Went to Longhorn in York, PA last night with family and the steaks were like rubber! I ordered the bone in ribeye in excess of $32 and I was able to only saw off about five bites out of a 20 oz steak. It was one of those steaks that to try and cut it with a large serrated steak knife took all your might and still I had to have my wife hold the plate still so I could cut. I eat ribeye steaks all the time but the quality here should say shoe leather! Seaters were shy and in wrong job as the best they can do is walk you to table with no conversation, drop the menus and silverware in a pile, then just turn and walk away. Server was nice and efficient enough but the whole experience left no doubt in our minds that a return to this establishment is simply throwing $150 in the trash! LongHorn is in the very front of the York Town Center and has plenty of parking. I am usually not a steakhouse guy when dining out, but it was a special occasion. There was a 20-minute wait for seating on a Friday night, which we didn't find bad and that wait ended up being much shorter. Our server was extremity friendly and did a good job working the several tables he was responsible for, including ours. Most people at the table got a Steak with varying sides. Bread was excellent, while I'm not a salad eater it was also good, and the Mac & Cheese others at the table got was highly thought of. The New York Strip I ordered was perfectly done. The Baked Potato was something you'd see out of a commercial, was visually perfect, and its taste was not overpowering. Overall, our group had a great experience at LongHorn Steakhouse. Only minor issue? Outside there was a strong sulfur smell that might be coming from a sewer issue. read more

We were in York for a Volleyball tournament and looking for a dinner spot. We called ahead for a large party and were told they could seat us. We arrived at 4:15 and waited an hour and half to sit. Given that the party was large, we were grateful they could group tables and get us seated despite the wait. I ordered a LH burger with cheese no bun. My burger came out with no cheese. When I told the waiter nicely, he took it back and returned several minutes later with my burger and a slab of cold cheese on the side. I actually got the giggles it was so ridiculous. The waitstaff requested that we do bills by table seat # but in the end, the bill took an hour to reconcile. Typically, my expectations match the restaurant, and I don't expect a high-end dining experience . But, for a restaurant that sits next to hotels that host tournament groups almost every weekend, this is really disappointing. Would not recommend. read more

We went to Longhorn to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary. Longhorn screwed me again... My wife ordered the Cowboy Pork Chops with NO seasoning or anything else, just grilled and plain. When they were brought to the table by the server there was a heavy layer of brown jiz on top of the chops; the server said it was "love butter" put on by the cooking staff. My wife tasted it which was nasty and off-putting to her. The pork chops were taken away and replaced with a new 'smaller' order of barely warm chops. I guess the customer gets "PUNISHED" by the kitchen staff when an item is returned and not made as the customer orders it. My meal was almost finished until her replacement chops came out; $18.29 wasted... The bread was hard and over-baked. The salad was not fresh and crisp as it normally is at Longhorn. WHY would the kitchen staff put anything on someone's meal when they just order it without any seasonings and just plain? Seems like someone is not paying attention to details or poor training by management. Also there is NO Mention of anything like "love butter" in the description on the menu, so it should not be on one's food, or the serving staff should inform the customer of such additions when the order is placed. This is the second time I got screwed by Longhorn in a similar situation. First time was a couple years ago when I ordered a Cowboy Rib-eye Steak for my birthday. I was served a beautiful looking rib-eye with a Hugh blob of white cum on top of my steak which I ordered mid-rare with just salt and pepper, no other seasonings or anything else. They said it was 'garlic butter' which I said I did not order or request and I sent it back and had them take the steak off my bill, which they did. No food for me that day at Longhorn, no replacement meal period, I was pissed... I didn't go back for almost two years. Management is the key to successful. Ordered two ribeyes tonight medium rare. They were both purple with a lot of gray which tells me they were frozen. These were the worst steaks ever. It was 50 dollars of garbage. My mother mentioned that she had three $25 gift cards to LongHorn Steakhouse and wanted to know if I was interested in going to dinner tonight. I am a Pescatarian, and even though LongHorn Steakhouse has a Salmon entree, that is what I usually get at most restaurants that do not feature seafood as their specialty. However, LongHorn Steakhouse is the one restaurant where I will eat a Filet Mignon. LongHorn's Flo's Filet is so tender and juicy you can cut it with a butter knife when appropriately cooked; medium-rare. Everyone knows LongHorn is a chain restaurant owned by Darden Restaurants. There is one advantage to chain restaurants - consistency. That is the reason I choose Flo's Filet at LongHorn Steakhouse. I know what I will to expect on the receiving end when served the steak; a delicious, fat-free, gristle-free, tender, juicy, steak served in 6, 8, or 10 ounces. The steak does not require ketchup or steak sauce to hide the steak's natural beef flavor. It is what every steak lover expects when ordering a steak. I began by having a long pour of the Woodbridge Cabernet Sauvignon, followed by another later during the meal. We shared the Sweet Chili Calamari (hand-breaded calamari tossed in a sweet chili-ginger sauce and topped with green onions). This version of Calamari is not what I would consider "traditional Italian or Mediterranean Calamari," but it is the BEST Calamari I have ever eaten. There is a side sauce to dip the Calamari in, but I think it is unnecessary. It is spicy, sweet, and tender, not chewy, as is. We never eat the bread because we would not have enough room for the meal with the appetizer, salad, and entree. On this occasion, I decided to get the Roasted Corn-on-the-Cob. As a habit, I never eat corn-on-the-cob because I do not like the little pieces of skins from the corn kernels getting stuck between my teeth, even for the ride home until I can brush and floss. I love corn, in general, even corn-on-the-cob, but I will not eat it while out. I made the mistake of ordering it tonight, for more than one reason. Not only did the skins get caught between my teeth, but the corn was also flavorless, dry, even though topped with whipped butter, and not what I expect from corn - juicy, plump, sweet, flavorful corn. We both chose the 6 oz. Flo's Filet, knowing that the appetizer and salad would fill us with the corn-on-the-cob. We were right. Even the small steak was more than enough to fill us, not leaving enough room for dessert. I highly recommend LongHorn Steakhouse for their Flo's Filet steak. I am giving them 4-stars based on the Roasted Corn-on-the-Cob. read more

I was looking forward to having a nice late lunch, but unfortunately, my experience was anything but nice. I was seated promptly, but it took 13 minutes to get a glass of water, and it is not like at the time that I arrived at the place was busy. I ordered my food right away, and the stake came out blue. I am all for having red in my meat, but that was ridiculous . The steak was taken back to the kitchen and I was wholeheartedly believing it was going to be remade. Not heated up . Because I had already cut into the steak all the juices ran out on the plate and they took that very steak and threw it back on the grill which made the meat incredibly dry. The waitress did not check on me to make sure everything was OK. The manager did bring out the steak I cut into it and it was fine, I did not taste it in front of her. I had asked for butter because they had taken away the broccoli that was on my plate and replaced it with new, and it took another 10 minutes to get butter, even though the manager assured me that she would bring it right out . it was the waitress who did so. Finally, as I was trying to saw my way through the steak I had just had enough. I had not seen the waitress. She did not ask me if I wanted a box. I ended up using mobile pay and that was that. We came here for a date night and had Monica as our server. Monica was so kind and friendly and was the only redeeming think about our experience. My husband ordered the NY strip and i ordered the rib-eye. I thought my ribeye was a little salty until i tasted my husbands strip! Holy cow was that salty. It tasted like someone accidentally spilled a bottle of salt on top. When we told Monica, she profusely apologized even though it was of course not her at at fault and she offered to send her manager over.... This is where things got crazy. The manager came over and proceeded to tell my husband why it was his fault for not knowing they " boldly season" and asked if we had seen the commercials which would have warned us. I entered around 7:30. Stood at the host stand, with no one else waiting, for 12 minutes before a staff member asked if I'd been helped. I said no and asked for a booth. (I could see no less than nine empty clean booths available in the time I stood waiting for a host.). The hostess then replied, "ok, just let me clean one off for you" as she walked away. About 3 minutes later she joined her coworkers in a group congratulatory announcement wishing a table in the back a happy birthday. Another 2 minutes passed before the hostess reappeared. She took me to a booth near the front door that had been clean during my entire wait. It's now 8:04 and still no server has come to the table. Do I stay or do I go? I believe I will see this through. I see others arrive for dinner, get seated promptly and a server finds their table quickly. I just sit here with a menu folded closed wondering how this place stays in business. Have been a frequent of the restaurant as I live five minutes away, but lately the steak has been less than desirable(quality and cooking). A few months ago I was seated in the bar area and the table and wall was littered with fruit flies. During todays visit in the dinning room the table was visited by 8-10 ants. After a brief inspection under the table, food debris was scattered everywhere. The place has really gone down hill after several years of great food and cleanliness. So we called ahead for 4 of us and they gave us a hour and 20 minute estimation time and we said okay so they added us to the list. Five minutes later we called them back asking to change our party to 5 instead. They stated they can't do that but once we get to the restaurant at our original time we may just have to wait a few extra minutes and wait for a table. We said that was okay. When we got to the restaurant after an 1 hour and 10 minutes we let them know and she stated that they took us off the wait then and put us back on for five people and gave us a estimated time for 30-45 minute additional... after we already waited for an hour and 10 minutes. I stated that they told me it be a few extra minutes and not a completely new time when I called and spoke to someone over the phone about this and all their response was just a "yea i'm really sorry" - the food is always good here and we usually have a very pleasant experience but this is absurd. If we knew the time would change that much and that all they were going to do is take us off the list just to add us back ok all over again we could've just came sooner instead of waiting for the original time we got. read more

Longhorn steakhouse is one of my favorite places...this being said, I'm not a steak fan, so I can't say much about the steaks! The atmosphere is much classier than Texas Roadhouse or Logan's Steakhouse( they are more of a "redneck" styled place in my mind). The wait is also usually less than either of its rivals. A trick that my fiance and I use to get a nice dinner without the wait at Longhorn is to simply pass through the crowd of people waiting, and go straight to the bar. So if you don't like waiting for your food and don't mind sitting at the bar (which is smoke free of course) this is the way to go! ( Works at a lot of places.) Drinks are priced the same as at any restaruant bar in the area, no surprise there. They give you a round loaf of tasty-toasty wheat bread with butter to start you off. I've gotten appetizers, but regretted it since they are quite large and meal portions are also huge. I usually get either the grilled or fried shrimp entree with baked potatoe and a salad, and have to take some home with me! My fiance loves the salmon with mixed veggies. I've never had a food complaint or service complaint. Food is always cooked to my liking and I've never had to wait too long for drink refills (when I had dinner in the dinning room area instead of at the bar.) The only negative thing I have to say is that this place is alittle pricey in comparison to other places, but I think it is actually worth the extra money in the end since I ususally have enough food for lunch the next day and it is very delicious! Went for lunch here on a Saturday, around 2pm. We were seated immediately and greeted by our server within 5 minutes. I had the Black & Blue burger and a side of their Mac and Cheese. As soon as I put the mac & cheese in my mouth the flavor just exploded! I didn't even start chewing it yet! Best damn mac and cheese eva! 2 of my friends had the NY strip and they were cooked to perfection....my other friend had the Parm crusted chix sammy and their lobster/crab chowder and no one had a complaints.
