Sat for about 15 minutes with no service finally the manager took our drink order and app order he comped our app for the wait. The waiter named Nicky finally came to take our entree order my fiancé received a Cesar salad with no dressing on it we said there was no dressing and he argued that there was dressing on the salad but that it was light we dug through the salad to find the dresssing wasn't there.. he did get him more. As we were eatting our steak which was excellent there were fruit flys all over us and our food well we looked at the wall and it was climbing with fruit flys. I can only imagine what is in the tap and in the liquor bottles. The waiter asked if my fiancé wanted another drink looked at me before I could speak and said "you're good". Thought I posted but realized I didn't lol. We visited here for my son's 14th birthday on February 5, 2022. We called a few "steak houses" in the area and they were booked and their "waitlist" rules were odd. I called LongHorn and gave my name for a party of 10. We were greeted as soon as we arrived we were told it would be an hour wait. The place was packed! After about 10 minutes, we were seated. Our waiter was Cody (sp?) and he was AMAZING!!!! He was attentive and polite even though we were constantly bothering him for something every minute. He was also serving many other tables but managed to keep it running smoothly and with a smile! If you love beef this place is probably the place for you. As for a chicken fan like me, it's a little bit disappointing. I tried to eat the chicken wrap appetizer (unfried) as an entree, but there was barely any chicken in it. You could only taste the cheese and not good cheddar, but overly thick mock cheddar. If you are wondering what mock cheddar is it's like putting non velveeta cheese on mac and cheese. Plus, that was 8 bucks and one of the cheapest dishes on the menu. Veggie options were lacking as well. On the other hand, the steak eaters seemed pretty content with the place and its high priced beef options. The server staff was also a plus and provided us with our food in a timely manner and allowed me to get my dish grilled instead of fried. Went in for lunch today with 6 friends. Service was very prompt and professional. The food was uniformly good. Everyone ordered one kind of steak or another. Just finished a dinner for three at Longhorn Steakhouse in Frederick. The food, two steaks and an order of ribs, were done right and very tasty. Try the loaded potato soup - it's great, especially on a cold night. Customer service was first rate. The manager dropped by the table to tell us one steak was going to take a bit longer than usual. We were still working on salads and the soup and were in no hurry. Because of the "delay" she offered us free deserts. Went in for dinner around 7, and was told a 15-20 minute wait which was understandable. They actually ended up seating us after 10 minutes which was great. Our waiter was very nice, but seeing as it was our first time some more information on specials, or the menu would have been appreciated (hence one star). The food was somewhat slow-but that was do to the dinner time rush, and the full house they had. We had spicy chicken small bites, very good! And two steak dinners- sirloin (runs a little small) and porterhouse. Both were very good steak, and cooked excellently. We also had beer and I tried the coconut pineapple margarita which was delicious! Overall I would try again, but it is a bit on the pricier side for a steak house. I'm pretty sure I had the worst dining experience of my life last night at longhorn. I haven't been to Longhorn in a long time but typically love this restaurant. Where do I start... The waitress could use some training was not attentive at all. Our cocktails were strong and one was very watery and could barely drink them. One of us ordered a beer it was warm, no big deal... it gets worse. We didn't get our Bread for a very long time, where other tables that wear just seated near us got theirs. Not a long wait to get our appetizers and entrees, however our stakes were completely cooked wrong from what we ordered. We sent it back and when it returned it was still very wrong! This place is ok....sometimes. Occasionally I have gotten a good waiter/waitress, but they never seem to hang around for long. There is a particular server here, whose name might be David (I can't exactly remember) who has reddish hair and wire rimmed glasses who is excellent. Otherwise, you're not getting your food or refills any time soon, so sip slowly and settle in for the long haul. The staff here always acts like the customer's request is too much trouble. I have asked for a booth and the hostess practically threw the menu at me when I sat down, while rolling her eyes. The last waitress I had was obviously peeved because I only wanted an appetizer and dessert, and never refilled my drink. The food is regularly served in several states of doneness. I have had steaks so overcooked that they could not be chewed, one that was literally room temperature, and a case of charred parmesean chicken with ice cold broccoli. Our 'go to' place for decent steaks when we don't want to spend over $30 for them. Their steaks are so well seasoned and tasty! This last visit they over cooked his ribeye and they took it right back and prepared another one....even took it off the bill which I thought was appropriate as I had already eaten my steak meal before his make up dish finally came. LongHorn really disappointed today. I've never had service this bad at this location before and I'm very surprised. The quality of the food was so off my steak was dried out and burnt I believe it was old to and my potatoes were cold. I will think twice before coming back to this location the quality of their service and food has changed and not for the better! Steak was also burnt and did not taste like a usual Longhorn steak! This has to have the worst tasting food out of all of the steakhouse franchises (i.e Texas roadhouse, outback etc.) My meat was dry, that's supposed to be their specialty. Every time I drive by Longhorn, it is packed! We opted to go to an early dinner to skip the crowd and man, I am glad we did. By 5:00, it was slammed. I had the New York strip which was not the greatest and wasn't quite the temp I requested. My husband had ribs and they were very flavorful and fall off the bone. Everything else was pretty good as was the service. I wasn't blown away by Longhorn but it is a solid lunch or dinner spot. The honor of my first review of 2014 goes to a steakhouse... It just couldn't be any other way. I ate here last night for my birthday dinner. Seeing as how it was a Tuesday and temperature was a balmy 2 degrees, a hearty steak in a non assuming restaurant sounded pretty good. JV and I were immediately greeted by a manager at the host stand and seated in a comfy booth. The restaurant was surprisingly lively, and there were several large parties seated near us. I have a strange fondness for pina coladas and Longhorn's did not disappoint. It was blended just right and I could actually taste the alcohol! I had a couple of sips of JV's cocktail (something with mule in the name) which was Jim Beam, ginger, and something else. I'm not a fan of Jim but I think with a better bourbon it would've been awesome, and certainly more adventurous than the usual chain restaurant cocktails! On to the food. The shrimp and lobster dip app was very cheesy and much heavier on the shrimp than lobster. Come to think of it, it wasn't very dippy- much more like melted cheese in a ramekin. The chips that came with it were a bit too oily but they were warm and crispy. Didn't hate it, didn't love it. The salad was most disappointing. I ordered the mixed greens which I imagined would be spinach, arugula, radicchio, etc. Nope, it was just an iceberg mix with shredded cheese and croutons. At least the server brought out oil and vinegar for me to dress it myself which was a nice thought. So why four stars? The Blue Crab Meyer Lemon Fillet was ah-MAY-zing! Literally everything about the steak was perfect- the seasoning, the temperature, the char. The crab topping was generous and the light hollandaise was a great complement. The steak was served with 3 thin but delicious asparagus spears and my choice of side. Naturally I chose the bacon mac and cheese. HEAVEN. PURE HEAVEN. I can't even say any more. Our server was lovely, checking in after every course but never being overbearing. Too bad I don't remember her name or I would ask for her next time. Service terrible, i.e. our waiter felt it his duty to explain to us (with a long face) that his dog had just died. That put a damper on what should have been a fun night out with friends. First off we were told it would be a 30 minute wait for a party of 8, that wasn't even a close guess on the hostess part. Yes I realize that large of a party would probably take a bit longer but not an hour and fourty five minutes worth. So I had 2 drinks while waiting and then another at dinner. After being there for two hours and ten minutes I wanted another drink. I was told by the waitress that the manager cut me off because they had a 3 drink maximum (Obviously after 2+ hours I was completely not intoxicated). Needless to say I did not leave a tip and I was not happy with the experience or how I had been treated. If this were the case it needs to be in large print on the menu's and within the bar area. Corporate will be hearing from me on Monday over this matter and I may not stop there as I am still hot under the collar over this. Had a kid free night so my husband and I decided to go here for dinner. We went on a Friday around 6pm and we were seated right away. Our waitress greeted us almost immediately and took our drink orders. Our drinks (delicious margarita by the way) came out fairly quickly along with some bread. So, the service was quick but our waitress didn't seem to like us very much. She wasn't very friendly. I mean, I don't want a big show and dance but I also don't want to feel like my presence is ruining someone's day. Our food was delicious though. I absolutely love Long Horn Steakhouse but after my Frederick experience I doubt I'll ever go again and if I do, it won't be to that hell hole that they call a restaurant. My husband and I live in Carroll County so it was a little bit of a drive to get to this Longhorn. It wasn't bad but it took some considerable time. We were super excited to be eating here for a date night since my husband is in Law Enforcement and he was working some crazy shifts and we needed a really great date night. A friend gifted us a gift card (one of those that you could choose out of 4 places) and we chose to go to Longhorn Steakhouse. Our excitement quickly dissipated as we had to wait 45 minutes, which was fine because it was a Saturday night but it was only 2 of us and other couples that walked in after us were seated immediately. So that sort of started the night out on a bad note. I wasn't going to hold that against my waiter or waitress though... We got seated and were greeted by our waitress (or lack thereof) named Destiny. I once worked in the restaurant industry and I know how hard waiters and waitresses work and it makes me really mad reading these viral posts on Facebook about people not getting tips because my husband and I tip ALWAYS if the service is good over 35%. Most of the time we tip 50% or higher for EXCELLENT service. Anyways, as we were seated it took Destiny 6 minutes to even acknowledge us and another 3 to come get our drink orders. Once we got the drink orders, a Coke & an ice tea... we were greeted with a Coke & a Sprite. She didn't write anything down and then proceeded to blame the mess up on it being long day which at that point I heard her tell another customer she had been working since 4... Not quite sure how only a few hour constitutes for a long day but I let it go. We ordered their bacon cheese fries as a appetizer and that was brought out but no plates were given for us to eat and I ended up making a mess because when chili is involved who doesn't?! We weren't even offered bread like you're supposed to get, and we had to ask for that. I started getting a tad bit irritated at this point... We then ordered our dishes and I got the fish with some shrimp on top and fresh steamed asparagus and rice. My husband got a steak with shrimp and mashed potatoes. When our food came out my asparagus was fried with a cheese on top, my husband didn't have his shrimp or his mashed potatoes. When she finally went back to get her "mix ups" she came back a good 30 minutes later to give us the rest of our meal which by that time was already eaten. In my experience when I worked in the industry, I would've offered the patron a free dessert or some discount off of their check for my mistakes but nothing was ever offered. She even had the audacity to ask if we wanted to order dessert but we neglected to get it because we were so fed up with the place that we just wanted to leave and quite frankly, I'm sure she would've screwed that up too. She wasn't even nice. She acted like she was bothered by us when I was trying to be compassionate and understanding considering I've been in her shoes before. When we got the check which was about $60, we used our $40 gift card and left. My husband didn't even want to talk to the manager about getting money taken off because of the gift card and didn't want it to seem like we were being cheap. I felt bad but she didn't get a good tip and I'm not sure if this facility does tip sharing or not but if they do I feel bad that the rest of the servers have to pay for her constant mistakes. ALSO, while we were waiting for our food, we heard a large bang coming from the bar area in the back by a super loud employee yelling profanities that young children at the table next to us asked their parents what those words meant. They were irritated too. What was supposed to be a great dinner was quite actually, horrible. I don't even know how it could've gone any more wrong. Been going to this location during business travel for the past five years. Probably been here a dozen times or more. Last few visits were on the decline, but the latest visit was the worse. Got there about 8pm and they were busy for that hour on a Wednesday night. Seated next to a group of young children having a birthday party. Several kids were chasing each other around the table and the adult chaperones were oblivious - kinda like a Chuck E. Cheese atmosphere. Waited about ten minutes before approached for drink orders. Waitress was forgetful and complained about how many tables she was covering - they did seem understaffed. Food was nothing special. Patrons on either side of us complained about their food and the Manager came out to speak with them and skipped us without so much as a hello; he comped some of their meals.
