I'm just baffled at the lack of flavor our food had. Bland is an understatement wow! I've never gone to a "Mexican" restaurant & not enjoy my food. Get this kitchen some spices, seasonings, jalapeños, something, anything. The establishment is small, the table set up could be better. It has nice overall look in the decor also cleanliness was a thumbs up. The staff was pleasant although dry if that makes sense. It seemed like they were understaffed & overwhelmed even though it wasn't busy. It was a much older crowd on a Saturday night which was surprising. They have posted closing time is 9pm. We noticed this place does not cater to Latinos at all, it's impossible. If they did they wouldn't be serving such tasteless food. Also why did I get charged $26.00 for just veggies fajitas (I'm vegan) & my coworker who ordered chicken fajitas was charged the same price. What a rip off. I'm just all around frustrated with this place. I don't care what area you're located in, cook/serve good authentic food & season it up! This BLAND overpriced nonsense is unacceptable, do better. The burrito and tacos were tasty, and usually I resent places that make you pay for chips and salsa, but their salsa was much better than average, so I didn't feel too bad. The inside was really cute and dare I say instagrammable. Overall, a solid option for Mexican if you're in the UES. read more

Really disappointed in this meal, not only did I pay $8 dollars for chips and salsa, my burrito had maybe two chunks of chicken in it, couldn't taste any chicken, very little of what they call refried beans, and there was supposed to be sour cream in it. ROTTEN FOOD. I just ordered a salad, and the cucumbers were incredibly sour/tart and unsafe to eat... to the point that they tasted rotten. They agreed to remake it for me "without the chicken", but after the cashier spoke to the female owner, the female owner gave me pushback and basically told me that they peeled their cucumbers fresh every day, rather than checking on the cucumbers from my plate. Horrible customer service. They clearly thought I was trying to get a free meal so I just told them that I didn't want it and walked out. I paid nearly $30 for salad, chips and diet coke plus 10% tip for counter service. Huge waste of money. Will never return. Stopped by this restaurant for some quick bite. It's a pretty authentic Mexican shop with floral decor interiors, perfect for the gram. They also have an outdoor dining area as the indoors doesn't have AC. My gf ordered the Fresh Spinach and Tomato Quesadilla ($8.50), which she enjoyed. What stood out was how crispy the tortilla was on both sides as they usually get soggy due to the cheese. I ordered the Steak Burrito ($11), which was pretty good and filling. Delicious, fresh, and fun atmosphere. Very nicely priced. Great service. Had the carnitas tostados and they were so good. Plenty of meat. We had the salsa, guacamole appetizer. Only beer and wine but we were good with that. Guys had the tacos and beans and rice were optional so if you don't want a lot of food it was nice to have the choice. My main gripe was that the prices on the menu were *significantly* higher than those online and on Yelp above (3 tacos were listed as $11 online, $13.50 on Yelp but were $20+ on the in-person dinner menu, and the same applied across the menu). The food was fine but for that price, I would've expected better flavors / presentation / creativity. We both agreed that a burrito from Chipotle would have done the same (possibly slightly better) job for a lower price. Overall the food was good, with adequate portions. The interior decor is adorable and they played great music. Service was quick and friendly. The ambience is pleasant - although I was seated in a very uncomfortable chair, one of only two such chairs in the room. The staff were also quite pleasant but rendered slow service even though the place was not full. Indeed it was more than half empty when our drink order was taken and at least 20 minutes before those drinks arrived. Everyone in my party was quite satisfied with their food. Prices were in line with other similar restaurants in the area at about $45 per person for three drinks and three entrees, tax and tip. There is a prominently disclosed 4% surcharge added for use of credit cards. (Chips and salsa are not put on the table - as they used to be in many a Mexican restaurant.) read more

The worst experience I have ever had at any establishment in New York City Should have known when there was only one customer with a computer and a glass of wine. We walked in at 8pm. My friend and I had a glass of wine each with guacamole & chips. We then ordered a bottle of wine. Which they took the ordered with no problem. All of a sudden they turned up the lights and started cleaning with the yellow janitor cart. Literally after 15 minutes of the server opening the bottle of wine. Started to hear the kitchen screaming get out! Tell them to leave. This is the worst place. If the kitchen has this kind of attitude and the two women working the front okay with this unexceptionable behavior, no wonder they close early and are so slow. They have no care for what they do and no respect. I have told everyone I can how bad this place is. It happened on Wednesday March the 4th. Chicken Flautas was crunchy and went well with the green sauce, which had a nice kick to it. Fundido was delicious with great flavors from the chorizo, mushroom, jalapenos, onion and mozarella cheese. Overall, it was a solid meal that was filling and affordable. Notes: I forgot to choose which type of Flautas (Chicken or Potato) so they called me within minutes of placing my order online. I thought that was great service. So today I looked up the hours on Yelp and decided to go back to eat brunch. They have a new awning and the great outdoor seating. The reviews are still good on Yelp. I was excited to get back and add my review and photos once again. Low and behold they were closed. Then after looking at the premises I became concerned that they may be closed permanently. I'm not sure I can find out. You'll have to take my word that it's good food with friendly, prompt service. If they are no longer open for business I'm going to miss them!! Went here on Sept 25th and I'm unimpressed. It was just meh The decor of the place is nice but it's not Mexican. The flowers on the wall thing is what I'm used to seeing in Korean and Ramen places. The prices are reasonable for NYC - I agree but there's nothing special about the food to warrant any higher prices. The nachos with guac looked good but most of the chips were soggy. I ordered the chicken special. The salad wasn't fresh. The rice was dry. And the plates was loaded with rice and beans to hide the lack of chicken for a chicken special. My son ordered tacos . There were only 2 tacos per serving. Often times when we go Mexican places it's about 3 tacos per serving but for $8 I won't complain. Wish I had ordered 2 servings (teenaged boy) Would I go back? The first issue is that the prices on their website are deceiving, and significantly lower than what is listed on the menu in the restaurant. We ordered the Nachos and the Chicken Burrito. The Nachos were pretty average, and I wish the toppings were mixed more evenly instead of just being dumped in one spot. Presentation could have been better. I was more disappointed by the Chicken Burrito. While the chicken was tasty, half the burrito was just rice and there was barely any other filling. The size of the burrito was also kind of small, and not worth the price. It felt like they included a 'side salad' - some lettuce with dressing - just for the purpose of taking up space on the plate. Looking for an authentic restaurant with the nicest servers and cleanest bathroom you've seen in nyc?! Order the carne asada! Any way you want it, but order the steak and then make sure your partner gets the chicken enchiladas! You must also get the guac! This is a sit down restaurant that offers authentic Mexican food. Their prices are very generous for being such a place on the Upper East Side. For example, tortas are only around $9.00 and a plate of enchiladas with rice and beans is around $11.00. The food we had was delicious and tasted very fresh. It went great with a bottle of Jarritos. They have three tables of outdoor seating at the moment. Their menu has been pared down compared to other Mexican places, but that is to be expected. They have to sell what caters to the locals. You will not find things like chilaquiles or mole poblano. It is mainly burritos, tacos, meat with rice and beans, and sandwiches. Second time visiting Lolita's Kitchen and the food was just as good as the first time! The first time I visited Lolita's Kitchen I ordered the Chimichurri Steak and it was amazing. This time around, I ordered three carne asada tacos with a Pacifico. I love Pacifico. I have a hard time finding Pacifico in NY so whenever I do find it it's a must order for me. The three carne asada tacos were delicious! The tortillas were soft, the onions were fresh, the carne asada was cooked to perfection, and the avocado sauce was good. My friend and I were looking for somewhere to have a late lunch after visiting the Cooper Hewitt museum, and we came across Lolita's in our research. It was pretty empty and we were allowed to seat ourselves outside. The menu on the website was a bit different than the one we were given, which threw us off. My friend ordered a well done guacamole burger and I got a medium California burger, which both came with a cute metallic basket of fries! The burgers themselves were pretty solid, but I found it interesting that both of our patties were definitely well done. The cutting board that the burger and fries were served on was unique, but I found that it didn't serve its purpose as well as a plate. The service was also not bad, but we were never checked on, and therefore our water wasn't refilled despite it being a hot day outside. read more

The restaurant is not ADA friendly as you need to climb some steps. once inside the eatery is a subdued but, romantic spot with comfortable seating. I ordered a quesadilla.
