This is an old style basic Italian dive. Nothing amazing but solid and familiar. Not too pricey and good service.

Always delicious here! The fettuccine Alfredo is my favorite and the bread they serve before the meal is always warm and delicious

Linguini and Clams, Spaghetti Carbonara, Chicken Piccata Plate with Spaghetti Alfredo

Finally found an Italian restaurant that reminds me of my favorite place in New Jersey. I feel like East Coast Italian just hits different. Their carbonara is really a pink sauce but is my FAVORITE dish. We also got their clams in white sauce with linguine and the clams tastes very fresh and the brothy sauce was delicious! Their alfredo sauce was a huge hit with my kids and their chicken piccata was super yummy. I also order their calamari and it's really tasty as well. It is a little on the expensive side (of course I'm comparing it to the super cheap calamari at Quality Seafood lol) but the marinara they serve with it is great! Even if you order take out (I've actually only ever gotten take out), the noodles are the perfect texture and the food is PIPING HOT! So happy I discovered this place!

    Capellini Special

Searching for a place to cater an event and was told about this place. Small restaurant in a strip mall next door to massage parlor. We ordered two meals and I also asked to taste the pasta marinara as an option to cater. We were served bread and an olive oil & herb dip. I ordered Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken and my friend ordered the Capellini Special. They were both good. Hers was excellent. The Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken was somewhat boring. It needed either spinach or basil or something to add color contrast. The pic shows it all. There was a lot of chicken, which was impressive. Fresh parmesan cheese would have been nice as well. We requested separate checks and had to remind the server and our orders were mixed up. Gulp!! We also got some wrong information on catering, which was unfortunate. I would definitely will return but will not be using them for my event. Ok, bye

Chopped Italian Salad and cheesy garlic bread

We had a very good meal of Shrimp Scampi and Carbonara with an order of cheesy garlic bread and split a chopped Italian salad. The service was great and the ambience is decent but nothing special.

    Spaghetti and meatballs

Early New Years Eve, I ordered spaghetti and meatballs delivered. They answered the phone even on a busy night and let me know the meatballs are all beef. It arrived piping hot, loaded with delicious meatballs. The sauce is on the sweet side, just the way I like it. I wish they had included the utensils I requested and maybe a red pepper packet. All in all, a home run. UPDATE: Ordered again, and they delivered again. Just perfect. Great food, delivered piping hot.

I got a large Caesar salad and the beef lasagna. Both were really good. The salad was very fresh. The lasagna was balanced. Service was friendly and fast.

The food is absolutely the best. Loved the food, calamari and the bread. Worth the visit. Now we have a new place to enjoy

    Online order. Via Uber eats

After dinner I was really craving for tiramisu today. Checked rating here at yelp - looks good! Ordered 2pc via uber eats - there were 2 tiny pieces, moreover horrible tasteless frozen pieces of something, cannot even call it tiramisu. Very disappointed this is a crime to sell, or give even for free anything like that! Never ever again

UPDATE! We came…read moreback about a month later to celebrate Hubbers' birthday, but the experience wasn't the same. I'm guessing since they're coming to a permanent closure, it only makes sense that the quality of the experience (food and service) had began to going down. We were seated immediately, so we were off to a good start. It took a bit of time for Daniel (yep! We got the same server from the last time) to come around and get our orders. It wasn't too bad since the wait gave us the opp to decide on apps and mains, so we got to put all our orders in at once. CALAMARI: Battered thin and crispy. Dash of lemon juice made it better. Quality? Yes. Quantity? Not so much. I thought it was pricey for the amount we got. PEPPERCORN POLPETTINE: Meatballs in cream sauce. Even with the whole peppercorns, the sauce was good. The meatballs, however, didn't taste or look homemade at all. (I recently made frozen meatball soup at home and the meatball's flavor was pretty much similar.) So.. meh... BRUSCHETTA ALLA CHECCA: This was the best app out of the three. Crostini was perfect and the toppings were all perfectly balanced. SPAGHETTI AI NERO DI SEPPIA: Looked great, but lacked flavor. Asked for fresh grated cheese and added black pepper which helped a little, but still missing something... Hubbers got the linguine pesca mare which he loved (he emptied his plate!) So I guess that says a lot. And I'm really glad he liked it, being his birthday and all. He also chose crème brûlée to finish off his birthday treat. (No, they didn't comp it - which is fine, and I don't expect them - or any business - to, even more since they are shutting down. I understand they need all the profit they can get.) Overall a little less stellar than the first visit. I'll admit I was a teenee bit disappointed since we had an amazing experience the first time. All the same, I'm still glad of the experience and wish them well on their future endeavors!

The food was fresh, delicious, and very reasonably priced for the quality. We were especially impressed with how much we got for the price. Cheese or a place where the waiter judges your shoes. We had a great waiter- dry, professional, and actually helpful when I was dithering between a few dishes. My kind of service. The food was outstanding, starting with the thick, focaccia-style bread, which could probably ruin your appetite if you weren't careful. Fortunately, I was careful. The eggplant parm was exactly what eggplant parm should be: crisp, flavorful, and decidedly not soggy. Because nobody has ever said, "You know what this eggplant needs? More moisture." I had a pesto corkscrew pasta dish whose actual name I neglected to write down because apparently I've reached the limits of my restaurant-reviewing professionalism. Excellent nonetheless. All accompanied by an Aperol Spritz, because hydration is important. It's also only a couple of blocks off Catalina Ave., close enough to the action without being swallowed by it. Bettolino has become my go-to Italian in the South Bay. I've never been disappointed here, and I have considerable experience being disappointed. Cheers!

We parked at one of the parking lots and strolled through the little village area with little shops lined on the sides. I felt a bit weirded out because it was so quiet over here. It felt like there was no one around!!! The stores too were closed I believe and it was about 6pm in the evening. Anyways, once we walked up the steps through the string-lit patio and walked inside, we were surprised at how loud and lively it was inside!!! Definitely different from what it seemed like outside. There was a man playing the piano and singing live, and there was a lot of people relaxed and eating from their seats. We were lucky with an open table so we had no wait and the whole vibe of the place felt very classy and elegant. Big smiles from our waiter, who also was very kind in celebrating our special night. He gave a lot of helpful info on what type of wine we would like to drink and poured our glasses. His service was extremely top notch. The food too was amazing!!! The Braciola di Maiale Tomahawk (essentially a porkchop plate) came with potato, tomatoes and balsamic sauce. One of the main reasons/things I was excited for was the Calamari fritti, which had a spicy tomato sauce on the side but it wasn't too bad. I absolutely loved it!!! It was flavorful, crispy, and with plenty of squid meat. I couldn't get enough! Our server also managed all of his tables expertly and combined with the voice of the guy singing romantic songs, it was a wonderful experience. 10/10 We both agree that we'd love to bring a group of friends here one day!!! Bad, that you can hear the conversations around you & good because it's easy to chat with a fellow patron, if you want to ask what they're having. The food is divine! This is my favorite date night or celebration restaurant. I don't think I've ever had something there that I didn't love! The antipasti I've had so far: Pollettine, Carpaccio di Manzo, Calamari Fritti, Gnocchi Alla Romana, & the Cozze in Brodo. The Cozze & the Gnocchi are my favorites. The insalatas they have are also yummy, but I've only had a few of them. The Insalata Caprese & the Insalata di Pere E Burrata. The Pere Burrata is my favorite of the two. I haven't tried the Primi or Pizza on their menu. I have eaten many of the Secondi: Apollo Alla Parmigiana, Saltimbocca Alla Romana, Filetto di Manzo, Ossobucco Di Agnello, the Branzino con Carciofi, and the Braciola Di Maiale Tomahawk. My hands down favorite is the Tomahawk. On our most recent visit, my husband and I shared the Tomahawk. As for dessert, I've only tried the Tiramisu & the Chocolate Terrine. I prefer the Chocolate Terrine. The Tiramisu is good, but I think they use too much cocoa on top. I have had it & requested a very light dusting of the cocoa, and it was much better that way, in my opinion. The service is excellent! The servers are always friendly & give excellent insight on their favorite dishes & any specials they are currently offering.

Ordered the soup of the day which was a delicious vegetable minestrone. Also, ordered a build your own pasta dish. Started by getting a recommendation from our very helpful & polite server (he was working solo) about their long list of available sauces. We started with the Garlic Butter. (He also was very big on their Pink sauce) Paired it with Fettuccini noodles and perfectly sautéed shrimp. Over or Undercooked shrimp is gross. Ours was perfect. . Another winner (and great leftovers). When we got the bill I noticed the soup was billed for $7.50 vs $6. I asked the waiter about the discrepancy and he said something about a bowl vs a cup that usually comes with the special. I was a little confused as none of that was mentioned when ordering but I accepted it . Without me asking he brought back a new charge slip with the $6. Very nice of him By the time we left two more parties of two arrived. Both with an adult and child. I don't know enough about the Hermosa Beach Monday lunch scene but I'm surprised this spot doesn't have more customers. I'm glad we stopped by and will try to get back for dinner. One more plus (for me). I love old school r&b music and enjoyed all the great tunes!
