Amazing Mexican bbq spot. Located on Huntington Dr in El Sereno, this spot is hard to miss. Service was great and easy and the food was ready in under 10 minutes. I paid $23 for the full chicken plate and it could easily feed 2-3 people. They also have a half chicken plus beans and rice for under $15. The chicken is moist, juicy, and overall a smokey flavor bomb. The beans are incredible and pack a lot of flavor and the rice complements this meal super well. This spot deserves support and will always be on my radar for a place to eat, please give it a try.

Only about a 15min wait in line. Ordered w/Ryan who had such a great attitude & very welcoming. Ordered chicken sando (mild) fries, comeback & tang sauces. Food came out quickly. Chicken sando is big, great portion size of fries as well. Definitely can share. Normally I don't care for crinkle fries but they were fried & seasoned to perfection. Honorable mention to the staff behind the counter as well, every person I made eye contact with (although they were busy) returned a smile. I appreciate feeling welcomed. Great people & great food.

I decided Howlin Rays deserved my attention. There was already a line in place and they were playing some good music from the restaurant. When it came time for me to order, Ryan at the counter was very friendly to me. Everyone in the restaurant was. I really enjoyed that. I stuck with getting the mild sando, and didn't expect the chicken breast so gigantic! It was a delicious sandwich and the spice was pretty good. I'm glad I didn't go any spicier than that. I ordered the fries which were actually pretty good. They were definitely seasoned, but they weren't heavily in taste sense. They had something for me to drink and it went really well with a meal actually. I'm glad that I could say that I enjoyed this place from beginning to end. It is a little hidden, but luckily for me I found it. Definitely will come back to have my wife try it one day.

Happies is located in Arts District and I came here on a Sunday dinner and didn't have any problems with parking. But, I can see how it might be hard to find if you come during peak hours. The restaurant was pretty empty. First thing I noticed was that there were tons of employees but no one really said anything. Since there was no one ordering, they were all standing around. You can just order at the kiosk but I wanted to ask a few questions but was kind of left to fend for myself. I ended up ordering the chicken tenders and chicken tenders with salad. I thought the restaurant ambience was nice. And after waiting for about 10 minutes, my order came out. They gave me extra sauce but again no explanation on why the extra sauce was provided. As for the food, I thought the chicken was kind of bland. I expected some Sichuan style but hardly any spice on the chicken. Once of the sauces was a Sichuan chili crisp, which gave the chicken more taste. Maybe the chicken was bland because I was supposed to dip it in the sauces? Aside from that, the other sauces were average (ranch and sweet/sour sauce). The salad was definitely a huge miss. They didn't dress the salad properly and only put dressing on top, so I just got a bunch of romaine lettuce at the end. The best part of my meal was the fries, which was crispy and fresh. Also, the fries were pretty generous. I think that the food was just average. Probably will not come back here but glad I came to check out what the hype was about.

The flavors lean authentic Mexican but with a level of care that makes each ingredient stand out on its own. You can tell someone in that kitchen is paying attention. What I appreciated most is that nothing felt overdone. The seasoning is confident without trying too hard, and everything tastes clean, balanced, and purposeful. It's also a great spot when you want something fast but still healthy and very well made, which is harder to find than it should be. It's the kind of place where you slow down a little because you don't want to miss what's happening in each bite. If you're looking for bold, thoughtful flavor without the gimmicks, this is an easy yes.

The menu here is comparable to a place like El Pollo Loco with the type of chicken, though I'm assuming the food is a bit of a higher quality. I ended up ordering a two piece chicken plate with my sides consisting of the Macaroni and Cheese as well as the Sweet Potatoes. I'm going to get the bad out of the way first, the Sweet Potatoes were kinda gross and it doesn't bring me joy to say that. They simply didn't taste good and I'm usually a fan of Sweet Potatoes. The Macaroni and Cheese was pretty solid, though on the runny side but did taste alright. The chicken itself was good, cooked well, on the juicy side, and the skin had solid flavour. Overall, I had a mixed experience with Wildbird. The food was not something I see myself craving, but at the same time it's also a place I want to give another try.

We found many…read moreother dishes, including the Japanese take on Chinese congee and the fried chicken equally delicious. Service was excellent. The ambience is definitely something one might find in a small Japanese.Yakatori restaurant in Japan. Restaurant reservations are essential here. The size of the restaurant, and the way that they serve from the kitchen make walk-ins a matter of patience. You may wait upwards of an hour and a half fairly easily. Is it worth it? Sure. But not everybody will think so. The vibe of the restaurant is to let people eat drink talk and have a good time. They are very comfortable with letting people take their time. This is not a restaurant that frequently turns tables. The star down is because I really feel like they should both present on their website, and put out at their door that this is that kind of unique, relaxed dining experience. There's nothing wrong with it. You order two orders of their five sampler yakitori and it will come out over the course about an hour. Everything is made very fresh, which is wonderful. I think it would be much appreciated to people to know how the pace and style of the restaurant is set up. If you were thinking that you could drop in here and have a quick bite before going to a show or a gallery event, you would be very much in the wrong place for that kind of night. It's atypical of not only the pace of most restaurants in Los Angeles, but of restaurants in America, in general. Clarity of what the experience is would do more honor to the food that's being served and the style in which it is being served.

We ordered a variety of skewers to try and I honest don't have a favorite because EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS! You have a choice between salt and sauce for most skewers and I like both options! - Oyako bowl: this is sooo good!!! Very very flavorful but not overly salty at all! The rice is so soft and fluffy and the chicken is sooo tender! I also like how the eggs are a little runny so they blend perfectly into the rice! - Zoisui: this is the chicken porridge with so much flavored packed! Again the chicken is super tender! Staff are super friendly! They don't validate parking but you can get partial validation at the supermarket just downstairs (minimum is $25).
