First of all, when we pulled up, there were people in street clothes standing outside the door smoking weed, it was that chronic too! Much to our surprise, the people followed us inside and went behind the counter and the kitchen and walked up to the counter and said, "Wachu wan?" I had to bite my tongue. The employees are beyond rude, they're contemptible! I have never seen such lazy employees. The restaurant was filthy, every table had food left on it from earlier guests. Should have walked out then, but we still gave it a chance cause we were craving good LJS fish! The food? Terrible, over cooked and dry as a bone fish, fries that have clearly been "re-fried" (IYKYK) The hush puppies tasted like they had been soaked in old oil. My brother went to pick up my order. He got there and my order was a large root beer float, fish and chicken meal with 6 hushpuppies and 3 piece shrimp. They were off the start rude and were out of all drinks but sprite and unsweetened tea and hushpuppies. My root bear float was 4.59 and my total was $19.89. I didn't get my drink , puppies and my food was not good at all. There was also very little rice. What's great about an a chain restaurant is consistency. Happily I have always experienced Long John silvers hand battered fried fish to be fried crispy, golden in color, tender and flaky. The French fries were hot and crispy. The hush puppies (seasoned corn meal batter) were fried golden brown on the outside and light and fluffy inside- yum. So many issues: store is filthy and falling apart. I mean, FILTHY! from the floor, to the chairs and tables to the drink station/condiments. Looked like what was wiped down was done with a dirty rag. At one point there were 6 people waiting for their food plus the drive through. We went ahead and waited for our food despite the filthy environment because it would have taken longer to get a refund bc of the line. I prayed the food would taste fine. My chicken was so over cooked, it was like chicken jerky. The fries were not warm bc who knows how long they had sat out. Not only understaffed but no real sense of urgency. One man waited 10 min to be helped at the registered. He finally asked a lady to take his order and she just stared at him. He asked again and she finally took his order and get the line moving. They no longer serve Cole slaw nor cocktail sauce. The French fries may or may not have been fried in state fair oil. Nasty. The green beans smelled like a porta potty. I went into this location just to ask about a job, but they assumed I was a customer, probably because of my attire. The lights were off, the door was open, money was out, and no one greeted me with a "Welcome to Long John's." I used to work on Lincoln before the Asian man passed away, for years. After five minutes, the lights came on, but still no acknowledgment from the manager or front staff. The manager looked right at me, then walked out the back door. The front staff, busy with coleslaw, never even turned around. Honestly, if I were important, I would have fired everyone there. As I was leaving, I rang the bell just for the heck of it. Outside, the manager was in the parking lot getting high--the only employee I saw in all black not working on coleslaw. With that kind of service, I'm surprised the store is still open. I don't care if they get fired; I'm just trying to find work, while these sorry excuses for customer service workers keep getting away with treating their paycheck like it doesn't matter. i was so excited to see a LJS and then the inside was closed. The drive-thru was open and I waited in line. The Food it self was good. It tasted fine. The service and the screw-up of my order and I could not get them to answer the phone was a joke. They missed half my order. I was not about to wait in that line again. They would not answer the phone and I called it a few times. The kid at the window obviously did not want to be working and when I did ask for extra vinegar he said it was in the bag and it was not. It's been a while back but when I was there I always go through the drive-thru one of the employees seemed to be in full sycosis and other employees were trying to continue without him. The food was hot and good sometimes the workers are not exactly nice but the food always seems to be good. the store looks pretty bad I wonder if the Health department has everything up to code. Worst LJS experience ever, just ridiculous. I had been craving LJS a while and finally decided to give in. We sat in drive through for a while and asked to just wait. It was a little over 6 minutes by the truck clock. This was extra annoying as we were meeting friends somewhere to eat a "picnic" meal. When the order was finally taken, the worker was harsh and kept speaking over me. I had to repeat the order a few times! Come on man! It aint that hard! I had to ask for vinegar a few times and then only received a couple packets before the window was sealed shut forever. I know LJS isn't know for it's five star dining. I get it. But. Horrible. Zero customer service. Not well staffed and super slammed. The drive thru was ridiculous so I went inside. All the tables that were available to sit at were nasty (they needed to be wiped down). The woman who took my order did an ok job but then sat there while the manager (I'm assuming bc she's the only one who had a clue as to what was going on) filled the orders. I ordered ONE COMBO. One. Uno. Took thirty minutes. And when I told the manager? woman I had a drink to go with my meal she was upset and demanded to see my receipt. I was issued an 'iced tea' half full with no ice. Had I not spent and entire Friends episode in there I would've said something but I didn't. McDonalds has better tea anyways and I was in and out of their restaurant in three minutes. read more

Craziest visit to fishy town! We drove from NW 59th to this location for a fried fix - the food was ok, but that is about it. Pulling around only to be greeting by a tore up menu board and sign that says, "broken order at the window," we were already worried about the quality of service and cleanliness. The staff member immediately said, "you're going to need to hold on," as soon as we got to the window. After about 5 minutes, she took our order. To no avail, their credit card machine was not working. Another 5 minutes passes when a young man stuck his head out and asked us if we had any cash. We didnt. Here goes another 5 minutes when the first lady said she would just ring it up on another register.. After we handed her the card, another gentleman came to the window with a sign saying no credit cards- come inside. It was very frustrating. The food was decent and the only reason for my 2 stars. I see all the commercials for LJS and it all looks very good. trouble is, if you want to go and eat at one good luck. Penn and 122nd in North OKC forget it.. you cant even get in the door. That brings me to the LJS on 29th in Del City. This is how a restaurant is supposed to be run. They are open for business. walk in or drive thru.. and everyone is friendly and attentive to your needs. I drive from Edmond to this location because the north side Penn and 122nd LJS is an absolute joke. This site will hit by Midwest Wrecking before you know it. Very dirty dining area and drink station. Came at 2:30 and there was only one other customer in store. Plenty of time to clean.. Food was hot and freshly prepared. They were out of cocktail sauce AND vinegar, two essential condiments for a LJS. I was given a free large drink to "make up" for it. Front counter employee was covered in tattoos and piercings and poorly groomed but was very friendly and tried to be accomodating. Cleanliness is a big deal to me. This doesn't even deserve a star. The location on Douglas is TRASH AND EXTREMELY RUDE. I just went and had a 50+ dollar order. The 45 min wait was expected. But the 45 min wait and not getting everything I ordered and complete attitude after going back for my order was unacceptable. Got home to realize no fries were given like asked just a shit ton of hushpuppies. Check orders very well when going there. They lost my service. I will never return. read more
