I decided to come here because i searched up fried chicken and this place appeared. I came during lunch as i read it might be sold out by dinner. The chicken was lightly battered but seasoned. The sauce it came with was interesting. I prefer it with no sauce but if you use the sauce it starts to grow on you. Mac salad is by scoop. They charge about 3 something for 1 scoop. It was not bad. I felt like it was missing something but not quite sure what. For the chicken, they have 3 options. 6 pieces. Or 4 pieces with either rice or mac salad. All 3 option is about $15. Since they make it fresh, it takes about 15 minutes to make. I noticed alot of people call in to place their orders then pick it up. But that makes sense since you cant dine in. Wow! You heard right, this was some of the best crispy fried chicken we've had in a long time! My wife loves fried chicken, and while I've taken her to other places, she still loves Jollibee. But, move over Jollibee, we have a new king! This crispy fried chicken was excellent! I read online that it's off the menu and they only make about 60 orders a day, so plan ahead if you want to try it! I was a little disappointed there's no place to sit down, as they are take-out only. However, they go to great lengths to ensure you enjoy your crispy chicken while it's still crispy. The cashier made sure to emphasize the importance of letting the styrofoam box breathe by leaving it open inside the plastic bag, which keeps the chicken crispy. They truly have it down to a science! This place has been on my to try list for along time, and I was finally able to try it recently. I ordered their fried chicken, short rib bbq plate, and two spam musubis. For all of these items, the check was just under $50 (inflation amirite?). I inhaled my spam musubi with egg on the ride back home, and quickly opened up and ate the short rib plate and fried chicken to try to eat it while it was hot. The food in my opinion was delicious. The plates came with 2 scoops of rice and 1 scoop of macaroni salad. The HIGHLIGHT was the macaroni salad! Being from Hawaii, this brought me back home right away. It was just right and it was addictive. The rice was also just right - a little sticky and perfect. The meats varied. The bbq chicken had good flavor and was not dry. The bbq beef was tender and well marinated. The short ribs were a little disappointing - grisly and a bit bland. I would pass on the noodles next time. They were okay, but not significantly more interesting than Panda Express chow mein. Overall, a decent meal. Easy to order over the phone and the service was very friendly. Our order was accurate. I wanted a fried chicken meal without the chicken/batter/oil mess. It went perfectly with some steamed rice and a side salad. This humble establishment also has spam musubi. They also have a fried fish musubi option which is a nice alternative. The shop does not accommodate dine-in, so take that into account when you're planning your trip. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. They gave me menu recommendations, answered any and all of my questions, as well as left the lids open to the fried chicken to-go boxes so the chicken doesn't get soggy during my drive back home. Top Restaurant is a hole-in-the wall Hawaiian bbq joint that happens to also be Indonesian Fusion. They're located inside a strip mall in Pasadena on Colorado/Allen Ave. There's plenty of free parking inside this corner shopping plaza. Top Restaurant opens at 11am and they only do take-out or phone orders. After you place your order, you can grab a chair inside, stand outside, or return in the standard 35-40 minute wait since all food is cooked fresh. The Crispy Fried chicken is sold to 1 customer only at a time and they only make around 45 orders a day. One order contains six pieces and comes with house and spicy sauce. This was a great place to checkout and see how locals in Pasadena dine. I definitely was intrigued by the Indonesian fried rice and it did not disappoint. The rice had noodles too and was the perfect pairing to go with the crispy fried chicken. No one should ever judge a book by its cover because Top Restaurant is living up to its name! read more

Parking: Shared lot with other businesses. This is a to-go only location. I've been going here for several years now to get my musubi fix. I don't know if the ownership is new as the person who's recently been taking my orders has been a man and no longer the woman. Doesn't change that I still love the musubi here the most. To be fair I only ever get spam musubi and honestly that's all I really expected from here.
