Shutting down all of the Long John Silver's locations was a huge disservice, so I was pleasantly surprised to find one on the West end of Chicago proper. It's in a shared space with a Taco Bell and a Popeyes. There is still the same flavor but with a more fast food feel to it.

Two orders of Fish n Fries (sub hushpuppies for one order. All this for $4.78 plus tax!

Why would I give a fast food restaurant five stars? Because they have the most friendly, helpful workers ever AND the food is so hot, fresh and delicious! The last LJS in Chicago is a treasure and I hope it never goes away!!

Hadn't had Long John Silvers in years. It was delicious. Just like I remembered. And the staff are very nice.

Five stars because.....this is the last LJS in the city. Nostalgia. Always love the fish and hush puppies.

I'm not sure if this is the last LJS in the city of Chicago but I love their food so much.

Jeff's Red Hots is one of those Chicago places that reminds you why you should occasionally ignore…read morethe tourist lists and follow the locals. The Chicago hot dog was exactly what I hoped for, but the surprise was the fried shrimp. Easily some of the best I've had. Crispy, flavorful, and good enough that I'd return just for the shrimp. The customer service was also excellent. They were patient, friendly, and helpful while we figured out what to order. That kind of service matters, especially when you're visiting a neighborhood spot for the first time. With its proximity to Comiskey Park, I'm sure Jeff's is no secret to Chicago locals. But it rarely shows up on the national lists telling visitors where to eat in Chicago. It should. The restaurant itself has an older, small diner feel with plenty of character. Nothing fancy or manufactured for tourists, just a longtime neighborhood spot serving really good food. Chicago has plenty of famous restaurants. Jeff's Red Hots deserves to be one of the places visitors hear about before they arrive.

The saurcrout on the everything dog was really good. Service was great and fast. Place was a clean classic hotdogs stand. I liked the old sports cart vending machine for a quarter. The bad The dogs are the smaller Vienna beef dogs for a 12.00 1 dog combo w fries and a small drink out the door. At that price point raise it a dollar and get the 1/4 lb dogs. The drinks were Pepsi products which i personally avoid.

After looking over the menu, I had it narrowed down to a couple of burgers, then the lady told me about the Burger of the Month named "Good Night Irene" which has a panko breaded crab cake with pico de gallo and a spicy remoulade on top of half pound in-house chuck and pork belly blend burger patty. Thats all I needed to hear, so I order the burger and the garlic Parmesan fries. While I waited for my food, I noticed how cool the place was. Rock and Roll memorabilia all through the restaurant. They had a Heart concert playing on the screens. Even the bathroom had rock and roll quotes on the walls. I received my food and after the first bite I was in burger nirvana. The crab cake was crisp and seasoned well. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium. They combined for one hell of a delicious bite. The remoulade and pico de gallo had a nice zip that pulled the entire burger together. The garlic Parmesan fries were crisp and fluffy with just the right amount of garlic and Parmesan. My food also came with a delicious Almost Famous butter cookie. It would have been awesome with a milkshake. They have milkshakes on the menu, but I didn't order one. At the end of my meal I had to tell the gentleman behind the counter that it was an awesome burger. All in all, great burger, great service, great music and a great vibe. I'm looking forward to the next Burger of the Month.

It was so juicy, the bun was toasted nicely, and the blueberry compote gives the perfect sweetness to the burger. The fries were very good too, nice and crispy! The chocolate milkshake is delicious, it's made with chocolate icecream, so it's super chocolatey. Service was wonderful, easy, and our orders were correct. We sat outside, seating was abundant, and overall a perfect experience. We will recommend this place to family & friends for sure!

Due to my job sending me all over the Chicagoland area, I eat at many different Popeyes locations ranging from some in the west side to some in more 'uppity' neighborhoods. That being said, this is the ONLY location I have come across in the entire city where the chicken sandwich combo is $3 whole dollars more than any location. For an extra $1+ tax you can get a whole sandwich at one of the other locations at $3.99 for the sandwich. Even the near downtown locations are cheaper. I'm not trying to be petty but if you think you are special enough to charge extra, then at least throw in a larger drink, larger order of fries, and wipe down those soda sticky cups. Since making the discovery that they charge more for the same item, I have stopped ordering at this location. Not to mention that every time they hand you your drink your hands get sticky because they can't even wipe down the cup after they spill soda all over it. Other than that, the standard of food matches that of any other Popeyes and service is typical fast food service, not bad but not amazing.
