer drinks, temporary seating, and ask everyone how they're doing. It makes your customers feel important and doesn't cost you a lot. Overall, great potential, I'm excited to see what it becomes.
