Came here with wifey after a day of errands. Blues session was scheduled for 5pm so we were lucky to hear some good music for a bit. Service was definitely slow. Not sure if the event impacted the system but it seems like it wasn't due to a lack of personnel. Kenny Cobb Salad was okay. Not enough dressing. The fish and chips were very good. Not overly battered and greasy. Coffee got cold quickly, and no refill offered. Crème brûlée was the winner even though wifey noted no whipped cream and no raspberry. Over mid level experience, but worth stopping by the menu has plenty of options so maybe it was just a down day.

The last time I came out to Matt Denny's was about 9 years ago. This recent visit was to celebrate our daughter's achievement. We arrived about mid-morning, were seated promptly and overall had great service and were well taken care of. Matt Denny's menu is comprised of bar food: appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, salads and more. Overall the food was good - my only regret were my daughter's potato skins that came out a rather over-cooked and *almost* seemed to be a day old my by estimate. She ate them and seemed to enjoy them, my sentiments differed. The fish n chips were good! Everyone else appeared to enjoy their food, too! I tried the tri tip sandwich and it was decent.

You can immediately feel the warmth and energetic vibe walking in to Matt Denny's. The sound of laughter from various tables, the music playing overhead, and the lightly carrying sounds of the outdoor band from time to time. We went on a busy night just after New Year's. The place was hopping with merriment. The colorful interior is welcoming as well, begging you to have a seat in a booth and take a load off for a while. We were a party of six and had made a reservation. It appeared we had the largest open table seating indoors, but there were plenty of places on the heated, covered patio to accommodate large groups. There's also a bit of a private enclosed space in the dining room area for a larger group. Our waitress was friendly, personable, and attentive. She got each of our drinks orders, food orders with modifications made as asked, no prob splitting the tab. Our meals came out a bit at a time, with enough time in between for us to encourage others to begin eating. This is probably because we had separate orders. Everything came out as ordered and quite good! Everyone was happy with their meals. Our waitress checked on us regularly, for another round, any extras, and such. Dessert at the end, and before we knew it, the place was wrapping up and shutting down. You know a place cares about the good time of their customers when they're not hurrying to get you out! We appreciated that. Want classic comfort food in a casual and lively dining experience? This is your place!

Got a reply back from the owner. But, I think he was basing his reply on my very first review from years ago when the restaurant was under a different ownership. Like I said, we are *not* coming back even though it's walking distant from our home. This restaurant needs to have a better communication system especially when the customers bothered to make a reservation days ahead, stating that they need to seat outdoors and only to be surprised with Matt Denny not wanting to accommodate us when we showed up!!!

Food was a good portion. Service was great and food came out quickly, minimal wait. It was definitely fresh and straight from the grill. Ambience was great. Nice and cool on this hot weather.

If you go for the drinks and service and don't expect much more than bar food level quality, you will be just fine. If you expect anything more, you will be disappointed. Buddy and I tried the fish and chips, buddy suggested the place cause he wanted their roast beef sandwich. We were both disappointed. Fish was ok, but the batter was oily and didn't have much flavor. Didn't have any of the crispiness you would expect from fried fish. Fries were ok, but also tasted like they were cooked in old oil. Sandwich was dry and onion rings had the same texture and characteristics of the fish. All edible, but wish we had been drinking alcohol first which might have made the difference. The cook also made us a fresh batch of cocktail sauce which was really good and helped some which is my four stars and not three. That and the server. Been years since I've eaten or drank here, but it's close enough I'll try them again and hopefully change my rating.

this place is great, we went for breakfast and they have great selection of food! and it tasted yummy although I forgot to take pictures of Steak and egg, it was cooked to perfection! plenty of tables and the Ac works great, they also have patio. This place is clean, plenty of parking in the back. Tim was excellent and friendly, The place has Mimosas before i forget! great ambience pictures and fireplace, very classy. support local restaurants!!! this is a good one!

Ribeye steak with sides of sweet potato fries and garlic bread. Highly recommend garlic bread.

Nice environment and excellent selection of food. Though service could be slow sometimes but friendly servers more than made up for that.

Beer. Thats primarily what I come for here. The food is Ok. Can't complain too much because it's not bad but also not impressive. Bar service is good and the beer options are fair. Parking is out back but it takes a minute to find if it's your first time. A straight forward dark mahogany finish with dark and dim tones to what most traditional Irish pubs go for, but falls a bit short when it comes to apps and entres. I do hope the food improves. Service is great and so are the beer and cocktail choices. It's safe to say that there is food in case you have a few drinks.

I dined at Matt Denny's during a Christmas work dinner. They put us in a private room that was a little tight for 18 people, but very doable. The food was decent, though very salty. We also found that the meat dishes, particularly the steak, were overcooked by one measure of done-ness. For example, the person who ordered rare got medium and the person who ordered medium got well done. I got the chicken vechia and it did not have mushrooms. The sauce was good though.

I've lived in Arcadia for nearly two decades and had never stopped here to eat because I assumed it was just a bar. Wow--was I wrong! I was pleasantly surprised when I finally decided to give it a try for breakfast. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I'll definitely be back for dinner in the near future.

Local pub that needs your attention!! The feeling is warm and cozy. The food is comfort times 5. Beer and spirits flow easily and the bartender has a good hand if you get me Arcadia has some kitschy spots and this is right up Ami get them. I had a pastrami, excellent. Edamame was yummy and garlicky. Salads and chicken gumbo excellent. Service was fine and we have zero complaints

We sat at a table by the front window facing the main drag. The area definitely has an old town feel with many restaurants and shops up and down the street. There is also a park right across the street. There is plenty of parking around the corner on the street and in a nearby lot. I started out with the Coughlin's Law cocktail (Aviation gin, house infused vanilla syrup, fresh lemon, egg white, lavender bitters, $16). It was a good light drink with light vanilla and lemon flavor. I always love a good foam top too. She started out with a Basil Paloma (Herradura silver tequila, muddled basil & grapefruit, fresh grapefruit juice, lime, simple syrup, seltzer, $15). It had good grapefruit and basil flavor, and was nicely balanced. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower appetizer ($14). The cauliflower was supposed to be grilled, but it seemed almost raw. The buffalo sauce definitely had a good kick. For my entrée, I had the Black Angus Basin Burger (manchego cheese, carmelized onions, arugula, special sauce, brioche bun, $19). The burger was excellent. The cheese, carmelized onions, and arugula was a great flavor combo. The fries were good, but I'd order them more crispy next time. She had the two taco plate with fish and potato tacos ($15). The taco shells were freshly fried, and it was a filling plate that she enjoyed. We had one more round of drinks and I had the Billionaire cocktail (Old Forrester 100 proof bourbon, lemon, house made grenadine, absinthe, $16). This was excellent. It was very balanced, and not boozy at all with a very light sweetness. Her second was the Smoke and Fire (Peloton de la Muerte mezcal, Ancho Reyes liqueur, muddled jalapeno & orange, fresh lime, agave, chili salt, $15). It was pretty well balanced with a medium smokiness. It definitely had a kick of heat on the finish. Our server Lakyn was friendly and provided good service. The menu prices are cash prices. There is an extra 3.5% surcharge if you pay with a credit card. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was mostly a miss, but everything else was very good so I'm rounding up to five stars. They have a very good sized cocktail and food menu, as well as many beers on tap. They also have happy hour specials. We would definitely return if we were in the area again.

There was plenty of shade, comfortable seating, plants used as décor, and an overall relaxed atmosphere. It felt tucked away enough to enjoy the meal without too much noise. Convenient for me as i had my little one with me. I ordered a watermelon jalapeño margarita, but with vodka instead of tequila, and Tajín on the rim. It was delicious! It had a refreshing, flavorful taste which was exactly the kind of drink I was hoping for. For food, I ordered the steakhouse tacos. The tacos were tasty and cooked really well, but the portion size was a little disappointing. They only come with two tacos, plus tortilla chips and sauce, so paying around $16 felt a bit pricey for what you get. The food itself was good, but I definitely wished the portion was a little more generous. Customer service was excellent. The staff was friendly, and I really liked my waitress. I wasn't expecting a salty drink. I had to wash it down with iced water. My friend enjoyed her agave vanilla cream soda. She gladly accepted a refill. The grilled mushrooms were nicely seasoned. We enjoyed the variety: oyster and trumpet mushrooms. The farmhouse beets were served with arugula, feta, candied pecans, and a lemon vinaigrette. These were nice starters. I ordered the poke bowl. The portion size was perfect for lunch. It contained tuna, soba noodles at the base, small cubes of mango & avocado, toasted coconut, red onion, basil, and sesame seeds.
