Service was horrendous, food was bad. Waited 10 minutes in the drive-thru and 25 minutes for the food. The girl who took my order could not possibly have been more rude. There was only one car ahead of me at the drive-thru, and yet it took 10 minutes. I ordered a fish meal and was told to pull ahead to the "front of the store". 25 minutes later, the same girl saunters out with my order. I asked if there was an explanation for the long wait, and she angrily said that there was an order ahead of mine, fish takes 10 minutes, and I was parked in the wrong spot. We have different opinions as to what is considered the front of the store, however, from where I was parked, I could see both doors and she was not looking for me. I've been there twice at 9PM and it was closed. The staff told me that LJS (which is inside the KFC building) is closed and always closes earlier. Yelp refuses to change the hours, I dunno why. Just call and ask them. The hours on their restaurant sign DO say 10PM so I can't take a picture of the real hours... but that is false and the LJS refuses to change it. Getting it correct would help a lot of people not waste their time because Maricopa is small town with lots of commutters, travelers, vacation and temp workers. Many people only visit for days-months at a time and expect the very few places advertised to be open when they say they are. Please, please...please correct the hours. read more

I used to eat occasionally at LJS before bad management wrecked the chain and wanted to try the fish again at this KFC with a LJS menu. When I tried a few days ago I was told they were out of fish (!) Today they did, after waiting over ten minutes for the understaffed store to finally recognize me at the counter. After a pretty long delay the food was ready. The fish was edible, obviously overcooked shade of brown, fries disgustingly chewy from too old cooking oil. While I ate in the store some employee yelled at the top of their lungs at another one. The bathrooms are poorly maintained - my young daughter wouldn't use them in disgust at the filthy appearance and smell. Food was ok for fast food restaurant. They were overwhelmed. Not enough staff to assist. This establishment was very busy as it is a KFC/Long John Silvers combined with LJS being the least ordered. Even though they were bogged down, they still acknowledged customers and had smiles on their faces. They were kind. Some of the customers a little agitated but calm because of the wait to place their orders. I would say the restaurant would appear clean with an exception of two groups of customers leaving their garbage on the tables. They left for the staff to clean up after them. read more

I normally enjoy writing 5 star reviews but this must be said. I have been in there twice to get Long John Silvers because you rarely find one anymore. Both times they are not busy, but the few employees there do not seem to want to engage customers and only each other. Today, my daughter and I went in and I was hopeful about getting dinner there. No one was up front and the dining room was empty. We glanced toward the back and saw someone look right at us and then look away. A minute or so later someone else walked up to the front but went straight to the drive-through window for a moment and then went back to the back again. At that point, we decided if they won't even acknowledge us, there is no point. So we left and went to the next place next door to get dinner. There were no other customers and no cars in the drive through but the few employees there were all huddled in the back and much more interested in whatever was happening back there. We ordered a family meal package. Everything was burnt, dry and tough. The chicken wasn't consistent in size. There were some tiny pieces. The coleslaw looked soupy but was good. Mac and cheese was good too. The Service was ok but the workers were playing around a lot in the kitchen. I could hear lots of yelling, cussing and laughter and people running around. Went in today and ordered some fish with an extra piece of chicken. Order took a bit to cook, but didn't mind as everything was fresh. Only problem was that I subbed fries for extra hushpuppies and they only gave me two extra. I've been to other locations and they've given me atv least six, or eight extra in place of fries. Going to set the scene here, it's 6:50 when we pull in. This is a KFC and LJS crossover. I'm in a wheelchair so we spend a few moments deciding on our order, it's for 6 people so kind of large. E get to the counter, the KFC closes at 10 (later than the LJS anyway). At 6:55, we come in to place our orders and are informed that because the LJS side closes at 7, they aren't taking any more orders for Long John's. We left rather puzzled. See the fryers weren't going off for hours, we were told they stopped taking orders for LJS at 6:30... what a waste. I truly hope the store shuts down on account of pure lazy workers. I'll drive across town to the one in Chandler before coming here EVER. Just period, waste of time, gas, and I would wager given the laziness the good is likely cared for the same way the store and customers are considered, a burden. If 0 stars was an option I would give it. After standing in the lobby at 5:30 pm for about 10 minutes they informed everyone that the lobby was now closed and to basically fudge off. Oh but the drive through was open... but you can't order LJS via the drive through. Is this plave a drug front, or some other equally outlandish thing?More than one occasion they have been out of chicken, each order has to be checked at each visit to make sure you've gthing More? What you ordered... the place frequently doesn't even serve half their menu, and is out of many menu items on a regular basis. This is a long string if events that makes me wish for new, professional, management... I mean how, as a business do you stay in business when you don't serve half your menu most of the time (or ever through the drive through) tell waiting customers at dinner time to sod off, and run out of your staple item (chicken), and stay in business. Stopped by here for an early lunch heading out of town. It was on the way. I ordered some fish and cole slaw, Nashville Hot Chicken Tenders, and my wife ordered the fish and shrimp platter. Apparently they only had 4 pieces of shrimp left so they offered her an extra piece of fish. I'll say up front the food was fine. It's taste and prep were consistent with any other in the chain. My problem was with the cleanliness of the joint once we sat waiting for our food and I started looking around. I worked and even managed fast food restaurants a few decades ago and spent 20 years in the Military so I naturally notice things. The windows were plagued with greasy handprints, as well as the glass panels displayed in the lobby. Window sills were disgusting and dusty, and the caps on the hot sauce bottles were crusted over and have probably never been cleaned since opened. I'm pretty sure it's the law that condiment bottle caps have to be sanitized daily, but even if it's not a law it should be done. The vinegar bottles were greasy and 3 of the 4 had no lid. The racks they sit in were disgustingly dirty and the one I grabbed was a bit broken. The worst part was the men's restroom. Judging by the gross unkempt condition of the sink, toilet, walls, and floors I am guessing the employees, who were standing around gossiping near the drive-thru, have no idea they have a men's restroom. I don't have to guess about the work ethic of the employees that work there, it's either bare minimum or poor management, or both. I usually recommend people go despite my critique, but the only people I recommend visiting this place is the health department. read more

While waiting in line at this location for 5 mins while nobody was in line with me there were multiple people in the back not doing anything. The manager I assume told me to hold on. While holding NOBODY still didn't come. Finally someone comes out the back ask me what I wanted to order and before I ordered I asked the gentleman do I get something off my bill since I waited 5 mins then still stayed. Manager said NO. Got so upset that I didn't order the wings I wanted too. Then while waiting the music in the back was not only loud but had cursing in it. So let's backtrack u had a customer service wait 5 mins, didn't accommodate him for waiting at your establishment, had loud music playing with cursing then there was a wait on the chicken. If there was another long John silvers in Maricopa I'll definitely go to it. If you can avoid this location please do. I actually want to give ZERO stars. This place is an absolute JOKE!! Today I waited for an HOUR (1 person in line ahead of me) for an order to go for 2. I walked inside because you can't order long johns from drive thru...(another major flaw). After 40 minutes they gave me my order (or AN order) which wasn't even remotely close to what I ordered... had to wait longer (which amounted to an hour). Employees are unhelpful , lethargic, lazy, and have zero customer service skills. A lady came in who had been parked (with her 87 yr old mother in the car) waiting for 40 minutes for food from the drive thru. Every time I go there it's the same exact experience... I will never be back. I strongly encourage everyone in Maricopa to boycott this place so maybe the owner/manager will finally rub his/her 2 brain cells together and realize how much of a massive problem this place is. Well.... things have not gotten much better than the last reviews. The servers were very pleasant and attentive. But we were the only customers they were filling in order for.... we ordered regular chicken and got extra crispy plus it was overcooked and dried out. We ordered extra crispy tenders and got regular. They had limited sauces for the tenders. We ordered two jalapeños which did not make it into the bag. All in all... On Monday, 1/22/18, a friend and I stopped at LJS for light lunches of fish and a side dish. My piece of fish was about as dark brown as it could get and not be black, as in burned. It was awash in grease. My friend's fish was just the same. We returned them to the counter and each of us got new pieces of fish, cooked to the appropriate golden color, but still practically floating in grease. We ate and exited as quickly as possible. A couple was leaving as we were. They, too, had been given the near blackened fish, and asked for a re-do. They were told there was a problem with the fryer and no more fish would be available. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!! This filth hole forever ruined my love for Long John's Silvers! We were the only people in their on a Saturday afternoon so we should have got the hint. We just moved to Maricopa so we didnt know that the entire city knows not to eat here. The restaurant is beyond dirty. There were greasy hammers and nails laying on top of the front counter as they were probably doing repairs in the back, layers of grime on EVERYTHING from the soda machine, table tops, floors....and the only ketchup bottle they had in the entire restaurant was almost empty and had layers of crust on the top of it. The tray with our food on it was dripping with dirty water and after we used it (my husband put his eaten chicken bones on it), they grabbed it and wiped it with a napkin and threw it back on the stack! No washing!!! This place needs to be shut down!!! Thankfully we didnt get food poisoning but I recommend NO ONE eat here if they care about their health! I'm serious! The lady at the cashier leaves to go back to the food prep area and doesn't say a word on how long, or even apologize for the delay...Nothing. There is no mgmt presence because if there was, they need to be ripped for the shoddy work going on. I saw 9-11 people leave because it was taking too long at the order window.
