The food were cold and didn't taste good. So disappointed on the sushi bar. Will not go back.

Overall there's a lot of value at this place. You can't find a place that beats the price here with the quality of food and service they provide you. The owners and waiters were nice and attentive. Food was coming out pretty consistently. Some food were unexpectedly salty but no big deal. The steam counters were able to keep food pretty hot which was impressive and added some points. Food selection wasn't the best but again, you have to consider how much you're only paying for this. Will come back again. read more

Had an unfortunate cancellation with my appointment in San Jose. I was going to eat at Tomi buffet in east ridge so with the unsatisfying craving for an Asian buffet, I stayed local and decided to dine at Lone tree buffet in Brentwood for lunch. I understand busy and lunch rushes. What I don't get is how bad service can be generally in most restaurants when this happens. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT goes an incredibly long way. I rather be told along the lines of "hi sorry it's really busy can I get your name and I'll let you know when you're next?" Or "have you been helped yet?" Or "one second please." Nope. Just straight up ignored unless you were paying or came in a big group. The younger girl with glasses seemed a bit irritated when I asked if she can write down I wanted a booth and that I can wait. It's more convenient that way asking ahead of time instead of doing it last second right? 20 minutes. Not too bad. Came back in 15 to check my spot... find out I had been skipped. It was now an older Asian lady and a middle aged Asian man with glasses with brand new papers for the waitlist. The older lady seemed to have trouble multi-tasking with payments and checking people in alone whereas the Asian man was just taking whoever walked in. So unorganized. I told the Asian lady I was asked to come back in 20min for a booth. She said "no booth available it's very busy. Sit at a table." There was clearly multiple booths available it just had to be cleaned off, and I looked at the wait. The rest are walk-in's cus I know who was before me. I come back to the front after being sat at a table that I wanted a booth. I already had an unpleasant morning experience with my plans being ruined. I just wanted some privacy and eat my food in piece not eat at a huge table by myself and stare at other people. The Asian man came back I told him I waited 30min now he says "how many?" I said "just one. I asked for a booth." He proceeds to repeat himself and said "how many??" With attitude. Did he not listen to me? I literally said only one. The Asian lady spoke Cantonese to the guy basically saying rudely to just sit me at a dirty booth and clean it later. To just sit me down already. If it was that quick to have me at my booth when you're put on the spot, why all of a sudden seat me when you could have done that when I was being nice?? I don't need a grown man or anybody in that matter making a scene saying 'How many' multiple times in a row as if I'm deaf or stupid. You have no idea how bad I wanted to go off on both of them for being rude as hell for no reason. I was very patient, tried to explain how long I waited, just wanted a damn booth, and go on with my day. But no. I'm pretty sure the lady talked shit about me as she walked by when I was finally sat. The food alone is alright. Fresh fruits and soup. Soda was flat so I added some lychee to give it some flavor. I usually dine in for dinner time cus there's better options with seafood. But after today's encounter don't think I'd go back for awhile. It's not like they'd care anyways, it's the only Asian buffet in Brentwood they're going to be busy all the time. I'm telling you though, food ain't that amazing to be acting like that. I shouldn't have even left a tip at all their attitudes were so shitty. Another place that only cares about money. People are walking around everywhere for food, everyone is pretty polite about waiting for there own servings, the food is okay, the chow mein is good, the fruit is good, we got seated quickly and we got full quickly. The food was good but it's lacking in ambiance. My husband use to look forward to their Mongolian station. Unfortunately, they've never brought it back. The service was ok, but it's quite unusual to have to retrieve your own silverware in a sit down restaurant, even a buffet. This doesn't leave an impression of sterile utensils. It's sits in a mass tray that you take from. Everyone's hands touches them. The ladies in the front desk need to smile and greet. After all, they are suppose to be the hostess and when taking customers to be seated, don't treat it as a chore. I've gone to this location many times before. I checked their website to see business hours and prices. There was 3 of us seated for food. The food was great but the bill was more than expected. When I asked the person assigned to our table why it was high he said the price changed today. I had no idea. I understand that everything's going up but transperancy is very important. One of the plates had an actual dead lice on it!!! We got sat at the back rooms where there's no food so we had to walk to the other side of the building to get food, it was veryyyy loud to the point where we really couldn't even hear ourselves talking. A different server (not the one who brought our drinks out) tried to keep a tip of over $60 and even when we tried to tell them we didn't get our change back, that same lady came back with $10 laughing .. I had to go back and let them know that wasn't the right amount of change we were supposed to get even with a tip included because they had included a tip without our permission. That same lady then came to our table as we were leaving and took our change and was going through it to the point where we just let her keep $15 even though the service was terrible and she wasn't even our server!!! Well once again we decided to eat at Lone Tree Buffet because we love all the food we have. But like always I tried going because of how hot it is, we told a couple workers if they could turn up the AC they said it's low so they wouldn't turn it up which I think they should have it up high all the time. Other restaurants have a super cool you're supposed to be cool and comfortable when you go to a restaurant right? Otherwise the food is really good. The waiters I really nice don't know much English but they're kind. So if you want to eat some really good food all you can eat at 23 a person I do recommend you go in here if you don't mind being hot while you're eating. read more

First off, customer service is absolutely a**. On the weekends they treat people like poop and have tables open but wont give them to people. Second , i went today and there was 2 ROACHES in my food! Luckily, it was i my food and not my daughter's ! All the waitress said was "oh. Im sorry" in the most casual tone ever. Second they still wanted me to pay more than HALF?! My bill was originally $48 something, and expected me to pay $25 something. I told them i would only pay for the drinks and the young girl upfront told me i can pay the $25 & lowered it to $20. Im an unproblematic person so i just gave the 20 and left really upset because the food was actually pretty good. And they didn't even throw out the contaminated good afterwards. read more

We came pretty late in the evening (6PM) considering LONE TREE BUFFET closed at 8PM on the day we went there. Even though they were that close to closing, fresh food still came out of the kitchen. When I say "fresh", I am not guaranteeing that the food were harvested or caught or killed very shortly before it landed on the table. I meant the food in the serving trays did not look old and were not leftovers. Your standard Chinese food, American food, some sushi, Mongolian BBQ, dessert table, salad table were all here. There were seafood galore. Crawfish here?! There were SIX different flavors of ice cream available! Plenty of free parking in the lot for the center. read more

Humm, buffets really are what they are these days, and I feel like in the "current times" we're living in, things have become slightly alittle more complicated, especially for establishments that deal with food prep on a large scale. "Lone Tree Buffet" formally known as "Golden Dragon Buffet", is your standard run of the mill Chinese/Fusion buffet. Pretty much the same menu you would see at other similar establishments with a few select offerings. I feel they're doing an okay job abiding by new restrictions that are in play. Now let me tell you why maybe you should consider your options before attending here.. "Lone Tree Buffet" Location - Brentwood, Ca Food/Drink - Standard Buffet with a Sprite Price - $21.73 (total with tax) Lone Tree Buffet: This establishment sits off Lone Tree Road in Brentwood. The shopping center it's part of is kinda on the smaller side so parking could be atrocious on busier days. To abide by new guidelines they require you have proof of vaccination (which they weren't checking) and they have limited seating in which you have to wait before you're seated. The time limit to being seated is limited to one hour and let me tell you....plan accordingly if you want to visit on the weekend or evenings, as the wait could be up to almost an hour. I waited about 40 min for just myself, I almost wanted to consider other options around, but I wanted Chinese Food sooooo....I waited. Now let me tell you about the food.. The Buffet $17.69 - On Saturday and Sundays the $17.69 price is all day, where as on Monday-Friday there is a variation on the prices before 3:30 pm. I also got a Sprite ($2.29) to go with my meal for the evening. They had your broccoli beef, fried rice, steamed rice, soups, sushi and fresh fruits and veggies ect. I just got a little sample of things here and there and I have to say the food was decent, nothing that really I couldn't get at any other similar establishments. The one thing I did like here is the serving trays seemed smaller so the food seemed to move faster and seemed fresher. My favorite dish was the salt and pepper cut up squid, it was a stand out. And I also like the fact for the broccoli beef, the broccoli still had a bite instead of being overcooked like it could tend to be from some establishments. They gave you gloves to serve yourself with, they don't have the Mongolian style grill at this time, but there are plenty of options here. Overall: "Lone Tree Buffet" is solid, that is if you don't mind the wait if you're coming on a weekend or later in the day on a weekday. If you're still paranoid about going to eat at a buffet "in the current landscape" don't base your review off that, just don't go. But if you want some decent food, I would recommend this place. This place surprised me in the best way! The prices are unbeatable (I believe it's $12.95 for lunch and $18.95 for dinner) and the food is not bad at all. They have a good selection of meat options from chicken to shrimp to sashimi (dinner even offers crab legs!). They have a seamless operation going - customers are given gloves to retrieve food, staff members are constantly wiping areas clean, and food trays are replenished right away. They also offer to go plates, and they charge by weight. This place is pretty popular, but the longest we've had to wait for large parties (6+ people) is about to 10 minutes. The service is nice and quick, even when it's busy, in all the times that I have come here. I've enjoyed this place ever since they first opened and it's one of my favorite restaurants. The price is great but for some reason all the food was really sweet. To the point every bite I would eat made me feel sick so I stopped eating. They do have quiet a few basic kid foods (mine are pretty picky) they were able to eat more than I could. Our friend that we took out to lunch even thought the food was a bit sweet. The dessert buffet had a ice cream fountain to rinse the 1 ice cream scooper, and the water was stinky and murky.
