I waited in line for their food truck at the Juneteenth festivities and was highly disappointed. The line was long and moving slowly. Not a big deal since this was a large event. However after waiting in line for 30 mins, there's one more person ahead of me ordering and I witnessed a mess. The lady taking the orders was eating the fish! Then made an announcement that she's backed up with orders and needs to fry more so she wasn't taking anymore orders for a while. Adding insult to injury, she wasn't extremely rude. First off, walked in and the floor was sticky. Red Flag at the get go. Condiment bottles on the table were nasty. No fresh lemon, just packets. You get your choice of tilapia or swai. They charge you more for the tilapia. Swai is a cheap fish basically raised in a sewer, Southeast Asia. Garlic fries were sprinkled with garlic powder and not fresh! Chicken wings barely had any lemon pepper on them. I don't know what's happened to this establishment but it's gone way down hill. Off the Hook is off our list. read more

Fantastic service from. The food was stellar. I had a blackened chicken Po boy that left me excited after every bite. I finished the whole thing. The bread really makes this sandwich go. The sauce was zesty and tasty. The okra will have you popping them by the handful - or maybe that was just me. I wanted an adult beverage however was heading to work later. The wife had a patty melt. It looked great. Food is cooked to order so expect a wait. The wait is WORTH it! The ambiance is casual and inviting in my perspective. Staff cooking the food deserve a high five... Off the Hook Seafood Eatery is so so good! I tried the fried fish with okra, broccoli, and a lemonade. I came during lunch time with my toddler and we shared all of this together. My toddler loved the lemonade. It's pretty tasty. Everything else was too spicy for my little one. It is such a cute little place. If you glance you'll miss it. I never even realized it was there driving by all of these years. I have always tried it and I'm glad to get a chance to devour this deliciousness! The place with busy during lunch and a lot of people come here to meet for lunch for work so lots of people in work clothes when I went but the seating moved fast and we had a place to sit right away. Right when you walk in this place you know that they fry a lot of things because of the smell. That isn't appealing to me personally but was crowded when I went. The seating was a little odd butI guess you have to be creative when you are limited on space. I've been a fan of Off The Hook for years, but this was my first time dining in since the remodel and transition to Off The Hook Eatery--and let me just say, they did that. The place looks amazing. Clean, fresh, and welcoming with a totally upgraded interior AND a beautiful outdoor patio that really makes you want to hang out for a while. The staff was absolutely top-tier--super helpful, funny, and just made the whole experience feel easy and fun. You don't always get service with personality, but you definitely do here. They are the best! I ordered the Blackened Chicken Salad and the Grilled Fish & Jumbo Shrimp Basket with grilled asparagus as my side. I also got a banana pudding that was to die for! Everything was made fresh, seasoned absolutely perfectly, and came out hot and delicious. You can tell they seriously care about quality, and it shows. I got the fish and chips--crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside, basically how fish should be. The fries were solid too--golden, hot, and not sad or soggy. Tried the Cajun-style fried pickles and wow, those had a bold flavor. Super tangy and heavy on the Cajun spices. I could only eat about a quarter of them at a time, but if you like strong seasoning, you'll probably devour them. Washed it down with a strawberry lemonade that tasted just like it should--nothing fancy, but exactly what I wanted. The place was really clean and had this cool 60s vibe going on, which made it feel super inviting. The good- shrimp in Po Boy was tender and flavorfull. The service prompt, tables were clean. The bad- The Po Boy roll was awful. Very tough and made the sandwich a mess with the filling going everywhere. I suggest fresh rolls be delivered every day. The floor was sticky everywhere. You know what to do. read more

The inside is so disgusting and covered in grime. The floor is either really dirty or has a layer of adhesive. Your shoes stick to the floor with every step. The vents have an inch layer of dust right above the tables, the crevices of the table are filed with crumbs and little bits of trash... I feel like if you have pride in your restaurant, the cleanliness should reflect that as well...I guess it you get food through the window you won't care though.. prices are also pretty high for what you get. read more

Today they only had a limited menu. Which was disappointing because we had our eyes set on some specific menu items. Looks like their temporary menu is only for a week, so not sure how often this happens. Any who! The food was delicious! I had blackened Chicken Fries with fried okra. The chicken was juicy and seasoned well. The sriracha ranch they paired the fries and other toppings really complemented the whole dish! I would have never thought to add it. I have always recommended this place although I had never eaten there. I've always heard how good their food is. Yesterday Friday, July 2 my friend and I decided to meet for lunch at OTH. She had not ever eaten there either. We looked at the menu on the website a few days before going so we had sat in our mind what we wanted only to find out this menu was not available. They really should update the page so all would know that. I order the fries with blacked chicken. I asked for the chicken on the side and only wanted cheese, and bacon on the fries and ranch on the side. I received fries with shredded cheese that was not melted. I sent it back and over 30 minutes later, my friend had to remind them about the fries. A young man came to tell me they were making me fresh fries with melted cheese. When my order came out it looked no different than the first order I did have crumbled onions which I didn't want. I tried a couple of the fries and took the rest so that I could melt the cheese when I get home. I ended up throwing them away. My friend ordered two pieces of tilapia one fried one backed and a side. When her order came out both fish were baked. When she bought it to the cashier attention, the cashier was going to take the baked fish back and get her a fried. My friend said she would just buy the fried and she added a side. She was explaining to the cashier she wanted the add on. The cashier said she had to charge her the basket. She had to pay an extra 8 or 10 dollars for the fish she wanted, she did not make the mistake. I messaged the owners thinking maybe not a do over of what we purchased but something more besides an apology and hopes of us coming back. My friend spent over $50, an apology and come back. That is the reason I did a one start. I feel like businesses that stand behind their business and all advertising about them matter, they try to make it right! This place was off the chain, from the moment you walk in your senses are starting to make your mouth water. Their shrimp was huge, juicy and fried to perfection. The shrimp sauce they provide is a perfect addition. I also got the Frog Legs to try and was so happily surprised. Lots of tender meat, lightly fried and a golden crispy. My husband got the Fish and Shrimp basket and seafood wantons. He says the shrimp was excellent. The catfish was light and airy with a perfect tarter sauce to pair. The garlic fries were tasty and not overdone The Wantons with the sweet and spicy sauce were amazing. A long-time cajun who's tried other joints around, Off the Hook is one of the more authentic spots. That being said, I was a bit disappointed in my first try. I ordered the super smothered rice and a bowl of gumbo through doordash which seemed perfect for a rainy day. The filet of fried catfish was amazing. Big and fluffy with a crispy, flavorful corneal breading, it's the best catfish I've had in the city. The fried shrimp was delicious too. The disappointment lied in the gumbo and smothered rice. The gumbo reminded me at times of Campbell's canned soup, with the surplus of celery and dried seasoning in a watery broth that lacked depth; it was underwhelming. For the smothered rice, although a large quantity, it's upsetting that there wasn't more fish on the rice itself considering the $14 charge. It was largely a bed of rice, cheese, and a sauce that I cannot decipher by taste. I didn't finish all my meal and I'll have to force myself to enjoy it later. I'm definitely going to be trying againt as their other options seem tasty, including the dessert. Don't count Off the Hook out but be careful about your choices! read more

We decided to visit Off The Hook at the recommendation of my SIL while we were visiting OKC. We got in town Friday evening around 7pm but they close at 4pm so we decided to go for lunch Saturday. We were going to eat in but the inside was a bit small so we decided to take it home to eat with our party of 6. For all of those with us, we got the Catfish Baskets (fries & cheese grits), Crawfish Po'Boy (fries), Grilled Fish, fried okra, max & cheese, Crack Crackers, and Bread Pudding. I do not believe anyone had any issues with their food. It was all good. I would definitely consider going back again when we visit OKC! read more
