    Bland guac $14 Margaritas $14
    L. V.

I'm just baffled at the lack of flavor our food had. Bland is an understatement wow! I've never gone to a "Mexican" restaurant & not enjoy my food. Get this kitchen some spices, seasonings, jalapeños, something, anything. The establishment is small, the table set up could be better. It has nice overall look in the decor also cleanliness was a thumbs up. The staff was pleasant although dry if that makes sense. It seemed like they were understaffed & overwhelmed even though it wasn't busy. It was a much older crowd on a Saturday night which was surprising. They have posted closing time is 9pm. We noticed this place does not cater to Latinos at all, it's impossible. If they did they wouldn't be serving such tasteless food. Also why did I get charged $26.00 for just veggies fajitas (I'm vegan) & my coworker who ordered chicken fajitas was charged the same price. What a rip off. I'm just all around frustrated with this place. I don't care what area you're located in, cook/serve good authentic food & season it up! This BLAND overpriced nonsense is unacceptable, do better. I will never be back.

A little Chicken burrito, whole black beans, I think sour cream.
    Sarah T.

Really disappointed in this meal, not only did I pay $8 dollars for chips and salsa, my burrito had maybe two chunks of chicken in it, couldn't taste any chicken, very little of what they call refried beans, and there was supposed to be sour cream in it. I did leave a tip but $50 is huge no. Take away the two beers it was $30 for a burrito and chips. *Surprised you with my Spanish

8 two-person tables inside and some outdoor seating. One server managed to run it by herself without too much difficulty. Margaritas were good. Prices are decent. Food was well prepared and flavorful.

I guess the burger wasn't awful but it wasn't great either. You could tell that the patty had been frozen and just cooked for the order. All the ingredients just seemed low quality and not too much to show for. The concept is Mexican and burgers and we were craving a burger close by to try this place out. Not crazy to come back and give it another try.

Stopped by this restaurant for some quick bite. It's a pretty authentic Mexican shop with floral decor interiors, perfect for the gram. They also have an outdoor dining area as the indoors doesn't have AC. My gf ordered the Fresh Spinach and Tomato Quesadilla ($8.50), which she enjoyed. What stood out was how crispy the tortilla was on both sides as they usually get soggy due to the cheese. I ordered the Steak Burrito ($11), which was pretty good and filling. Loved how everything tasted together, streak, rice, beans, guac, with minimal amount of cheese holding it together. It's a tad salty and peppery than I would liked.

My main gripe was that the prices on the menu were *significantly* higher than those online and on Yelp above (3 tacos were listed as $11 online, $13.50 on Yelp but were $20+ on the in-person dinner menu, and the same applied across the menu). The food was fine but for that price, I would've expected better flavors / presentation / creativity. We both agreed that a burrito from Chipotle would have done the same (possibly slightly better) job for a lower price. Overall the food was good, with adequate portions. The interior decor is adorable and they played great music. Service was quick and friendly. Though we might return for takeout if the online prices apply, we probably won't return for dine-in.

Nachos Supreme - Steak ($15) Flautas - Chicken ($13) Oaxaca Queso Fundido ($12)
    Ryan H.

Try: Nachos Supreme, Flautas, and Oaxaca Queso Fundido Why: Nachos with steak was great with good amount of guacamole. Chicken Flautas was crunchy and went well with the green sauce, which had a nice kick to it. Fundido was delicious with great flavors from the chorizo, mushroom, jalapenos, onion and mozarella cheese. Overall, it was a solid meal that was filling and affordable. Notes: I forgot to choose which type of Flautas (Chicken or Potato) so they called me within minutes of placing my order online. I thought that was great service. Delivery also came 15 minutes earlier than expected, which was awesome. They have many other items that I'd like to try in the future, like steak, sandwiches, wraps, and burgers.

Enchiladas were standard and seemed freshly made. Very empty for a Friday evening for dinner

Whatever they do to their (red) Sangria is EXACTLY how a Red wine-based Sangria SHOULD taste like.

A quick internet search led me to this tiny little takeaway window. There were a few people waiting around for their orders, but the service was quick, and super friendly. We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

If you are someone who is looking at an aesthetic place, this is a top contender. Unfortunately, I would say this place is better looking than the food is good. The food was fine, appetizers were all fresh but lacked any real depth in flavor. I wasn't too thrilled with the bone marrow I had either (but the tortillas come in the cutest basket). Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.

Decent size Mexican restaurant with some seating in the front and a handful of tables in the back dining room. We started with chips and guac. The guac is large so I understand the price. It was very good. No complaints. The chips could have used more salt though which is always a concern. You'd think Mexican spots would have a tortilla chip down by now. I ordered a steak quesadilla. The steak was tender and had pretty good flavor. I just wish there was more. Especially considering the price. Certainly not a bad quesadilla but the value wasn't quite there. Still, a fine option if you want Mexican food and you are in the area. I'd say the 3.5 rating is pretty spot on.
