This is actually a Lollicup Fresh location. The only thing I get here is papaya milk because it's made with fresh papaya. I've had 2 of my friends try it and they loved it. I also got unsweetened green tea here and it was fine. Definitely recommend if you love papaya milk as well! I came back with a friend during quarantine 6/11/2020 to get brown sugar boba milk, papaya milk, and popcorn chicken. The owner is super friendly and talked about how they make their brown sugar boba drinks and popcorn chicken. I love that everything is fresh! I really hope they stay open. My go to local tea shop. I prefer drinks simple drinks with no frills. My favorite drinks are the green tea and the watermelon juice! Although the juice is advertised as seasonal, I seem to be able to order it year round which is a plus. I've tried most their food dishes and haven't been disappointed yet. For snacks, I'd recommend the green beans, tofu, and tea eggs. For the bowls/meals, I'd recommend the minced pork rice, Taiwanese sausage, and the pork belly rice. Came to the area for some lunch and decided to get some boba in the area. Sis decided she wanted to come here since Lollicup is one of the first og boba places.m, & there's not many where we live. It was about 1:30 when we got there on a Tuesday & wasn't super busy. The shop was clean and abiding by covid standards. Masks, 6 feet apart, no sitting inside. First time getting boba here and I got the Peach Dragonfruit and sis got the White peach green milk tea. The boba itself was actually pretty good. Not too hard, but not squishy in an over cooked way. And had a nice brown sugar taste to it. The Peach dragonfruit was SUPER sweet. It really felt like I was drinking syrup. Beside the sweetness the taste of the dragonfruit was good, but the aftertaste was more peachy and that wasn't as enjoyable as the dragonfruit unfortunately. I was only able to get through a third of it before it becoming toooo sweet for me to drink. The white peach green milk tea was all around weird. I got sweet sauce on the side because they don't stick hot sauce. The fragrance of the chicken could odorize your clothing or car ~ so, I would store away fast. I paired it with grapefruit green tea, no sugar. The meal purchase put me in bonus round by discounting the tea by half (bonus is for regular size only). The taste for the tea was just ok but super refreshing. I made sure this meal only counted for 500 calories: -7 nuggets - entire egg - all the string beans - half the silken tofu - brown stuff topping rice - couple spoons of rice - green tea grapefruit- no sugar At this rate I could eat a whole week with the plate as served. For years I have tried many boba milk tea places looking for a milk tea with very strong tea taste, but disappointedly, to no avail. I was so frustrated that I decided to brew my own. But that was too much work. Miraculously, I found Lollicup. They have a new product called White Peach Milk Tea. It has a very strong tea taste and smell really good, peachy. I'm now a fan unconditionally! I have found my gem. No further searches are needed. Another good thing about Lollicup as opposed to other boba milk tea places is that you can buy just the milk tea without boba. Other places included the cost of the boba in their milk tea and sell them as one. I have driven by this Lollicup for years, but didn't think much of it. So didn't bother trying them out. It was my loss. Go figure! Purchase a food dish (about $7.99) with the drink and get 50% off on the price of the regular size drink. I bought the Rice Noodle ($7.49) with the White Peach Milk Tea with mini boba, large size, 16 oz and got $2 off. The Rice Noodle was very tasty. I will definitely try their other dishes with my next boba milk tea purchase. Services are superb. I have come here about 6 times and each of these times, I ran into different friendly & accommodating cashiers. They even happily re-make my tea when I mistakenly thought they gave me the wrong flavor. I'm impressed with the customer services considered that this is just a fast food place. Besides the cashiers, I give credit to the manager of this place; it is a testament to his or her amazing management skills! You'd never assume this, but surprisingly this joint has the best popcorn chicken in all of Monterey Park / Alhambra. It's just the perfect blend of crispy and moist. I used to come here all the time and work on my laptop for hours on their free wifi, getting tea and refills whenever I felt the itch. I have been coming here for so long. Yes, Lollicup is a chain, but I love this specific boba location because they have such good popcorn chicken-- and they still give you deep-fried basil. Made to order, perfectly seasoned and lightly coated into a crispy, delicious, warm, juicy delight. Because there is a little wait for it and minimal seating, I like to call ahead to put my order in (at least the popcorn chicken, you can order the drinks in person if you are indecisive) and then roll up to pick up everything. The popcorn chicken was on the saltier side but very fresh and chewy, they made it after I ordered so it was hot. The shaved ice allows five different toppings -- super generous for the price and was out in a good sized to-go bowl. The only problem is the noise level: overplayed music from the radio station, students that hang out in groups, and sometimes the employees talking. Also take note of parking, it's 2 hours maximum in the lot so you might have to either park upstairs or along the small street. Drinks -- Matcha milk smoothie: has a slight banana flavor and a bit chalky. 5/10 Milk tea: not bad for price and size of cup. I'd get a topping with it. 7/10 Sea salt green tea: didn't pass for me, especially after having 85's ssgt so 3/10 Sea salt coffee: a little better than the green tea one. it's sea salt cream over black coffee. 4/10 Iced coffee: this is ok and I would get this if I'm not feeling the milk tea 6.5/10 Food -- String beans: the snack fried ones aren't as good as the cooked ones that come in the entrees (but they don't always serve in with the entrees. sometimes it's just assorted veggies in the entrees) Popcorn chicken: comes with a sweet chili sauce which is sweet and tangy. This place is pretty spacious and welcoming. There's also plenty of parking in the garage and on the street. In the cafe, they advertise lots of deals beyond the menu, and there's free wifi here! Lots of options when you eat here! I got to use my LivingSocial voucher here (where I paid $5 for $10 to spend), so I got a passion fruit black tea with boba and my boyfriend got the barley milk tea with jelly. Both were good. The barley milk tea uses real barley, unlike other boba places that use powder, so here, you can taste the ground barley seeds. We also got the fried combo, which included fried fish cakes, squid balls, and salt and pepper chicken, for about $4.25. While the staff were friendly and the food/drinks came within 5 minutes, the girl assumed I wanted a large drink after my boyfriend ordered a large as well. It's just a 70 cent difference, but I wanted regular and they shouldn't have assumed that we both wanted the same sized drinks; I would've appreciated if she asked/confirmed the size with me. It was after we got the drinks that I noticed my boyfriend and my drinks were the same size. so much sugar, especially for my drink!! :O oh well. Overall, really great lollicup location. Wow, did not know they had beef noodle stew here so I decided to be adventurous and take a risk even though they are known for drinks. The beef was actually good, not tough, had little fat in some parts, and was plentiful. The soup was also good surprisingly tasted legit like Taiwanese broth. Taro smoothie with boba is one of the best available. I do like strawberry but have yet to try the strawberry smoothie from this place. I do remember ordering something else like mango smoothie or was it a slushie? I didn't like how the mango tasted but it is not Lollicup 's fault. I am just not used to the taste of the ripe mango here in the United States. I would normally request multiple add-ons like red beans, flan or custard (not sure if they have that), but opted out this time. Same is true every time I want a strawberry smoothie but from places. When it comes to popcorn chicken, as I remember it way back then, pretty much the same taste as other similar places that offers popcorn chicken. The place is clean. It's one of those "modern" cafe that plays modern music in the background. The staff is friendly. The parking is street curbside as well as inside the parking structure of the plaza. I like coming to this place because it is a nice little place to relax. A lot of people come here to study/ hangout, but the parking at this plaza is somewhat difficult to find. I hate parking at the upper lot because the spaces are super small. They have free Wi-Fi at this location, but I had a hard time connecting. I came here to use the deal I got with LivingSocial. Since I go to Diamond Jamboree's Lollicup in Irvine so much more often than this one, I automatically compare the two. The place was packed around 10 PM on a Friday night, and there were a bunch of people crowding around the register/front door. The menu was pretty basic, but they didn't have the drinks that I usually order at Irvine. (But after reading some reviews from Yelp, I saw that they had the Royal Milk Tea Slush? Maybe I didn't see it, but I usually get that in a snow at Irvine.) Anyway, I ordered a regular boba milk tea, almond milk tea with boba and pudding (had to pay an extra dollar for both items) and a strawberry yogurt snow with boba ... and popcorn chicken. The boba milk tea was decent. Not too bad, and the boba was chewy enough. I liked the almond milk tea as well. It had a strong almond flavor. I felt that the pudding and the boba given were very little especially since I paid full price for both of the add-ins. The strawberry yogurt snow was okay. It was too sweet and reminded me of those strawberry cookies found in the Asian supermarkets. The popcorn chicken was all right. If I didn't have the LivingSocial deal, I probably would have considered the drinks to be too expensive for my liking, especially for the quality of the drinks. read more
