Maybe they were having an off day, but i was not impressed. We dropped by after wandering around the boardwalk. We were all starving and would have ate almost anything. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. Probably a mistake on my part but I love bbq. A lot of the pulled pork was still cold. It felt like they reheated it in a plastic bag, "pulled" it out, and plopped it on my sandwich. It had a good taste, but was not at an adequate level of warmth. Even worse, they forgot the coleslaw that was supposed to come on it. I would have mentioned something, but didn't realize it until we were leaving. Serving sizes were small. We left the restaurant and I was still hungry. I can't remember the last time this happened. I had a pear a few minutes after we returned to our hotel room. We also opted to try the brie and glazed pecans. Not my cup of tea but it was good. Pricey at almost $16, and they only offer a tiny loaf of bread to go with it. It wasn't nearly enough as we had lots of brie and pecans left with no bread to accompany them. I will say they do a great job with their fries and pasta salad. The fries are deep fried which gives them an amazing crunch that I love. The pasta salad was fresh and had an amazing dressing that was super tasty. read more

We come to OC once a month in the offseason and Longboard is always the first stop for lunch. Always eat at the bar with great friendly service by Rachel. The cheese dip (with warm chips) is probably the best I've had in the mid Atlantic and Tonya starts getting them as soon as she sees us walk through the door. My favorite is the Al Pastor tacos (with flour tortilla) but the jerk chicken and fish tacos are also pretty good (fish tacos are huge). Fantastic food and service but gets pretty packed during the summer. read more

My experience was mediocre! Came here for dinner on a Sunday night. I was impressed that our 90 minute wait was only 10 minutes. I definitely think this is more of a lunch spot. We ordered three cocktails, New Fashioned, Billini-tini, and the White Cranberry Cosmopolitan. For appetizers we got the cream of crab soup (very watery and bland), the asparagus (fried and served with a delicious dipping sauce), and the star of the evening, the green beans. For entree we got the surf and turf tacos, the scallop entree, and the Buddha bowl. For the most part everything was just okay. I hear the burgers here are outstanding so I'll have to come back to give one or the burgers a try. I was a bit disappointed that none of the staff said excuse when walking by. After we were seated, we were given a carafe of water with disposable plastic cups. The server didn't even offer to pour the drinks for us. She also wasn't very friendly and made very little effort to ensure we were enjoying our dinner. This is not the experience I was expecting going out for a dinner that cost me about $100. It's been a couple of years since we last visited OC, a gap we never had before and only due to SARS. With our 45th Anniversary we are staying a week to relax, see the bench dedicated to our parents and see what's changed especially restaurants. This year we discovered Longboard Café and it definitely ranks as one of the best and not just in OC! When you visit a restaurant and you see the owner greet and mingle with his customers ( many who clearly have come time and time again),, as well as helping staff clear tables, you know you are in for an intimate experience and this restaurant clearly succeeds. Located on 67th Street, in small shopping mall (OC Towncenter Midtown Boardwalk) with clothing and other stores, Longboard was fortunate that it has an expanded outside seating area that spreads the length of the shopping area. It has a nice inside with tables set apart. It is noisy as many reviews have pointed out with a bar area packed. It was jam packed inside and outside Caroline G was our main server, awesome, very busy and helped by the rest of the team. She and everyone else stopped by to check on our food and the Owner came by to let us know our dishes were on their way. There is an extensive menu and I know we didn't do justice to several items listed as both appetizers and entrees. We didn't want to fill ourselves up so ordered the guac and chips. Also, some warm bread and butter was also served (so nice that unlike Northern Virginia there is no separate charge). For our main course we order the special fresh catch lime in coconut fish, my wife the mahi mahi and I had the Rockfish. Both excellent, tasty and delicious and well presented. I almost had the salmon. We were so full and about to leave when we were served a complementary dessert beautifully prepared for our Anniversary. Totally unexpected and another reason why this restaurant ranks so high. Its rare for me to give an unqualified outstanding rating but Longboard belongs in that category . After several furious rounds of putt-putt at the Old Pro next door, we were famished and needed sustenance. Longboard had open tables on their roof-covered patio and we settled in for a meal. Service was efficient and pleasant so we got our drinks and placed a food order. I was in the mood for a burger, and to try and be healthy(er) I ordered a side salad in lieu of fries or chips on the side. The cheeseburger was cooked a nice medium / medium rare and the burger itself was a combination of chuck, brisket and short rib cuts making for a very complex grilled taste. The side salad with Caesar dressing was a perfect accompaniment to the burger and the meal was very tasty and satisfying. Others at the table enjoyed their entree salads and tacos, so everyone left here happy and full. read more

I visited Longboard Cafe after 8pm on a Thursday to get some take out. You would never have known it was 8pm because when I walked through the door the restaurant was busy and the staff were very polite! I went to the bar, sat down & was approached right away. I asked the bartender for dinner recommendations which she was happy to provide. I ordered the jerk chicken bites and the grilled chicken Cesar's Salad. It was only a 10 minute wait before my food was ready. The smell from the jerk spice was intoxicating. I made it to my hotel and open both boxes & was surprised how good the food smelled & looked. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the jerk chicken bites were on a corn/salsa combination & came with a delicious mustard sauce. They're obviously doing something right here...ten years in and it's packed early on a Friday in December. The friendly host suggested I find a spot at the bar rather than wait for a table. That worked out well since it gave me a good view of the kitchen which seemed adequately staffed and well organized but moving slowly. I came for the wings based on reviews at several sites claiming these are some of the best in these parts. They don't disappoint. Remembering the days of 10 cent wings, I continue to be amazed at the price of the things these days. And Longboard Cafe is making buck on them at $16.45 for a pound (typically 7). But this is one of the few times I felt like maybe I was getting my money's worth. The Longboard Wings are one of their signature dishes for good reason. Perfectly fried with just the right crispiness and tossed in a semi-sweet glaze, coated with a smoky "bacon dust", and topped with blue cheese crumbles. If there is such a thing as gourmet wings, this is it. The disappointments: I asked for blue cheese dressing on the side but got Ranch. I also had the tortillas with queso; the chips were indistinguishable from store-bought (though they were warm) and the queso was flavorless. Perhaps it's better as part of the "Kitchen Sink" app which includes salsa and guac with the queso. My food came pretty quickly but I noticed others waiting a while as the evening went on. Staff was friendly and attentive. Tips: make reservations on the weekend, even in the off-season. Try the wings. read more

Longboard Cafe is a spot I will visit every time I go to Ocean City. They offer distanced outdoor seating with heaters and friendly staff! Drinks: Their strawberry lemonade crush is dangerous, perfectly sweet and cannot taste the alcohol (but it's definitely there). The bumbleberry is also very good! Appetizers: Their crab pretzel is to die for. Very moist, not too salty, perfect balance between the crab and cream cheese mix. Their kitchen sink is a great deal and shareable if you go with 2-4 people. read more

Repeat trip to Longboard from last summer. Six of us went, all repeat customers. It is clean, it has good atmosphere, it is busy. We arrived on Labor Day with reservations a bit before Happy Hour began. They have two for one drinks from 5-6pm. We ordered the kitchen sink and green beans as appetizers. The beans were fried with Hoisin sauce and very good. The chips were fresh, guacamole was good, the queso was OK, and the salsa was like tomato soup. My wife loved her Old Fashioned drinks, my beer could have colder. Everyone ordered a variety of food. The two salmon BLT's, one with romaine for the shell, were reportedly very good. My wife enjoyed her burger and really liked the side of pasta salad. I think I am just a little more particular about my burger though. I suspect it was previously frozen and not fresh and it was dense, as if it was pressed. The lettuce, tomato and red onion were good. The fries had a good flavor but they were all stuck together though; if you picked up one, you instead had 3-6. Everyone else enjoyed the food and drinks, so we will be back. Mine was just OK. I will just have to remember not to order the burger and fries. I should mention that the waitress got everything correct and was pleasant. She just had too many tables and maybe that was why the drinks took a while and my beer was sweating profusely. read more

Longboard cafe had me long in the pants! The wings were def the best in OC I've had. It had a unique flavor and paired great with the blue cheese crumbles. I get why they call it Addiction sauce, I'm currently having withdrawal symptoms! My fellow dining compatriots even brought their pup who was given a complimentary BACON! Longboard also has a sweet 2 for 1 happy hour which includes all drinks on the menu except for frozen drinks which is odd cuz there aren't frozen drinks on the menu. Perhaps there's off menu options? Which leads me to the star of the show... OFF MENU $2.50 SIDE PASTA SALAD!! That's right folks, $2.50 off menu pasta salad. Definitely worth it! There was a special going on for half-price tacos so we opted to have those, as well as an appetizer. We had a great lunch here! It was a bit windy so we sat inside, and they have great COVID protocols in place. Food was tasty and they used really fresh, flavorful ingredients. We devoured every bite, from the amazing shrimp tacos to the ooey-gooey dessert! The only place they lost us with with the chips and guacamole appetizer. When you're paying for guacamole it needs to be a good sized-portion, we finished the guac with quite a few chips left to nosh on. The guac was decent, but needed more acid by way of a squeeze of citrus and maybe some brightness of cilantro to take it over the top. But the waitstaff was wonderful, and we saw so many other menu items we would love to try. We will definitely be back when we visit the area again. Nice little cafe with outdoor seating during COVID. The hostess was nice and our waiter was nice. The bathrooms were also clean! Ample parking in the lot right outside also. We ordered the fish tacos (half off on Mondays!) and it was crispy and well dressed. We also opted for the guacamole and it was sooo good. I tried the stuffed avocado. One comes with crab and the other tuna. The tuna was flavorful and plenty and also too much for the amount of avocado. The crab half was disappointing as it was mostly onion and barely any crab but still flavorful. Overall a really nice place and we were even offered a free refill with a lid to go! Each year at Thanksgiving time, we celebrate our Anniversary. At this time, a family that lived on the street where my wife grew up has a large family gathering at the Ocean. We get together for dinner and this year we tried out the Longboard Cafe. They gave us the upper room so we had room to eat and socialize. I'm upset that I didn't have my phone with me to get pictures of the food. I had the Pot Stickers for an appetizer and the Tequila Grilled Shrimp. Both items were delicious and well worth the price. My wife had the Scallops and she enjoyed every bite ( she must have because she didn't offer me any ). The other people at our table had the Tacos, Beef Skewers, Wings and a few other items. Everyone was very happy with their food choices. I would highly recommend this location if you are looking for a good meal. read more
