Decent Chinese food if you want a quick fix but for $18 during lunch??? Pretty damn worth imo. Yeah yeah 3 stars what you expect from a Chinese restaurant but price wise, you won't regret

Fried wings, steamed fish, shrimp, mushrooms , green beans, chow-mien and tapioca. Great meal.

Great presentation, great tasting selections. Clean establishment, wonderful service. Really great buffet. From Japanese sushi, soups, salads, fruit many entrees, and dessert. Chinese pastries, and ice cream. Fairly priced. You won't be disappointed. Try them.

You know how there's that saying where 3.5 stars is the sweet spot for Asian restaurants? Well I personally believe 3 - 3.5 stars is the sweet spot for Asian buffets, where you just have to come in and try it yourself. Asian buffet connoisseur here. I have to say, don't judge a book by its cover. Because for example, went to a 4.2 star Asian buffet in the city of Santa Rosa. Location matters people! Have to consider the community ethnic background of who's likely leaving the reviews. It so happens that the people reviewing Super Buffet, don't know what super means. It was one of the worst buffets we went to and will never come back. Lone Tree, it's 3 stars average because it's a mixture of good and bad reviews. Have to consider everything right? For us it's a 5 star establishment. Been going here for over 15 years since it was Golden Dragon Buffet. The space, there's so much space and tables you're not waiting for more than 15 min for a table for 4. The price, even as of this review, $17.99 for lunch Monday to Saturday, $22.99 for dinner Monday to Thursday, and $23.99 for dinner Friday to Sunday. They could easily make dinner for Friday to Sunday $27.99 and people would still come here. I would still come here (but please don't raise the price). The food, so much variety of food. The kitchen staff constantly comes out with fresh food refilling the trays of food so you're always getting hot and fresh food. There are so many people here, the food is never just sitting idly and getting dry. You'll see a lot of people get a take out box to go too. $7.99/lb for lunch, $8.99/lb for dinner, $9.99/lb for sushi (ehhh personally not worth it in my opinion, and soup is $9.59 for a quart. TVs, I feel like this isn't really talked about much. There's a TV in each section playing sports or a movie, like it's November 15 and they're playing Elf on the TV, it's not on just some random channel. Or they'll have on sports or a basketball game. Restrooms are always maintained and fairly clean with soap dispensers full or near full, meaning the staff also have access to a clean restroom to wash their hands. Back to the food, along with variety, there's flavor. The food is good! I have no qualms or anything negative about it. So much variety that you can choose what you like and don't like. They even have more American items to help cater to everyone like pizza fries and fried chicken. Sushi is decent, don't expect much but it IS all you can eat and good enough sashimi. The rice to fish ratio is balanced too, it's not 78% rice 22% fish like a lot of places. The shrimp can be inconsistent at times. If it looks darker/sautéed long enough, it's one of the best shrimp dishes you'll taste. If it looks light colored then it tastes just boiled. Another significant thing is the fried bananas and sesame balls. A lot of places don't have one or the other or both. And the flavor of both here is solid. The steamed rice here is really really good if you're a connoisseur of rice and can tell the difference between types of rice and consistency. Dessert section isn't plentiful but it's a lot more than many other places. You have a wide variety of fruit, various pre-baked pastries; and scoop-yourself ice cream. If you're worried about salt, remember this is a buffet. They want their food to taste good. They'd rather over season than under season. You can watch your food intake more at home. But you can still choose options that are more vegetables or protein too. Last thing (sorry this isn't organized thoughts, I'm just yapping about whatever comes to mind). Service. Waiters are on point, always attentive for refills of drinks. They're not stingy on napkins which a lot of places are. You'll see in the pictures I've added, when you're seated they provide a nice stack of napkins for you from the start along with straws for your drinks (which they give you within 2 minutes of being seated). You really just cannot go wrong with this gem of a buffet. It's truly a IYKYK type of buffet in my opinion. Try it out yourself and see what you think. Or don't try it and that's okay too. But I know I'll be back, again and again and again.

Dirty plates that the server refused to take away from our table.

I'm giving Lone Tree Buffet a 1-star review strictly because of the service from one server. We actually love coming to this restaurant and have always had good experiences with the other servers. The rest of the staff is usually kind, attentive, and welcoming, which is exactly why this situation is so frustrating and disappointing. The woman with blonde hair was the server we had is honestly the worst server we have ever experienced here. She had a terrible attitude the entire time we were there. Our table was stacked with dirty dishes and she never bothered to clear them. We had to sit there surrounded by plates while she walked by multiple times without doing her job. Every time we asked for something simple like a refill, she rolled her eyes and gave us attitude like we were bothering her. She made us feel like we were not even paying customers and like we didn't deserve basic service. It was extremely rude and completely unacceptable. The worst part is that this is not the first time this has happened. Every single time we come here and she is our server, she acts the same way. She always seems irritated, throws dishes down in a rough and angry manner, and makes the entire experience uncomfortable and unpleasant. At one point she was even pointing at us and talking about us, which was incredibly inappropriate and unprofessional. No customer should ever be treated like that. Honestly, behavior like this makes us not even want to come back here with our family and friends anymore, which is really sad because we used to enjoy coming here. One employee with this kind of attitude is enough to drive loyal customers away, and she is going to be the reason people stop coming to this restaurant. Management seriously needs to do something about this server. Her behavior is rude, disrespectful, and completely unacceptable for someone working in customer service. If management continues to ignore this kind of behavior, don't be surprised when customers stop coming back.

lone tree buffet is one of the very few buffets towards the Brentwood / Oakley area, as they have a simple, but good variety of foods and dessert on their menu. service is good, with immediate seating and a waiter helping you with your drinks and customer service throughout your time there for a weekend, it was busy, but no wait time, which shows how spacious this place is. food was great: i started with Chinese, with chow mein, shrimps and fish fillets. then, i had a plate of salad, fruits and greens. i also had dumplings, ribs and rangoon. the cream and cheese rangoon were my favorite: i had so many of them. lastly, i had dessert, consisting in coffee ice cream (my fav), chocolate cake and more rangoon. perfect for my cheat day! ambiance was great, busy and cooks did a great with plenty food on time and coming out hot! only downside was them charging me for 'dinner' instead of 'lunch', although i came with time before 3:30, even giving them a call to confirm their exact times. wouldn't be sure to guide with the times, as i really don't know when they start dinner at their location: make sure to ask before you enter. nonetheless, their food and service were great, so it was a mostly positive experience

Plate #1 - corn, peeled shrimp, fried chicken wings, steamed fish, shrimp sautéed with veg, chow mein.

I had to visit a retailer in Brentwood, so I decided to make a day of it. We stopped by Lone Tree Buffet for the first time in a little bit. Arriving at around 11:30, parking in front was easy. We walked in and were greeted and led to a table immediately. Our drink orders were taken, and we headed for the food! We rarely go to buffets anymore. It's just not on our radar, but every now and then, it's a nice treat. The idea shouldn't be to gorge yourself on as much food as you can in order to get your money's worth. Rather, it should be to be able to enjoy numerous flavors without ordering the entire menu. I immediately went to check if they still offered won ton as well as hot and sour soup. Yes! That's a score for me. Life is good. If they had nothing else that I cared for, I could get my fill with that alone. Especially since they had green onions to top it with. We each kept to two plates, so we walked out satisfied but not waddling. Everything that I tried tasted as good as it looked. I stayed away from the fresh fruit, sushi and desserts so I can't comment on them. Service was good. Empty dishes were removed immediately from our table. The food lines were clean and kept pretty full. One of the steam tables was so hot that you could see the water boiling. Okay, why only three stars??? We were seated across from an alcove where the drink station was. No noticeable issues with cleanliness but I did notice what appeared to be large plastic bottles of Apple and Orange Juice sitting on the counter waiting to be served. Those should have either been sitting in a tub of ice or better yet, refrigeration. Food Safety rules dictate that foods be kept under 40-degrees Fahrenheit or over 140-degrees. Guests who ordered juice received them on ice, so they wouldn't know that the juice had been sitting out. That oversight costs them two stars because i would have given five stars for what I ate.

We went on Sunday . It was really busy, which is a good sign. The food was really good. It was definitely fresh. The staff was amazing. They were quick efficient help us clear the plates. I had a really large party and they accommodate us. This was the place that holds a lot of memories. Great place to bring your friends and family. I would like to thank the staff for being so accommodating. Definitely check it out.

Came here for a birthday celebration. They were very accommodating with a large group which was fantastic. The wait wasn't long. Pretty good selection of hot, cold, including sushi and dim sum. Their chicken wings were fantastic. Dishes on the buffet got refilled quickly and all tasted fresh. They serve two choice of ice cream and good dessert selection. Service was excellent and lots of parking in an outskirts mall. Highly recommended. Cheers!

The buffet is okayish, but nothing near fancy nor extreme. My sister invited the family to try thisplace out. We had our share experiences from beijing buffet to Moonstar buffet. What started as having an apetite of interest quickly drew to a concern for a loss of taste. The food was abit off like they all shared within the same distinct section on the stove. THe almond cookies tasted good if not average, the ume buns was good if not sweet. The mango jelly is very tasty and the sushi covered in unagi sauce was splended... The way it arrange in terms of presentation is good just like all the photos you see from various users. This is where the tasting became an issue... Rice tasted off like the way its storage was not well maintained (it felt liek they took it out of the box and cooked it right away..hence why it has this cardboard after tsate) Broccoli tasteD okay but the chicken felt stale and rubbery and difficult to chew off, it is like your liking the geleton off the bone. Chowmein was average but the aftertastes felt like it has too much greese from the left over chicken and brocolli Coconut maroon tasted like it was just delivered from another baker facility and was stored like a few days before being served... Won ton tasted like chicken and garlic so again back to the chicken and brocolli tray.. Lyrlchie tasted from a can with a hint of aluminum Suatee beef tasted like it has aluminum polish so this was a huge red flag Fish tasted like thr display palette has not been cleaned properly which gives you this after taste that the fish was on set at an ice box and forgot to take it out the next day after. I'll get to the point:: This buffet is in the same category as "FAST FOOD GREASY" ALL YOU CAN EAT resturant, no similar to Jack-n-the-box or wendys. I think they reused some of the trays and had to spray wash the dishes to reshuffle the food in order to keep it fresh but the way the taste felt will make you feel ill or bloated. The waitress / hostess are extremely friendly people.. but the seating is very uncomfortable, if luck is on your side, you might be place on the booth, if your unlucky theres a chance you will be placed in a seperate closed off room where it feels more compact then the other side of the room has. The wait time for a seating can range betwen 30 minutes to 45 minutes depending on which day. All in all, if you dont mind the aftertaste then maybe this place would be right for you, but because I visited various location it is far less extravagant then what moonstar buffet had to offer.

Ask the Community - Lone Tree Buffet

Do they have crabs and crawfish on weekdays dinner?

Do they have shrimp available everyday or just Sundays?

Yes, they serve shrimp all day long

What kind of American food do they have?

In my opinion, 90%,at least, of the food is Asian inspired with some non-Asian finger foods like chicken wings and cheese sticks or similar as well as salads. I hope this helps, I would go to Hometown buffet for American type dishes wherever one is

What days do they serve steamed crabs? i use to go there almost every Sunday for the steamed crabs, but they no longer serve it on Sundays. Are they not serving steamed crabs anymore?

Hi Not really sure but yes I think it was Sunday's. Haven't been on a Sunday in quite awhile. Most of the time I did lunch there if working in the area.

Unfortunately, my most recent experience completely changed my opinion. I ordered a roll for my daughter with no avocado and added cucumber. When we got home, the roll only had crab inside. There was no cucumber at all. I called and simply asked for a refund, but I was told the chef insisted the cucumber was in the roll, so they refused. Instead, they told me to drive back so they could remake it. After driving another 20 minutes back (40 minutes of driving total), the employee inspected the roll herself and immediately saw that there was, in fact, no cucumber. So the issue I reported from the beginning was real. What disappointed me most wasn't the mistake. Mistakes happen. It was being treated like my word wasn't trustworthy after years of supporting this business. Rather than believing a loyal customer or offering a simple refund, I had to waste my time and gas proving that the order was incorrect. It makes me wonder if one roll was really worth losing a long-time customer. Customer service is about how you handle mistakes, and unfortunately this experience left me feeling undervalued. I hope management reconsiders how situations like this are handled in the future.

Reasonably price. Honestly, the pork belly is the star and could be the best I've had in a long time considering I still live and grew up in Oakland. At other chinese bbq spots the skin to me is usually very crunchy and chewy. But Roast Eatery pork belly skin is so light and crispy, that after a few bites the tender meat and fat slowly melts in your mouth making it very enjoyable. The sweet sauce with the pork belly is new to me. it's interesting but i prefer eating it with the ginger scallion because it helps cut the richness from the pork belly. The Haianese Chicken is exceptional. Cooked perfectly to tendernism. Anyone new to chinese bbq and wondering why the chopped chicken bone is still red or pink, that's called myoglobin so don't worry it's already cooked and means that it's perfectly gently poached. Of course, always take caution, ask questions and do a little research. If you're afraid, just eat around it, but this will probably be the best and healthiest way to eat chicken if you're on a diet. Roast Duck was flavorful, tender and nicely roasted. Definitely your go to local spot if you're in the East County (Oakley, Brentwood, or Antioch). It's also on par with local favorite spots in Oakland Chinatown like Gold Medal. Service is very straight forward and quick to order. The staff are friendly. Got our order in less than 10 minutes. Overall, I will be coming here more frequently for my chinese bbq fix and quick healthy lunch. They also own the dim sum bakery next door and it's definitely a hit too!

I ordered their roast pork belly with rice which was really good. Expect that traditional 5-spice flavor that's mainly used in Chinese roast pork. They give a generous amount too which is nice. I also enjoyed the ginger sauce it came with. I thought this paired better than the black sweet sauce they provide. Typically I like my pork belly thoroughly cooked but this is a different style and I still enjoyed it. It's worth $15! I want to come back to try their duck next!

Sometimes or most times we like to be ambitious and grab a side of dumplings (pork & cabbage). The Lanzhou Hand Pulled Beef Noodle 5/5 Very clean and well seasoned broth. Noodles are cooked perfectly and chewy. Brisket is tender. It's a very comforting bowl no matter the weather. Bokchoy w/ Garlic 5/5 I hated veggies when I was a kid, but when my mom would stir fry Bokchoy with garlic I could eat them all day and forget I even hated veggies. This dish reminded me of my childhood. It's delicious and pairs well with the noodles for a well balanced meal and for digestion later. Dumpling (Pork & Cabbage) This is a delicious side option. It's super juicy and tender on the inside. Well seasoned and addictive. We wanted to try other dim sum options but thought it was expensive compared to actual dim sum spots. So instead of choosing the 4 pc options, we opted to get an 8 pc dumpling option for the same price and the bang for the buck. I tried a new item which was the braised pork belly and I would not recommend it at all. Very salty and oddly sweet at the same time. Pork belly was tough, dry and chewy. Didn't look like the picture and wasn't fan of the corn in the broth. I think I'll be sticking to my usual and their specialty. Service 4/5 Staff is friendly and food is delivered timely. Sometimes it's hard to get their attention depending where you sit. Ambience 5/5 On a hot day, it's nice and cool inside. Plenty of parking. I was curious to try this place because of all of their fame online. Despite how slow they are, I…read morealways seem them on reels or tiktok videos for some reason! They have a great lunch special. The dining room area felt a little dingy, but their open kitchen was very clean. I did appreciate that. On my visit, I was the only customer in the restaurant and lot. We had two of their lunch specials and an order of their fried fish. I personally think you should stick to their lunch items because, although we didn't hate the fried fish, it wasn't that great for nearly $20 and it was a much smaller portion than expected too. I felt like I got the last of an open bag and they didn't want to open another one lol....

We've lived in Oakley for 22 yrs and we just came here for the first time the other day. This place…read morealways looks dead from the outside but I've heard nothing but good things so we thought we'd give it a try since recent social media posts have been praising the them. When we arrived, there was another couple there that just ordered and sat down. Yes, you order at a window and then if you're dining in, you just find a table to sit at and they'll bring the food to you. It was really weird in there. No music playing or anything but it was relatively clean but very quiet, just the chatter between my husband and I and the other couple. Once the food arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to see how fresh and yummy it looked. It was all very good! Prices versus portions, I feel we get more elsewhere but the food was very good. Would we go back, sure but probably for take out only. Maybe if they had music playing so there wasn't the odd silence, we'd dine in. Overall, it's definitely worth trying! We definitely enjoyed our food and had a little bit to take home for leftovers!!

I AM SADDEN BY THE UNEXPECTED NEWS THAT THIS LOCATION IS CLOSING THEIR DOORS TONIGHT! 2/8/2025…read more This place was amazing! Their dumplings, noodles, fried chicken wings, soup, damnear everything on their menu is delicious! Vicky, our server was very attentive, sweet, caring and provided the best customer service I've ever witnessed in a long time. The dumpling maker always smiling. Staff is very nice. The restaurant is really clean. A lot of tables and chairs, I love sitting in the booths. Now I'll have to drive all the way to Walnut Creek location for some dumplings! I wish they could have stayed open at least until after the Chinese New Year. I wish I didn't have to say goodbye.

So glad we chose this place for lunch after doing some shopping!…read more We walked in around 12:30 on a Saturday and were greeted and sat right away, along with waters given. We were given menus but there's also a QR code on the table so kinda confusing if we were to order ourselves or not. I was just about to order on my phone when a lady came to take our orders. As always, we ordered too much food but were happy to take home leftovers. For two people, we ordered: -hot & spicy pork xiao long bao (XLB): omg, could be the best XLB we've had! Spice was just right, very soupy, good texture to dumpling -beef XLB: sooo good! Dumplings were made well, and so much soup inside! Good flavor to the beef. Excited to try the other flavors (chicken, regular pork) next time -juicy pan fried pork buns: unique, and verrry good! Lots of soup inside, great flavor! It's like an XLB meets fried bun! And so cute too. A little tricky to eat but would get it again for sure -braised beef noodle soup: loved the texture of the noodles, taste was a little bland, but a nice comforting bowl on a cold day -shrimp & pork siu mai: good. A bit on the small side, but you get 6 of them in one order -steamed bbq pork buns: good, nothing especially standout Decor is minimal, with a partial open kitchen. But the cool thing is the art on the wall-- it's 3D and is different from most Asian restaurant decor Restrooms were fine, nothing fancy, but seemed clean enough Come for the dumplings!!!

Not sure why this place has such a low rating because the food was actually really good!…read more We ordered takeout and everything held up nicely. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was definitely the star (5/5). Crispy, sweet, and super satisfying. The Chow Fun was also a favorite (5/5) with great texture and flavor. The Orange Chicken (4/5) and both the Veggie Fried Rice (4/5) and Pork Fried Rice (4/5) were solid. Flavorful and good portions. Since we ordered to go, I don't have much to say about the ambiance or service, but based on the food alone, I would definitely order from here again!

Quick n' easy Chinese food. It's about average, nothing to rave about. The food is okay. Edible,…read morebut not extravagant. I've eaten take out here numerous times when I crave Chinese take-out. There's just not much to work with in Oakley, CA. I would say Uncle Wong is just about the same with the competitors. The food, without getting into specifics, can be inconsistent-- sometimes bland, sometimes, a little less bland. Just like any other Chinese take-out, the food can also be oily, which is expected. The serving size is about the same as others, as well as the price. The 3 stars stem from them at least being "okay", service and readiness being quick, and priced decently. The inside is small, ran down -- horrific bathroom, but at least I never dine in. Until Oakley has something better, it'll do.
