My wife and I vacation at the cape once a year and we try to find restaurants that have great reviews that we haven't tried before. After checking the reviews, which were good,we decided on longfellows pub. We ordered a ribeye and a strip steak. They were overcooked and tough as shoe leather. I've been a customer here for years. Prob 30. Tonight, arrived at5:56. There were 8 open tables. There were 2 of us but really didn't need to sit at a 2 spot in the aisle, and asked for a bigger table. NO. It may get busy. I looked around and 3 other tables of 2 were seated at a4 table. Sat at the bar, had excellent t service from a woman that we didn't catch her name though. We had Caesar salad with grilled shrimp - highly recommend! Hubs had the seafood special - basked stuffed medley with mashed potatoes and veg - delish. We will be back! read more

We often go to the Cape to visit family. I never noticed this place before this year. I wish I would have earlier. Very good food with generous portions. They have a great "old fashion" U shape bar which is perfect to socialize and talk to the locals. The service is good and the restaurant is very clean and cute. I only went in mid-afternoon; it had a local pub ambiance. Perfect place to hear about local news. Loved this place and will go back. read more

You may have to wait a few minutes to be seated even if you see tables open. It's a small place, but the locals keep it busy. The prices are very reasonable. The waitresses are very friendly, but busy. Service is sometimes a bit slow, but they are working as fast as they can! But it is all worth it! In my opinion these are some of the best baked scallops on the cape. I am lucky enough to own a home just down the street and I plan to eat here often. They have many specials including a prime rib that is very reasonably priced. Give it a try sometime. If sangria is on the board, order a glass. It is fabulous! But you must try the scallops! Yes, it's a local place. WHEN you can get food, it's fairly good. I will say the Prime Rib is a 5. The sides are - 3. Soups 2. Service? 1. The fact that they NEVER answer the phone? 0. The fact that when you ARE a local, and if you were treated with respect and courtesy, you would give them weekly business, also bring many people in, but they are always rude, when and if they actually answer the phone, you happen to go in, a negative 5. Excellent food in an unassuming location. Not hard to find in this modern age but you need to know it exists before anything. Chowder is great, seafood platter was awesome and the wait staff is very friendly and helpful. Not sure of the days it's offered but the prime rib special looked very good and I watched two people devour a King and Queen size portion in under 15 mins. Bar life was steady and jovial, everyone seemed to know everyone but lots of "non-locals" came in for dinner as well. read more

We travel A LOT. Finding out of the way, local gems is always a highlight. That's what I was hoping for this place. Although it wasn't horrible, the prices for quality of food just ended up in severe disappointment. The filet was under seasoned and over cooked. The fries were hard and had no salt. Marinara sauce was half sugar. Clam chowder was good but was half cold when it came out. The kids meals are cute on Frisbees but $10 for a cup of craft mac n cheese that needed salt is a little insane. We have had a few good meals on the cape so far this week but this is one place we won't be coming back to. read more

Haven't been here in over 4 years. We decided to try in now that there are new owners. We ate at the bar so we could play keno. The bartender was a sweetheart and very attentive. The waitstaff seemed very friendly and helpful. I had the lemontini and it was delicious. I ordered the sliced prime rib sandwich with au jus. I am very picky about my roast beef sandwiches and this one was one of the best I've had. The au jus was very flavorful. My husband had one of the specials for that day, stacked short rib. It was like a bowl meal with mashed potatoes and corn. There were a lot of items on the menu that we would get. Would definitely go back. read more

We had the scallops and prime rib - both were great and with a couple drinks and tip still came in under 85$. Service was exceptional and the owner came by and chatted for a few minutes. Came here for a Sunday brunch. Service was SLOW. We waited about 20minutes for a server to take our order. The food took another 45-50minutes to arrive. This is a great spot - definitely a locals hangout. Half of the place is a large bar with friendly faces and great conversation. The other half is the restaurant side (though you can order food on both sides). Our server's name was Jackie and she was so wonderful. Kind, funny, fast! Our glasses were never empty and she checked on us quite often. The locals raved over the prime rib special. I loved their calamari strips - so delicious. Wish I was eating them now! Played golf at Bayberry, this place was a stone's throw away. Easy to miss if your not looking. Local watering hole with friendly staff and customers. Generous drinks and awesome food. We had chicken piccata and chicken Lombardi. Highly recommend both. read more

Just horrible. Nothing went right tonight. Arrived just before shift change. Got the smallest cocktail I've ever had outside of an airport. I can live with that, but then the bartender proclaimed she was punched out and everyone would have to wait for her replacement. One hour and 15 minutes after we sat down, our meals arrived. They claim to be a "steakhouse" yet my Prime Rib was totally gray while ordered medium. My partner's sliced tenderloin special was cooked to death, completely gray and tough as can be. Almost forgivable except it was presliced so the kitchen could see they missed the temp ordered by a mile. As we waited so long to get it, she wouldn't send it back. No one asked how our meals were because it was obvious the kitchen killed the meat on both. I showed the bartender the horrible piece of meat after our meal and she promptly refunded, but still, just horrible. read more

The ambiance is nice, but our waitress was rude beyond words. I mentioned to her that I have a shrimp allergy and she said and I quote, "well whatever happens to you, we're not responsible." The menu was incredibly disorganized and I couldn't figure out where anything was. The hostess gave us over 6 pages of laminated papers and we were so confused! When we finally ordered (I had a blank angus burger) it came with no bun. I asked why and the waitress stated "you ordered in the 'carb watcher' section." I didn't even know because the menu was terribly organized and she didn't clarify when I was obviously confused. The burger was alright, the Caesar salad wasn't that great. When she asked if everything was okay, she just kept walking and didn't stop. She didn't give my mother a chance to say she needed more water without walking completely past our table. The entire mood was ruined because of her terrible attitude and lack of responsibility. I wouldn't recommend coming here again. We gave her a $3 tip and we ALWAYS tip more than 20%. *UPDATE* my mother went to the bathroom and the same waitress came up to her and started SCREAMING at her "WHY DID YOU ONLY GIVE ME A $3 TIP?!" And she started fighting with her IN THE PARKING LOT??? Is that your definition of professional service? You're upset at your small tip so you follow the customer and start screaming at them?? Maybe if your service wasn't so shitty we wouldn't give you such a bad tip. She also threatened her by saying, "I KNOW WHO YOU ARE!" If i were the manager, i would be more than furious with that waitress. Threatening your customers after giving a bad tip??? You're lucky we even gave you a tip anyway. That's soooo embarrassing for this establishment. I genuinely hope something is done about that woman. **OTHER UPDATE** I called to speak with the manager about the situation and the same shitty waitress picked up.
