I think a gas station used to be here, right on the corner of Lake and California and next to Pie 'N Burger. Now sits there is this fantastic Peruvian restaurant that sells some of the best rotisserie chicken around these parts (no offense to Zankou). Super casual with not too many tables inside. It's not formal or stuffy by any means. Just a place to stop and eat. They also sell chips, dry and canned goods, and a lot of - you guessed it - Inca Kola! Wasn't sure what I was going to get, but once I saw the wood-fired chickens roasting away in back of the counter, the choice was pretty easy. - 1/2 Chicken special with two sides - 8.5/10: Pricepoint wasn't bad at all for this. Came out to around $18 bucks I believe for a meal that could be shared between 2, unless you have a big appetite like I do. Got it with the canary beans and rice. Really love the flavor of the canary beans. It's got like a rich, creamy stock that I love. Rice was alright, maybe a little too overcooked. But everything went well together. Chicken was moist and flavorful. Loved it. You can get other sides like mashed potatoes and fries, too. Other items on the menu include sandwiches, salads, hot dogs, and the Peruvian dessert staple - the alfajore. You gotta try it if you haven't. 3.5 stars but I will round up because its worth coming back to try the other dishes. I have only tried the roast chicken which is tasty. The whole roasted chicken with 2 sides is a great deal. Lots of flavor on the skin and dark meat that is closer to the bone. If you are eating the breast meat there is no flavor inside (a bit expected) and it can be a tiny bit dry so the breast meat does not heat up well. However, its comes with the Aji sauce (green and spicy) and another lighter/white sauce to compensate. The Aji sauce has the right amount of spice and is yummy but I wish the flavor of the herbs stood out a bit more. The other sauce which I dont know the name of is flavorful and creamy. Dipping the meat in the sauce compensates for any dryness. The yuca fries are big and perfectly fried. I dont know why I find its blandness so addicting. The side salad was very fresh. Also tried an Alfajores cookie and it was ok. Unfortunately, I've had a really good homemade one before and nothing I buy in a store seems to be better. Service is very nice. Place is clean. the small place was filled with people eating inside and ordering takeout on a Wednesday night. I think there are about 4-6 tables inside. Parking lot is small so you may have to park on the street and walk over. I would come back and try the other dishes. read more

I was really impressed! On the outside, this place is very unassuming. There's no signage but a chalkboard sign they put out that was kind of faded. But inside, the space is very clean, bright, and open. The menu is pretty simple, wood-fired chicken and sides. For less than $20, we had a plentiful meal for 2. The garlic fries, chicken, and the yellowish sauce they provided was such a yummy bite. The chicken was very juicy and delicious. Came in on a whim and ordered take out. I got the 1/2 chicken with garlic fries and a salad. Total was about $17 before tip It's a cute little shop with some Peruvian treats and sodas. You can browse around while you wait for your order. They also have plenty of seating if you want to dine-in. The chicken was very tender and super flavorful. I enjoyed it very much. This was the first time eating here so I will be very candid. The best part is the food was GREAT and good on the wallet. I ordered a 1/4 chicken with 2 side orders that came out to be only $15. My sides were sweet potato fries and a cucumber salad. You will not find this at a burger joint. The fries were only lukewarm so that was one reason for the lesser rating. The main reason for my rating is the restaurant cleanliness. Inside was ok but I chose to eat on their patio and it was just a mess. Dirty tables, chairs all over the place, and it was like eating out in an alley. I am ok with that myself but I am thinking of the owner of this place. Curb appeal does not long apply to real estate. I am not sure how new this place is but they do not even have a sign outside. Are they under witness protection ? We came across Loli Farms while walking in the neighborhood and decided to stop in for a late lunch. The restaurant is charming and casual -- you order at the counter, and the food is brought to your table. Their specialty is Peruvian-style roasted chicken, marinated for 48 hours and cooked in a wood-fired rotisserie. The chicken is finger-licking flavorful, and the dinner comes with two sides. All the sandwiches are generous in size and served on a fresh Italian style bun with a crunchy crust and soft crumb. We especially enjoyed the beef sandwich, which was served with a rich, flavorful beef jus for dipping and crispy French fries. Not gonna lie, I really wanted to like this place but it's a no for me. First visit, they were brand new so the rough service felt understandable... figured they were just getting their footing. Gave it some time, came back a couple months later, and it was basically the same vibe--still off, still not great service. What really killed it though was the cleanliness. It just didn't feel taken care of. Inside wasn't clean, the boxes were messy, and even the parking lot looked rough. Delightful, unmarked treasure in Pasadena. Wonderful staff and fun, familial vibes all around. The quarter pollo a la brasa with yuca fries and sweet plantains on the side is the move, imo, and all for under fifteen bucks. Hot, fresh made, well seasoned, juicy chicken. I hear the sandwiches are also excellent but not really a sandwich person, but I'm tempted enough to try next time. Tried this place after a lot of hype over the chicken. First of all, chicken was good, very flavorful but was on the salty side. So if salty food is not your thing u should definitely think twice. Was there on a Friday afternoon and there was a bit of a line outside waiting to order. Waited about 40min to get to the front and order, when they announced that the chicken ran out and it would be another 40min for the new batch of chicken to cook. A lot of people on line left in disappointment and complained. This place has to get it together and value people's time more. Regarding the staff, no one seems to be in a hurry here so if you value your time and don't like waiting then this place is a no. Even though the chicken was tasty, it was definitely not worth the waiting. Also it is way over priced. $45 for a whole average size chicken. One note, the green sauce is delicious. Based on my over all experience it is not worth the hype. Management needs to figure out how to keep the chicken coming out of the oven and not make people wait while it cooks. Having eaten at nearly 40 Peruvian restaurants, Loli Farms does disappoint. Considering it is such a simple menu - Pollo a la Brasa (rotisserie chicken or charcoal chicken), one would believe this would be the star of the restaurant. No such luck. While I see wood logs used for the rotisserie chicken, I can barely taste the mesquite smokiness. The chicken just lacked flavour - little seasoning without properly marinating the chicken. The Salchipapas (a Peruvian/Latin American street dish consisting of french fries smothered with sliced fried sausages, ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, aji amarillo, etc.), was not well made. The Loli Farms version only fried the french fries once and not twice. The result is soggy tasting fries. Also, there was no aji amarillo (Peruvian chili sauce). Service is slow - a 20 minute wait for a a non busy time. Chicken is already cooked. It just needs to be cut and boxed. How can such a simple menu lack flavour, quality and speed? The indoor seating area is a bit claustrophobic with barely adequate space to move around from the seating area and the order counter...the plus side is there are about seven parking spaces in the lot. Overall, I would not recommend this place since there are better options for pollo a la brasa. read more

This is the best rotisserie chicken I've ever had. Maybe that says a lot about how many rotisseries I've had/haven't had, but whatever, I love it. I ordered this for the first time last night, ate half, and ate the rest for lunch today. I ordered it again for tonight's dinner! The chicken breast is tender, even after being refrigerated and microwaved for lunch. The ají verde is fresh and flavorful. Service was quick, about 20 minutes of prep. The little market is a nice addition with some Peruvian snacks and goods. I wish this business the best because I plan to come back a lot! read more

On a Saturday 11am in March, my sister and I were in Pasadena to try new restaurant. It's located at the corner of California and Lake next to pie n burger spot. Outside there is no grand opening sign just a small chalkboard sign. We were greeted by the nice owner and explained the menu to us. Inside was cozy of smell of chicken grilling on firewood. There are shelves of Peruvian items and tables to sit. We ordered the family plan of whole chicken, 3sides, 2 liter Inca soda. He gave us a sample of beans, chicken pieces and mash potatoes which was tasty. We got sweet potatoes fries, plain fries, mash potatoes with whole chicken. It was so juicy and tender and the skin was yummy. I was full with med and thigh, and dipping in his 2 sauces. The fries are nicely fried and not greasy at all. There is a barrel of water on the counter. Next time I will try their chicken sandwiches. read more

A little over a week ago, I placed a pickup order through Seamless for Mother's Day, scheduled for Sunday, May 10th at 12:00 p.m. At 11:30 a.m. -- just 30 minutes before pickup -- I received a notification that Loli Farms had canceled the order. I immediately tried calling the restaurant multiple times and nobody answered the phone. No explanation, no attempt to help, nothing. Because of this, my family was left scrambling on Mother's Day trying to figure out an alternative meal at the last minute. Canceling a holiday order half an hour before pickup with zero communication is completely unacceptable. Extremely disappointing experience and incredibly poor customer service. read more

I usually get the 1/4 piece chicken and ask for the dark meat, with plantains & garlic fries. My husband went 2 weeks ago and had their chicken, upon arrival the place was really messy, trash over flowing and employees that seemed to be a bit confused. We got our order 20 minutes after ordering and it came on a no food safe tray with parchment paper lining, it that soon melted to the no food safe tray, and it was room temp. When we arrived we noticed that the trash cans we over flowing and the place seemed a bit dirty. The sauces that were supposed to be for the chicken were to be shared and all greasy and left out to room temp and were mayo based. We got sick for almost two weeks. I do not recommend this plave to anyone until they get a handle on proper food handling. Chicken was good but not hot and the sides the same. we got Food poisoning sadly.
