    Pozole
    Jasmyne V.

Seems like a cool spot to drink and watch the game....hmm to have a meal though? I don't think so.. At my table we ordered a bowl of red pozole and asada tacos. The taco plate came out as nachos because the girl messed up the order. & the nachos were not that good. The pozole was a scavenger hunt. I had to fish around a giant bowl of broth to find any meat or hominy. On top of that they put cabbage on top and not on the side which was odd because when it got to me it was already like hot n soggy...I'd prefer it on the side so I can add it when I'm ready. Even though the waitress messed up the order we had to politely let her know that we'd only pay for what we ordered. She was offering to do that and a complimentary beer. The bill came out correct but we never saw that beer. She was too busy flirting with the guy in the booth next to us. The beer was good. I'd pass on this spot for food but maybe drop in for a game or something.

Fish and chips with one piece of fish missing because I ate it!

The service by our server is great, the kitchen on the other hand is very DISAPPOINTING today. SECOND TIME we've been disappointed in a row. Last time we got REHEATED FISH. This time, Everything I've asked for is NOT AVAILABLE. Like, wtf!?! This place was once one of my favorites in Monrovia, as of late, not anymore! I asked for Angry Orchard, it's not cold, so basically not available. We asked for clam chowder, not on the menu anymore. Asked for street dogs, NONE. Asked for taquitos, there was no cheese. Basically they changed their menu and many favorites were removed from the menu. Luckily I was still able to get my bacon wrapped dates, but they are NOT on the menu anymore. Also thankful that they were able to provide the celery salad. As I mentioned before, our waitress LEELEE was very kind and helpful but it really sucks for her when she has to KEEP DISAPPOINTING her customers. I honestly felt bad for her because hated having to tell us that FOOD WAS NOT AVAILABLE. As for the ambience, it was too damned loud with screaming clients yelling at the tv. I get it that the game is exciting, but when my ears hurt because they're screaming almost in my ears, that's just not pleasant. Generally, the atmosphere is good, but these last few visits have been very disappointing. At least the food that I was able to get this time, was tasty. But the changes are not better. It also seems like the staff has changed, and I really liked the previous staff.

Good service. The waitresses were so nice. I so enjoyed my drinks and fish and chips. The brownie and churro plate was amazing! The layout is nice, but why do they put the music full blast? People go to restaurants to eat and have conversations.

I've been to this place dozens of times but have to give a shoutout to this bartender. Loan wolf and on a Tuesday. This place has some great bartenders but that was impressive to watch. I was drinking quickly and still never waited somehow. Almost 40 clients and a lone bartender owned it. I believe her name was Teri. I would have asked again but she was running. Was really impressed

Blueberry Lemon Sour Martini, my first.

Dropped in for a few drinks and we made the right choice after careful observation from other bars/food. I couldn't decide on brews. I ordered a Sour Lemon Drop Martini. It was made delicious & presented/garnished with exceptional care. The second one was sloppy, I should have ordered from the first bartender. Maui Pineapple beer was enjoyed. After 1/2 hour of eyeballing orders of food go past us, we decided on Fish & Chips, & Shrimp Tacos. The cook in the back had it going to our taste. Everything was cooked to perfection and presentation was perfect Overall we made it a good time but it was easy because the bar was clean, smelled good, and our bartender/waitress was on par on such a busy Sunday! Free parking easy & assessable, even if you walk 1/2 block.

Whenever we are craving fish and chips we always come to this place. Their fish is flakey and their fries are lightly seasoned letting the fish shine through. We also love their chicken sandwich that has a hint of spice. We loved it paired with smoked bacon on their toasted sourdough bread...oh so good. It was Taco Tuesday so we tried their queso taco with carne asada which was pretty good. We so tried their special menu beef steak salad which was decently priced at $18. Their service is pretty good and definitely has a pub like atmosphere. Give them a try if you are in old town Monrovia. Eat there and go for a little stroll afterwards.

Well in my personal opinion, I've had the food here and it wasn't disappointing. ( you get what you get.) but what I'm REALLY Disappointed in is that the Jukebox being blocked by some kind filter. You are very limited on playing music. This needs to change! Music at all genres available at all times. Get it done!!!

Date night always hits the spot at this place Thank you Olivia for your friendly and amazing service :) their new seasonal watermelon shhhwheat is delicious and so was the watermelon margarita (sugar rimmed ):)

Just wondering. What kind of "London" pub doesn't serve English food? Shepherds pie? Bangers and Mash? English breakfast? Bread pudding?

I 100% agree. The only thing they serve, UK related, is fish and chips, which is very good. My friend is from Glasgow and says loves their take. Also, they'll sometimes bring in a UK dish during St. Patrick's day.

We sat at a table by the front window facing the main drag. The area definitely has an old town feel with many restaurants and shops up and down the street. There is also a park right across the street. There is plenty of parking around the corner on the street and in a nearby lot. I started out with the Coughlin's Law cocktail (Aviation gin, house infused vanilla syrup, fresh lemon, egg white, lavender bitters, $16). It was a good light drink with light vanilla and lemon flavor. I always love a good foam top too. She started out with a Basil Paloma (Herradura silver tequila, muddled basil & grapefruit, fresh grapefruit juice, lime, simple syrup, seltzer, $15). It had good grapefruit and basil flavor, and was nicely balanced. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower appetizer ($14). The cauliflower was supposed to be grilled, but it seemed almost raw. The buffalo sauce definitely had a good kick. For my entrée, I had the Black Angus Basin Burger (manchego cheese, carmelized onions, arugula, special sauce, brioche bun, $19). The burger was excellent. The cheese, carmelized onions, and arugula was a great flavor combo. The fries were good, but I'd order them more crispy next time. She had the two taco plate with fish and potato tacos ($15). The taco shells were freshly fried, and it was a filling plate that she enjoyed. We had one more round of drinks and I had the Billionaire cocktail (Old Forrester 100 proof bourbon, lemon, house made grenadine, absinthe, $16). This was excellent. It was very balanced, and not boozy at all with a very light sweetness. Her second was the Smoke and Fire (Peloton de la Muerte mezcal, Ancho Reyes liqueur, muddled jalapeno & orange, fresh lime, agave, chili salt, $15). It was pretty well balanced with a medium smokiness. It definitely had a kick of heat on the finish. Our server Lakyn was friendly and provided good service. The menu prices are cash prices. There is an extra 3.5% surcharge if you pay with a credit card. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was mostly a miss, but everything else was very good so I'm rounding up to five stars. They have a very good sized cocktail and food menu, as well as many beers on tap. They also have happy hour specials. We would definitely return if we were in the area again.

I ordered crisp pork belly tacos which was quite interesting. I never had crispy/crunchy meat in a taco before which was different haha. The flavor was good although the meat was quite chewy and hard. The chips and dips were good and the veggies and sauce on the tacos were great as well! I believe if I have chosen another protein, I would have enjoyed the tacos more. My friend ordered a salad and she really enjoyed her meal. I would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area :)

The portions are generous, the food is consistently great, and it's a really easy place to bring family and kids. Definitely a neighborhood favorite! One thing to note: it can get pretty loud inside when it's busy, mostly due to the acoustics of the room. Service was exceptionally friendly and generally attentive, though it was a bit of a drag getting my bill settled as the lone server kept getting distracted by other tables and customers. Well, I got the State burger with no pickles and no thousand island sauce. I added bacon for $2.00 and swapped out the potato chips for fries for $1.50. It's happy hour all day until dinner, so the burger was discounted from $16 to $12, which is a good deal. The burger tasted great. The fries were good. The freshness of the lettuce and tomato on the burger actually stood out. I never realized how often you get slightly wilting lettuce at other places until I bit into this super fresh, crisp lettuce. I know that's a weird thing to mention, but it stood out. The only complaint I actually had was the amount of meat used in the burger patty. I think it's very small. They also sell a double smash burger, and I almost felt like this was a smash burger, cause the patty is so thin. It's not, but it's a disappointingly small amount of meat. Still, if you want drinks, it's a lovely looking bar. As I said, service is great. And I will come back for the burger. It's good and cheap, though I would gladly pay five dollars more for more meat. This time the burger was all I tried, but I can recommend. Give it a try for their all afternoon happy hour and the drinks.

I had the following for dinner: For an appetizer, I had the spiced meatballs. They were absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and had an amazing sauce. I also got to try the calamari, which was equally as incredible. For the entree, I had the bacon wrapped filet. Again, cooked to perfection and the taste was wonderful. The side was definitely not quite right. I got the garlic mashed potatoes. They were the most plain potatoes I have ever had. No garlic, no salt, no seasoning. I think they might have accidentally missed the seasoning. For dessert, I tried the bread pudding. It was good; however, I was expecting more from the dessert. Our server was on the face very nice; however, he also was very robotic in his responses.
