Something is seriously wrong with this restaurant. We stopped in because we havnt had long john silvers in a long time. The staff at this restaurant all need to be fired or this place needs to close down. Its an active health code violation. We waited in the lobby with other customers for someone to take our order, no one ever came out after 15 minutes so we started to use the phone app while others left. We started to look around and realized that every single table was filthy and the trash was piled up a foot over the trash bins. We found an ear wig bug sitting on the counter doing a death roll. Really weird. I wish I took pictures. I cant imagine how disgusting the kitchen must be. It looks nice on the outside. If you roll through the drive through youd have no idea how gross this place is. Service is slow. Food is ok, but don't ask for a cup for water unless you want to pay $2.79 for it. The family of 4 after us all walked out after they found out they were being charged for a ridiculous price for a water cup. That's a very short-sighted, terrible way to do business. read more

I went when they reopened in early December 2024. The fish pieces were about the size of hash browns and were a disgusting change from the LJS food I had in the early 1970s. I swore off LHS after that meal. What a sad experience. read more

West main Street in Kalamazoo mi location is the dirtyst fast food place I've been in food left on tables, food on floor. Service was slow it took 45min to get my food. The food was cold ,the fish was so greasy it laid in the grease in my plate. read more

Shequari was fantastic! I have NEVER had this level of customer service at a fast food restaurant. EVER! After serving patrons, she checked at every single table to ensure everyone had what they needed and that the food was good. Further, she constantly kept busy making sure the dining area was swept and clean. If I was a business owner, I would literally try and steal her as an employee -she was EXCELLENT! The manager or whoever was in charge of cooking didn't alert the cashier that cheese was out. She was standing right next to the cashier and didn't say anything! I thought they had forgotten to put cheese on my food so I went back to tell them Now, the manager/ cook said that oh, we are out of cheese. She should have let me know when the cashier was taking my order! They charged me extra for cheese and refused to refund the money. It's not about the money but the principle! The service wasn't the greatest at first with the girl being a bit blah. But then she complimented my boots. The food was hot and cooked wells. The hush puppies tasted like they used to. Happy we have one here in Kalamazoo, I called to do carry-out, no answer. Drove down and had no choice but to do the drive thru. Taking a very long time to place the order at the menu only to find that you could not place an order unless you drove up to the window. We had to wait for each persons food to cook. My wife , daughter,grand daughter and myself went there for dinner tonight. It's all you can eat fish or dinner. What a shit show. There must have been 15 other people there eating. Our food came out after a half hour wait our food came out raw. The seating was filthy and the tables were covered in yuck. As were eating I watched 3 tables get the wrong food and switch plates for 10 minutes. It took almost 40 minutes to get seconds,we were afraid to order more. The other people there were getting extremely angry. The show was about to begin. Then we had the pleasure of hearing "we're out of batter"then the same idiot announced "we're out of fish". WTH. Awful service. I pulled up at the drive thru window on a Fri 4:30 p.m. There was one car in front of me. When I want to place my order , the gal says drive thru window closed come inside. SO I go inside and ask why. She says we only have 3 people working. I talked to the manager and she is useless. I waited over 20 mins for my 2 fish dinners. They had no food prepared . Every few months I crave fish and made the mistake of thinking that this Long John Silver's on West Main Street may have gotten their act together. Nope. I bought two pieces of fish there today and got a few ounces of fish for lunch because the batter was not edible. It was thick, half-cooked and grease soaked. I guess the business model now is to use half the amount of fish, dip it multiple times in batter so it looks bigger and fry it up! Gross. read more

I really, really love the battered chicken, crab cakes, fries, and so on. The food is so crispy, Golden, and the right amount of greasy as well. I wanted to try for the first time to actually eat in the restaurant itself. Totally not what I'm used too at all. The floor are very, very greasy. Like someone dropped grease and slid around in it EVERYWHERE. And who knows maybe it's supposed to be like that. I've just never experienced actually almost falling for my meal. It confused me, because the rest of the area actually looked clean. So if I'm just missing a known trademark, excuse my rant on the greasy floor. Now on to the bathroom. Which also had the signature greasy floor, I was over that when I found out the door didn't lock! No matter how many times I tried. The lock was just not letting me have my privacy. Staff knew and were gonna fix it soon. It's so nice and cute inside, but I guess I just don't want to slide up to the counter and order. And I want to lock the bathroom door definitely. Hush puppies + greasy fish + tasty chicken = HAPPINESS I will readily admit that I think I enjoy Long John Silver's (or LoJo's as we call it) more out of routine, nostalgia, familiarity, and convenience, than on actual taste. It's good for what it is, being a fast food seafood joint. If you were to compare it to an actual seafood restaurant, then that just wouldn't be fair. It is what it is, and I like it. If it isn't too busy, we'll eat inside. Otherwise, we'll go through the drive-thru, park in front of the U Tan tanning salon, and watch all of the freakishly orange people walk in and out. Best show in town. I wish I could review U Tan and give them 5 stars for the awesome show that their clientele puts on, but seeing as I've never actually used their services, that wouldn't be fair of me. read more

Orders 2 # 12 I did not receive the chicken in either one of my meals at six pieces of chicken took me several days to get anybody to answer the phone talk to the district manager she took my name down and said I could come in and get my meals again for free one in there tonight and it's been approximately 3 to 4 weeks since this happened and the manager told me that they wipe their books clean after a month and then she told me they wipe their books clean after three weeks and that I would need my receipt such bullshit more than half of my meal and two meals was missing i've been going to that place for 40 years with my family and supporting them not anymore they're stealing your food and their company is doing nothing about it I read the reviews other people were complaining about not getting their food and being called liars and I just can't believe that during our time of Covid that the customer service and accuracy of orders is not of importance to this company I for one will never spend another penny with them and I hope you guys heed my warning and go somewhere else people are fighting to keep the restaurants alive and these guys are just ripping off the American people. Drive up window lady at 8:01PM on March, 25 2018, was the nicest, most accommodating person ever....even though my tastebuds changed three times before I got to the window. They were sooooo busy & performed their duties great. They were fast, courteous & accurate. I've never been there when they were so rushed. They were great. I just left there and I was so disappointed. I use to get food there on my way home so when I saw LJS I thought yes!! Let me tell you when we walked into the place there was a haze in the air and the smell was awful. I should have turned around and left at that time. We ordered and when it was brought to our table the fish had been overcooked to a point it was almost burned. The breading was disgusting. The only good thing was the hush puppy and coleslaw. I should have traveled further north and gone to Chicken Coop for good fish. Now I need a shower to get the smell off me. read more

I visited this location the other day and placed my order through the drive through and told the cashier that I had a coupon. After ordering, the cashier never responded to let me know that she heard my order (and at the time, there were people outside working on the speaker so I wasn't sure if she had heard me) so I very politely said "hello?" After sitting there for 2 minutes and no response. The girl at the window raised her voice to me and said "ma'am can you just wait? I'm can't find this coupon and I'm trying to help you out!" In a very nasty and rude tone. Needless to say I pulled off without even completing my order. I tried calling to complain to a manager about my experience and no one answered the phone. I called corporate and no one returned my phone call. I worked at ljs for many years and frequented this establishment, but after this experience, I will never return to this location. read more

I like their food. I've been here twice and the first time, the guy was nice and professional. Asked if our food was good. Second time we went through the drive thru and the ladies had an attitude from the moment she opened her mouth at her speaker. We came to the window and there was two ladies and didn't say a word to us. She took the card, rolled her eyes, gave it back and went to the back. They came back looking at each other after looking at us and started giggling like we looked stupid or something. They gave us our food, still not a word to us. Didn't give us a receipt, so we asked for it. Still no word to us. Not an ok or anything. Literally silent to us. They closed the window and got the manager to get stuff to print. Both girls still looking at each other with the stupid grins and eyes rolling so hard in the back of their heads. Finally, get our receipt. Still no word from anyone. I like their food but hate their attitudes. Probably won't come back. I'll find a different location with better attitudes. read more
