I read the reviews, then visited as a tourist. Here is what I liked and what I concur with: - the staff are friendly. - the pours for wine are generous. - the bar area fosters interaction with locals. - They have TVs to watch sports. My score was tempered by two things that could be improved: -the asparagus was a bit thin and overcooked. -no wine by the bottle.

    Prime Rib special!

You may have to wait a few minutes to be seated even if you see tables open. It's a small place, but the locals keep it busy. The prices are very reasonable. The waitresses are very friendly, but busy. Service is sometimes a bit slow, but they are working as fast as they can! But it is all worth it! In my opinion these are some of the best baked scallops on the cape. I am lucky enough to own a home just down the street and I plan to eat here often. They have many specials including a prime rib that is very reasonably priced. Give it a try sometime. If sangria is on the board, order a glass. It is fabulous! But you must try the scallops! Don't forget the twice baked potato.

We had Ribeyes and a filet mignon. Temps were pretty close to what we asked. Food was excellent otherwise. Prices were reasonable. Our server was Alex and she was great. Very efficient, sweet and funny! Nice little place we will return.

The service throughout was great and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. We started with the fried calamari and it was one of the best preparations I've had. It came with diced tomatoes and banana pepper rings which added a nice freshness and a little kick. For mains, the baked cod was excellent. The panko crust was crispy, the fish was fresh, and it came with well seasoned mashed potatoes and vegetables. The Fisherman's Platter was also fantastic. It came with fried cod, shrimp, scallops, clam strips, and two sides. I picked buttered rice and mashed potatoes, both of which were really good. Everything was fried perfectly and it also came with tartar sauce and a spicy sauce. It's a huge portion, so I'd recommend sharing it with another person. The kids fish and chips were good. The kids mac and cheese was the biggest disappointment. It tasted like Kraft or something very similar and felt severely overpriced for what it was. Someone else ordered the Crunchy Fish Sandwich which looked really good, although I didn't get to try it. For drinks I had the Citrus Mule and didn't really care for it. Overall, I really liked the menu. There was a good variety of seafood and non-seafood options, everything tasted fresh, and the service was excellent. Cost was roughly $36 per person which felt fair considering the quality and portions. We enjoyed this meal more than Skipper and I'd definitely come back.

The Honey chose the Pan Seared Scallops while the Buddy's wife, the Baked Haddock. Everything was excellent. Well plated, well cooked and presented. An excellent experience and a great meal. Their home fries were a perfect side and I love when they're crispy! We got the lemon ricotta pancakes for the table to share and they were fluffy but kind of dry. The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived, but since we had reservations we were seated right away. Our server was friendly and took the time to walk us through the menu and highlight the nightly specials. In the end, we all decided on the prix fixe menu, which included an appetizer, entrée, and dessert--an excellent value considering the quality and generous portion sizes. After placing our orders, our server returned with our drinks along with a basket of warm rolls and soft butter, a nice touch to start the meal. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and the interior is surprisingly spacious. From the outside, you'd never guess how large the restaurant actually is. To start, I ordered the short rib and fontina arancini, which were outstanding. The portion was generous--honestly large enough to be a meal on its own. My wife began with the Caesar salad, which was crisp, fresh, and nicely balanced without being overly dressed. For our main course, my wife and I both chose the crab-stuffed sole. It was excellent and, once again, the portion size was impressive. We even had enough leftovers to make another meal the next day. By the end of the meal we were so full that we decided to take our desserts--New York-style cheesecake and tiramisu--home to enjoy later. There's plenty of parking available, and I'd definitely recommend making reservations, especially on busy nights. It was a good place to go out with friends and have some wings, but I wasn't impressed whatsoever. My family and I were on vacation looking for a place to go that's different from Seafood, so we went back to Tap City to give it another shot. It was incredible. It was possibly one of my favorite restaurants I've tried during my vacation. We got a lot of different dishes, so I was able to try a bunch of them. I myself ordered a "build your own" Pizza. I got Hot Italian Sausage and Pepperoni. It was a very good size for the amount of money you spend. It was delicious. The sauce was amazing, the cheese blend was good and the toppings were both fresh! The crust was a bit soggy however. It was fine, it just was a bit floppy. I tried the Brussel Sprout appetizer and it may have been the best thing on the menu. They were addictive. I could've just ordered those and have been satisfied. I tried the Chicken Tenders and they were alright, but you could tell they are frozen and not homemade. The Fries were good, but just normal fries you'd expect at a bar and grille. Although I personally didn't try it, one of the guests I was with was in love with the Hamburger. This place is a must stop on your vacation if you're looking for a break from Seafood. It has a nice atmosphere and has been packed every time I've walked by. So why am I only giving this a four? Our waitress was not good. She had zero emotion and looked like she wanted to be anywhere other than at her job. I waited 20 minutes to get a refill on my drink because she never checked on us until we finished our food. The service at Tap City Grille should be improved.
