Food quality is pretty consistent unlike other restaurants where you never know if it will be a good day or bad day for them. Longboard seems to be able to maintain quality cooks and staff. Often an OC restaurant opens with rave reviews, but within a few years declines. That is not the case with Longboard Cafe. This place is consistently great! We love the blistered green beans and the salmon is A+. My husband loves their shrimp crowns. Happy hour 2 for 1 is a bargain! As a appetizer we ordered a simple queso and chip combo. Expecting it to be ordinary, it was amazing! The chips were warm, the queso was a thick but yet smoothly creamy at the same time. Larry the bartender and also our server, welcomed us warmly as he let us know that they have a fully stocked bar and afternoon specials. My lady ordered a plan water but I mistakenly ordered a royal flush, something that wasn't even on the menu. But in my awe, he knew exactly what I was talking about and made it to perfection . For lunch she citrus fire shrimp as I ordered the St Lousha burger medium- well. It came out in minutes as if it was already waiting for us! Talk about speedy service!! I took a bite out of my balsamic salad (one of many sides to choose from) it was as If - I can't describe it. Afterwards I took a chomp out of my burger and was smacked with flavor. Went to this restaurant as it was close to the hotel where I was staying. After traveling as constantly as I have for the last few years, I do not frequent the restaurant chains and try to find the local gems. In this case, we ordered 2 different types of wings. One order had the the bonzai and the other had the longboard wings. Both, we're VERY good. We also ordered the Baja salad with chicken and it was great. The frozen tropical mojito was the home run. I hadn't had anything like it and I loved it. The server was a lovely lady. She paid great attention to us and was very nice. Now, the guacamole as en extra was very small for $5 extra. It was the size of a small sauce container. However, this is not the reason why I gave it 4 stars. The 4 star review (and I thought about giving 3) was because indoor dinning had plenty of space. When I asked about a booth, the lady who walked us to our seats said "I can't sit you there". She straight up shot us down. I asked her to repeat, because it honestly caught us by surprise she would offer it. She "said I can't sit you there because we keep this for reservations". I thought it was a weird answer, but I wasn't going to make a big deal out of it. So she sat us at a high table where there was a TV low enough or the table high enough that for a minute we thought people were staring at us, people from other tables looking in our direction and people stopping right next to us at the point that the person that was there with me asked me "why are they looking at us like that". It was because people were watching a football game and the tv was right above our table. Nobody ever occupied one of the booths we requested (there were 3 on that side) while we were there. We left and walked by a while later and still they were empty. We counted 9 tables available along with the booths available. Not being petty, but thought to mention that you may not have an option in terms of seating regardless of how busy they are. Other than that, I'd definitely try this place again. read more

We had just arrived in Ocean City and were looking for a bit to eat. Reviews were good so we decided to give this place a try, and we were not disappointed. Even though the weather was overcast and windy we decided to sit at an outside table. We started with the Jerk Chicken appetizer. The grilled chicken was juicy and seasoned perfectly. The accompanying salsa was great too. We all decided to get tacos for dinner and they were excellent, especially the Baha Tacos, which were fresh and came with tortilla chips and and salsa on the side. The two tacos were filling and fresh. I'm glad we came here and I highly recommend you give them a try. Visiting OC this weekend and we decided to give Longboard a try. First, the service. our waitress Rachel was on top of her game. Helping us with speedy returns on drinks and food. she has a wonderful smile and was a pleasure to have as a server. Next, the food. we had the longboard wings and their secret sauce was simply delicious, with a sweet/tangy initial flavor, followed by a mellow heat. the wings were also very large. we ordered 2lbs and it was probably too much. Next, for me, was the BLT five ways, fully loaded. hands down one of the best BLT's I've ever had. Lastly, the doggo's! This restaurant is so dog friendly, we had 5 different dogs with us outside and it was so wonderful. The waitresses kept bringing these adorable pups water to keep cool. This is a great spot to check out if you're staying at Home2 Suites since it's a short distance to the beach. It's not as packed as some places on the boardwalk and the food is decent. You can sit outside for a open air experience. It's preferable to indoors if it isn't too hot. We came here for lunch and I enjoyed the outdoor atmosphere. I highly recommend the Mexican corn. I wish they scraped the kernels off the cob since we wanted to share one between two people but I had my handy dandy boyfriend do it with a sharp knife they offered (no judgements please). It was really tasty with the cojita cheese! I had the powerhouse wrap and it was pretty good. Not anything uber exciting, but it was a good old fashioned wrap that satisfied my hunger. It came with a side of salad or pasta salad; I got the pasta salad and it was bland. We also got the Waimea burger, and that was good. For drinks, we ordered a corona and kona longboard to quench our thirst on a hot summer day. Those were great. Service was great! I'd come back for drinks more than food, but overall it was fun. We visit Longboard a few times each season. The food is good and service can be good depending on the waitress. Happy hour (5-6) is always packed but otherwise it isn't too crowded. The only downside is the drama to get a table. Every time that we visit. Longboard is one of my favorite places in O.C. Love most of their food but the last time I ordered wings and didn't ask the server my two questions that I always ask before ordering wings... are they breaded? And is the sauce sweet? I like neither because I follow a keto. The wings I ordered were breaded and the sauce tasted like syrup. I'm sure there are people that would have loved them, but definitely not my style. Dispute my review, the food was great. The reason for this 2 star review is that I was over charged for something, brought it to my servers attention and they tried to justify it which still made absolutely no sense. I ordered the Buddha Bowl and added a beyond burger patty for more protein (I'm vegetarian). When we got the receipt, there was an $8.00 charge. I questioned why it was $8 and not the normal $3.50 up charged if you were to sub out the beyond patty in any of the burgers. To put this more into perspective, the salad was $17.95 and in average the burgers range from $15.95-$17.50. Was my meal not already expensive enough or does this establishment like to take advantage of tourists? My husbands meal (also vegetarian) was only charged $3.50 to sub out his patty. I'm honestly very disappointed in this experience and no one in our group will ever be back. read more

I was in OC for 4 days and we loved eating on the bayside restaurants that had seating like you were at the beach...However I feel you paid more $ at those places for less quality food and better atmosphere This place is in a complex next to Ron Jons Surf shop but let me tell you, the food was amazing and the best food I had all weekend on my stay. I came here about 5-6 years ago when they opened. It was really good and for whatever reason I just never made it back. Well, I'm glad that changed this vacation. The place is small and was packed. We were sat upstairs, which was actually pretty nice and a little less hectic than outside and the bar area, especially with 4 adults and 3 kids under two. Our waitress was very friendly, she did a great job with the specials and recommendations. I'm assuming the other lady that checked on us is a manager, she was also very nice and interacted with our young children and made sure our food was good and prompt. While we waited a cocktail waitress took a drink order, I had a watermelon infused tequila drink that was strong and delicious. I went with the grouper, Naw'lins style. If you've been to NOLA, it's right on point with the food down there and if that's the type of seafood you like, I'd recommend your choice of fish that style. Wife got the risotto with shrimp and it's was really good. Our 2 year old also liked it and ate 2 huge shrimp off her plate! Kids split the cheese quesadilla and fries but were really more interested in our meals and are quite a bit of them. We also started with a crab flat bread, which I would certainly recommend as a starter if you like crab, cheese, and bacon! Mmm. We also got lamb lollipops to start and I love lamb lollipops, but the sauce was kind of weird and not one of my favorites that I've had with lamb, so I would say you can skip those, or get the sauce on the side and you decide. Overall, this place has a lot of really nice food and drink options, everything from reservation to service to food was excellent and we can't wait to come back annually on the family vacation! The staff were very busy the day I stopped in as outdoor seating was full and we got a nice seat inside by the They have specials listed on Facebook by the day and a happy hour time from 5-6 B1G1. We went in on Monday, which is 1/2 burgers all day. My burger was cooked perfectly and fries were hot and fresh. I wasn't too impressed with the slaw (you can pick your side). First timer ordering carryout..likely the last. We have been going here for years but hate the reservation debacle that always comes with the dining experience. Ordered simple carryout items..burger, tacos, chips and salsa...the presentation was awful everything was a mess in the boxes..the burger was literally just all grease soaked into the bun and lacked the known flavors of a traditional longboard burger..disappointing to say the least..the tacos were one in the same..not being cruel or funny but have seen late night Taco Bell presented better. Maybe an off nite..nobody is perfect. We will surely return to Longboard but will think twice before ordering carryout..just not the same experience or taste. read more

I really enjoyed the experience I had at this place tonight. We arrived at our reservation time and had to wait about 15 mins which is no big deal. Sat outside which I was really happy about! Our server was very nice and much better then the other places we've been at here in ocean city so that's a plus. The food was very good and everyone at my table seemed to really enjoy what they ordered! I'd recommend the addictive fried asparagus! The Sauce was amazing! I ordered "the perfect margarita" and I have to be honest, it wasn't that "perfect" it was good but the grand marnier was abit overload. I didn't like that it was floated on top instead of shaken with the drink. I also got the prickly pear and thought that was a much more balanced drink! I liked that one a lot! Great apps and drinks! We called on Tuesday afternoon to make a reservation for that evening and they were all booked, but we were so intrigued by the menu that we decided to stop by around 7:30pm and try for a seat at the bar. Luckily for us there were 2 spots left! We ordered margaritas along with the crabby pretzel, ahi wonton nachos, and longboard wings. The wings were our favorite -- the bacon dust was a fun and delicious finishing touch. We enjoyed them so much we forgot to take a picture. Highly recommend!
