The building is a beautiful mansion Est. in 1806. The mansion was converted to a restaurant in 1975. You need reservations for the upper upscale dining area. We decided to eat in the Speakeasy room located in the basement because it was more casual. Glad we ate in speakeasy room because it was a really nice cave looking room with vintage decor and cool prohibition photos from the 1920s. We enjoyed the Half Rack of char grilled pork ribs with brown sugar, soy and ginger with a side of cheesy scallop potatoes. For dessert, we enjoyed the crème brûlée and Kahlua cheesecake. It was pretty loud (which would be expected when it was as crowded as it was). The menu is pretty extensive with a wide variety of choices. Everything from chicken fingers to steaks. They were out of several things the night we were there. As I mentioned, it was busy, but it was still early enough that I wouldn't have anticipated it would have been an issue. So we had to pivot and make changes to what was ordered. My daughter had a steak and she thought it was delicious. It was tender and cooked well. Service was slow and spotty. Again, they were busy, but we had to ask several times for things like water refills. And our server took part of the order wrong, so one of the entrees came out wrong. Because of how long everything took to get, we just took it as is. There were no apologies, just "we're really busy" (yes, I know that). Overall, we had an enjoyable meal and will likely be back.
