I come here a couple times a year and it can be a good or mediocre experience. The food is always great. Hot and fresh. Their fish is perfectly done, always. The service though, is hit or miss. I wouldn't recommend going there if the line is 2 or more cars or you'll likely wait a while before you eat. I like Long John Silver's once in awhile. I mean, I guess I like fried fish once in awhile, but I don't really want to go get it someplace fancy and pay a lot for it. I used to enjoy all you can eat fish at Old Bag of Nails, but I just don't go there anymore. Do they even still do AYCE? LJS is its own thing. And when I saw the horrible reviews and very low stars here, I hesitated. But then I went and looked at all the other LJS locations in the area, a couple of which I've been to, and they all get horrible reviews. And I know that at least a couple of them are decent. Again, it's Long John Silver's. It's not high quality, English pub fish and chips. It's cheap fried fish. It's an occasional guilty pleasure. Most locations are paired with a Kentucky Fried Chicken, so you can get chicken of all sorts, plus fish, plus the sides. You can mix and match from both menus. I got a combo: one fish, one chicken, two shrimp. Comes with a couple of hush puppies, which I liked more as a kid. And a side, and I kind of like KFC's slaw. The fish and chicken and shrimp were pretty good; at least, on point for LJS. If I'm rating them against the best fried fish I've ever had, they are definitely on the bottom half of the scale. But as fast food, fried food, cheap food, they're not bad. The coleslaw was fine. The drink, Midnight Madness or whatever their yellow Mountain Dew version is, was horrible. I think the drink tastes bad plus the mix was off. Oh, and no crunchies. None! I've noticed fewer and fewer the last couple of years, but dang. And the whole experience, well, the heat wasn't working in their building. They were kind of slow considering they weren't busy. Friendly, and the order was accurate. Price was actually reasonable: $10 for a lunch combo. It wasn't bad. It wasn't great. Which pretty well sums up LJS. Cheap, fast, okay fish. That's what I wanted and I got it. read more

We went to Long down here on Harrisburg Columbus, Ohio that was the worst fish I've ever had in my life. It was burnt to a crisp. The hush puppies didn't even have a center. They burnt. They smell place needs to be shut down if it wasn't for the fact that I was at work I would've went back down there and demanded my money. truly deserve zero stars. read more

And when i was eating i heard him on the phone with this girl named Ashley he was screaming about her taking too much ozempic. It is a Long John Silver's and a KFC in one. It is a little slow service wise. But usually the food is good. We have gotten some wrong stuff in the past, so make sure you check your meal before you leave. Good thing we checked, we didn't get our hush puppies. We had to go back but it was worth it, they gave us 4 hush puppies. The fries were super hot and KFC wedges...yummy. Everything else is super hot too. Can't wait to get to the house to eat it. corruption is the only thing I can say.. fish is usually very greasy, you can wring it out.. Got me one of those little 1.75 lemon cakes and was charged 5.49... This is not the first time they have done it to me, guaranteed, it will be the last... There is a sign, says if you cant hear well, pull ahead... so, after waiting 10 minutes in line, I just went up to the window... no one came to it.. maybe another 5 minutes, manager came up and refused to let me even speak... just told me to go get in line.. So, I did.. but it was at another restaurant... One on Harrisburg Pike SUX.. I recommend any other restaurant over this specific one. read more

I had been craving Long Johns and found this place on Yelp. I should have paid attention to the reviews. The food was cold, had too much breading, and obviously had been sitting in a warmer for awhile. Since I went through the drive through I didn't discover how bad the fish and shrimp was until I got back to my hotel. I won't be going to this location ever again. read more

The food is ok IF you don't find short black hairs in it. I found them in 2 different coleslaw's on the same visit. The dining room is filthy at best. None of the tables are clean. The staff just drag themselves from one place to another with out any concern of waiting customers. The little girl at the counter is way more interested in her 4 friends that are hanging out around the counter than serving customers. I'll pass on this lunch option from here on out. Maybe dump the staff or find new management that can teach these kids how to do their jobs. read more
