Tap City Grille was a surprise for me! I tried it out around 7 years ago and wasn't the biggest fan. It was a good place to go out with friends and have some wings, but I wasn't impressed whatsoever. My family and I were on vacation looking for a place to go that's different from Seafood, so we went back to Tap City to give it another shot. It was incredible. It was possibly one of my favorite restaurants I've tried during my vacation. We got a lot of different dishes, so I was able to try a bunch of them. I myself ordered a "build your own" Pizza. I got Hot Italian Sausage and Pepperoni. It was a very good size for the amount of money you spend. It was delicious. The sauce was amazing, the cheese blend was good and the toppings were both fresh! The crust was a bit soggy however. It was fine, it just was a bit floppy. I tried the Brussel Sprout appetizer and it may have been the best thing on the menu. They were addictive. I could've just ordered those and have been satisfied. I tried the Chicken Tenders and they were alright, but you could tell they are frozen and not homemade. The Fries were good, but just normal fries you'd expect at a bar and grille. Although I personally didn't try it, one of the guests I was with was in love with the Hamburger. This place is a must stop on your vacation if you're looking for a break from Seafood. It has a nice atmosphere and has been packed every time I've walked by. So why am I only giving this a four? Our waitress was not good. She had zero emotion and looked like she wanted to be anywhere other than at her job. I waited 20 minutes to get a refill on my drink because she never checked on us until we finished our food. Walked in to a place that smelt like old cigarettes and ass. The hostess was nice and very lovely. She was the only good thing about the place!! Food was terrible at best- ordered a french onion soup and it looked like a slice of kraft american melted on top. It was like garlicky and the bread tasted like stale bread they've had in the back of the kitchen for months. Chicken wings were dry and flavorless. Prison food equivalent to be honest... Club soda also had zero fizz. Would've just got water if I knew it'd be that flat. We all felt so nauseous after eating. Go elsewhere. Not worth the time!!! read more

I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this before. After the British Beer Works down the street closed down this place became our regular. Service is always good. Food is always good. Cool decor. Honestly we go here far too often, but almost every time we try another local pub, we have one of two reactions: If it was good, we think "it was OK, but not as good as Tap City", and if it was mediocre we think, "wow, we really should have just gone to Tap City." Another great restaurant which i believe is a sister restaurant too the Tug Boat. Been here a few times. Service is great and fast. The staff friendly and always on their game. I ordered the short rib special. My favorite. Have to try the that, the meat melts in your mouth. And dessert it's like to die for. Waffle something. Went to meet a friend; expectations were low yet I was pleasantly surprised. My partner and O split the Beat& salad with Burrata Salad and a pepperoni pizza- this was my biggest shock. I got the Belly Buster Burger, and it lived up to its name. My stomach was so full after this. The hotel we were sting at offered a discount at a few local restaurants and we decided to give this one a try. We were seated right away. The only problem was a few tables with drunk patrons who were so loud. We should have sat outside. Once they left, the atmosphere was much better! We orders Caesar Salad with grilled shrimp, steak and fries, clam chowder and a steak and cheese. Everything was excellent. The prices were very reasonable, even without the discount. Inconsistent. Had the steak tips over the summer and they were outstanding. Good pieces of meat, cooked perfectly, very tasty. The kind of dish you think about afterwards, and start to crave going back and getting again. Went back about a month later for the tips again, and unfortunately not as good. Then, about 3 weeks ago I was invited to go there to meet up with my girlfriends for dinner. I decided to give it a whirl again with the tips because I remembered how good they were over the summer. So disappointing. The pieces of meat were not good at all. I felt like I was given scraps of fat. They were not cooked as well either. This is one of the few places we haven't been to on Main St and decided it was time to give it a chance. It was actually mother's day and also just after game 7 of a Celtics' playoff series so I'm sure there were some bar stragglers from that. It was decently busy but plenty of open tables available. It was almost like we were in a twilight zone where literally everyone around us seemed to be drinking an espresso martini. I was almost tempted to get one myself but, you know, dinnertime seems to be a little late to be drinking caffeine. They have a really impressive beer list as well as a bunch of creative cocktails. I was considering a coconut martini but ultimately settled on their watermelon sangria. This was good and strong but not much watermelon in there and zero fruit to speak of which is what I expect when I'm ordering a sangria. You have to get your antioxidants somewhere. I appreciated their vegetarian options and decided to stay on the healthier side by ordering their farro bowl. I then decided to completely negate that by ordering cheese curds as an appetizer. The cheese curds were wonderful, warm, and very cheesy. They were served with a sweet, fig maybe? dipping sauce and I'm not sure how well that goes. I personally would have preferred a savory dipping sauce. The farro bowl was a touch overdressed but I appreciated the veggies which included carrots, zucchini, and grape tomatoes. GF ordered the poutine which she absolutely demolished. She also ordered the brussels sprouts which unfortunately come with bacon. She wasn't a big fan of the sprouts and didn't finish them. Party of 9 coming through! It was a Saturday afternoon during the off season at the Cape (aka January.) They don't take reservations. But we walked it and were seated immediately. It was around Noon. Our waitress managed all 9 of us (4 being kids all 10 and under) very well. All the adults ordered drinks, the kids got fancy kids drinks (I think it was cotton candy.) One kid wasn't smitten with their drink but she isn't a huge fan of soda which was the base of the drink. All adults were happy with their drinks. I went with a strawberry lemonade adult drink. It was delicious! Perfect balance of the sweet taste but still had a little adult kick to it. The food... my family split a steak and cheese pretzel (interesting concept), poutine fries (egg on Poutine?) and French onion soup (because it was cold!) The pretzel: good concept but left us needing a little more. Basically served one hungry kid. Each time i went for a little bit, the pull away was just getting cheesy bread. The poutine: egg overcooked but tasty. I wish the yolk was runny and I had gotten the real egg on poutine experience French Onion soup: no complaints! I am going to sounds ridiculous now but the bathrooms are cool. Nifty cement sink, interesting shape. Overall this place is a solid 3.5 with potential to be a 4 if we were to have a different cook on a different day. (I am talking about runny egg here!) read more

Great selection of craft beers on tap. We had a friendly server who got us our drinks quickly but made time for a few jokes and small talk. The room was COVID safe with people well distanced and plexiglass all over. I had the salmon on carver salad and asked for the fish to be cooked as lightly as the chef was comfortable cooking it. Stopped by Tap City Grill for a drinks and dinner in a weeknight. There was an open table outdoor and we sat down. The table was a little tight and I moved it a few feet over for more room and sat down. I assume it was a manager of some sort started pointing in my direction and yelling over other patrons. I though she was trying to get someone's attention behind me. She got angry and scolded me and relocated us to a different table. Despite that, our server was very attentive and she went above and beyond to make our experience a good one. The pizza was excellent. The pot pie was very good.
