I have heard so much about this place over the past year that I had to try it for myself. I get it! It was delicious! Service was wonderful! I asked for a chef tasting of non-spicy options (the Arai Kodai. Mine came to $67 as I wanted extra tastings). Isaiah asked my preferences then went to town! His dance moves while he entered my order were a great touch! The aroma inside is exquisite! Everything around me looked so fresh! I loved seeing all the food around me. I see why everyone loves the green mango salad (yam mamuang boran). Delicious! So flavorful! Just know not to expect lettuce. The fried chicken was tasty but I wished I had asked for not fried options. That's on me. It was certainly good. Very crispy and flavorful. Next time I would just prefer something more unique than wings. The bok choy with garlic (pad pak twang toong) is so good! Very light and tasty. I asked for a side of white rice to enjoy it with. I ended with Naem Khao Tawt. It was again flavorful and zesty. I would have avoided more crispy and pork with this one but again that's on me. It was still tasty. Next time I would ask for more grilled options and something with beef and noodles. The scallops and buffalo tartare sounded fantastic! Would definitely want those in the future! They were out of buffalo tonight. The dueling brule dessert was so good? I'm particular the purple one! So tart! Really wonderful experience and made new friends while here. Parking is a bit of a nuisance, but after 15 minutes I got lucky and snagged a street spot close by out front. Otherwise, it's either street parking, meter parking or nearby garages. Will definitely be back to try more dishes.

This is a hip restaurant near Roosevelt row that we have seen highlighted on Check Please Arizona and nominated for a James Beard award. We parked right around the corner on 2nd street which has a super cool 3-story office building made out of shipping containers. Neighboring buildings have painted murals. Service was prompt, attentive and polite. Dishes are served and are intended to be shared. We ordered: NAW TAWT fried bamboo, Thai basil, spicy & savory crushed peanut nam jim dipping sauce -which is quite large and monotonous for two people. For 4-6 people it's worth a try but this is to much fried bamboo for two people. PAD KWANG TOON stir-fried bok choy, tofu, garlic, Thai chili- a mild dish. KAENG PHET FAK TAWNG hand-pounded curry paste, hand-squeezed coconut milk, kabocha squash, bamboo shoots, makheua eggplant, Thai basil- delicious with a bit of spice just shy of medium. YAM SAI BAI seaweed salad, hand-pounded curry paste, crispy anchovies, toasted coconut, makrut lime leaf, shallot, green mango- delicious and assertive and again to much for just 2 people. We took more than half home. We also ordered the madame madame cocktail which was slightly tart and delicious. Give this restaurant a try.

We had heard great things about this place and they are part of the Chase reserve Sapphire dining program so we decided we would have our celebration of our 25th anniversary here for dinner They actually had sent an email letting us know parking is pretty tight in the area so we decided to just rideshare here, it's a lot easier. They will open the front gate right at 5 PM on the nose, we had a 5 PM reservation. There was already a line forming for those arrivals. We had booked bar seating in the back room, which is a bit smaller than the front dining area, but cozy Carly was our server/bartender and she was extremely friendly and explained how everything worked. The menu was split into three portions, North, South and collaborations. They'll explain every addition detail to you if you like. As many had mentioned how good the mango salad is, we pretty much had to order that. I didn't realize it would have nice chunks of shrimp in it, that was a fantastic surprise. We also ordered the crab curry, and that was both of our favorite dishes.- it is served with a big bowl of sticky rice, Yum! The other dish we ordered was a noodle with pork, and those noodles were so creatively tasty. Very good. They don't have a set wine list, they have a QR code on the menu since their wines changed so often but most glasses were $15-$17 each they had a nice Sauvignon Blanc and my husband went for the Thai beer Lovely experience!

I wish I hadn't eaten dinner before coming here!!! Service was great. Savannah was behind the bar and she was wonderful. I just had the sahai Su ra and you can tell there's something very savory about it. Maybe it's the tom yum or fish sauce haha but it's so good and also spicy. All the flavors just work so well in this cocktail. Then I ordered the dual cream brûlée. Lemongrass and coconut and then a savory hibiscus. Personally I would have loved more lemongrass flavor but everything was so delicious. Def come by back for food and more cocktails!

First time here, great experience! The staff were really attentive and welcoming. Great ambiance and decor on the inside. We ordered 8 dishes and the food came out super fast within 15-20 minutes while the entire restaurant was full! All the dishes were great! These dishes are great for sharing like family style. 1) NAW TAWT : fried bamboo, love this dish, crispy and flavorful with the sauce. 2) YAM MAMUANG BORAN : Mango salad, I love that the mango was refreshing and Not sour at all. Some other Thai places I've tried, the mango is usually a bit sour because they're still raw. 3) NAEM KHAO TAWT : crispy rice with cured sausage : my favorite dish! Love the savory seasoning of the crispy rice and the raw sausage 4) TOM KHA GAI: chicken soup. Great taste! Love the broth. 5) BAMEE MU DANG: egg noodles with char siu, great dish for what it is but I wouldn't go out of my way for this dish. 6) BA BUEY KHLAK TI: crispy pork belly with curry. Love the pork belly and with crispy skin! Love the curry too but it was a little too salty, you have to eat this with rice. 7) TOM YUM HAENG SEN YAI: stir fry noodle: love the tom yum flavor, my favorite dish as well! 8) HOI SHAE NAM PLA: scallop, love this dish! Refreshing, great seasoning combo, scallop was fresh and soft

You've ruined me, Lom Wong! best Thai food I've ever had stateside...and in AZ?! I can see why they are James Beard award winners. This is a must-visit if you're in town. It's a in bit of random spot in town with not a lot of things around it except a hotel and hella Lime scooters - I arrived early before my 5pm reservation and was hoping to kill some time but oh well! Onto the food & menu: As the servers will explain to you - the menu is set up in the chef's hometowns/adopted towns, Indigenous thai folks then a final section of their riffs. You won't find pad see ew, pad thai or any standard curries...only in trippy ways that break your brain like: * in a cocktail: the panang bang bang which drinks like a spicy dirty martini that's unmistakably panang. So good. *in a dessert: in their Tom Kha creme brûlée which nails the savory and sweet with the classic lemongrass, galangal&makrut with coconut combo. The bamee mu dang (egg noodles with char siu, minced pork, bok choy, crispy wonton, beansprouts, house sauce) was a ratatouille moment for me & I can't stop thinking about it. I also marveled at the GAI TAWT WON PEN (Won Pen's fried chicken) - sooo crispy! I had leftovers the next day in the air fryer and it was still stunning. I also keep thinking about the bay scallop crudo - I seriously don't want crudo in ANY other way (HOI SHAE NAM PLA - scallop crudo in lime, chili, and fish sauce nam jim with garlic slices and mint). Sooo flavorful and umami. I need to figure out the recipe for this! Nothing was too spicy for me but I didn't ask for any extra heat. Please open in Michigan, Lom Wong! We need this type of regional thai cuisine done so beautifully!

Lom Wong just delivered one of my favorite dinners in recent times. Our group of six chose reserved a patio table for their Arai Kodai meal, which meant the kitchen would serve us their recommended plates -- and it truly was the best way to enjoy the restaurant! We started with the creamy, coconut-infused Yam Mamuang Boran (green mango salad), and food came FAST from there. Some standouts for me included: - Ba Mee Moo Dang (BBQ pork egg noodles) - Pla Rad Prik Sam Rot (fried branzino) - Tom Kha Gai (coconut chicken soup) - Tom Yum Haeng Sen Yai (wide rice noodles) All of these had a beautiful balance of acidity, savoriness, spice, and herbs in one dish with tender meat. But everything together really hit well. For example, the bok choy was a light break between super savory curries and fried wings (HUGE fan of the marinade on these). I also enjoyed getting to share dishes I wouldn't normally order a la carte, like the Naw Tawt (fried bamboo). The staff members made sure to ask about allergies and spice tolerances and thoroughly explained each dish as it was served. We actually ended up paying slightly less than the estimated $55/person for 12 dishes (before drinks) -- and we realized we got an extra serving of the chicken wings at no charge. Arai Kodai is truly a phenomenal way to experience more of the best dishes on the menu! We were stuffed, and I would gladly return.

I happened upon this enchanting venue while motoring to dinner this evening, and the approach was nothing short of spectacular. The exterior was so beautifully enveloped in lush, vibrant greenery that I initially mistook the property for an exclusive private park. It was a thoroughly satisfying and magnificent first impression. Upon crossing the threshold, I discovered an incredibly sophisticated interior architecture. The establishment features a beautifully appointed mini bar and absolutely marvelous seating arrangements that I found entirely pleasing. I escorted myself to an excellent seat at the counter, where it became delightfully apparent that this sanctuary is a refined Asian Thai restaurant. I must confess, I am occasionally conservative regarding casual dining concepts, but the sheer caliber of the decor and the impeccable service completely surpassed my expectations. It is truly impressive. While engaging in a brief, lovely conversation with the bartender who was an absolute credit to the establishment I requested a crisp Lychee beverage for my refreshment. For my entrée, I selected the traditional Thai-style Gai Tawt Won Pen. The kitchen executed the order with commendable precision, presenting the dish to my table within a swift ten minutes. The culinary execution was a complete triumph remarkably fresh, perfectly prepared, and thoroughly satisfying. What a magnificent discovery to lead my evening. I am entirely enamored with this delightful sanctuary and shall most certainly make a point to return in the very near future

The food was so delicious and they had a banana solit! Service was good and quick. The food was very aggressive. The flavors and style were hard. The curry was good but the meat tasted as if it was in actual Thailand. Had very high expectations given the awards, but unfortunately felt short of those expectations

My wife and I have been wanting to try this place for some time now. We finally went this Sunday with another couple for the first time. Service here was amazing and the space has a great vibe that transports you to the other side of the world. Cocktails were great but it was the food that really stood out. We tried everything family style and our table of 4 got seven dishes. Everything was delicious and amazing. However there were several stars that everyone couldn't stop talking about. First the green mango salad was so delicious and a great way to kick off dinner. However everyone's favorite dish was the BA BUEY KHLAK TI - pork belly curry. That curry was to die for and I could drink it straight out of the bowl. My other favorite was the crab curry. Parking can be hard to find so we just parked in the pay lot behind the restaurant for $30 for 3 hours. I can't recommend this place enough. It's. A chance to try traditional Thai food that will blow your mind. I can't wait to go back!

Lom Wong is super cute and looks like a restaurant you could find in SF or NYC which I love. The hose was super friendly and explained the menu - it's in 3 sections indicative of different types of Thai cuisine. I ordered the madame Madame cocktail that had vodka, lemongrass, lychee and soda. It had good flavors and was refreshing. My husband is a vegetarian so we ordered the following Section 1-NAW TAWT-fried bamboo. This was really good with a hint of spice but a lot for 2 people. We took some home and it held up great and crisped right back up in air fryer. Section 2-PAD KWANG TOON-stir-fried bok choy and tofu. This was so so. Not overly flavorful. Section 2-KAENG PHET FAK TAWNG-squash and eggplant curry. This had good flavor. Section 3-YAM SAI BAI-seaweed salad. I wouldn't have ordered this but my husband wanted to try it. It was amazing. The best thing we had. Really good flavors. Again a bit much for 2 people so we took it home and had some the next day. Also held up well. It's definitely worth checking out but make sure you make reservations. It's small and popular!

Came here because I kept hearing locals hype this place up, and I will say the space itself is really cute with a fun story behind it and a super interesting menu. The decor is beautiful and the whole vibe feels very intentional. Service was also really good. Everyone was friendly and attentive, which made the experience better. For the food though, it was just okay to me. The curry was decent, but I wish it was thicker and had more depth of flavor. The crispy rice was way too salty for my taste and kind of overwhelming. I was also excited for the mango salad, thinking it would be like a papaya salad, but it was more like a seaweed salad with some mango, which threw me off a bit. I also ended with the ice cream sunday which was pretty good but i didnt taste the fish sauce. Overall, I can see why people like it, and it's definitely a nice place to check out, but for me the food didn't fully live up to the hype and felt a little mid.

Are there entree options that not spicy?

Theirs is not overly spicy curry; it's actually pretty mild.

Are there gluten free options for people with celiac disease?

    Yes, there are many.

How busy does it get at 5-6pm on a Saturday?

Busyc but if you walk in at 5 on the dot we can usually seat you. If you want to be sure make a reservation.

What is the likelihood of being able to walk in on a Sunday night without a reservation?

It’s usually easy at 5PM. The dining room gets filled up, but bar and outside (misters) is easy this time of year. If you’re a party of 5 or more, reservations are highly recommended if you want to sit inside.

What should we wear? We are planning on being around town before hand, but don't want to offend wearing shorts if that is frowned upon.

Very casual space. I wouldn't worry about the dress code. The serving staff doesn't :)

Hello! Is the fried chicken dish gluten free?

    It contains gluten.

    Which dishes are dairy free?

All of them except Boo Pad Pong Garee and Crème Brûlée

Hello! I made a reservation for 1- is the $15 reservation fee refunded when I dine?

    Yes!

Do you have any vegetarian options?

Yes, there are non meat dishes.

Do they have vegetarian/vegan options on the menu?

Hi Madhumita, we have one fully vegan dish, hed neung: steamed oyster mushrooms with toasted galangal dipping paste. As fish sauce and shrimp paste are essential ingredients in the cuisines of Thailand and we strive to remain sincere to the recipes… Read more

The venue offers the most delightful arrangements; one may choose to dine within the main room or enjoy a seat adjacent to the exquisite flower beds and lush, cool greenery. There is also a beautifully structured small bar. The entire aesthetic is nothing short of exceptional, and I found myself quite enamored with the decor. I escorted myself to an excellent table facing the bar and requested a traditional Thai Iced Tea to begin. The bartender was an absolute credit to the establishment immensely warm, professional, and genuinely friendly. The hospitality here is truly remarkable; the staff handles their patrons with the gracious care of family, which I found immensely pleasing. For my dinner entrée, I selected the Kanom Jeeb, which bears a marvelous resemblance to the finest dim sum found in elite Chinese establishments. The kitchen executed the order with commendable timing, and upon its elegant presentation, my evening meal was rendered entirely complete. The seamless blend of sophisticated flavor, beautiful botany, and refined hospitality was an absolute treat. I shall most certainly be returning to this charming sanctuary in the near future

As a proud Yelp Elite, I decided to give this place a chance because the reviews were the best I saw in the city! The place was busy on a Sunday night and it is small but I never say customers waiting too long. There were two larger parties seated so the food took some time but nothing outrageous. We started with the calamari, spring rolls, and crab wontons. The calamari were the biggest I've ever seen and very delicious! Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the spring rolls or crab wontons. I feel like those are hard to get wrong but I was not a fan of the cream cheese that was used and it was a lot of it, barely any imitation crab. For entrees, I had the spicy basil and substituted ground chicken for chicken breast, my personal preference. I ordered level 2 spice but it was still a bit spicy for me. Trying a new Thai place is always hit or miss with spice levels so I actually thought I was being safe with 2. Additionally, the chicken was so bland. Some Thai places season their chicken, some do not and unfortunately Pad Thai Cafe missed that mark. My partner ordered the short rib curry dish and my goodness, it smelled like heaven and tasted just as good. I don't eat beef but had to taste it and it was divine! He also ordered spice level 2 and his dish was not as spicy as mine. Overall, the rest of the party enjoyed their food and there were good flavors there so I'd definitely recommend the entrees, not so much the starters.

A simple order of pad thai and spring rolls took exactly 42 minutes. After several follow-ups, no one told me the food was ready until I walked up to the counter myself. Overall, a frustrating experience, and I would not recommend it with other Thai restaurant options nearby.
