I visited Longboard Cafe after 8pm on a Thursday to get some take out. You would never have known it was 8pm because when I walked through the door the restaurant was busy and the staff were very polite! I went to the bar, sat down & was approached right away. I asked the bartender for dinner recommendations which she was happy to provide. I ordered the jerk chicken bites and the grilled chicken Cesar's Salad. It was only a 10 minute wait before my food was ready. The smell from the jerk spice was intoxicating. I made it to my hotel and open both boxes & was surprised how good the food smelled & looked. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the jerk chicken bites were on a corn/salsa combination & came with a delicious mustard sauce. I will say the Cesar salad was prepared very well- especially for take out. I would highly recommend Longboard Cafe the next time your in Ocean City. read more

It's been a couple of years since we last visited OC, a gap we never had before and only due to SARS. With our 45th Anniversary we are staying a week to relax, see the bench dedicated to our parents and see what's changed especially restaurants. This year we discovered Longboard Café and it definitely ranks as one of the best and not just in OC! When you visit a restaurant and you see the owner greet and mingle with his customers ( many who clearly have come time and time again),, as well as helping staff clear tables, you know you are in for an intimate experience and this restaurant clearly succeeds. Located on 67th Street, in small shopping mall (OC Towncenter Midtown Boardwalk) with clothing and other stores, Longboard was fortunate that it has an expanded outside seating area that spreads the length of the shopping area. It has a nice inside with tables set apart. It is noisy as many reviews have pointed out with a bar area packed. It was jam packed inside and outside Caroline G was our main server, awesome, very busy and helped by the rest of the team. She and everyone else stopped by to check on our food and the Owner came by to let us know our dishes were on their way. There is an extensive menu and I know we didn't do justice to several items listed as both appetizers and entrees. We didn't want to fill ourselves up so ordered the guac and chips. Also, some warm bread and butter was also served (so nice that unlike Northern Virginia there is no separate charge). For our main course we order the special fresh catch lime in coconut fish, my wife the mahi mahi and I had the Rockfish. Both excellent, tasty and delicious and well presented. I almost had the salmon. We were so full and about to leave when we were served a complementary dessert beautifully prepared for our Anniversary. Totally unexpected and another reason why this restaurant ranks so high. Its rare for me to give an unqualified outstanding rating but Longboard belongs in that category . After several furious rounds of putt-putt at the Old Pro next door, we were famished and needed sustenance. Longboard had open tables on their roof-covered patio and we settled in for a meal. Service was efficient and pleasant so we got our drinks and placed a food order. I was in the mood for a burger, and to try and be healthy(er) I ordered a side salad in lieu of fries or chips on the side. The cheeseburger was cooked a nice medium / medium rare and the burger itself was a combination of chuck, brisket and short rib cuts making for a very complex grilled taste. The side salad with Caesar dressing was a perfect accompaniment to the burger and the meal was very tasty and satisfying. Longboard cafe had me long in the pants! The wings were def the best in OC I've had. It had a unique flavor and paired great with the blue cheese crumbles. I get why they call it Addiction sauce, I'm currently having withdrawal symptoms! My fellow dining compatriots even brought their pup who was given a complimentary BACON! Longboard also has a sweet 2 for 1 happy hour which includes all drinks on the menu except for frozen drinks which is odd cuz there aren't frozen drinks on the menu. Perhaps there's off menu options? Which leads me to the star of the show... OFF MENU $2.50 SIDE PASTA SALAD!! That's right folks, $2.50 off menu pasta salad. Definitely worth it! They're obviously doing something right here...ten years in and it's packed early on a Friday in December. The friendly host suggested I find a spot at the bar rather than wait for a table. That worked out well since it gave me a good view of the kitchen which seemed adequately staffed and well organized but moving slowly. I came for the wings based on reviews at several sites claiming these are some of the best in these parts. They don't disappoint. Remembering the days of 10 cent wings, I continue to be amazed at the price of the things these days. And Longboard Cafe is making buck on them at $16.45 for a pound (typically 7). But this is one of the few times I felt like maybe I was getting my money's worth. The Longboard Wings are one of their signature dishes for good reason. Perfectly fried with just the right crispiness and tossed in a semi-sweet glaze, coated with a smoky "bacon dust", and topped with blue cheese crumbles. If there is such a thing as gourmet wings, this is it. The disappointments: I asked for blue cheese dressing on the side but got Ranch. I also had the tortillas with queso; the chips were indistinguishable from store-bought (though they were warm) and the queso was flavorless. Perhaps it's better as part of the "Kitchen Sink" app which includes salsa and guac with the queso. My food came pretty quickly but I noticed others waiting a while as the evening went on. Staff was friendly and attentive. Tips: make reservations on the weekend, even in the off-season. Try the wings. read more

The filet tacos were very tender , the salmon dish was acceptable by my daughter, who is very picky .. our salad was huge we actually split it 3 ways very filling .. now my husband got the catch of the day which was rockfish. Stopped here for lunch on Saturday when it was raining heavily. Usually they have outdoor seating but that was cut down due to the weather. Being a Saturday and it raining everyone was packing into stores and food places so the people in front of us were told a hour wait. Rest of my party wanted to leave but I decided to at least try and work something. I noticed one table was half inside and half outside, and offered to the hostess to take it only having a party of 3. She was nice and told me we would be in the rain to which I offered to wear a hat and sit in the rain, but she was nice and asked if we would pull up a chair - we could take a two top under the cover. Bingo. Appreciated the give and take there and being rewarded for being resourceful. One in my party ordered the chips and kitchen sink which comes with queso, salsa and guac. For the salsa they ordered the chunky which I believed to be a misstep. Guac was good - queso was also good. As part of my OC soup tour, I also ordered a cream of crab soup. This was very good - not very hot, but very tasty and good. In the usual menu panic, I ordered fish tacos - which is way out of my usual wheelhouse. They were good - would recommend them. Longboard Cafe is a spot I will visit every time I go to Ocean City. They offer distanced outdoor seating with heaters and friendly staff! Drinks: Their strawberry lemonade crush is dangerous, perfectly sweet and cannot taste the alcohol (but it's definitely there). The bumbleberry is also very good! Appetizers: Their crab pretzel is to die for. Very moist, not too salty, perfect balance between the crab and cream cheese mix. Each year at Thanksgiving time, we celebrate our Anniversary. At this time, a family that lived on the street where my wife grew up has a large family gathering at the Ocean. We get together for dinner and this year we tried out the Longboard Cafe. They gave us the upper room so we had room to eat and socialize. I'm upset that I didn't have my phone with me to get pictures of the food. I had the Pot Stickers for an appetizer and the Tequila Grilled Shrimp. Both items were delicious and well worth the price. My wife had the Scallops and she enjoyed every bite ( she must have because she didn't offer me any ). The other people at our table had the Tacos, Beef Skewers, Wings and a few other items. My family has been coming to Ocean City for 25 years and this trip was the first time we visited Longboard Cafe. Hands down one of the best meals we've had in Ocean City. We had the orange crush, addiction asparagus appetizer, queso and chips, filet dinner, Baja chicken chopped salad and Beyond burger. Everything was excellent and reasonably priced. Very nice decor inside and a little section where they sell their sauces and other items. We will definitely be repeat customers every year and even this week! read more

We had a great lunch here! It was a bit windy so we sat inside, and they have great COVID protocols in place. Food was tasty and they used really fresh, flavorful ingredients. We devoured every bite, from the amazing shrimp tacos to the ooey-gooey dessert! The only place they lost us with with the chips and guacamole appetizer. When you're paying for guacamole it needs to be a good sized-portion, we finished the guac with quite a few chips left to nosh on. The guac was decent, but needed more acid by way of a squeeze of citrus and maybe some brightness of cilantro to take it over the top. But the waitstaff was wonderful, and we saw so many other menu items we would love to try. We will definitely be back when we visit the area again. The food was amazing! Our service was not. Our waitress, Tricia, did not offer us the specials but did to the table of business women behind us. She forgot to put part of our order in, which never did arrive. Her apology was less than sincere. When delivering bills to other tables, she also handed them handfuls of after dinner candy. Not to us. It's not about the candy, it's about how she treated us, probably because there were kids at our table. We will order from here again, but only as take out. Nice little cafe with outdoor seating during COVID. The hostess was nice and our waiter was nice. The bathrooms were also clean! Ample parking in the lot right outside also. We ordered the fish tacos (half off on Mondays!) and it was crispy and well dressed. We also opted for the guacamole and it was sooo good. I tried the stuffed avocado. One comes with crab and the other tuna. The tuna was flavorful and plenty and also too much for the amount of avocado. The crab half was disappointing as it was mostly onion and barely any crab but still flavorful. Overall a really nice place and we were even offered a free refill with a lid to go! I've eaten here many times and I get the hickory bacon burger almost every time because it is the greatest bacon cheeseburger i've ever had. It's always perfectly cooked with the perfect amount of bacon and cheese. Also make sure to add the fries they are fabulous. I've also had a number of cocktails which are always very tasty. Our waiter, Jake , was perfectly nice and accommodating, but my rockfish dinner which was a "special" last evening was truly lacking. The crabmeat on top was inedible and tasted old which tainted the whole dish. The rockfish was just okay. I ended up just munching on the green beans and potatoes on the side. For $27 this was such a disappointment. The kitchen staff dropped the ball on this one. My fellow diners enjoyed their burgers and, of course, the wings were delicious. We have some favorites we like to go to when we have dinner in OC on trips, but we didn't want to repeat any of them- we wanted to try somewhere new, and I'm so glad we did! I want to first mention our server Caroline was wonderful, checked on us frequently, and knew how to answer all of our menu questions in a detailed way! :) I had read that the cucumber jalapeño margarita was good, so I ordered that. My boyfriend got the strawberry lemonade crush, and we both loved what we got! The Kitchen Sink app was a delicious take on some classic dips and sides, great chips too. I ordered the special of the day after hearing what it was- sea bass with a lemon sauce and lump crab meat, with fingerling potatoes and green beans. So so SO good! Very refreshing and light. I ate it all, lol. My boyfriend got the baja cod tacos and thought they were pretty good, but he envied what I ordered (it's okay, I shared.) We did something rare for us and we ordered dessert. We got the Fatal Brownie, which was insanely good. How do they make everything so well?!?! We fought over bites of it.... Best of all, the owner came up to our table once to greet us, and a second time when he heard it was our first time and we wanted to rave about the food. Food quality is pretty consistent unlike other restaurants where you never know if it will be a good day or bad day for them. Longboard seems to be able to maintain quality cooks and staff. We had just arrived in Ocean City and were looking for a bit to eat. Reviews were good so we decided to give this place a try, and we were not disappointed. Even though the weather was overcast and windy we decided to sit at an outside table. We started with the Jerk Chicken appetizer. The grilled chicken was juicy and seasoned perfectly. The accompanying salsa was great too. We all decided to get tacos for dinner and they were excellent, especially the Baha Tacos, which were fresh and came with tortilla chips and and salsa on the side. The two tacos were filling and fresh. I'm glad we came here and I highly recommend you give them a try.
