    Purple Potato Enchiladas
    Katie N.

My husband and I were so excited to hear of a new restaurant opening in Gretna that is NOT a chain! We had a two week old newborn, so we opted to get takeout from Marrow. He had the short rib lasagna, and I tried the purple potato enchiladas. Both meals had really large portion sizes, which is always appreciated. My husband really liked his meal and was impressed with how much short rib was included. My purple potato enchiladas were good, not great. They didn't had as much flavor as I was hoping for. We definitely plan to visit again, hopefully in person next time. I'd really like to try their brunch menu!

Always excited to see more restaurants opening up in southwest Omaha! We did a full course--starter, entrées, and dessert. To start, we had the bone marrow. The presentation was fun, and the bread that came with it was spectacular. The entrées were a little less impressive. The prime rib didn't have much of a crust, and my husband's ribeye was a bit too rare for what was ordered as medium rare. The mac and cheese had a Cajun flavor I personally didn't care for, though my husband enjoyed it. Dessert was good--the butter cake with lemon curd was delicious, and the açaí sorbet was refreshing. Service was wonderful. Our waitress was brand new and still learning, but there were plenty of staff checking in, which made for a good experience. It is on the pricier side, but I wish them success and would be interested in coming back to try their brunch menu.

Ribeye, with bone marrow butter, roasted potatoes.

Food was great, service wasnt the best due to only being assigned a single server. but we did have a large party so for being alone he did great! Good environment wasnt obnoxiously close to other tables. Would definitely recommend.

Risotto with 1/2 shrimp Spanish chorizo... don't let the picture fool you because it's a hefty portion worth every dollar

Another visit to Marrow! Love having great food and specialty cocktails out here in Gretna. Hubby and I love to try something new every visit and have never been disappointed ... POTATO PANCAKE was amazing! Hubby dove into it before I could get the picture and I don't blame him. For dinner we shared the risotto (HUGE potion with 1/2 pound of shrimp and Spanish Chorizo) I would recommend this as a share dish, for sure. Amery was our bartender and gave excellent and friendly service. I always love picking mixologist ideas for my own inspiration. We are very much so bar people so I can't speak to their table side service. See ya soon!

We went there for 'social hour,' and we enjoyed the brussels sprouts and the artichoke dip along with smoked old-fashioned and bread pudding! All were wonderful!

We ate lunch at Marrow today. A great addition to the Gretna food scene. An upscale restaurant with a variety of options. We will definitely return to try more. Loved what we ate - Flying noodles, luncheon steak and crispy chicken sandwich

Wonderful service & the food was top notch! I wish this place success and many years of business as they just opened. The manager and our waitress were awesome! The food was beyond words, fantastic, every entree our table ordered was delicious and timed perfect. Thank you!

We had a wonderful midweek experience at newly opened "Marrow " Restaurant in Gretna. It's tastefully and trendily decorated with a footprint that lends itself to both quiet dining in the main dining room or more lighthearted around the bar and outdoor patio. A lighting system glitch is being worked on that will soon provide guests with a more soothing dimly lit ambiance to enjoy their evening get togethers. The menu is as fresh and trendy as is its feel, meaning you know that you are dining in a very special place encouraging you to relax and enjoy your evening. I wanted to know how they would prepare an area must for a Nebraska Steakhouse so I ordered the Ribeye. My wife stayed with me in the same lane and ordered the Braised Beef Ribs. As you can probably tell in the pictures both were superbly prepared. The Ribeye was melt in your mouth but while it wasn't seared as is customary in our beef state its flavor was perfectly brought out by whatever method they use. That may be Sous Vide or a Steak Oven, it doesn't matter, it WAS PERFECT! My wife was amazed by the beef rib's presentation, it was a bit intimidating but I assured her that the meat would slide easily off the bone and it did! Perfectly braised and masterfully concocted to give you all of the delicious aspects you expect from beef ribs, a seasoned exterior with a succulent flavorful close to the bone beefiness. Wonderfully prepared. The wine, beer and cocktail offerings are extensive. The Bartender/Sommelier, yes believe me he was both can assist you in pairing the right accompaniment to your meal. I had seen a video on the Smoked Old Fashioned so I ordered it, my wife, stuck on Chardonnay opted to ignore the usual advice of pairing red with beef ordered a Rombauer Chardonnay. Having had it many times she claimed it tasted better than ever and was more unique than before. A sign of having a good time. When it comes to what to expect for prices you will likely come to the conclusion that you are dining in a restaurant that has the word "fine" preceding it. Our experience confirmed it but you should decide for yourself. I believe that you will find the menu offerings to be worth the fine price level but the wine pairings to be above the standard pricing you will find in other restaurants. I suspect that they will adjust the prices as they experience what the market will bear. As you would expect, friendly service was everywhere and without a glitch. Our Waiter was our Bartender/ Sommelier as we opted for seating in the lighthearted section, I think it was perfect for us. His knowledge was extraordinary and it was a benefit and a pleasure to have him as our waiter too. He introduced us to the Son of an owner of an Italian Vineyard Owner who was in the restaurant to help out and to share samplings of his Family's wine, Biscardo Marchese of Veneto Italy. It would have paired beautifully with both of our selections had we not been stuck in our habits. Finally, my advice is to support this new addition to our area whenever you can, our next chance we are going to take in the hors d'oeuvres with a glass of perfectly paired wine, with no habits allowed!

DP ordered Lemon Berry Pancakes, a plate-filing short stack of goodness. I'd like to say it tasted as good as it looked, but I couldn't tell as DP chowed down like a hound from hell. In a good way, of course. She did allow me to share her Maple Braised Bacon (meaning that I was able to snatch a piece while she wasn't looking). Really, really fine, something I'd definitely order again. For me. Not to share. I had the Schnitzel Bennie with tart cherry jam and lemon hollandaise. Sound unusual? Tasted great! My only gripe was that the pork cutlet was a bit small and could have used a bit more seasoning in the breading. Would I order it again? You betcha! Service was fast and efficient. The decor was quirky and inviting but the space was loud enough that it was really hard to carry a conversation. Overall rating: yahoo!

We said first available seats, which ended up being at the end of the bar. More about that later... I ordered the vegan standard and hubs ordered the banana bread French toast. The server was friendly and the food came out in a timely manner, considering the place was packed. Regarding the vegan standard, it seems they have cut back on the amount of tofu scramble and increased the amount of hashbrowns, which was a little bit disappointing. As usual it was very tasty though! I tried a bite of the hubs French toast and it was VERY unique and tasty! II will be getting that next time. I was disappointed to hear that they haven't brought back the vegan biscuits and gravy, but maybe once again they will! So the food was great but our experience, not so much, based on where we were sitting. I feel like they should not even use the last spot at the bar to seat a patron. Right next to where I was sitting is the place they bring the clean silverware to dry it off, then they would toss it into the silverware holder. The noise was very annoying and they did nothing to try to even be quiet about it. The other thing about that location is the register is pretty much right in your face, like 15 inches directly in front of me and someone was pretty much there the whole time. Other areas of the bar wouldn't be quite so bad, but next time we will wait longer to get a table or sit at the bar top that looks outside instead of at all the workers doing their thing and talking to each other. Other than the location of where we sat this visit, this is still one of our top spots for a yummy vegan breakfast, and we will be back!

This place taught me a thing or two about vegetables, which delighted all of our senses, and I highly recommend trying a variety of their small plates. This is worth a few minute detour. If you live here, well then, lucky you! Our servers carefully detailed the menu and let us taste a new wine prior to ordering. The dinner service manager is knowledgeable and passionate about the dining experience. When we ordered the radicchio salad, I was skeptical that it would be bitter, but was curious to try it. My husband and I could have fought over it--it was that good! The cauliflower was roasted perfectly, and sat upon a sweet and spice infused puree called mahummara with crunchy pine nuts. The complexity of spices compelled us to try another bite, and then another... Roasted carrots are tender and sweet. Paired with cool yogurt and chili crunch, they ascend into another level of deliciousness. A tear of fresh bread across bits of remaining sauce, and then (not a minute sooner) "we are satiated, thank you!" and the server can take the plate. The restaurant is adjacent to a theater that shows unique offerings and they will sometimes coordinate events with menus. We liked the simple cafe style tables and openness. The chai was house made and it was SO great, like Christmas in a mug, just phenomenal. The food is different from other breakfast spots around Omaha. The croque miss was the breakfast sandwich special and it blew all other sandwiches out of the water. Thick bread, Dijon mustard, ham, and topped with 2 eggs! WOWOWOWOWOOWOW!! It was so complex and the flavors blended so well together! The only thing I wish there was more of was ham, just one more slice would have been great! The brioche French toast was thick, fluffy, and sweet. I loved the cranberries on top, another dish with great complementing flavors. The space itself is inside the Film Streams, it can seem funny walking into a theater and not going to see a movie but wow is it worth it! He looked at me and said, "No, it's totally fine. Would you like some veggies on the side?" "Yes, that would be amazing," I said, and walked back to my table... and burst into tears. It wasn't just what he said. It was the kind energy in his eyes. I felt someone who took pride in what he was making, and who genuinely wanted people to be happy. I found myself asking, why am I crying? Because in a world where so many people in power feel disconnected, where corporations can make us feel like numbers, being genuinely cared for in a small café reminded me how much I love humans. Most people have love in their hearts and are trying to share it in their own small ways. As the world cracks, these simple things are more meaningful than ever.

They were fairly busy, and honestly our food took a bit to come out, but I am still giving a five due to the overall experience and quality of service. Our server Melannie was fantastic and always present. We did the bottomless mimosa deal (3 out of 4 of us) and she was always coming around asking us what flavor we wanted next when our current was still half full to make sure we got our moneys worth. The champagne might not be the fanciest, but for $20 bottomless mimosas I'll take it. They have fun flavors in addition to the basic ones like strawberry, mango, etc. which adds an element of fun. For food--there were several things I was eyeballing but landed on the spicy chorizo Benny. It was really good, eggs cooked perfect, and came with hashbrowns. Another at our table got the poutine which also looked yummy. I'd say the food portion could have included a bread/toast option, however If brunching in Omaha i'd return to try several things on the menu. The vibe inside is chill, would be more fun sitting outside once the weather warms up. Since I was the one that booked the reservation, the tab got a bit confusing. At first they were taking it off my total, then the server said that hold would come off so I paid for my meal/drinks there. I did end up getting double charged (for both the reservation hold and my meal) which was cleared up with a quick phone call to their establishment---apparently it is a new process they are trying. I do understand though why they wouldn't want to just deduct the hold as then people that don't know how to tip wouldn't tip on the total, which hurts the server. All was cleared up regarding this mishap though so no complaints.
