We went to Independence Longhorn Steak house to celebrate my brother 75 birthday. No registration available for group of 5. We got seated fairly quickly after majority of party arrived. Had drinks and appetizer. The spicy shrimp was plenty for 4 with high number of shrimp. Service was good and left us bread and butter with appetizer and drinks. . Arrived at the restaurant around 6 p.m. on a Tuesday evening. Was seating near the bathrooms, restaurant was half empty, anyplace would have been better. We sat forever waiting for a server to just give us water. the finally came, I asked for coffee as my drink. 20 minutes later, no drinks, no orders taken. Finally, they came around with a couple waters and two cokes, still no coffee. after another 5 minutes, I flagged someone down and asked for coffee. Coffee arrives just in time to take orders, I asked for ribeye, medium raw, broccoli and a salad. I requested horseradish, they did not have and I settled for just the ribeye. The front hostess stand was littered with garbage all over the floor. The restaurant floors were covered with garbage. They eventually swept about an hour into our dinner. The food was good overall. I had the chicken tenders and hubby had the lobster tail and filet. We also had the corn which is so good. Our main issue with this restaurant is the cleanliness. The salt and pepper shakers were dirty and sticky. The holder was covered in dust. They really need to do a better job of cleaning this place. Also..... as we were coming in one of the waitresses literally ran after a customer in the parking lot with the check in her hand and accused them of not leaving her a tip. Was on the east side for some appointments today, so I decided to dine at this longhorn so I could have brussels sprouts... Walked in was seated right away. The waitress was over in an instant, and I placed my order. I ordered the Pick Two which consisted of a small Caesar salad and a small bowl of shrimp lobster chowder and I added of course my brussels sprouts. I asked for sweet tea light ice and I got mostly ice with some sweet tea so a little disappointed already. I was offered bread while I waited, but then there wasn't any so I had to wait for that and it took forever to come out. I don't know what was wrong there and it took a long time for a salad and a bowl of soup to come out of the kitchen. Salad has no cooking and the soup only had to be ladled out of a pot. Both were very tasty and a proper temperature. the Brussels sprouts we're disappointing and they were nowhere near tasty like what Rocky River and Strongsville serve so I'll be taking these home to doctor them up, but it was a spur of the moment decision so it's a spur of the moment lunch that I ended up with. Server wasn't his attentive as I'm used to and I've had her before at a different restaurant. There was a period of time she disappeared for almost 15 minutes, and I was sitting around waiting for the bill, but I had nothing better to do so if you have time to waste and time to spare go here for average food and average service. Haven't been to Longhorns in a while but the smell and an empty stomach beckoned us in. Sometimes things don't go right and it is how the staff and restaurant handle things. I had an issue with my meal and staff went out if there way to make it right. Didn't get any pictures of our food but wait staff was attentive and efficient. Other meal was great. I had dinner here twice last week while working in the area. The first night i had a renegade sirloin with a baked potato. It was cooked perfectly, and it was seasoned well too. I sat at the bar and the bar tender was attentive and entertaining. The second night i got a bacon cheeseburger and the wings appetizer. The burger was very good. The wings are excellent with the buffalo sauce poured over them. The ribs would be delicious if only they wouldn't cook them so fast and burn them. This has happened at the Solon and the Independence locations on both of my recent last two takeout orders. What's annoying is they know they are burnt, yet they serve them to you anyway! They are costly, so just take your time and cook them slowly. I order a chopped steak med well with a loaded backed potato, instead I got raw in the middle chopped steak with mashed potatoes. My waitress was very nice and apologetic. When I asked for the manager whose name is Jeremy, never came, so we left. I will be contacting corporate. Go somewhere else if you can or be watchful of what you eat. I arrived at the restaurant; it was cold, empty, and dirty. Food on the floor, greasy tables, and just an overall bad impression of cleanliness. As I waited for 10 minutes, I was approached and seated after signaling for assistance. After being seated, I waited for a long time for my food, which was cooked medium well on one side and well done and dry as leather on the other. Nobody checked on me; finally, I waved down a manager, telling him about my steak. He rudely said, "The grill is off; I can't remake your food." He also added you ate half, so pay half. He said, "Sound good?" I said it wasn't good. He said, "But you ate it." I didn't like his attitude, so I requested the name of the general manager. He said, "I am the manager." I said, "The general manager?" He said, "No, his name is Damon." I said, "Can I have his card?" He said, "You can grab one up front." And walked away. I felt discriminated against. The following day I expressed these concerns to another micromanager named Jeremy. He claimed he would refund what I paid, and it still posted after our discussion. I also contacted the health department about the foul condition they keep the dinner in. I would recommend another location. Our steaks were humongous, tender, seasoned perfectly and so tasty! Sweet potato was cooked perfectly with cinnamon and butter. We also shared the stuffed mushrooms. The Wooster location is wonderful. Unbelievable customer service everytime, great atmosphere and clean. The food is great, I've had almost every appetizer and entree and it never fails to disappoint. If you don't feel like something is cooked to your liking, such as your steak, they are right on it and fix it no problem but this only happened once. They need to bring back there lamb chops. For desert I highly recommend the cheesecake, it's to die for. I love how the managers are proactive and come around and talk to you to make sure everything is ok. I've been going to this location for a few years now and used to go twice a week at least after dialysis, now I do it at home so I don't go as often and they all noticed and always are happy to see me and treat me like family. The best service and quality dishes, you won't be disappointed. Favorite dishes are appetizers: Texas Tonion, buffalo wings so tender and juicy, spinach artichoke dip with pita chips. Entrees: Flo's Filet, yes the Steakhouse burger so flavorful, Grilled Shrimp, and the Chicken Tenders are seasoned and moist, Ribs are delicious, those Lamb chops are awesome and tender when available. Worst experience ever at a restaurant! The entire time we were at our table we fought off fruit flies. Once our food came to the table it was game on for the flies. They swarmed our plates and settled in on the food. I never in my life ever experienced anything like this. There was swarms of these things. I was so pissed off I called the manager over to our table and complained. He acted like it was no big deal. Joking about it until I told him I was going to post about our experience on social media. Then he agreed to pay for our meals. You couldn't even eat the meals after a swarm of fruit flies landed all over them. How many bugs are flying around the kitchen on the food they're serving?
