I try to get into Longhorn anytime I'm in an area where I know they are located. I love going for their 20 oz Cowboy steak. Definitely too much to finish so it ends up being two meals and that's the other plus about going to the steakhouse. It's not overpriced and the beef is quality meat. I love their large menu, their appetizers are more than enough to share, I love any place that gives you bread before your meal comes. I'll definitely keep patronizing. On this visit I tried something different, the cheesy stuffed mushroom caps. They're a little bit overseason, almost too salty to eat. This particular location is one of my favorites. I normally go on a solo date there. The location is always clean, the staff friendly and I never have to wait long for seating. We were fortunate to have a bad experience at a neighboring establishment that brought us here on Thursday to celebrate my wife's birthday. When we entered, the hostess was extremely friendly and we were seated right away. We had a group of five (two kids, my wife, my mother and I), but our server was outstanding. She took care of the kids, got us all the drinks, answered a few questions from the kids about the menu and even more from my mother, and our order was off to the kitchen. She brought us two loaves of bread, which were delicious and came with butter. Between all of us, we had, steak, shrimp, salmon, and chicken and it was all cooked exactly as we requested. I personally tried the salmon, which is served over a bed of rice, with a side. I chose the sweet potato. The initial thing I liked was that salmon isn't always filling, but you basically get two sides with this one. The sweet potato was steamed and stuffed with cinnamon sugar. I wasn't sure about it at first glance, but it was amazing. If you love sweet potatoes, this is a delicious alternative to butter and still healthier than french fries. I would certainly order this exact meal again in the future. For me personally, the restaurant is upscale and pricey, but the food was all delicious and I truly think this is an example of getting what you paid for. Overall, $132 for a family of five, including one double margarita, tip, and to-go portions which gave us three additional lunches. I have definitely had better food and service at other, cheaper steakhouses in the area. I had a medium rare steak and it come out beyond well done. I told the waitress and they took it away to make me a new one. I was left with my potato which I slowly ate on while waiting for my new steak. I finished my potato and my party finished their entire meals before the new steak arrived. Very disappointing especially given the steak didn't need to be cooked very long. Another member of my party received a salad with no dressing, at all, anywhere. They waited almost 10 minutes after food delivery to finally be able to get an employee flagged down to notify them of this. Thankfully everyone else's meal was prepared correctly. We got the Wild West shrimp for an appetizer and it was GREAT. I mean, I might get that next time for my meal. It was so good and a nice large portion for a appetizer. For my meal I got the Parmesan Crusted Chicken - the 9oz. It came with 3 nice portion pieces of well cooked - but still moist chicken topped with Parmesan cheese and a sauce. There is a larger portion available also. Also, it was so good. For my side I got broccoli and I also got a salad choice with it and I got the Caesar - which was fine. We ordered beers and the stuffed mushrooms for starters. The mushrooms were loaded with cheese and bread crumbs - holy cow they were good. My ribeye was cooked just like I wanted (medium rare). I thought the flavoring was great for the steak. The only thing I wish they would add would be grilled onions as a side with their sautéed mushrooms. My mac-n-cheese was very tasty but will probably stick with loaded mashed potatoes or a sweet potato next time. My wife and I came to visit when she wanted a nice place to eat for her birthday. We tried eating at Cheddar's, only to discover an hour wait time. We started looking at other restaurants in the area and remembered Longhorn Steakhouse, as we wanted to try it years ago. Our server was Kathy, which I will detail shortly. We only waited about 20 minutes, despite being initially told it would be about 45 minutes. The first thing we did was look at the menu to see what was compatible with our dietary restrictions (we are gluten-free). At first, we did not see any information on the menu, but this was quickly remedied by going to their website and downloading the allergen PDF. It was very informative, as we made our choices based on that. My wife had the cowboy pork chops, mashed potatoes, and crispy brussel sprouts, while I had the boneless ribeye, loaded baked potato, and crispy brussel sprouts. The wife liked everything she had, though those brussel sprouts are quite tasty. My steak was made just the way I wanted, medium well. Few restaurants get it right on the first try, but Longhorn came through with flying colors. The strawberry lemonade was tasty, too. Kathy was amazing! She tried her best in answering our questions, while her service was top-notch. We are an amiable couple and Kathy just rolled right along with us. Kathy even helped me sing Happy Birthday to the wife. Our drinks were always filled and she had the right amount of presence. Was not gone too long, nor did she hover. Many a server would do well to take lessons from Kathy. This was a memorable first visit, especially considering the birthday. For a chain steak place, I have to say I am a fan. I recently went to this location for the first time for a yelp event (read: sponsored) and I was definitely impressed with the food and the service. Now, do I expect that service when I dine alone and away from the yelp crew? I would hope so, but something tells me they really jazzed up the customer service for our visit. That said, they were super polite, accommodating, and eager to please. The glasses were kelp full and the hovering wait staff was quick to check on us and bring anything we needed (for me that meant more silverware and napkins, whoops). I sampled bites of their regular and seasonal menu. The stand out apps were the wild west shimp (who can say no to spicy fried shrimp with peppercini??) and the corn fritters. The pretzels and the mussels were a bit of a miss for me. I also tried the sangria and the original moscow mule...meh. Craft drinks could probably be a lot better here. The main course for me was the ribeye with a loaded baked potato and the seasonal sauteed mushrooms. This rather impressed me. It was done as I requested(med-rare) and the texture of the meat was stellar. The dry rub was a bit in excess for me since I dont like my steak super salty but I would just note that when ordering next time. Overall for an entree- I think this was a delicious dish. Next was dessert- I was so stuffed at this point I was not really able to enjoy it, but the chocolate cake was a big hit with the entire table. This was our first foray into dining out as restaurants begin reopening. The food was good & they appeared to be sanitizing tables & spreading out customers. But... Our waitress wore her face mask UNDER her nose. When I pointed out it doesn't really work that way, she told me she "can't breathe" when worn over her nose. I also saw another worker wearing hers under her chin - not covering mouth or nose. Twice I saw her go into the kitchen this way. The dipping sauce is bland and over all I would rate the entire appetizer a 2 while Outback Steak House a solid 10. The steaks were cooked perfectly to our order but we waited 40 minutes for our salads and weren't done eating them when our steaks arrived. The bread is okay, but I rather like a hearty and richly flavorful dark bread myself. Regarding the steaks they were "okay". Nothing special that would make me crave coming back for. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful for a chain restaurant, lovely appointments that makes you feel as though you have been transported to a dining room in a huge ranch mansion.
