Excellent place to shop but for medicines needs improvement. Some employees are rude and unprofessional I'm surprised they still employeed here. Shopping for home essentials is great for pharmacy in my opinion elsewhere has better faster professional service. read more

I love the new Pahoa Longs! It is huge compared to all the other Longs on the island. They stock more of everything plus have some unadvertised specials. Their shelves are neatly stacked and the clerks seemed personable. read more

Went to pick up 2 prescriptions today. The clerk retrieved 1 for me. I told her there were two. She would not ask nor look into this for me. She told me to stand in the drop off line again and ask them, she had no idea what happened to my other prescription. They both were on the same sheet of paper. On my pharmacy receipt, at the top it states "# Scripts: 02" but pharmacy employee did not know to look there? I didn't have time (that's why I dropped it off to pick up later) to stand in the drop off line again so I asked her if she could have someone look into this and call me. That was like pulling teeth, like she had never heard of anyone doing something like that before. In the past, anytime there was a problem with a prescription Longs called me, and this was not a new prescription. My lost prescription was not this clerks problem. The restroom has been out of order at the Hilo store by the mall for almost two years. Ever since CVS acquired Longs Drugs. My Mothers friend actually pissed her pants while waiting for her medication. When I called corporate they would not give me the ceo's name. His name is Larry Merlo, easily found online. Shady? I have complained. No response back from corporate. If they cannot even maintain their bathroom why should you or I trust their Pharmacy? read more

I'm very disappointed in this location. I wanted to eat white chocolate twix bars but they did not carry it. Prince kuhio carries it but not this location. They need to get their act together. This is ridiculous. read more

Longs is conveniently located in downtown Hilo, however it's often not quick so kills the convenience factor. We've all been to Longs at one point or another. Store is good, they have good deals and they are the only 24 hour store in town. However if we're being honest, I die a little inside every time I have to visit longs. Mainly because it takes forever to check out. It's not usual to be in line for 10-15 minutes with only several people in line... This seems to happen constantly. I always tried to figure out what the problem is and I finally figured it out. They have what would normally be a customer service counter/ photo lab section. However it's never used. That means every time you get into line, it seems that somebody frequently has some sort of issue that requires customer service help. This is usually because somebody didn't get their 30 cents off a can of spam as advertised and they have to search through their ads, rain checks, return or in general anything that requires an override... So every time this happens, which is all the time, it backlogs the line and everybody has to wait a very long time. Even if they have other lines open, it's often the same story. Not only does it make the person seeking help feel uncomfortable because the line is being held up, but it irritates everybody waiting patiently. When this happens, there isn't much urgency to help the line to move along. This is a management issue that can be fixed by simply redirecting people that need returns and other customer service help "out of" the standard lines and have somebody help them at a customer service counter or an empty line. It should never take this long to check out, and doesn't match the standards of other longs stores. read more

Two stars because this is the place where I can get some deals on some things. When you are shopping for things and go to pay for them check your receipt in your car. Or see the prices on the screen. Multiple times they haven't given the discounts that they offer on the price tags. Also multiple times my mother and I have been charged items we did not even get. Cashiers are nice but some of them they are really forgetful. read more

I usually go to Target to fill my prescriptions but I decided to do this one at Downtown Longs because it's closer to home. I dropped off my prescriptions on Wednesday, October 12th, around 2pm. The Tech said that it would take 20 minutes and they'll contact me if they run into any problems. I go to the drive-thru at 8pm to pick it up, and they tell me that they needed to talk to my doctor (there was a problem with the 2 meds being taken together). So I go to the drive-thru tonight, October 14th at 8:30pm, and now the Pharmacy Manager is helping me. Then she tells me that they're still waiting for a call back from my doctor. Now I'm pissed because I need my meds and I wasn't notified about this! Now I have to wait till Monday and the only thing the "manager" kept saying was sorry! Well that ain't helpful cause its the weekend. Had I been notified today before my drs office closed, I could've taken cared of this! Finally I took back my prescriptions and will be going to Target. Better yet, the manager just put my prescription in the green basket and walked away without saying a word *Terrible* BOO to DOWNTOWN LONGS PHARMACY! And your manager needs to provide better customer service. I wish I remembered her name cause I'd post it on here! read more

I've been a loyal customer over 20 years getting my prescriptions from downtown Long's & today was the final straw for their bad customer service!, better yet, from the manager! Was waiting at the drive-thru window for 5 minutes without being acknowledged, a tech (who I found out was the mgr!) walks by & looks at me, continues walking & later spoke on the intercom that someone will be right with me. By then I was pissed knowing that they know I was waiting! So of course, I called & spoke to HER & transferred all my meds to Target! I should've done that a long time ago! read more

I love longs, reminds me of my childhood. I think most if not al on the mainland are now gone. They are still on the islands and the perfect stop for snacks, beach toys, and RX drugs. friendly folks, ALOHA! read more
