We came to LongHorn steakhouse with pretty low expectations. I'm not a fan of chain restaurants myself, but I was not opposed to giving LongHorn a try. We ordered the porterhouse steak to share amongst two people as a main and the shrimp as an appetizer. I've got to say, the portion sizes were amazing. Even the margarita we ordered was giant. They are great for dine in or carry out. They have consistently great steaks whether eat in or take away. It's a go to dinner for a non cooking night. The cowboy steak is easily split for 2 adults and tasty. The loaded potatoes are good, broccoli is fresh and steamed well. OUTSTANDING customer service!! My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a steak lunch to celebrate my birthday. It was our first time visiting this location. Our server, James, was extremely pleasant, despite having multiple tables to attend to that included some large parties. Even with a heavy workload, James did a fantastic job of making sure we had everything we needed. My husband's steak came out cooked perfectly to medium rare. Unfortunately my first steak came out overdone, but it was swiftly corrected and cooked to absolute perfection (medium) the second time. The manager visited our table to personally apologize and went above and beyond in rectifying the issue. It's rare to go to a restaurant where anyone actually cares about the customers anymore, so we were super thrilled at the level of service here. We will definitely be back soon! read more

Once we did get service it was a trainee who was supposed to be getting help from the manager. Even so they managed to completely forget an order. Only bringing it after being reminded and after everyone else had already been served. This particular restaurant is plagued by a lack of service. Making it difficult for everyone. Longhorn....I really wanted to like you. Your food is better than the nearby Outback. The romance, alas, is gone. Our last encounter was a curbside order that was 45 minutes late. After a long wait and thinking you stood me up, I finally went inside only to find my order waiting for me. I did exactly what you asked. I parked. I checked in with my space. Still, I was left wanting. Some time had passed, so I figured I'd give our relationship another chance. Alas, to no avail. I pulled in to our spot at the time you requested for our rendezvous. There were no "official" spots available, so I gave you specific directions to where I'd be and I waited. I noticed the other suitors vehicles were empty and no one was coming out to the vehicles, so I went inside to check on you. I was sent to a table for "take out" orders. This was not the meeting we had planned! You were coming to me, not the other way around. Again, I followed your instructions on my phone to the letter! Even though we were 15 minutes past our meeting time, you still weren't ready. When I got home with the order, the steaks were incorrectly labeled and you didn't follow the instructions (no bread, please). I really wanted this to work but in the end, it's you, not me. All I can say is WOW what a bad experience. I arrived around 4:10 pm on Saturday afternoon.. starving. I took a seat at the bar away from several folks who were talking to the bartender. The parking lot was empty as was the restaurant and bar. As I bellied up to the bar I noticed my seat and the 2 adjoins seats were covered vested with crumbs and spilled drinks. The area had been bussed but the area was not clean. The bartender was fully engaged in conversation with the guest to even notice I had sat down. Finally she grabbed a rag and finished the job. I ordered a Blue Moon and had to ask for a menu. She went right back to the locals after beer was served. They obviously monopolized all her attention! Finally I ordered as did the new arrival next to me. In the mean time another local arrived. She ordered wine and some steak. After an excessive amount of time a steak dinner was served to the latest local. Then the person next to me received her food. Nothing for me.bartender down carrying on conversations about her child with locals. Her attention finally glanced down the bar and saw wine lady eating a steak. She immediately approached her and advised she had received the wrong meal(mine). Away went the meal and there I sat. Wine lady was served her correct meal and I still waited. No explanation nothing. She continued her converse about her kid with the locals. Finally my steak and potatoes was placed in front of me. No explanation.. nothing... I cut into the steak and knew it was wrong temp. I ordered med rare (warm center) I received a seared steak that was cold and bloody. Bartender never checked on me. I moved the potatoes to bread plate ate the potato. It took yet again an extended amount of time for her to check. I requested a tab for potato and salad ( which I ate) but I was not eating the raw steak I had waited an extended time for. We were there at 6:00. Not as good as usual. Spinach dip was good but something was off. Not as hot or tasty as usual. I had salmon with rice and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels were not good. I think they left the honey sauce off. My husband got the ribeye. With mushrooms. Steak was ok. Nice flavor but mushrooms had no taste. Bread was as good as always and was warm. Not sure if a new cook or just a bad day. Service was good. Except they brought broccoli instead of Brussels but they did fix it. Ambiance as usual. A little cold an loud. Overall was just ok. Will give another try as we go often to this one so hopefully just an off night. read more

Done with this location. After a previous review we decided to try again and for a good while there were no problems. However, we had to walk out during our last visit last month. One particular manager seems to have had a problem with us as we had some issues with this particular gentleman in the past. We specifically request not to be seated in a certain area and mention it to the hostess at the front if they are someone who we haven't met yet. This last time we saw the manager speak to the hostess who mentioned that we didn't want to be seated in this area and the manager then proceeded to sit us there anyway. We were going to say something but decided not to and see how it went. After much delay we finally had someone take our order. After what seemed like an unusually long time our food still didn't arrive. The waiter said it will be here soon and apologized. 15 minutes later we still haven't been served and couldn't see our waiter anywhere. I got up to go to the restroom and saw that several tables that were seated after us were about halfway through their meals. At that point we decided to give up and leave. We usually frequent this particular Longhorn several times a month as we felt it was one of the better ones and most of the wait staff were awesome. However, the three times we had an issue, this particular manager failed miserably. Unfortunately we won't be back. read more

Wow !!! This restaurant gets 5 stars from me. I apologize for no pictures. The best Longhorn I have visited. The parking lot was crowded so we assume the wait time was long. It was not. We were seared immediately and served drinks quickly. I ordered a strawberry margarita long pour. I always enjoy their margaritas. The first order of bread was hard and the waitress had no problem with replacing it. The second one was soft and hot. Our waitress was the best very polite and patient. My family and i will not be returning to this location, which is unfortunate since it was the best one within a 50 mile radius. My husband and i took our three kids there and we ordered steaks all cooked medium. They all came out well done, i was not going to eat a well done filet so i let the waitress know about it. She said they will bring a new one out. My kids mac and cheese were cold. Literally like out of the fridge cold, no exaggeration. She brings the mac and cheese out about 15 minutes later, warm. Everyone is done with their meal and my steak is still not here. The chef (i am assuming) comes out with just my steak after about 30 minutes and has me cut it open. It was almost raw but i took it anyway because i was starving. The waitress comes back and said the cook has a feud with her and is doing this to her on purpose. She apologized and took my meal off the bill. The fact that their feud is getting in the middle of their jobs and taking it out on the customers is absolutely ridiculous. I frequent Longhorn Steakhouse in various cities as I can always get a consistently good steak and salad. I'm usually there for lunch and have never had to experience a wait. Never been there for dinner so not sure how they handle larger crowds. Never had a bad meal. It's not what I would consider a "high end" steakhouse, but for the price, it's good. I particularly love the chopped steak with steamed broccoli and salad with blue cheese dressing (they have really good blue cheese dressing IMO). For the price, you just can't beat it. This review is for the Longhorn in Jacksonville Beach, FL, but in my experience could just as well apply to any I've visited. I love Texas bbq, and Longhorn is always a great option. I came with my father and our friend. We were seated quickly and our waiter quickly came to bring us drinks. The menu is great, lots of options. I got the 9oz Parmesan Crusted Chicken with a baked sweet potato and substituted broccoli instead of a salad. My father got the NY strip steak with fries and our friend got the half rack ribs with Brussels sprouts and asparagus. The Parmesan chicken was excellent, cooked perfectly and melts in your mouth, great flavor. The sweet potato was huge and perfectly cut. I suggest getting the sugar and butter on the side so you can adjust the level of sweetness you like. And the steamed broccoli was excellent! The portions are huge, none of us could finish our plates, although it was so good, I wish I could have eaten more! Took the left over for lunch tomorrow - yippie! Only con was our drinks were never refilled, but it was a relatively busy night at the restaurant, so it's understandable. Consistently consistent! With the best and most affordable steaks in ANY town! (Congrats on the Chef's Billionth-steak cooked award!) Today we got the ribeye and a side of augratin cauliflower. Man! Steaks always tender and cooked to perfection! It's the only place that I don't need a steak sauce to eat. That says a lot. Anyone who's ever had bland cauliflower knows how hard it is to "spruce it up ". What better way than cheese??!! It's tender without being mushy. The cheese is delicious and fresh. First and foremost, if a cook is employed at a restaurant that primarily serves steak, or has steakhouse in the name of the restaurant; cooking a proper steak should be a crucial element in securing and maintaining employment. We walked in at 6:30pm for dinner and were seated within 5 minutes. Our waiter, Justin R, was a really nice young man. He was pleasant and very aware of our needs. We ordered the baby back ribs which were nicely seasoned and had a little cup of BBQ sauce that had a little kick to it. It came with your choice of two sides or one side and salad. Food and service are fine but the restaurant is freezing cold. It was extremely uncomfortable in the dining room the entire lunch. Some of the people in our group had to go to their cars and get sweaters. I asked the server several times to make it warmer. I finally had to go to the concierge in the front of the restaurant to get her to talk to the manager about it. The restaurant seemed to get somewhat warmer toward the end of the lunch but not enough to make it comfortable. I think there may be something wrong with the heating and cooling system so that some parts of the restaurant are uncomfortably warm, perhaps the kitchen, while others are freezing cold. This really needs to be corrected! Our group of 15 is coming to this Longhorns again in December. If the restaurant is freezing cold again, we are going to change the venue to another restaurant that has some regard for the comfort of its patrons. There's no excuse for this! read more

I have to say I have mixed feelings on this Longhorn. The flavors of what we ordered were decent, but the presentation was severely lacking. My wife ordered the renegade steak with a baked sweet potato, while I ordered blue crab bites and spicy chicken bites. My wifes's steak got sprinkled with some of the brown sugar that was meant for the steak, and the potato was soaking in the juices of the steak. Not deal killers, but not exactly appetizing either. My crab bites list lump crab in the menu, but it is clearly no longer lump by the time it gets to your plate. Kind of shady if you ask me. The real kicker? The chicken bites. Look at these things. Look. At. These. Things. _ I've ordered chicken bites at plenty of other locations. They can be best described as nuggets in sauce. The restaurant had a nice decor and was clean. Upon entering we were greeted promptly and seated at a nice booth as requested. They had a big party seated so the service was a little slow but not too bad. There were a lot of business people who were on their lunch hour. I decided to get the half Kobe beef sandwich and salad lunch special. I asked for my onion strings on the side. They were good but they weren't hot. It also came with a side of chips with cheese. They were warm and very tasty. Hubby opted for the cheeseburger and salad. I liked the horseradish sauce on my sandwich but it made the bread soggy. The beef was tender and seasoned nicely. Hubby was happy with his cheeseburger. We also both enjoyed our side salads. The lunch specials were a good value ranging between $7.99 and $9.99. The food is what you'd expect from a chain restaurant. It's not gourmet but it's consistent. Overall our experience was good and we'd return again. read more
