The steak was absolutely massive. The price was so low and they taper the seasoning so well over the food so that it doesn't just fade.

This restaurant is slowly going downhill. They used to be good (food, service, atmosphere). However, these past two visits, we just ended up leaving. About a month ago came in for lunch at 2 pm. There were a few tables, maybe 5, but very quiet. We were seated. The bread was old and hard, but we managed to eat a little of it. When we were asked for our orders, we chose the chicken sandwich. The server informed us that they ran out of chicken. Ok, no problem, we ordered a burger. The server said they ran out of beef and were waiting for their supply truck. So, he said we could have shrimp, salad, or soups. So we thanked him and let. Today, we went again around 3 pm for a late lunch, but five other groups were waiting (3 groups of two and two of four people). So we gave the host our name, and she said it would be about a twenty-five-minute wait. Seriously? Only three tables were seated; the rest of the restaurant was empty. We asked if we could sit in the bar area as it was empty. She peaked her head around the corner and said not at this time. I get that it's hard to find people that want to work. It could also be that management doesn't know how to schedule people and order food. Or it just be they don't want to pay for the labor. Regardless of the reason, when your restaurant is empty, and you don't sit customers, what does that do to its reputation at that location? Food used to be so good. Now the quality of the meat is not good. I had ribs that were unedible, grisly and full of tiny bones. My granddaughter ordered the sirloin it tasted strange and over spicy. Even the Chicken Parmesan was salty. Won't go back. Service has also declined. read more

LOADED POTATO SOUP - NO BACON PLEASE!!!! I'll start by saying if I could give them ZERO stars I would. The unfortunate truth is someone in the kitchen and management are liars, or lazy, and can't get their story straight. My family does not eat pork - on 2 separate occasions (1 month apart) we ordered their loaded potato soup and specifically asked for NO BACON. At both separate occasions we were served the soup with bacon in the soup and told it had no bacon. I think the most unfortunate part of this whole experience is the fact the servers continued to bring us fresh bowls of soup as if they were bringing us soup with NO BACON and each and every bowl had bacon in it. It almost felt like we were being pranked. My husband asked to speak to the manager and that was a joke .... Took forever for her to actually speak to him. The manager assured him the kitchen can make the soup without bacon and apologized, offered us a $30 voucher for our inconvenience.... It is really sad and frustrating that this establishment has no regard for their customers. What if someone has a serious allergy or religious belief? I can only tell you do not go to this place they do not care and will serve you what they want, regardless of what you ask for. I think the worst part of this is if they would just be honest and let the servers know the loaded potato soup is precooked with the bacon in it then we would've been fine and moved on to another item. But, they instead choose to lie and tell customers the soup can be made without bacon - when in fact it cannot. Of course we will not be back ever - we refuse to give you our money when you do not care about your customers needs and continue to lie. I will be contacting your corporate office on the next business day. This is not ok and the kitchen needs to be checked!!! Accountability is absolutely necessary!!!! read more

Since they opened in Algonquin, Longhorn has become my favorite go to when I crave a really good, tasty, fairly priced steak- last night, for the first time we were disappointed. Prices have gone up there, like everywhere else, but that doesn't explain why the filet my wife ordered was first served nearly raw, then took 10 minutes to reheat and cook a bit more, then was chewy rather than the tender melt in your mouth of previous visits. I tried a T-bone for the first- and last-time. It was okay, but a very thin cut steak and the tenderloin portion was almost as thin as flank steak. It ripped rather than sliced with the knife. I won't give up on Longhorn, but will go back to my regular New York cut for the next trip. The sweet potato was still amazing and the Caesar salad was excellent. Our waiter was attentive but appeared to have too many tables- he flew around and spoke so fast we felt rushed even though his attention to the table was fine he seemed to be half way focussed on his next stop before he was even finished talking with us. We have always had excellent meals. The chicken dish is especially tasty for a steakhouse. The interior is nice though a bit dark.

Great atmosphere, ate at Bar as waiting on a Saturday night for a table is not my thing. Brad the bartender was full of personality and made the night. FILET 6 ounce was cooked perfectly. When they first opened my family and I thought we were in luck and the first couple of times the food was perfect. The third time missing items, burnt steaks look like the grill needed cleaning (couldn't eat them) and the last time the steak didn't have any flavor and one side of the Parmesan chicken was burnt. We have been striking out ever since the first couple times. So disappointed. Apparently they do not check the food before it goes out. I wish it was like before. Nothing last long at that building that they are in now, maybe they are headed in that direction too. So sad but we may have to drive all the way to Schaumburg to see if they can do any better. read more

My family and I have never been to Longhorn and we visited the one in Algonquin for my daughters' birthday. I cannot tell you how pleased we all were at the level of service we received. Our server Michelle was phenomenal. As a Darden Employee myself (Olive Garden), I can honestly say that Michelle was the best server I have seen. She was very personable and actually took the time to get to know her table...knowing now that we actually live next to each other in the same town. Who knew? LOL. She was very tentative to our needs and was always available to help us. The food was very delicious and made perfectly as were the desserts. Went with my brother on Mother's Day to celebrate our mom as she is no longer with us. They did not disappoint! Wonderful food with generous portions and the steak is delicious! I had the 6oz filet and 4oz lobster tail. My brother had a 9oz filet and red rock shrimp and couldn't even finish his dinner and he has a VERY healthy appetite! Our waiter Jeremy was awesome! Location! Location! Location! We are so glad that now we got a Longhorn close to us. We usually drive to Schaumburg location but now we do not have to. Brought my son after going to the beach in Lake in The Hills for dinner. Obviously it's a brand new opened restaurant, both exterior and interior are immaculate including the silverwares and whatnot. Service is 110% everyone is welcoming and friendly and our server for the evening was very attentive. Ordered the ribeye, medium and it was perfect! It was tastier than Schaumburg's to be honest. Seasoning was on point. To the staff who played peek a boo to my son, thank you so much. We've been to a lot of restaurants in our lives and only few who would interact and acknowledge my little one. Drive was decent, but few soups were upgraded from side size to full size (there was no reading the order back). EVERYONE at the table complained that the meat was overcooked and way oversalted. Hopefully a growing pain for this new location, but still disappointing for $25-30 steaks. read more

We have been to a few other Longhorn locations and always had a good experience. Today the food met our expectations as always, but the service left something to be desired. When we arrived, there were two people at the host stand and one just kind of waved at the other to check us in, but then became agitated when the person helping us asked a question about seating us. We had a wait a few, which was fine, but we had also specifically asked for a table, not a booth, but when they did seat us, it was a booth. Fortunately, we were able to make it work for us rather than wait longer. It took awhile for the waitress to come to the table, and when she did, we were ready to order. When the food came out, they initially tried to take it to the wrong table, and then we realized that we never got our appetizer. The waitress admitted that she forgot to put in the appetizer for us but did so right away when we said we still wanted it. When we were done it took quite awhile for the table to be cleared and to get our check after making it clear that we were ready for it. Fortunately we were able to pay from our phone to make a quicker exit once we got our bill. read more

The staff and the food are amazing. I have been to the Schaumburg and Algonguin locations. Both are excellent. The parmesan crusted chicken is my favorite. I get the 12 ounce and an extra mashed potatoes instead of soup or light salad. I eat one in the restaurant, and have the rest the next day. For just a little over $20, I have two full meals. Takeout is just as great when I am working and they even give you the fresh loaf of bread to take with you. It's cheaper than going to Taco Bell or Burger King and so much more tasty. read more

I tried Longhorn for the first time with my wife. BIG mistake, mostly by me. What made me do it? Why would I think that a $30 ribeye would be good. Worst piece of meat I've ever had in my life. Gristle throughout, that waitress called marbleing. The knife she gave me could not even cut through the meat. It had to tear it. The breaded onion appetizer was horribly over breaded and fried in dirty grease. Baked potato awful. The Caesar salad dressing was terrible. My wife asked the waitress if the ribs were the " fall off the bone" type, and the waitress said absolutely. My wife struggled to get the knife into the meat to separate the ribs. Not tender at all. What a waste of money! But I made the mistake of going in. This review is so you don't make that mistake too. You have been warned. read more

We had a booth for four. We were seated in a timely manner. We all had a ribeye but I ordered the bone in steak. Cook was perfect on all med rare. So juicy and great flavor. My mind still reliving that ribeye. These were 10 star meats. For a appetizer we order the Wild West shrimp that was ample serving. Just enough heat would order again. One side I chose was a bake French onion soup. Tons of flavor nice cheesy crust. Slight sweetness and I loved it. This was one of the best FO Soup I ever had. The drink I ordered was longhorn margarita. I am a Bloody Mary drinker when I go out so this was a change for me. The drink was so good I had four of them. Normally I have two drinks even if good so that shows you how much I enjoyed it. My daughter ordered a mango margarita which was a higher price but all she got two glass fulls in that order. The price average was reasonable. We had no desert. So five stars but here was the one small rub. My bake potato could have been served hotter and a tad more butter. Deduct a star no still a five star + meal. I highly recommend because of a great meal and price was fair for this chain. We will definitely return here. read more

We used to love going to the Longhorn in Norridge, pre-pandemic. And we were so excited to see a new restaurant opening near our new home. Last night we went to the new Algonquin location. We felt like we were being rushed through our meal. Each course was dropped off at the end of our table before we were finished with the previous one. The filet mignons were less than an inch thick. The server asked us if we knew that they boldly seasoned their food, since we had been to the Norridge location we said yes. Boldly is an understatement, I could not even taste the steak, all I could taste was pepper. My husband said his was the same and it was over cooked. Very disappointing. Additionally, their bar menu is a fraction of what it used to be. We will not be returning to this location. read more

Went for an early Friday dinner and were unfortunately disappointed. Two of our four meals were not cooked as ordered and one was sent back, and didn't return cooked as ordered until the rest of our party were ready to leave, so the manager boxed it to go. Other than that, the new location is very nice and the wait staff couldn't have been friendlier and more attentive. Finally, my wife and I made it to Longhorn after passing by since it first opened. We tried to get seated on a Saturday evening, which was a little bit of a mistake on my part since our wait was going to be 50 minutes. But as Bob Ross says, a happy accident. We found two open seats at the bar and sat right down. The bartender, Brad, was a terrific host and served us immediately. The steak was excellent and the Brussels sprouts were some of the best I've had at twice the price at a pricier steakhouse. Try the shrimp-lobster bisque, very good and chunks of seafood in it. We will definitely be back and may opt for the bar seating on purpose next time. We were done and out before we would have gotten seated at a table. read more

I've had the filet and pork chops here and both have good flavor and are good and flavorful cuts of meat. While food has always been good, they are spot on with service. Then mentioned to our 8th grader that she was big and has really big pants. im not sure if the server was just having a bad day since I don't know what's going on in someone else's life but even if you do, you don't get an excuse to make comments about our family being large and making the 8th grader in our family feeling insecure about her size and the amount of food that was ordered. we were felt like we were being shamed for what we ordered. We walked in happy because we were celebrating one of the family graduating nursing school and then were treated with even more disrespect than what I wrote above. complete lack of respect from our server.
