    Lemon dill salmon 10/10

Stumbled upon this place while visiting Blue Hole Park, walking around the adorable town of Wimberley! The outside looks like a cozy house and you walk into a very warm place with wood everywhere which I love. The lay out is nice with a bar right at the front. I ordered the bourbon drink Mourning Glory and it did not disappoint, perfectly mixed. We had a very sweet server, I wish I could remember her name (brown hair, very young looking, knew the menu very well and super personable). I ordered the last special of togarashi tuna with wasabi mashed potatoes. Thank you to my server who got my order in so quickly!! Oh my gosh this was a Michelin worthy dish and I'm surprised this place has such incredible food and is a hidden gem. Chef Robert is amazing and he changes the special every week leaving me to want to make the drive weekly for his creativity and talent. I also tried the lemon dill salmon and both fish dishes were some of the best I've ever had; I'm a bit of a self proclaimed fish connoisseur. The property is very warm and feels like you're visiting friends for dinner. You've gained a fan for life and I don't mind sharing how much I love this place; just please don't order the last special.

Bruschetta was delicious. It was four two bite pieces.

It was a hot day on a Saturday, around 1pm. Some of us were hangry and some of us weren't. We didn't want diner type food at the restaurant next door, so we came to this place. It wasn't terribly busy and got a table right away. The inside was a rustic cabin feel, and it had A/C! From looking at the menu, you can tell this food was a lot more refined than next door. Each of our meals were yummy. The bruschetta was delicious. The tomato soup and salad I had was refreshing and delicious. Every person in the family enjoyed their food, even the hangry one. I must say, it took a while for our food to come out. I don't know if they were understaff or not (or it's the speed of Wimberley), but I did noticed some tables waited a while to even order or get a glass of water. What we order wasn't terribly complicated. I was just glad it tasted very good.

We were originally thinking of eating at the Leaning Pear but it was closed on Mondays... Longleaf has good ratings as well so that was our new destination. David was our waiter, informative but his speech was very fast... hard to follow. His recommendations were spot on though, the lasagna I ordered was sumptuous, the avo/wild rice/shrimp salads delicious (and we're not really shrimp people), and the crispy potatoes were awesome. Deviled eggs were good as well. No complaints here. If David would have slowed the speech down a bit we'd have had a better experience... something to keep in mind. Lastly, the place itself is rustic and the bathrooms are in a separate building.

10/10 Cocktails Bartender Bri KNOWS what she's doing! Absolute talent. Best Cocktail experience in Wimberley. If you're visiting, definitely check this place out! We didn't have dinner but that'll be my next post on this place!! But overall ambiance is super chill and laid back. Great dim lighting indoors and really big outdoor seating area.

I don't normally do reviews, and the food was so good I thought I had to write one. 10/10 recommend. Everyone was so nice, the chef came out and asked us how our food was, the staff was very knowledgeable and recommended all the right things. We also sat in the back patio area and it was beautiful. One of my favorite restaurants I've ever eaten at.

    House made lasagna

If we could give more than 5 stars we would. The food was outstanding and Chef Robert a true gem. The flavors in his dishes and sauces are amazing and Wimberley is fortunate to have his talents on display here.

Our server Keyoni was great, there were some hiccups with missed drinks a couple times, but overall he did great and the best that he could handling our big group. The views were super nice and they even had little seating areas in the turf area, which was perfect for our kids to play around after they ate. The food was amazing here, and I didn't have one bad bite! The queso and the guacamole in the Creek House chip trio was so good. The truffle parmesan fries were nice and crispy, and I loved the garlic aioli on the side. Even our kids' macaroni and cheese was delicious, I was eating the leftovers as a side with my own meal! I picked the smoked and shaved beef sandwich, which had really good flavor and very tender meat. I really liked the cucumber salad on the side because it was different than your typical side of fries or regular salad. It was light and refreshing! I had bites of the redfish and the pork chop also, which are two dishes that I wouldn't normally order myself but they were both amazing bites! It was the juiciest pork chop I had ever eaten before. I paired my meal with a house blackberry soda, which was refreshing. My only regret is that I didn't have room for dessert! Overall it was a great pick for a Friday night family dinner!

Live music in the background set the perfect ambience for the evening. Our server, Matt, made the whole experience -- no AI could have crafted a more perfect waiter. From start to finish, he was spot-on: his wine suggestions, his appetizer recommendation, and the wine pairing he chose for our main course were all perfect. It was disappointing to learn that the next day would be his last with the restaurant -- he was truly an asset. We'll be back next month, though whoever serves us next has a lot to live up to. The food itself was outstanding too -- perfectly seared shrimp and grits with sweet corn and blistered tomatoes, fried green tomatoes topped with crab and avocado, and a hearty steak sandwich with crispy fries. Every dish was as memorable as the service.

One of our party members had dietary restrictions and even though they batch prep food, they were very accommodating in working with her needs. The grilled banana bread was good, but I thought the grilling itself was unnecessary and didn't add much. On the other hand, the Hill Country chaat was a pleasant surprise. I'm not usually a beet person, but between the mint and watermelon, it was perfectly refreshing for a hot summer day! The shrimp and grits were also phenomenal. I also had a drink and a coffee. Even with auto gratuity for the group, I thought the whole meal was reasonably priced. I also loved the big windows and being surrounded by all the Hill Country greenery and trees. Great atmosphere, great food, and great service. Highly recommend for a group outing or a relaxed lunch in Wimberley.

The very best thing we had was the bread pudding. R (who is allergic to caffeine) ordered a decaf latte. They served her one with caffeine and she spent the night awake and uncomfortable. For $600 the evening was a disappointment. The restaurant policy is against separate checks, which left us with issues we weren't expecting at a "fine dining" restaurant. The caffeinated coffee posed a significant health risk for my wife. Eat at your own risk. After weeks there has been no acknowledgment or apology from this restaurant after compromising my wife's health or the substandard food.

My dad's and mine favorite dish was Fried Shrimp with Onion Rings and we have always ordered this dish for YEARS. But the last two visits have been disappointing. Shrimp: they changed the fried shrimp coating, not so crunchy anymore and super fishy taste, like old slimy shrimp. Boo! Five us ordered this dish about two months ago with the same results but thought it was maybe just that visit. Onion Rings: they have started preparing huge batches in advance so they come to your table within 3 or 4 minutes and they are over coated, with gooey batter falling off and barely warm. To me it seems that the steam from them sitting under a warmer ruined a good dish. My husband got the chicken fried chicken and loved his dish. Also, I can no longer ignore how dirty this place is. The white doors entering are nasty as are other doors and surfaces. The AC venting is dirty as are the decorative items on display. The servers are always top notch and I tip well regardless of my opinion of the food. Maybe next time I will try a different dish.
