Just got here. Sitting at the bar. But just based off service: I will never f$uc$Ing eat here again. First thing bartender asks if I'll be eating. I say yes. She says I have 15 minutes to order before kitchen closes. It's 7:30pm. Web says they close 9pm. Piss poor attitude. Not friendly. Came here with wifey after a day of errands. Blues session was scheduled for 5pm so we were lucky to hear some good music for a bit. Service was definitely slow. Not sure if the event impacted the system but it seems like it wasn't due to a lack of personnel. Kenny Cobb Salad was okay. Not enough dressing. The fish and chips were very good. Not overly battered and greasy. Coffee got cold quickly, and no refill offered. Crème brûlée was the winner even though wifey noted no whipped cream and no raspberry. The last time I came out to Matt Denny's was about 9 years ago. This recent visit was to celebrate our daughter's achievement. We arrived about mid-morning, were seated promptly and overall had great service and were well taken care of. Matt Denny's menu is comprised of bar food: appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, salads and more. Overall the food was good - my only regret were my daughter's potato skins that came out a rather over-cooked and *almost* seemed to be a day old my by estimate. You can immediately feel the warmth and energetic vibe walking in to Matt Denny's. The sound of laughter from various tables, the music playing overhead, and the lightly carrying sounds of the outdoor band from time to time. We went on a busy night just after New Year's. The place was hopping with merriment. The colorful interior is welcoming as well, begging you to have a seat in a booth and take a load off for a while. We were a party of six and had made a reservation. It appeared we had the largest open table seating indoors, but there were plenty of places on the heated, covered patio to accommodate large groups. There's also a bit of a private enclosed space in the dining room area for a larger group. Our waitress was friendly, personable, and attentive. She got each of our drinks orders, food orders with modifications made as asked, no prob splitting the tab. Our meals came out a bit at a time, with enough time in between for us to encourage others to begin eating. This is probably because we had separate orders. Everything came out as ordered and quite good! Everyone was happy with their meals. Our waitress checked on us regularly, for another round, any extras, and such. Dessert at the end, and before we knew it, the place was wrapping up and shutting down. You know a place cares about the good time of their customers when they're not hurrying to get you out! I stopped in for dessert and a drink. I sat at the bar. The service was a little inattentive. I did get my dessert, a creme brulee which was fine. The place had a dark woody vibe, kind of like a steak house and sports bar combined. It looked like they had a live band on the patio. read more

Buddy and I tried the fish and chips, buddy suggested the place cause he wanted their roast beef sandwich. We were both disappointed. Fish was ok, but the batter was oily and didn't have much flavor. Didn't have any of the crispiness you would expect from fried fish. Fries were ok, but also tasted like they were cooked in old oil. Sandwich was dry and onion rings had the same texture and characteristics of the fish. All edible, but wish we had been drinking alcohol first which might have made the difference. The cook also made us a fresh batch of cocktail sauce which was really good and helped some which is my four stars and not three. That and the server. Parking is out back but it takes a minute to find if it's your first time. A straight forward dark mahogany finish with dark and dim tones to what most traditional Irish pubs go for, but falls a bit short when it comes to apps and entres. I do hope the food improves. We also found that the meat dishes, particularly the steak, were overcooked by one measure of done-ness. My husband and I went for dinner on Monday night and the food was terrible. I ordered prime ribs it had no flavor, dry and extremely greasy. My husband ordered chili and a side salad the chili tasted like ketchup and the steak was chewy, the flavor bad and the greens on the salad were wilted. We ordered the sausage platter as appetizer which was good and we had some beer which was also good. The service was great the ambience wasn't too bad it's a cool looking restaurant but they need to clean more often the walls where our booth was at had food stains and the lamp had dust on it which was above and near our food. Had a great family dinner here. We went before seeing the light show in Arcadia the night before Thanksgiving. Kids had a tri tip sandwich which was amazing and a turkey melt which was also amazing. So, was a bit hesitant to try this place based on some of the reviews, but remembered that this is Yelp where everyone has an opinion about what they experienced and a lot of times some one star reviews are unfounded. My bro has been searching for Fish n Chips and I wanted a steak. Seeing that they use Cod for their Fish n Chips, we headed out to try this place. One reviewer stated that service was rude and inattentive, our server Myranda was extremely attentive and very friendly. Our food came out pretty quick. I ordered my New York Steak medium and it came out medium, unlike what another Yelper stated. Only thing that I would change is having my steak without sauce, I prefer just light salt and pepper, but that's my preference. Fish and Chips were good according to my brother, he prefers a heavier batter but said he would order it again. The vibe is lively as it should be, it's an Irish Pub! And now I've found another gem. I'm currently an evacuee from the what's the worst fire in FOREVER. For some reason the power is not back on , but the fire crews have moved to the other side. Anyway, this is my one good thing place in my dumpster fire of life right now. It was awesome. This place reminds me of places from my youth. It's like a neighborhood traven feeling, but with like gourmet food. The old places have great food because it's wrapped up in memories and community. This is new to me . I haven't lived here an entire year yet. So, this won't be great because of nostalgia or fond memories. This is just really excellent food. It's the place I'll come back to try just about everything on the menu. I had their Benedict with the salmon. Now, I have a caveat about poached eggs. I like to have a firm white, and most people are good with the squishy. So, I never take points away for poached eggs. Because I 'm really particular about that. It's a spectrum thing, y'all. That being said it was one of the better Benedicts I've had, and the hash browns were fire too! ( notice what I did there). Anyway, those hash browns make me believe the regular French fries here are gold metal level. I'm down to trying them, ASAP! Tim was awesome and just a decent human being. He offered to let me charge me devices because I didn't have power. That tells me this place is a rare gem of just decent human beings. I have lived in the community for over 40 years and have never come in to try Matt Denny's before so figured I would come in on a Thursday night to try it out. It was surprisingly busy for a weeknight. After waiting for about 20 minutes, we were able to get a very nice, comfy booth space in the back. The servers are all very attentive to asking how things are, taking the order, and refilling drinks. The loss of 2 stars is really because of the food. Nothing that we had was overwhelmingly good nor bad. The tri-tip had flavor, but was more salty than anything without much depth in flavor for the Demi glaze sauce. The BLT sandwich bread was not toasted and kind of soggy. The breading on the mozzarella sticks was different than what I typically see as they most likely used the same breading as the fish and chips. I did have a coupon from the Arcadia Quarterly to take off $10 from the bill so that helped, but probably won't be returning again for the food. read more

Really bad service and food quality around 7 or 8 pm on a Friday. Even worse, there is a leadership problem. There was a band outside and the restaurant was quite empty. We were seated at a high top in the bar area and had to flag down a waiter for just about everything. My food was very slow to come (30+ minutes) and when it did it was completely cold. It had obviously sat in back for a long time. Again no waite staff so I alerted the manager who was nearest to us and counting receipts at the reception desk. He took the food to the kitchen, brought a replacement back about 3 min later, and told me he "snagged someone else's order that had just come out" . What coincidence! Someone else in a near empty restaurant ordered the same custom burger and substituted sweet potato fries. A second beer was arriving when the manager set the replacement food down with his "swiped someone else's" story, and he told the bartender the beer was on him and to comp it. In hindsight sight I should have walked out at this point but I championed on. After eating microwaved food (fries were soggy), I flagged down the waiter for the tab. The "comped" beer was on it. I hope that was a one off scenario and the place is better than my experience, but the manager's actions and response to clearly substandard service was concerning. Seems sketchy from top down. Bacon, cheese, sliced avocado and onions. Price was $25.70. Service, however was non existent. We saw the waiter twice. Once when he took our order and once when we paid the bill. Another person brought us our food and that was that. The only time we were offered a refill for our sodas was when we were finished and ready to pay our bill. Had a nice dinner and watched the football game last night at Matt Denny's. People were all awesome. Greeted warmly at the door and given our own space in a side room to enjoy family/friends while watching the big screen TV. FOOD was very good. Wife has dietary restrictions and the kitchen accommodated her needs. The bartender/hostess made an outstanding skinny margarita. I made full use of the large beer selection to drown my sorrows since my team played poorly. Honestly, everything was great except for one thing. When searching for a place to enjoy the game and get dinner we found the Matt Denny website. Join an become a VIP and you can get a coupon for your first order. I admit I didn't read the small print and was surprised to find that the coupon is ONLY for online orders for delivery or pickup. How silly is that? Reward the customers that DON'T come to the restaurant, but give discounts to those that won't even leave their hotel room. So while everything was wonderful and I recommend it even without a coupon, I question the ownership's business sense. read more

First, they call themselves an Irish bar but if they're an Irish bar then we think they should be playing Irish music, but they clearly have a different opinion. Their live band playing in the tent they set up was playing regular music, not Irish music. So we decided to go inside to hear some good Irish music, but again, they just had regular music playing softly in the back ground. If you're in Irish bar, I would think people expect to hear Irish music, especially on St. Patrick's Day! We were there for drinks and dinner, but since they didn't have any Irish music, we decided to stay and have a quick drink before heading home so that we could listen to Irish music at home, and order dinner in since it was so boring at Matt Denny's. We ordered a Car Bomb while there, and it was the worst car bomb I've ever seen. We've been to many Irish bars and we've never seen anything so ridiculous. They served it in a small plastic cup with maybe 2 oz of Guinness beer, and in the middle of the cup they had another very small cup that had the Bailey's and Irish Whiskey. It was an insult that they served this tiny drink, charged for it, and called it an Car Bomb. We were so disgusted, we walked out. Instead, we went home, put on great Irish music, ordered dinner to be delivered, and enjoyed Car Bomb's the way they are meant to be served. We will never go back to Matt Denny's. They may call themselves an Irish bar, but after our three trips to Ireland, we know very well that they aren't anything close to what an Irish bar should be. read more
